I miss the 80s and all the good people I knew then. They are all gone now we all went through some hard times together. I am 40 years clean and sober today in large part because of those relationships. I love and miss you guys sorley. Thank you Lord for those good memories.
This song never fails to make me cry. I'm only 25 but my parents brought me up listening to deacon blue. Seen them live 4 times. This one just reminds me of how much I loved my parents growing up.

one of my all time "sick in love" songs from my teens! I was seeing a girl who was 3 years younger than me at the time of this fantastic album, she used to babysit my brothers girlfriends daughter, so I would "babysit" with her & listen to deacon blue & the likes of Bobby Brown as well!! this song stuck out forever for me, my 1st love ended her life a couple of years ago,she was 41, a mother of 3, we went our separate ways & I beat myself up of how she ended up doing what she did, I loved her so much but she was too good for me, I always thought that, it wasn't until she died that her sister told me how much she was ashamed at how she had turned out, & that she was never going to be good enough for me, to hear that 20 odd years later truly crushed my heart & blew it to smitherines. I miss my beautiful 1st love so much.
I remember hearing this song whilst on holiday in Tenerife and trying to find out the name of the artist so that I could buy the record, later on l found out that Deacon Blue got their name from a song from any album called Aja by my favourite band Steely Dan because Ricky Ross was also a Steely Dan fan.
Que bueno poder encontrar la música que escuche cuando era un niño.sonidos que me hicieron amar la música, fue por intuición que llegue hasta aquí.puro amor ❤

Always remember Deacon Blue playing in my old man's motor on the old cassette tapes and the numerous babysitters so him and my mum could go to their gigs. Eventually got to take my missus to see them about a decade ago and still listen to them to this day. Superb band with some brilliant albums. Got to go see them again after this Covid is away. Still amazing
First heard this in summer 88 in lagos portugal, the worst time of my life, when someone never made my phone ring, but 32 years later the song still sounds fantastic, and now someone so special, always makes my phone ring x
This was my fave band in the 80s, was totally mad on them.... Kaye knew how much i liked them. When we split in 91 i listened to this one so much over and over.... when we met again after 20 years and got married used to turn the volume up loud in the car or wherever when they came on... wish you could again Kaye Daykin. Hope you are watching over me up there.. will be first xmas without you.....

I don't care what anyone else says but for me Deacon Blue had a completely original sound. Their songs were unique and timeless.
I think that was their problem. People like to be able to pigeon-hole music.
U say daa music is energy pure ????.
I went to see them last night, 31 years after I last saw them. Nothing has changed, still as good as ever, except my sore legs from dancing now.
What a voice he had
Completely agree with you, this song is unique and timeless

Know exactly where you are coming from. Whenever I listen to this album I’m in my mums Fiat Panda in 1989 😂
I was 21 when I saw them live in Scotland in 1990 while traveling around Europe. It still brings back strong emotions.
Amazing song, thats all that needs to be said really.
This song gives my body all goose pimples and tears to my eyes

Always loved this.
1987 Harry's bar Edinburgh and these were days I will never get back.
Most under rated band ever. Genuine genius
This song still blows me away after 30+ years. one of the best songs from the 80s
A great voice.
Nearly 30 years since I first heard this and still love it.
34 years later tonight I discovered the backing vocals for this were provided by the amazing Londonbeat!
for me this is one of their very best songs yet it hardly ever gets any air time
That's a good thing.

Now I know how my mom felt in the 80's listening to her songs from the 60's.
Pale blue eyes
Same old house no ties
A little bit older but not so
Worldly wise
That i can't see
Your light's on me
Making me regretfully say
The wonder of it all was you
And underneath it all it wasn't true
I want you in everything
In everything
In anything i do
When will you make my phone ring
And tell me i can't give you anything
Anything at all now
Tiny steps
From ruthless legs
When you've been walking so long
Now don't you rest
From disharmony
From disunity
From anything that isn't you and me
The wonder of it all was you
And underneath it all it wasn't true
I want you in everything
In everything
In anything i do
When will you make my phone ring
And tell me i can't give you anything
Anything at all now
Tired of chasing old dreams
Tired of wasting days
Tired of waking mornings
Just to wait for you till late
Tired of searching high
Tired of getting low
Tired of listening hard
Just to wait for you to know that
I want you in everything
In everything
In anything i do
When will you make my phone ring
And tell me i can't give you anything
Anything at all now
Enjoy...Germann - Argentina
