Great update Josh. The skirting around the bottom of the layout makes the layout pop even more. Man that SP locomotive looks slick! Whoever attends Amherst will end up getting some nice stuff that your being very generous to give away. I do know what you mean on the trees as I've been installing Super Trees on my layout as well. It does take a lot of trees and that does take a lot of time, especially when it's cold outside to the spray painting part. Looking forward to the next update! - Jason
I love the signals, any chance you could tell me more about the lenses on the new signals? I'd really be interesting what they are and if I could get some.
I wish I could meet you but I live in Virginia I would never be able to go up there to meet you. I love that southern pacific loco I have been looking for a good DCC loco but I don’t have the money to buy one I was hoping one day I could win one of these giveaways. Hello from Lane Hammer.
From what I know, the x doesn't actually have any meaning other than that the company merger just wanted a third letter in their name. C is for chessie and s is for seaboard, the two parent companies. However, since the letter x in reporting marks means a company other than a railroad, csx has to also tack a letter t on the end of their reporting marks
So glad you’re posting often!!! Great layout!!! Also wish I could come to the show I just probably can’t with all of the other expenses with my baseball but I am a really big fan I have your logo with your name in a frame on my wall lol your my favorite RUclipsr
Thanks! They're Inventive Models -Type F couplers. They come pre-assembled and weathered. Still testing the reliability of them, so I'll be sure to share that in future videos once I run them for a bit. -Josh
That was supposed to be an LED readout of what was going on with the rotary coal dumper. Great idea that didn't actually come to fruition due to technical difficulties. But, it's a work in progress ... and maybe ... just maybe ... we'll get it working.
Awesome job, Josh! Love it! Also, I just noticed that you moved the crossing signals from near the gas station. You planning on replacing them with new Walthers signals, or something else? Really excited for the traffic lights as you have heard many times lol. Also, this Kenny guy is rockin' it on those track signals!
Yes that project has been “coming” for a long time. Haha I keep getting distracted with locomotive projects. Hopefully I’ll be able to get that up this spring! I’ve got everything designed and laid out for the crossings, just ne s to order the parts and start building now. Will definitely keep y’all updated.
@@nsmodeler24 sweet! The part where you said the goal was to get a “No Right Turn” sign that activates in a 2019 update that’s no longer public, I have been going nuts over it ever since. Don’t wanna spill the beans yet, but That’s something I’d like to incorporate into my future layout.
23" between the main level and the upper level. At 1/4" vertical for every 1' lateral, that's about a 2% grade for about 92'. The lower level is about 22" height difference.
Hey NSMODELER24 I'm new to your channel man this is an inspirational and awesome layout. I'll be checking your channel out as I begin to design mines. Thank you for the video and hope to meet you at the Amherst Show!!!
Josh, On those Overland Model Inc. CSX diesel models. Did the motors in those have to be switched out in order for the installation of a decoder or are there decoders that work for the motors that are normally in those? I have some brass from the late 80's/90's & early 2000's. Wonderful layout your father and you have. Thank you for showing us this update.
I have been learning about model train operations from many of your videos, but I have a question. Do you have a video about how local freight trains were operated while under stream power? What were the differences in diesel and steam switching in a daily local freight?
Thanks for the great update. Maybe you covered this previously (if so please point me in the direction), what signal detection hardware do you use? And software? Thanks
The moment you finish lettering the DKPX hoppers, Rapido will announce them in a new run.😀 I've watched your videos for years and it is amazing to see the difference trees make vs just ground cover. The skirting enhances the looks too.
Wow! This is a really wonderful layout! And, as a signalist, I am extremely impressed... those are some very, very, _very_ realistic signals. I'm blown away!
The conductor who left the EOTD on the walkway is gonna get some time on the street when the FRA finds that.....they love dinging crews for that one
This is the quality model railroad content that we all yearn for.
I'm just amazed at the realism and quality of your layout. The skirting looks great.

@@nsmodeler24 hi, can you whether my loc.? I'll pay.. I wanted to get it done for my dad's birthday
Nice work, Josh, you should come to Cartersville, GA, on March 9-10 for the train show held by the NMRA Piedmont Div. of the Southeastern Region
I love the signals, any chance you could tell me more about the lenses on the new signals? I'd really be interesting what they are and if I could get some.
I have a ns ES44 could u make it sound realistic
I do have some sounds if it has a LokSound decoder that you could use - shoot me an email at NSmodeler24@gmail.com
I absolutely love your videos. please keep them coming

I noticed step lights on a couple of your CSX locos. Are those after market installs?
What does the "X" in CSX stand for? My favorite loco livery is Chessie System. Then they changed their name to CSX.
I did a bit more research. Some say that the x is for multiplication or consolidation, signifying the positive look each company has on the merger
Can’t wait to meet you at Amherst!
You as well! -Josh
I'll make sure to swing by the booth at Amherst! I'm with the New Jersey Southern Ntrak club
Sheesh, you and your dad don't just have a layout, you have a monopoly.

Thanks! They're Inventive Models -Type F couplers. They come pre-assembled and weathered. Still testing the reliability of them, so I'll be sure to share that in future videos once I run them for a bit. -Josh
@@nsmodeler24 Thank you I will have to check them out!
Glad he's uploading more recently now
Awesome models
Wow, are those all sergent couplers for the DKPX train? Impressive
The layout is one of the best and just keeps getting better. Truly a masterpiece
Thanks Jim!
Where can I get Utah belt power!?!?!
Out of all the outro's I've seen this by far takes the cake that's the most amazing way to end a video kudos to you bro
What happened to the "Utah Belt "tour?
Nice layout! Always liked what you do.👍
Thank you for all you and your dad do on the layout. It is one of my favorites.
Great update well done, always enjoy your videos
Awesome Josh. I wish I was crafty like you and your dad with my layout
Really cool seeing some Erie Lackawanna units on the layout, even if it's only for this video! The door came out great!
I love your videos and can't wait to see more from this layout, The NC Mtns are my favorite place to visit and fish.
Nice update 👍🤠👍
At 11:03, what device is that mounted on the facia?
That was supposed to be an LED readout of what was going on with the rotary coal dumper. Great idea that didn't actually come to fruition due to technical difficulties. But, it's a work in progress ... and maybe ... just maybe ... we'll get it working.
Loved the CLSX hopper, cause I model Cargill Salt. Awesome layout. Take care - Bill.
Thanks Bill!

Love your work, mate! I'm about to start my multi deck build, and I was wondering what's the distance between your levels?

would love to see a walk through of weathering those aluminum hoppers
Spectacular, I enjoy your videos.
Fantastic update Josh. Thank for sharing!
Great video
Awesome work Josh! I'll see you at Springfield! Do you have an Instagram page? Also how can I donwload some of your custom ESU soundfiles?
Great update! We’re heading up to Springfield - I’ll swing by Saturday morning or afternoon to say hi! Lou
Great update sir the layout is looking fantastic as always keep the videos coming!
Thank you!
Beautiful scenes and infos from your layout. Greetings Joe 😊
nice
I remember running the 666 CSXT AC6000CW. It was stenciled on the cab side as Devil's Chariot.
The door and signals look great.

Simply amazing. Please, keep up the good work. I do have one question, what are the dimensions of your layout?
The skirting looks great, glad you are coming to Springfield show!
Thanks for the update great layout
That yellow East Coast Circuits emergency truck is really cool. They did a nice job with it!
Awesome work -
Perhaps I’ve missed it in past but do you have a track plan anywhere ?
I have been learning about model train operations from many of your videos, but I have a question. Do you have a video about how local freight trains were operated while under stream power? What were the differences in diesel and steam switching in a daily local freight?
Nicely done, lovely detail on your layout, thanks for sharing..😊
Awesome layout. Love the car wreck scene
Very nice video! Great layout update! - Dimitris
Thanks Dimitris! - Josh
You should come to the easley model train show in easley SC. It's next month. It's closer to you
Again this is amazing love it. Happy New Year 🎊🎈🎆
Can you make a video on how you power your layout and how to wire the signal
Did you happen to get into med school? Just curious love the content!
Scale rotary couplers!?!?! Scratch built?
Wow Josh the door looks great love all the detail
Appreciate it man!
Fantabulous as always, but unfortunately today I have to be "that guy." The EOT sitting on the walkway of that GP38 is write up worthy FRA infraction
Which I mean would make a great scene of an FRA inspector yelling at a hapless employee
Thanks for the great update. Maybe you covered this previously (if so please point me in the direction), what signal detection hardware do you use? And software? Thanks
Digitrax
The EL units were unusual to see but great for specials as so cool.
The layout looks great!!!! Keep up the awesome content 😀
Appreciate the kinda words! -Josh
How do you weather your auto flood coal cars?
Holy hell, layouts and trains like this make me miss mine at my old house. Incredible work, even better camera work!
Its Crazy How This Exists 👍
Very nice Josh!
Always a pleasure to watch your updates. You have an amazing layout.
Wonderful layout! So many small details! Love the logs on the hills. Amazing looking coal train!
The king is back
Great update and beautiful layout. Thanks for sharing. Dave
Do you run intermodals

Nice layout
Thanks for the update on the layout Josh! It is really coming along.

Your narration and video skills are unbelievable. You do such a great job.

Beautiful layout, one of the best Iv'e seen... I wish I had the space and time to do something like this. Dream since a kid and now I'm 59 lol
