I’ve been a follower of both of you since the pandemic. I can see both hitting it off you both have positive personalities. I’m glad it happened so much fun .
Hi @bigdave5946 Thank you for following along! We're happy to share our experiences with others.
Old Dog and Richie Mac, it doesn’t get much better than this! What a surprise collab!
Paul, on of your best videos. The chemistry between the two of you was very infectious. He’s a very nice and positive guy. We need more people like him.
Hi @tombkk1322 Thank you so much! Means a lot coming from you!
Can't believe you got Zoom to Thailand vlogger on your show! Dude has an outstanding channel and his personality is hilarious. Good to see you're doing well.
This gentleman sussessfuul because of his attitude = when I go somewhere I embrace the culture! 🎉❤🎉 keep living and loving and spreading kindness as you do.
Hi @brianleonard6885 Love it! Embracing the culture makes all the difference. Thanks for the kind words!
Philippines makes it so much easier for foreigners to stay longer than Thailand.
Hi @warrpedd Couldn't agree more! We've had a seamless experience settling into life here.
Funny 😆 I also had a Gilligan’s Island experience. I was just visiting a friend who retired to Thailand and I fell in love with the place immediately. 2015. The cliche response was returning to the US and immediately booking my next trip to Thailand. I moved to Bangkok in 2017 after three month long tourist trips. Married a Thai woman, lived in Bangkok 6 years, built a house in Isaan in 2022, and have been living in the countryside for 14 months.
I agree with your guest. Thailand handled Covid pretty darn well, not perfect, but I am glad I was here rather than the US.
Not mentioned but important to me is the religious cultural differences between Thailand and the Philippines. I am non-religious. It was a surprise to me how nice it was to be in a Buddhist, that is non-Christian, culture. I didn’t think about the Christian religious background to the US until I was immersed in the nonjudgmental Buddhist culture of Thailand. In a Catholic country the holidays would repel/bore me. Here in Thailand they are colorful, vibrant and interesting. Different strokes for different folks.
Hi @martypoll Thanks! We've enjoyed our experience with Filipino culture too!
Wow! Paul, I just loved this collaboration… you two are my favorite vloggers and you guys really seemed to feed off of each other. I loved every minute of it!👊🏽
Hi @sassinthepius Thank you so much! We're glad you enjoyed the collab!
Thai has healthy food, better infrastructure, less crimes, better health medical service etc
Just don't breathe that Air from Nov - Apr
But can you get a girl friend if you're an older expat in Thailand??..
If not , then Thailand 🇹🇭 can't compete with the Philippines 🇵🇭 👍🏾
And language barrier. A biggie unless you want to learn the language or become soooooo isolated. You need people interaction or things go downhill mentally.
@@RONALD...... How old, like grandpa age?
And Thailand also has the worst, most expensive and complicated Immigration visa requirements in ALL of southest Asia.
No one is jealous of you Paul.
Hi @douglasmichel1000 Thanks for watching!
What a great video, Paul. I could have sat there watching you all day. You truly are brothers from another mother😅 Lots of energy, goodwill, freshness and great outlook on life. You needed a friend like this one Pauley🌟🌟🌟
Richie has no idea what a racist Paul is
Hi @AidaJof Thanks for the kind words! Means a lot to me.
You guys are LIVING life at the fullest!!! Great interview 👍
Hi @jackbear4528 Thanks, we're loving every moment of it!
Oh my gosh!! Almost at 100k subscribers! How exciting!!! 💜
Hi @oliviar267 Thanks for your excitement! We're thrilled too!
Nice! I love the collaboration!
Thank you, Amazing Interview! Please keep up the wonderful work.
Hi @phmiii Thank you, we appreciate your support!
I have lived in the Philippines for a total of 9 years, and really non stop for 6 years in Mindanao. I am writing this from my room in Pattaya, Thailand. I have lived for 4 years in Thailand in total. I live here because of financial issues, but I am SO happy that I will soon return to Mindanao and meet my wife and my boy again.
Thailand is a great place to stay for a couple of weeks, but nothing can beat the friendliness of the Filipinos.
Stuff is WAY cheaper here in Thailand than in the Philippines, all from rentals to groceries.
Summer is here now in Thailand, and I have no Airconditioner (not allowed here due to the electrical setup that can not handle AC), so I am basically living in the shower here, buying ice and putting it in the air cooler that I have here.
There are so many sexy ladies here in Thailand but they are way out of my League. In the Philippines the young sexy women love me, so I feel like a Rock Star over there. Here in Thailand I am a nobody.
Hi @vikingrogaland2844 Thanks for sharing your experience! We love the Filipino culture and friendliness too. Stay cool in Pattaya!
Here in Thailand we are officially 3 weeks into the hot season. Even Thais complain about the heat. For me, I’m fine with the climate all year long. Seven years later I still am repelled from the the damp chilly foggy climate of the San Francisco Bay Area. The tropical climate was one of the draws to SE Asia.
Everyone points to the December-February high season but I actually prefer and love the June-November rainy season. This is when Thailand is lush and green with blue skies with puffy white clouds ☁️ except for the Biblical downpours which seldom last more than an hour.
Hi @martypoll Love the enthusiasm! We're glad you enjoy the rainy season in Thailand, it's definitely a unique charm of the tropical climate.
Nice guy, great vibes!!! Thank you Paul!!!
Paul.. You are kind of my hero & i've been watching you for a few years.. This interview is one of your better ones.. I'm almost 83 years old & my dream is to have an interview with you.. I'm married to a filipino for 14 years now.. There is a 32 year age gap between us but we are still strong.. My hope is i live long enough to live full time in the Philippines.. Keep on doing what you're doing what you are.. Go cat go.....
Love to see the interview
Hi @BillyCarmack Thanks, means a lot coming from you! I'm glad you enjoyed the interview. Hopefully, our paths will cross soon. Best regards.
As usual, Excellent interview!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another great interview Paul Keep up the good work
Hi @LeslieEaston Thanks! Appreciate your support!
Another great video. Thank you. Very fair conclusions too. It really is a matter of personal preferences
Hi @PaulOviews Thanks, appreciate your feedback!
Loved this episode Paul
Hi @Gary-kg4ok Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Another great thing about the Philippines is that you can stay on a tourist visa for 3 years, take a Thai vacation, and get another 3 years.
Hi @therehastobesomethingmoore That's a great strategy! We've done it ourselves, actually.
Great video!
Great interview. Thanks
What a fun video....two of my favorite people
Thanks! Great fun listening. Your talks are prime time TV quality
Thank you very much 😊
Probably the most honest down to earth interview. I live full time in Thailand for the reasons mentioned. However, the Philippines has the most friendly English speaking Filipinos. The weather is about 10° overall cooler. Humidity is tough when it's 93° daytime & cools to 87° at night in Thailand.
The Filipina women are hard working and willing to relocate. Thailand women generally prefer Thailand to stay life long.
Hi @lostinasia25 Thanks for the kind words! We agree, Filipino hospitality is unmatched.
One of your best interviews... ❤
GREAT INTERVIEW!!! HAVE THIS GUY BACK!
Hi @WinstonLorde Thanks for the love! We're glad you enjoyed the interview.
Great interview Paul with Ritchie and wish him the best in Thailand!
Hi @juancarlosvaldes4538 Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Solid interview Paul, thanks for doing this one. Very informative interview with lots of information shared! Great job
Glad you enjoyed it!
Uncle Paulie knocking it out of the park again! Another great interview with another great guy !! ❤❤❤🎉

Hi @HexFlex-ss9rm Thanks, mate! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Great interview thanks fellas
Hi @sagora3114 Thanks for watching!
Great video. And Paul with the shoutout to Coffeyville Kansas! I was surprised to hear that he knew where it's at. :)
Hi @ericg9092 Appreciate the love for Coffeyville, Kansas! We're glad to represent our hometown in this corner of the world.
Welcome back Ritchie. I began my southeast Asia journey in Hong Kong, but Philippines is where I found myself again.
Always watching you, even when I was in Africa.
Appreciate you!!! 💯🙌🏽
Mr. Paul is a true Gem! Wise man that I take notes from..... definitely appreciate his perspective 💯💯💯💯
Hi @malikkweli8627 Thanks for watching and for your kind words!
The Philippines will catch up in time give it time guys leave the U.S. lets build a better world overseas lets not destroy their culture live and embrace their culture
Yah, the Philippines will catch up in about another 20 - 30 yrs or so.
If PI can setup and market their visas towards westerners looking to make the move they will catch up sooner than later. Thailand visas are slowly becoming harder and more expensive.
The Philippines is great but will not "catch up"...... don't be ignorant to the facts
Philippines will catch up if we get rid off the Current president …corruption is back sadly
You need the patience of Job to live in the Philippines, if you easily get upset, it is definitely not for you. Anything you can do in a few minutes and in 1 visit in the US, might take you 2 or 3 weeks and multiple visits in the Philippines...
Sorry sir, closed. Sorry po, no change. Brownout. No appointments only earliest time to be seen, better get there 2 or 3 hours before. No water today, sometimes several days, do you want to get up at 4 and store water every couple days to bathe and flush toilet? After a typhoon you won't have wifi or cell for weeks. It just goes on and on and on. If you are easy going, can deal with that and you can plan well around it, you will be fine, if not, go to Thailand or Vietnam.
I picked Thailand, specifically Chiang Mai, for several reasons. It feels more like Asia, if you know what I mean. Some of the best motorcycling in the world. Medical care is top notch. There is more history and, hate to say it, but it's cleaner. Of course the food and coffee culture also. Don't get me wrong, I love the Philippines, but for me Thailand comes up on top.
I live in Chiang Mai and know how you feel!😊
You are right about everything you stated and and I have lived in the Philippines over 33 years now but my heart is still there in Thailand............
don't forget to add your illegal drugs
from your comment sounds like your forgot to take your drugs today what are you even talking about @@filipinocaress-xi5pq

Paul, I just recently joined your channel and have watched 6--8 of your videos and enjoyed them so much. I think you have chosen a great wife she is hard working and seems SO kind. Keep up the good work. 😊
Awesome, thank you!
You guys are awesome 😎. What you both are talking about is so true. Thanks for such a great interview with great questions and answers!
Hi @andreasjohnson9041 Thanks for watching and we're glad you enjoyed the video!
Love this very much!!
Thank you!!
Another great interview! I say go wherever you can find love or your soulmate. Both countries have pros vs cons. Family is also very important.
Interesting to see these guys together.. great 👍
Hi @goodguyswinning8721 Thanks! We're glad you enjoyed the comparison.
I was hoping these 2 guys would meet. Great!
Hi @frantzlauredant3425 Thanks for your enthusiasm! We're glad you enjoyed the video.
Hey Paul, how are you? I enjoy your content. Keep up the good work brother 🐸🤗
Thank you, I will
Wow, my two best guy in the world.
Totally agree, two of my favorites channels. Great information. Great entertainment
May have go their and see if it real.
@@JefeLee1267come and see , you will find out Paul. is a racist , i cant speak for Richie . Paul is bisexual and can be found in the glory hole in Dumaguete
@ZoomToThailand HOLLYWOOD SHUFFLE!!!! Loved that movie when it came out. Seen it more times than I can count. Endlessly quotable. Great to see you on Paul's channel.
Thanks! I HAD A GREAT TIME!
03:42 That's exactly the vibe I get from Pattaya.
What a fun interview. I will have to check out Zoom To Thailand.
This really has me torn. I have been thinking about maybe making the Philippines a second home for the winters and English is a huge factor but,,,, you've made a compelling argument for Thailand too. Oh and the weather seems like an easier adjustment as well in the PI for those of us going back and forth between the states and SEA. Internet is a big deal for me but I hear there's one or two places in the Philippines that have a pretty solid connection and stable power. I guess so long as I don't buy anything we don't have to choose. We can do both and more.
Enjoyed very much. Been to Thailand, Philippines are on my list.
Thanks Guys Very Informative ! Hope All Of You Have A Great Night ! 🙂🙂🙂🙏🙏🙏💯💯💯
Hi @scottmason6282 Thanks! Appreciate your feedback!
You're Welcome Paul ! Hope You And Mae Have A Wonderful Day ! 🙂🙂🙂🙏🙏🙏💯💯💯
Hey Paul, I’ve commented on several of your videos and first off. I agree with you 90% of people that are watching that I’ll never be over there now. I’ve been to Thailand eight times and I’ve written it off I I can’t speak their language I’m constantly putting my foot in my mouth. Do I think they have a better infrastructure yes do I think they havebetter medical facilities yes do I think the food is better? Yes, but the Philippines is where I’m gonna be.
Always the language barrier cause humans generally are social beings.
Hi @whynotthailand2024 Thanks for sharing your experience! We're glad you found our content helpful in making an informed decision.
Good vlog Paul, Zooms a nice guy.
Hi @Dave_Tae Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Funny interview 😂 was great 👍
Hi @jamesb777driver Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Good points about the weather and tourist seasons starting at 16:13. Those two are not often mentioned as disadvantages of Thailand vs the PI.
Hi @samiam8114 Thanks for pointing that out! Weather and tourist seasons can be a big factor in expat life. We've definitely noticed that difference here in Dumaguete.
There are haters everywhere. Keep living your life and putting the good vibes out.
Awesome to see you too connect; I enjoy both channels' content. I've also thought about setting up a homebase in one of the two countries. While my initial choice was going to be Thailand, the visa situation for under 50 individuals is getting harder there. The Philippines just seems to be the easier of the two. But as ya'll mention, there is nothing stopping me from jumping between the two.
Hi @EndlessPursuits79 Thanks for watching! We're glad you enjoy our content and considering both countries for your expat adventure.
I’m just a gal in Manhattan. I don’t know how you ended up in my feed or why I’m listening to this, but you are a great storyteller! Lol.
Great interview
Hi @alastairfraser8177 Thanks!

Two of the top dogs from coast to coast together!
Two nice guys, nice video Pau thanks for sharing.
Hi @Manila-sb3sn Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Interesting contrasts. I love both countries. Both are beautiful and have beautiful people. Great interview Paul. Retired Working for You is an excellent channel for everything Thailand
Glad you enjoyed it
Great conversation!! I recognize my man from some movies, sitcoms. Good actor!
Your man ? 🤔 hmmm you on the low
Hi @kevinkennedy4305 Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video!
Hey Paul, you and sunshine shoulders I considered the Expat godfathers of the Philippines 🇵🇭 but Richie(Zoom to Thailand) and James(Chocolate Man in Thailand) are the Expat godfathers of Thailand 🇹🇭. I shared with you in past comments that I want to spend half of my time in Thailand 🇹🇭 and the other half in the Philippines 🇵🇭,so that I can have the best of both worlds.
Dig That!
Hi @GoodMan-fq2rf Thanks for sharing your thoughts! We're glad to be part of your Philippine experience.
Wow legendary interview
Hi @ruel_1 Thanks!
It's not about the weather, I'm 55 and live in Phoenix, AZ and it's 90 to 120 degrees 8 months of the year!...it's about in all honestly the woman you like and the life style and the comfort of living and medical care is the most important regardless!
Hi @LoveScottland Well said! Lifestyle, women, and medical care are key factors for many expats. Thanks for sharing your perspective!
Richie Mac actor turned director from Los Angeles California by way of Chicago. I have starred in over 50 national commercials from McDonald’s, to IBM, to coca cola to Disney World. I have worked with Barry Levinson, Joe Piytka and Michael Bass to name a few. By watching them, I caught the bug for filmmaking. Mentored by Robert Townsend as an actor and director, and graduating from New York Film Academy. I learned all the facets of Filmmaking I was best in, from writing to directing to editing. I believe to be a good director, you have to be a good editor. To me, they go hand-in-hand.
I’m known for being not only super talented, easy to work with, and extremely versatile. I grew up in South Central but was raised in a conservative Jewish family where I had to keep kosher during the week and deal with Gangs whe I went home on the weekends. I am not afraid of hard work, I know how to meet deadlines and I love working inder pressure. Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing from you on any and all quality projects, no matter the budget.
Hi @philrose7716 Thanks for sharing your impressive background, Richie! We appreciate your enthusiasm for filmmaking and hope to collaborate someday!
I love this guy, going to check out his channel immediately. His description of the women in Thailand versus the Philippines has me now set on Thailand! I love thin women with more traditional Asian features. That’s my next destination…
Awesome! Enjoy!
Yeah . . . I wouldn’t agree that all the women in Thailand are thin. What I would say about Thailand, and I suspect the rest of SE Asia, is that they are feminine.
Just remember: u re nobody for a Thai lady .
U re a rock star for a Philippina.
I ve been to both countries
Hi @BadEinsteinReal Thanks for checking us out and considering Dumaguete as a retirement spot too! We're glad you enjoyed the video.
I live in a part of the Phils that I would not trade for anywhere in Thailand. Super clean air all year, crystal clear waters and very peaceful. I love Thailand too ( parts of it) and it's just a couple hours away for a vacation. Thai food is definitely better, but that is why I have a garden to grow things like Basil and mint etc.
Our internet is quite good where I am.
What part of Thailand did you visit, and where is the best place to live in your opinion?
I have been all over Thailand except the northeast, but have been south of there in Cambodia.
I live part time in Anda Bohol.
Hi @mikec5451 Thanks for sharing your positive experience in the Philippines! We're loving our life here too.
Great video and the points made were a bullseye in my book.
I was 49 when i landed in the Philippines, one month later i turned 50. This move was the single most best birthday present to myself. Even more so than the home i had bought myself in America. I didn't think life could get any better than being a paid in full home owner; boy was i wrong! I would rather live in a hut here vs a mansion there. Improving my health from work related hazards and my social life was paramount, and ✔️✔️. This May ill be 51 and I'm happily dating a young kind hearted smoke show with a high sense of traditional family values. They way most of these young ladies think about life just hits differently. Far from the dysfunction and abstract dating agendas i had grown to expect living in the U.S. 50 years later you'll turn and ask yourself, where did it go and what has it gained me? But here i live day by day happier than ever 😎 no questions asked and no regrets.
Hi @Max-oi9es Thanks for sharing your amazing story! We're glad to hear you've found happiness in the Philippines.
That was a great interview Big Dog😂. And I know the movie he mentioned well. 👍
Hi @soundsformeditation8531 Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Paul this is so funny love you guys!
Hi @DanielDiaz-yr8vi Thanks for watching and laughing with us!
😎👍🇺🇲
My thoughts exactly.
I'd like to bounce back and forth whenever the mood strikes me.
Go take advantage of what each countries has to offer.
The Phils to relax and recuperate at a nice little homebase.
Thailand for the food, exploration and so on.
( Yes I know the Philippines has a million things to see and experience, but I can just say "food" 😁)
Cheers to yhe both of you from Fluffy in the PNW Seattle WA area.
✌️
Speaking for myself, I love both of you. Hello from Jomtein Thailand.
Hi @williammit1332 Thanks! We appreciate your kind words and are glad to have you along on our expat journey!
HI PAUL , EXCELLENT INTERVIEW. He seems like a nice funny guy.
Not that anybody cares BUT MEDICAL issues are STOPPING me from being there.

Paul not all of Thailand is hot all the time the weather in Northern Thailand Chiang Mai Chiang Rai is far cooler then in the south of Thailand
Hi @patrickcabezadebaca5425 Great point! We've experienced a similar climate variation here in Dumaguete, with milder temps at higher elevations.
