I was born in the early 70s and grew up in the 80s in Texas but unfortunately never heard this song until I accidently stumbled upon it yesterday, and I've done listened to it like 50 times since then. It's almost a crime that this didn't get any airplay in the states when it came out.
This perfectly describes what happened to me. Amazing! I went on to marry her 3 years later. We had two kids and we lost her to cancer 7 years later. But those years? Even if I knew (didn't) how it would end? I still would have gone for it. Every damn second was a blessing and I miss her. 12 years without her now and it still hurts like hell. But not everyone gets to be with the love of their life. We were lucky.
Listening to this amazing song and read the significance it has to your life ... I have no words 🥺 except to say that I hope these beautiful songs will forever bring you comfort ♥️

I'm normally singing along to their songs word for word, but not this version cos the lump in my throat stops me, it gets me like you would not believe, this and Circus Lights. I try to show my kids these songs but as expected, they're not interested, so I'm glad I have this precious things all to my self...and by the sound of it, some other DB fans as well👍
Yes, he is missed...obviously by his family, friends, DB, fans...I love his playing on this, just brilliant. DB are still pretty great, but I think I prefer the original line up of the band.
Honestly these Deacon Blue vids are some of the few I've seen where there have been 1000s of views and any dislikes (thumbs down) are at an extreme low. I think that's great to see.
