One of your better interviews IMO. Good dude that he doesn’t play it like he was taken advantage of, rather lived and learned. Of different note, I opine that folks coming over need time to slow down. Recalibrate expectations. Learn to be content with themselves. Listen more and talk less. Allow themselves to be successful. It’s a wonderful feeling when the holiday wears off, the insecurities vanish, and genuine happiness flourishes, and you become aware and confident. Unplugging from social media and instead, networking with living human beings. As great as advanced western culture is, the absence of the aforementioned is what is largely destroying people and culture. I’m off my soap box. Great interview Paul. And good luck Mike 👍🏼🇺🇸

I've found in most cases that the person who supposedly scammed you actually never really asked you for money, but many guys are so fricking desperate that they are throwing money at these women. The hype from many of the bloggers is so extreme in the battle to get subscribers that they are pimping the women in the philippines out . We all know that if something is too good to be true, then it probably is, and that should be your first major red flag . To many idiots are coming over for a broad and not for themselves, and that is a recipe for disaster. I'm guilty of meeting a woman online, and I have actually gone over 4 times, and we traveled around the philippines visiting many different places. She is my liason and tour guide as we are boyfriend and girlfriend. Regardless of what happens, I'm doing what I need to do to find the place that's right for me.

They tell stories., and hope you feel sorry for them. Getting taken for a 50,000 peso haul (or more) is one thing, but you know its OK to lose $100 in Vegas on slots for entertainment, but its not OK to lose 5000 peso on a Filipina who is also entertaining you and that it might also help her? Or $20 on a movie theater with popcorn, and you can't give her 1000 peso for a half sack or rice to feed her family? But you're the manly man who wont get taken advantage of. Do this girl a favor, and leave her. Next time you visit just go rent a bar girl for the week. At least be honorable. I think you are just using her as a sex toy for while you are on vacation and in the meantime you are keeping her locked up and taking away her opportunities to marry a decent man and maybe get out of that hell hole.

My two credit cards and my bank said they no longer suggest countacting them to let them know you are traveling. I called and they said, we don't need that information. Our system now is able to track your purchases and determine that you are traveling. I found that somewhat disheartening. They recommened using your card at the airport which would show their AI system that you are starting out your travels.

I have to chime in about the 'foreigner' price of things and the Filipino price. That does exist in some places. My wife and I went to Bohol Beach Club and the clerk plainly said, foreigner price and Filipino price. Also, when I bought tires, tubes, or whatever at a motorcycle shop, some of them charged the 'kano price' that Filipinos didn't pay.
Once we had a flat on the motorcycle while traveling to the next town from Dipolog City, we found a vulcanization shop, and as they were fixing the tire -all the while talking to each other. Later I asked my wife "What were they talking about?" She said one of the guys was saying since I was an American they should have charged twice the amount.
However, in most establishments like restaurants, etc, the prices are the same.

Happy to hear Mike (or others) thinking in Pesos and not Dollars when 'donating' to family or girlfriends. When my girlfriend became my fiance I asked her how many Pesos she thought she needed to live; she said about 3000. So, that is what I gave her each month. A wise friend of mine told me when considering what to send the family of girlfriend(s), ALWAYS think or ask in Pesos, not Dollars. It was words of wisdom that I have used since.

I think the problem is that if you want immediate gratification, you need to pay a premium for it. For example, if you want laundry done quickly... pay them 2x the standard price to prioritize it. If you are on a budget, set yourself up for success... plan to leave your laundry there for three days before picking it up. That way, when you go pick it up, it's done, and you won't be disappointed. If your personality can't adjust to what I call "hurry up and wait" situations, you are only going to be frustrated.

Hi Paul. Your channel is growing! Sooner or later, you will have a conundrum since your earnings from Google will be approaching that magical number a retiree can make while collecting Social Security. As you know, once the government sees your Google earnings statement is over that amount , you will be penalized. Always something.

Isn’t he now over his full retirement age of 66 or 67?
If so, no limit to earnings.

For Americans who want to phone America, just set up a Google Voice account and you can phone any US phone number for free from anywhere in the world. (You do have to have a US-based landline or mobile number that you can validate it with though.)

I have been seriously scammed We are talking high 6 digits over 14 years. (She was Canadian! haha!! ) I finally wised up, got a painful divorce and eventually married a Filipina I met on Date in Asia 10 years ago. We have a beautiful daughter and living part time in Bohol. We have built three homes in the province. One is a vacation rental that makes enough that we COULD retire this year if we really wanted.
When I first met her I DID send here money every month and spent 5 months a year there before sponsoring them to come to Canada.

Interesting interview with Mike ,Paul that pricked my ears when you were talking about Social Security in the USA and I'm guessing that's equal to Centrelink in Australia here.we cant get away with leaving our shores in Australia with out any government department as they are all hooked in with Border Force ,Department of Customs & Immigration computer system so if you haven't setup your pension or you are out of the country to long they will or can shut your pension off .So you cant just say you are visiting the Philippines.

Another nice video. Paul, if you could do it again knowing what you know now at 69, would you of still started pulling the trigger at 62 from Las Vegas or would you had waited until your full Social Security retirement age at 67 to have more money before moving to the PH? I’m on the fence about it. I might fully retire at 60 on an annuity but delay collecting my SS until 67. Can one American retiree live comfortably over there on $1,500 a month and a couple on $2k a month? Thank you my friend.

I was under the impression there are too many foreigners in Dumaguete. Was there for a few days. Ground Zero ID a great place fir coffee and food. Do need to find a place to stay with better WiFi. Looking forward to possibly meeting some Xpats but generally wsnt to be among the natives.

I have been to Dumagute twice. 2017 and 2019. One of my impressions was the number of foreigners AS COMPARED TO OTHER AREAS I HAVE BEEN TO. My wife is from Hinigaran and i have never even seen one there. Our home in Bacolod has a decent number of them. I can understand why people have that opinion.
    Take care.

I've been married for 22yrs. From day one I gavemy wife a Credit Card, she rarely used it and when she did it was only for the house. Today we have 3 joint Credit Cards and nothings changed. If we want something outside of maintain the house including food we consult each other. I've seen many expats treat their wives or girlfriend like a slave with no rights or complain about her children constantly. Initially Mike said he and PJ had difficulty connecting. Mike realized he was new and took his time in letting the kid know him.
