Yes. Deacon Blue are an excellent band and they sound just as good live in concert as they do on record. Of all the most-celebrated, obvious ’80s pop hits, this one is often sadly overlooked, even though, in my not-so-humble opinion, it’s one of the finest of its era.
I went from 16 years to 26 years old in the 80s and thought I had heard every song from that decade. I mean I listened to EVERYTHING. Rock, Pop, New Wave, Alternative, Country, and R&B. I MEAN EVERYTHING, but somehow I had never heard this song. Then, about 5 or 6 years ago I was watching a movie and there was a scene where the characters went into the kitchen and there was a little clock radio on the counter playing this song. It caught my ear so I rewound the movie 3 or 4 times to listen and couldn't figure out what it was. So, I Shazam'd it and it has been one of my favorite songs ever since. I only wish I had heard it when it came out so I could have attached it to a memory.
This is just pure gold. Loved this track since I first heard it all those years ago and I still absolutely love it. Absolutely brilliant ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙌🙌🙌🙌

Best decade of music for me too..
Yep Hue and Cry were one of the best around at the time in my humble opinion although we won't mention the Proclaimers lol
Still play this today, not ashamed to say and sing loudly in the car to it. Famtastic.
Soft top down on you own tune. Just need one now..😏
🤝🤝👍👍👍
I was singing at home to it last night with my earphones on in the kitchen 🙂
@@kellymaree9286 I go karaoke when it plays on my playlist in the car 😎.
Me too Martin heavenly tune.
Saw these live this year absolutely brilliant ❤
Una gran banda de los 80s. Siguen sonando frescos!
Qué gran década para la música universal!
Vivan los 80s
Born in 93, grew up listening to 80s music. Music isn’t the same anymore, there’s no real meaning! Love the golden oldies 💚
Los '80 '90 y '70 fue, es y será las décadas de la mejor música internacional.
ME 4U❤🇭🇺

Take me back! The joy and fun back then! I'm 62 and still dance in the kitchen to this! ( when they're all out of course....or they would probably put me away)
this made my day.
Hahahaha!! 🤣🤣🤣
You dance away love, or they will have me to reckon with
great days
Kids Listen To SHIT Now :(
When I was a teenager, I always carried Deacon Blue, Depeche Mode and U2 on my walkman. Greetings from Spain
Probably the best band ever from Scotland
Wet wet wet
Both excellent
Dignity along with this are classics and are truly perfect examples of the 80’s
You're a real gone kid..😉
dignity is the only DB record I hate but mostly because it evokes memories of darker days for me personally.
1st Deacon Blue song I heard was, Chocolate Girl and it's still number 1 in my Deacon Blue top 10 .
At 64 yrs old, I still sing this on karaoke, and still everyone dances 💃 🕺 to it, fabulous track, Ricky I'm going to say it, Lorraine is absolutely stunning, gorgeous eyes and fabulous voice, oh and you scrub up well lol 😆 😀 the most underrated band of the 80s, but for me love your music xx
I love this tune no matter how down I feel this song cheers me up
One of my favourite songs ever! Saw them live a few years ago & they were absolutely brilliant😊
This song brings me back to my boarding school days, I was 17 then, bought this single from Woolworth, played this contantly in the dorm, happier times then, no covid 19 shit
Thank you Lorraine. For your voice and talent and yes I was a fan boy here in Wythenshawe in Nanchester. All of the band were wonderful in so many ways, but as the first boy after seven girls, I wished you were at least one of their mates xx
This song takes me back to being about 8/9
Going to dads at the weekend, watching him play Sunday football then down the pub after tapping his foot singing away to this song!!! I absolutely love it 💙💙💙
Still sounds good in 2024.
Went to see them nearly 2 yrs ago at Newcastle.. still as great as ever .. never lost there moves and voices .. Bloody Fantastic 💯👍👍👍
Of all the most-celebrated, obvious ’80s pop hits, this one is often sadly overlooked, even though, in my not-so-humble opinion, it’s one of the finest of its era.
Photo booths were the 1980's equivalent of selfies!
I've never thought of that but you're right!
LOL! True that!
So true
I love this Deacon Blue song Real gone kid great song great band from a 61 years young Irishman fan ❤😊
80s decade...BEST times ever...we truly lived...new times is weak really

If this song was released now it would have a billion views
Shows the dip in quality considering what gets close to that this day n age tbh
There is genius on display here - listen and wonder.
One of the most underrated bands I'm 58 and listened to them for years
This is just pure gold. Loved this track since I first heard it all those years ago and I still absolutely love it. Absolutely brilliant ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙌🙌🙌🙌
Nostalgia is the best feel good drug ever!!!!!!!
