Goldfinger and his friend are a disgrace to family values in the philippines
It's Bruce!!!!!
lol ALWAYS some loser comments
Says the guy that does nothing for nobody else 😢
what's the purpose of your comment? to try to spread YOUR unhappiness? please get therapy 🙏
Goldfinger happens to be a Great person. 👍
Goldfinger has a big heart. No pun intended. Feeding the kids.
How does one get some money to him to help with his project?
Gold finger is such a good person and a human being. Thank you for your kind heart.
Thanks for this episode. Just want to share filipino mentality on Western safety net mentality. In the Philippines, if you need to eat, you are surrounded by water so go fish. If you can’t fish, the land is fertile so stick something to the ground and it will grow. And before you get old, make some kids to do this for you. Safety net is DIY over there.
Save money for interest bearing account,, get Travel insurance, renewable, apply for PhilHealth, senior discounts and do exercises. Keep shopping around. Preventative is cheaper in the Philippines, such as MD consultation and some diagnostics test, this is if you are receiving US dollars.
In makati being senior citizen has a lot of benefits for Filipino senior, vaccination, hospitalization, free medications, depends not all are free.
Write a living will,!!!
Hi @rl8571 Thank you! Love your take on Filipino resourcefulness! We're loving our life here too.
But also worth noting that Goldfinger is basically cured of diabetes ... bravoooo and kudos to his girlfriend👏👏👏
give credit to him, not his gf
@@wildbill562 Go ahead, don't let anyone stop you 🙄
He looks more fresh and healthier compared to his first interview that he looked so sick and pale at that time..
Hi @MsVroege Thanks for noticing the improvement! We've definitely made some lifestyle changes here.
Extremely valuable information from Goldfinger and you concerning health, insurance and healthcare!
As far as the motorcycle helmets are concerned. I guess that sometimes you just have to realize that this is a different society with different social norms.
Kudos to Goldfinger for the work he does for helping the locals. And all of the other helpful ex-pats also.
You can lead a horse to water but....
Hi @samueldavis2327 Appreciate your understanding and support for our lifestyle here!
Congratulations, Goldfinger, on your better health results. 🎉🎉🎉
Hi @gaylegoeschel9850 Thanks for the congrats! We're thrilled with the progress we've made.

Thank you Goldfinger for feeding the kids ! God sees your heart ! 🙏
Yeah the key to health is a normal weight and eat whole foods, not processed ones, plus exercise your heart and basic muscles
E-BOOK : I will donate labor to help create the e-book. I am a technical writer / editor.
Hi @alabamatechwriter6959 Awesome, thank you! We appreciate your offer to contribute to our e-book project.

Great job. You and Paul make us Americans look great. I will try to find your utube and subscribe. I had to go back usa for couple months but I will be back this month.
Hi @Insidoris14 Thanks, Mr. G.F.! We appreciate your kind words and support.

Hi @lifeadventuresretirement8351 Thank you so much for your kind words and well wishes! We're glad you enjoy the program.
I love the idea of the e-book. I know Paul has many videos on the things I'm wanting to know but it's going to take a good amount of time to get through the hours of videos to understand it. The ebook is just the ticket!
I certainly will look into Goldfinger's philanthropic endeavors.
Hi @plalonde28 Thank you, glad you're excited about the e-book!
What an excellent video! Thanks for the laughs & the info. I absolutely loved it.
Hi @CumbiaDancer5678 Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it!
Good job Goldfinger ….feeding the hungry 😊
Hi @user-dy5pq7tp7g Thanks for the support!
Good lads spreading love
Never a dull moment with Goldfinger😂😂😂
Hi @AidaJof Thanks for watching! We love our adventurous cat, Goldfinger.
Every time you bring this man on your channel, my brain is playing Bond's Goldfinger theme song. 😂
Love it 🤣🤩 007
Hi @JamesParis Thanks for the laugh!
You can't trust any insurance company.
At around 8:15 in the video, Goldfinger mentions that he got MRIs for his ankle problem in Thailand. Here in the states, you practically have to BEG a physician to schedule an MRI because they're so expensive here.
I'm telling you Bangkok Thailand's a place to go for medical unbelievably high-tech and inexpensive and very well trained. They literally cater to foreigners for any kind of medical work in Thailand
@-goldfinger2695
Like yourself, Goldfinger, my wife, has a serving heart. It is going to be really hard for her to see the families and children that are in poverty and don't have enough to eat. I'm sure that when we arrive in the Philippines that she will also want to help.
It needs prior authorization from US Health Insurance, because it is very expensive diagnostic test.
I appreciate the info from Goldfinger regarding first hand experience with the expat health insurance. I have heard other you tubers talk about the need for this without really giving their experience. At 50 I think I'm going to continue to self insure. I'm a Vet and use the VA in Manila but it's very limited even if you're service connected. If you have scripts from the US you can bring those bottles to Mercury and they will refill them for you. I'm told that BP and cholesterol meds are relatively inexpensive.
Meds are relatively cheap and Rose pharmacies are less than Mercury generally
Hi @Steve7318 Thanks for the valuable insights! We've also self-insured in the past, but it's always good to know about other options like expat health insurance.
Goldfinger, we know you have compassion for humankind. We so appreciate you. WE love you!!
Hi @deedeew4040 Thank you, means a lot to me!
Excellent video with pillars of the community leading the charge in helping the community they live in....
Good information
Hi @SpiritRobert-gq3pl Thanks for your support!

Hi @Insidoris14 Thanks, glad you enjoyed Gold Finger's segment! I'll make sure to have more of him on the channel.
I don’t know why but I would love to do service with Goldfinger. I recently retired and l need to look after someone or something. My heart has been with the Philippines. I’ve always felt a natural affinity with the people.❤
Are you here in the Philippines?
You can help with different projects
Or you can donate and watch the video results 👍🙏🙏😊
Hi @EleanorWeldon We're glad you feel that way! It's wonderful you're looking to give back in some way.
Hi Goldfinger, can’t make it there. Not able to financially. Will support your channel. Sending you love and the best of everything. Eleanor
Good seeing you guys again looking forward to seeing your ebook.
Hi @godfreyvonnordeck2056 Thanks for watching! We're glad to be back and can't wait to share our ebook with you soon!
I just want to put this out there, for anyone who is reading these comments, KL Malaysia has premier health care services, is inexpensive comparatively, and they speak way more English than the Thais do. Thailand isn’t the only country in SE Asia that provides options although it seems to get top billing.
Hi @andrewkamchi7478 Thanks for sharing your insight! We'll definitely consider KL, Malaysia as an option too!
Always go with a 500 or 1000 deductible. If you’re not a saver-pay the premiums. If you were young, that’s different but you’re going to have medical needs. You’ll never have a million pesos if it’s true that you live month to month. That’s just human nature.
Hi @Filippines.FeverDream Thanks for the insurance tip! We agree, having some savings for medical expenses is crucial here in the Philippines.
The return of the Finger!
Auto click every time
I saw that too.
Very sligh.
Hi @kevingamblesonlife9999 Glad to have you back, friend!
Years back I gave out free ice cream to kids and see boo. My God there must’ve been 200 kids in line it was a lot of fun I bet I only spent $40.
And the smiles on their faces
Priceless 🤩
@@-goldfinger2695 yep
Gold finger well done for feeding the kids it’s very sad that the Philippino parents didn’t insure that the kids would wear their helmets for safety reasons well done buddy this world needs more good brothers like you thank you both for the video
Hi @margarettownsley9500 Thank you, means a lot! We're just happy to share our experiences.
Rice is life. Save a life with food is best
Hi @mikesimpson9997 Couldn't agree more! Food brings people together here in Dumaguete.
so nice of him for thinking good cause for the children in his community ❤️
Hi @bisayacookgensan Thanks for noticing our efforts to give back!
I agree about savings. I deposit money into a different account so that “ out of sight, out of mind.”❤
Hi @EleanorWeldon Love the strategy! Same here, we separate our funds for a clear view on spending and saving.
Great video!
Both great guys. Ur noble deeds for d betterment of Filipino and their community will be rewarded . God bless ❤🎉
Hi @ThanaykhwamMai-ff4ni Thank you, we appreciate your kind words!
Great show, gentlemen! You are like Abbott and Castello - good chemistry! It's always a treat to catch up with GF. Kudos to you, Mr. GF for giving back and contributing to the community. Too many folks only think about themselves, failing to see the wonderful reward in helping others!
Hi @Rockfan10001 Thanks for the kind words! We appreciate the compliment on our chemistry.
I went to Pacific Cross in Dumaguete. They will not cover heart attack. They will not cover bypass surgery or anything to do with the heart. That’s why I did not go with them. Ask the questions.
Who did you go with for heart coverage?
Exercise, get your blood test, see MD there for all testing, if you receive US dollar it is cheaper to pay. Get all your vaccinations and wear N95 and face mask. It's still cheaper the MD's consultation here and MD is excellent. Save money in case of emergency.
Watch your diet, no smoking, don't eat fast food.
What do you use for usa calling?? Skype or viber?? Thank you.
Screw those PI foreigner insurances.
Read the fine print!!
I've read them all so you don't have to. 😅
Hi @erndoggyful We agree, it's crucial to read and understand insurance policies carefully!
Excellent Video Sir Paul 😊. Goldfinger is One Great Individual and exceptional asset👍. Looking forward to his E Book. When I move there, I would like to help with Feeding the children and other functions as well as farming. I will also come with plans for garbage 🗑 incinerators throughout various areas. And yes I will comply with Philippines government requirements and regulations.
Keep the video's comin .
Stay Safe 💕 💞 🙏 🙏
Hi @rickylee6129 Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Looking forward to Goldfinger's e-book too. Best regards, Paul.
Love seeing you Mr Finger
My .02 cents but if someone doesn’t have the discipline to self insure and not spend the cost of insurance than don’t cancel insurance. Old dog had it right when he suggested to wait on results and put the premium aside.
Self insured for the small/medium stuff. Insure for the catastrophic
Hi @Chr1s-fm6bi Great point, thanks for sharing! We agree that discipline is key in managing expenses here.
Good to see Goldfinger so chirpy and healthy! He is no longer diabetic because he exercises a lot!❤
Hi @juainaar7642 Thanks for noticing! We're glad Goldfinger's doing well too.
another cool Vid with Goldfinger, amazing he got rid of his Diabetes. thats an inspiration and hope.
Hi @wil4596 Thanks for watching! We're glad you enjoyed the video and found it inspiring.
Great interview guys ! First, Mike Onstad is the BEST insurance guy to deal with for ex-pats here (or anyone). But a few corrections on Pacific Cross coverage ... $2500 (not $1K) deductible gets you a 30% discount on premiums. The older you are, the more expensive the premiums. I'm 76 and mine is over $3500/yr and will increase as I get older. I do pay a little extra for TRT rider. And I don't know if you can be treated in another country (except for emergency) but they don't cover airfare.
Hi @mikebingham976 Thanks for the clarification! We appreciate the insight on Pacific Cross coverage and Mike Onstad's expertise.
I may be out of the loop, but I would love to hear about Goldfinger’s pancreatic cancer cure in detail.
Love gold finger!
Thanks for the great content much appreciated myself im coming in a few years much needed information have a great day 😊
Hi @chrisplatt3869 Thanks, glad you found it helpful!
Good to know you're taking action towards better health, Goldfinger. I was in the same boat and it was sinking...lol I changed my eating habits and started exercising more regularly. Lost a bunch of weight and now my A1C is normal and BP is normal. Coming to Phils at the end of May. Hope to see you guys there.
Looking fwd to that meet Mark ❤👍🙏
Hi @markbrown1622 Thanks, Goldfinger! We're glad you're taking control of your health, and we hope to meet you in Dumaguete soon!
This is exactly why Dumaguete/Valencia appeals to me. Like what you all do. I'm much like Goldfinger.
Hi @danielwarnes7231 Glad to hear that, appreciate the support!
My brother had a quintuple bypass surgery at Vanderbilt hospital in Nashville ,Tn. They did a great job, but it costed 1,250,000 US Dollars for the surgery.
You two should be a Comedy Team... I LMAO most of this interview... And it was a serious subject!
Gold finger is a riot. Good chemistry
Hi @MattSmith-pf5di Thanks for watching and loving our content!
Goldfinger a kind man with a purpose in life he will leave this world we live in poor but lots of good memories of him good video thanks
I'll leave this world rich with happy thoughts and great friends 🙏
Much more valuable than $$$$
Hi @pierremorin4775 Thanks for sharing your thoughts on our video! We're glad you enjoyed it.
Goldfinger you're doing great losing weight keep up the good work.
If I should ever decide to move there, health care is something I'd never have to worry about. Being retired military, I'm covered by Tricare, even in the Philippines.
Awesome 😎👍
Just keep your part B
Hi @stan1027 That's a big plus! We've been very pleased with the medical care here too.
If you have a long-term residence in the Philippines, I think you're qualified for Phil Health insurance.
Not the greatest coverage and high co-pay especially for foreigners
@@-goldfinger2695better than nothing!!!
Hi @cristinacejudo1924 Good point! We've got PhilHealth coverage and it's been a huge help. Thanks for sharing your insight!
you two are a great duo, Laurel and Hardy. thanks for the humor and the serious information. Goldfinger has the heart of gold. I applaud him and you for all the caring you guys give. Was wondering if Goldfinger checked into Phil Health for medical insurance. I agree, it's very expensive for health insurance for older expats, like myself...74. Self insured scares me a little, but I can understand why many expats don't get the insurance. Not having a nest egg of large amount, the insurance would seem a safety net.
PhilHealth is best for citizens of the Philippines. It's not designed and does not cover a whole lot for expats
Looks like Goldfinger has lost a lot of weight his face, cheeks and neck look much slimmer.
Congrats
The problem with expats cleaning up rubbish is you will never get ahead of the locals throwing their rubbish everywhere. So many times I see kids and adults buying something to eat and just throwing the packaging on the ground as they walk away even if the shop provides a rubbish bin for them to use. If they don't give a shit about their country, I'm not going to clean up for them.
And maybe if they see that people care it will run off on them. Let's show them and teach them by example rather than throw In the towel . ❤
Hi @davidwilles8577 We agree, education is key. Changing habits takes time and effort from locals themselves.
I met Goldfinger last month when I was in the Philippines [cool guy]we talked about giving back. I did a little charity, Our money goes a long way there.
Yes, we can afford to give back , I appreciate your help ❤
Hi @donwutzlakesideadventures That's amazing! We're glad to hear you're doing your part to give back to the community.
I haven’t always enjoyed you twos’ dynamic but you guys were informative and funny today. Really enjoyed it ty.
Hi @Filippines.FeverDream Thanks for watching! Glad we could bring a smile to your face today!
Great conversation and the comparison. I looked at Pacific cross and because my age is about the same as Paul have come to the same conclusion I’ll self insure but I am retaining a backup Medicare with the idea something really ad happens get stabilized and go to Guam, Hawaii or California to use Medicare. I Signed up for a high deductible $2800 annual maximum out of pocket which I could easily cover. My only experiences have been really inexpensive for a Doctor visit and a Dental visit in Philippines.
Hi @markrenne6136 Thanks for sharing your experience! We've also had good luck with medical care here, very affordable.
Juat to make it explicitly clear to your audience, accidents are covered immediately, everything else in 30 days. Preexisting conditions are subject to a 12 month waiting period and an additional premium to cover at your option. Permanent exclusion is possible depending on the severity.
Thank you Michael Onsted of Pacific Cross Insurance
FYI, Insurance is a necessity, especially if you're so far from home , medicare will not help unless you go home which takes more than a day travel and at a very costly ticket .
Anyone traveling from afar should get international coverage before leaving home. JS
Hope for the best
Plan for the worst ❤
Hi @monstadable Thanks for clarifying our health insurance options here!
Tell Gold Finger he’s right. In 2 trips the the Philippines, my blood sugar dropped 35%. Each time.
It might be the food or lack of fast food
But I think it's the reduced stress as well
I was thinking lots less lab produced processed foods. they use sugar not super up corn syrup. the markets were fresh fruits. and there ws always a lot more physical activity.@@-goldfinger2695
great paul.
Self insure for the small and medium issues. Insure for the catastrophic.
Uncle Paulie belting out another home run! Boy Goldfinger sure does seem to have his heart in the right place. That’s gotta be frustrating to put so much effort into a project and not see a return. Don’t beat yourself up over it, all you can do is try. Great info on the medical insurance issue, does anyone just use Medicare/ Medicaid and go to Guam ?
No, not worth the cost of transportation and housing, the states are too slow at making appointments with the requirements of referrals.
Hence it takes months to get anything done in the states and your MEDICARE deductible is all you would pay for the procedure here or in Thailand.
Besides being only 15% of the cost in the States ,Thailand has better equipment and are faster too.
Hi @HexFlex-ss9rm Thanks for the support! We're doing our best to make a difference here in Dumaguete.
Still laughing....so funny this video! Fantastic job Goldfinger to get healthy! Good info so thanks!
Hi @cyndig1670 Thanks for the laugh and the kind words!

Hi @bareski22 Thanks for watching!
You never know how good your insurance is until you need it. Don’t be cheap with you health
What a great idea to feed the kids and brilliant idea for ebook
Hi @philrose7716 Thanks! Feeding the kids and sharing our experiences has been incredibly rewarding.
Great job and effort by Goldfinger! Glad he is doing something he loves as I too love children and have taught for so many years, but my disability keeps me down in various ways. Still, you guys are to be congratulated on all you do for the community there!
Thank you Juan Carlos
Hi @juancarlosvaldes4538 Thank you for your kind words and congratulations! We're grateful for Goldfinger's dedication.
Thank you Paul for this interview. It validates our decision not to get Pacific Cross with the same reason that my husband is not covered with certain conditions. They diagnosed my husband with Dyslipidemia which means high cholesterol in 1 blood work. We decided to self insured for now until we find a better health insurance coverage.
Many other ways to get hurt here , stroke or heart attack is only 1 way
Broken limbs
Back surgery
Liver or kidney problems that require medical procedures can be expensive
1 expat had a dislocated elbow from tripping over a step. After 50,000 pesos they could not re locate it ,he had a chipped bone and an infection. 7 days in the hospital and an implant replaced shoulder , etc. 150,000 pesos
That was just an elbow
Imagine if he got hit by a motorcycle or car 😢😮
Exercise
Hi @annasd8435 Glad I could help! Self-insurance can be a good temporary solution, and I wish you both the best in finding suitable health insurance soon.
Great Video Paul !!! I always wondered why Goldfinger was donating helmets instead of feeding the kids. The food thing and starving kids and retired Filipinos has been an issue over there a very long time. Remember, for just 1 meal they need very high calorie food regardless of nutrient value. Yes - Rice is Life, but fatty foods can be very helpful in those settings as well. My wifes family does not have much and I help with food, medical and dental costs for her parents as well as her daughter, (my daughter now that we are married), and her parents are around 70 and rely totally on family and still go hungry when visiting 2 of the other sisters. It is very sad to see.
Yes , very sad that the government doesn't help much here
Paul you crack me up!! I am now the same age as you.
Thx for another great video. Gold Finger and Paul helped me understand more about the expat health insurance . A bit sad however that you had to revert to “ass grabbing …nice that you are trying to help the community.😊 I’m terrible at rolling wrappers for Lumpia BTW.
So was I at first , but after several hundred , I'm an expert now 😂
Hi @timcoughlin5834 Thanks for watching! Glad we could help with expat health insurance. Thanks for your kind words!
Good job Goldfinger! You look much better for sure.
What type diabetes did you have 1 or 2?
great video goldfinger 🤣 joking good job fellas
Hi @jerrystanley6820 Thanks for watching!
Good guys with Great intentions trying to pay forward to the local community as an example of what all expats should do.
That's a Real Expat 👍❤❤❤
Hi @paulk8444 Thanks for your kind words! We're just happy to be a part of this wonderful community.
Thanks-Old Dog-It’s all about the kids!
Thank you very much
6 days in a good Cebu hospital was $8,500 US dollars, from accident falling off a ladder after getting shocked by 240volts.
Ouch ,RU Ok ? 😮
What hospital were you at?
Insurance?
Yes, setting aside money does not work when the industry inflate the serviceprices.
Offcourse it does not cost the hospital 8500 dollar!;)
But that is the bill thry charged you.
While for insurance companies, they get heavily discounted prices at the hospitals etc.
And THAT is the number 1 reason why people get forced to go through insurance companies (instead of just saving up own money).
Basicly capitalistic corruption and greed.
Cpap is cheaper without insurance. You could buy a resmed air mini out of pocket that can be powered by a usb power bank which is perfect for traveling and regular use in countries with brownouts.
Hi @honestvalue7368 Thanks, great tip! We'll consider that option.
anything u want get it from india its cheaper, plus medical is ggod and cheaper in india, its a medical tourism place. enjoy🖐
Medical coverage is getting trickier and trickier....just try to stay active...eat right...and good sleep increases the odds of better health.🙏🙏🙏🙏
And then you may qualify! 😂
Hi @danielhuntington2116 Thanks for the advice! We're doing our best to stay healthy here in Dumaguete.
Been in Dumagette visiting filipino family for a week, ferry to Mindanao tomorrow for a wedding, last in Negros 2019,the increase in traffic is brutal,it's still an OK place, but man,so busy,so many more foreigners too, amazing the difference a few years makes, just an observation 😁
Hi @andrewmcmurray684 Thanks for sharing your experience! We've noticed the growth too - it's crazy how fast things change.
The essence of The Philippines.
"What was the subject? hahahhah."
Exactly. :)
Great interview. Goldfinger is a great guy and a very giving person.
Hi @ronaldhein5739 Thanks, we're glad you enjoyed it!
Expats should have at least $20,000 USD set aside for emergencies...
Well , that doesn't always happen
I suggest doing some research on okra water first thing in the morning to help lower your blood sugar. The organic carnivorous diet is also good for good health.
😊😊😊😊
Medical is important😊
