    You have created a beautiful Layout. The Rockwork looks very realistic, as does everything. The Trees look beautiful. Nice Track Plan. Thank you for sharing your Layout on RUclips.

    That is to funny. I am using the same layout plan from MR too. I am working to get mine ready for shows next year. Hoping to start with the Coastal Rail Buff show in Savannah GA. I put my postings as trainmaster bond on TikTok. It is just to funny.

    Thanks for mentioning the backdrop supplier; I need some of those. Great "twice-around" track plan and scenery. O-narrow-gauge always brings Baby Gramps' diorama to mind.

    It is impressive! Unfortunately my train room has a choke point down to 6 foot wide, for a 9 foot length of 17 feet total length, so I can't build anything like that. I wish I could. By the way, an often over looked lumber product is mine stulls. 1. : a round timber used to support the sides or back of a mine. 2. a. : one of a series of props wedged between the walls of a stope to hold up a platform for supporting miners, ore, or waste or to protect miners from falling stones. Your lumber company could be contracted to provide stulls. In Arizona there were some that were not round that more looked like railroad ties, but the length of a narrow gauge flatcar. At the Morenci mines there is a photo of a pile of mine stulls stacked up a cliff. Looks like a mountain of stulls. Next to that is a sawmill. Stulls were cut to size onsite.

    Great layout and looking forward as you progress, also found you guys through Thunder Mesa Dave. I'm real interested in On30 1880's era / logging but I don't know anything about DCC w/sound and Bachmann Spectrum (Porters) not being produced anymore. (I contacted bachmann and that's what they said), So I'll just enjoy watching you guys build !

    Hi Sean, I stumbled across your videos on the Shay upgrade and had no idea you had a layout to run it on! I have been a fan of Iain Rice's Lilliput Logger since it first appeared in MR decades ago. You have rekindled my interest in that project. You have done an amazing job on your rendition, in what I'm assuming is On30! Hope to see more vids in the future.

    • @Seanmmvi

      Hi! Great, so happy to have you. I stumbled on the Lilliput Logger plan many years ago and I knew when/if I ever had a chance to build a layout, that is the one I was going to do. This is an On30 layout, we stretched the original trackplan from 4x8 in HO to 5x10 in On30, that is part of the reason we are so limited on space for the lumber mill, but that's okay. The mill we build will be a representation of a mill, not a true 1:1 model. The trackplan we have here is very original to the plan as Ian drew it, we just added a 3 way switch by the mill and omitted a diamond crossover - other than that, it's pretty unchanged. Unfortunately, Ian passed away last year before he was able to see this complete...

    • @rodromano3128
      @rodromano3128 9 месяцев назад

      @@Seanmmvi I noticed the 3way in the vid. Did you hand lay your track work? I would like to change from HO to On30 but I have so much HO equipment and time/age has become very real it’s probably not in the cards. I enjoy seeing the amazing work others do as I plug away on a small shelf switching layout. I actually played around with the idea of a linear design of the Lilliput, which I’m sure Iain would have approved of!

      One more point, you might enjoy taking a look at Carl Brainerd’s RUclips sight, he’s got a beautiful HO logging RR that might provide some ideas/inspiration!

      @@Seanmmvi Outstanding. I’ve always loved that trackplan. All of Iain Rice’s stuff was great, but I thought that was his best. I’d love to do the LL in an N scale coffee table. Of course, On30 is the MOST perfect scale for that plan. Kudos to you!

    Very nice. Lilliput logger by Iain Rice. How are the dimensions of the Layout and the minimum Radius?

    • @Seanmmvi
      @Seanmmvi 9 месяцев назад

      Dimensions are 5x10' - Minimum radius going up to the logging landing is 19" - minimum radius on the mainline is like 24", it's big.
