    Pete Thorn, without a doubt, does the best pedal demos using very descriptive understandable guitar player terms. And then breaks down the controls and guitar takes one by one so you can hear exactly what is being played. I'm Sold.

    I love how the Tumnus delivers a light OD without the 'fizz' one normally hears with drive pedals. When pushing a lightly overdriven amp it's Heaven! Crunchy settings solve the bottom end woof I experience with my Lonestar Special. A fantastic pedal!

    I love Klons much more than TS style pedals personally. They sound more amp-like on low gain settings and when they boost driven amps, they just become a part of the amp. So cool!

      Yes exactly how I feel

    • @jimyang8824
      @jimyang8824 6 лет назад +3

      Well Klon types pedal works to magnify voltages into the amp instead of TS which manipulates sound in front of the amp; it's just how they were designed

      James Russo Both types have their purpose, but this is well said. It’s a good articulation of what I hear and feel.

    • @BlooblooPea
      @BlooblooPea 3 года назад +4

      TS pedals are so hyped after decades of accolades which makes people assume these pedal architectures should be standard for overdrives. IMHO, tube screamers were never anything to get even half chub about. Old heads thrive on days past, while people like Wampler adjust and make serious improvements on historical pedals. Sure, you could buy an OG war torn Klon for like $5k...however, the circuit in itself is not very complicated. The Tumnus Deluxe brings an impeccably similar tone while providing far more tonal flexibility at an astonishingly reasonable price. It feels like the market of overpriced decades old gear is out the door. There's nothing wrong with someone thriving to have that piece of history, but pretty much every highly sought after vintage pedal has been lovingly reproduced at a good price point with modern conditions considered.

    Another fantastic review Pete and as a huge Monty Python fan loved the Meaning of Life reference as well. I've had this for a couple months now and I picked up a Wampler Dracarys along with it and really been enjoying both pedals. I have a Roland Blues Cube Hot and just use it set completely clean and use these to shape the tone. I can get every sound I need between using them separately or stacked with the Tumnus Deluxe going into the Dracarys.

    Pete Thorn, I've said it before, and I'll say it again: You are a gem of GEMS, an amazing spirit amongst a sea of mortals.
    You are special in these and other ways as well, i.e. All your demos feature original music. real music. You multi-trac and then explain everything you did. You empower everyone by sharing all the ideas and holding back nothing. Your audience loves you more than you could know because everything you do helps all of us to become more of what we have merely been dreaming of.

    Looking at a spectroscope, if if you keep the gain at “wife friendly levels” and feed it with a Silver Archer, you see a lot more harmonic sparkle/variation which is really nice. Course if you roll in the gain ...it doesn’t matter much. Another nice feature is at lower levels the active bass eq really helps with the bottom end.

    These V1 Deluxe Tumnus are the ones buy . It's made to perfection and it has the correct diodes . Brian visited Bill in Boston to get his blessing . Bill gave him a box of some Klon parts for his own personal use . Brian released the pedal with the goat guy and Bill was not happy . Brian told Bill he would take goat guy off and the new design and put different diodes in the pedals . Lot of people don't know this . The V1 Tumnus Deluxe is a true Klon with more options . The Andertons video proves it . Pete thought this pedal sounded the best behind a true klon .
