They changed the tip on the loading screen from “A common card can outperform a legendary if PLACED right” to “A common card can outperform a legendary if it is a HIGHER LEVEL”
So sad the game I used to play is becoming a massive money drain. They are doing similiar things to Brawl stars too, just not to the extent of Clash Royale

Ubisoft is clear winner, players don't even own the games, it would be like if in clash royale you had to renew evolutions. EA games are truly pay to win, in the literal sense. Plants vs zombies 2 you can only unlock new plants if you pay, there is no possible way to unlock them for free, PvZ 3 is the most lame sequel to any game possible, just like PvZ 1 with afwul graphics and even less unlocable plants no new contents compared to other two parts. Nobody really cares about PvZ, but is game on the point of no return, totally ruined game of no return. Both EA and Supercell release ¥hitty games intented as cash grabs, at least Supercell tried to put some effort in their games, I actually liked Clash mini.
In Ubisoft you now need to renew license for games after some time.😊

The only reason clash royale has a playerbase is because of 2 reasons:
1. The OG playerbase still plays the game casually
2. People has spent so much money that they can't just stop playing it or else it was just a waste money

When EVO Archer came out. My friend returned to the game at about 1000 trophies and he has the new evolution and grinded to arena 11 in two days to get Little Prince. He only lost games to people who also had the new broken evolution (Archers).

3 years ago i was a f2p player in clash royale but then the updates made it impossible to keep up making me forced to quit 😞
I noticed something else about these updates - they give passive value to the player. You don't need to trade off anything to use a tower troop or evolution, it's strictly a buff.
With new cards, they may be strong, but they cost a deck slot and elixir to use. Even with champions, they cost a deck slot and elixir to use the ability. The main issue I saw people complaining about was the 3 card cycle with them from a fundamental design perspective (not a balance perspective)
It's unengaging for both players if you introduce passive value into games and take away agency. You can't outplay a tower troop like you can pressure your opponent enough so they can't use their champion ability or play their wincon.
So it's not even the monetary aspects, it's also just the design of the features put in
Pretending the game doesn't exist anymore is easier than knowing what it has turned into.
I miss Clash Royale.

completely agree w everything you said in this video. i’ve been a casual f2p player but stopped playing around the time they first added Evolutions simply because i lost interest in the game after playing for so many years. but since then i’ve tried playing every now and then, but i couldn’t win/compete with anyone. all these new meta decks and evolutions that i simply don’t have and can’t invest in. hell, to this day i STILL haven’t unlocked the Archer Queen. i’m fine w meta changes, but the fact that these new “needed” cards are locked behind hours of grinding and pay walls is insane. it’s impossible to catch up. thank you for voicing up and speaking out against all of Supercell’s bullsh*t
Most Clash royale players moved onto brawl stars, my entire friend group got sick of what they are doing with their game, and we all unanimously decided to just delete it forever. Supercell, please don’t mess up brawl stars, it’s the only thing you have going for you.

I also quit the game because its very hard for free to play players. Imagine facing a level 15 tower troop that basically outmatch your common princess tower in every possible aspect. That's very horrible.

Brawl stars is going down the same path as CR. Brawl stars right now is just as p2w as CR.
They changed their pass from gems to money and the pass is the only way you can unlock the new brawlers each month. They’ve added hyper charges (which aren’t as impactful as evos) that cost tons of progression to unlock.
The only real difference is that brawl stars is younger and hasn’t hit the stage CR is at.
I find it so funny how Brawl Stars and Clash Royale reversed roles and now Clash Royale earns as much as Hay Day
I played brawl stars a lot. They treat their community extremely well
The two games always go back and forth with one being worse than the other for a while until it flips around.
What adds to it is how much similarities these games have, often introducing same mechanics, themes or features but ig that's just a nature of online service games made by the same company.
Overall Brawl is better though, always was except for those few times.

@@omkarbhale442they nerfed progression a lot though. Power points more than 4000 use to turn into gold at a 1:2 ratio. And club league gave a lot of power points and you can't buy brawl pass without gems anymore
the moment i quit was when they added the second evo slot and locked it to king lv 15. i had been on and off playing for around 6 years on my account, but actively pushing ladder and grinding every day for only a year or two. i already knew having 2 evo slots would totally ruin whatever strategy the game had left, but i was at king level 13 when the update dropped and knowing i'd have to use 1 evolution against most people at my arena (7k trophies) for YEARS was the final straw.
I was part of the Spanish community of CR and I spent 1 whole year of my life hoping this game will change since the update for losers.
Even with all the difficulties I achieved Definitive champions 3 times and it took me 4 months to have my first evolution but also 8 MONTHS TO MAX MY FIRST MAIN DECK AT LVL 15, you know what's "funny" about that?
With the pass of the time the meta changed drastically, until the point that my lovely main deck now is almost impossible to play, is no longer meta.
I tried to use new decks, even new cards that I didn't liked just to fit in the new meta, taking my time to gain skill in those decks, but it wasn't enough because, those cards wasn't lvl 15 so I was always stuck in the ladder, switching decks desperately and consistently (I forgot to say it but them also put as a limit the lvl 15 in path of legends) and also knowing the next meta, that new deck which I was using was going to be useless, because the new broken cards coming.
I don't even need to talk about the horrible balance changes that come each 2 season and the new cards or the exaggerated offers for cards that will be nerfed. The meta is so weird that sometimes is just cycling and exploting broken cards.
Skill doesn't exist in Clash Royale anymore, and if you still believing that, keep lying yourself, maybe like that you can ignore the fact that Clash Royale is no longer the game it used to be.

I was in top ladder for F2P for years. I’ve quit recently because I simply don’t have the cards. It’s too hard to max out without spending hundreds or thousands on the game. Ridiculous

this is also not consistent AT ALL, if i recall correctly they offered a book of books, 4 common books and the first 4 evo shards at 140 BUCKS, which is still less than the 200 bucks they apparently value(d) the book at, while you could have gotten it on the pass for FIVE BUCKS
whats really sad is that brawl stars has been coexisting and is actually so much better and more fun than clash royale, the only paid things are early access for two days for a brawler, they take care of the meta and listen to the playerbase

9:10 That's exactly the point. In the past, people were happy about updates, new cards, there were so many changes, of course not every change is automatically good. New cards were really cool, nowadays you're not happy at all because you know you can't really use the card anyway because it's too underleveled. And by the time you've maxed the card, or maxed it out by paying to win, it doesn't gets nerved, the card gets dead, because the nerv is too hard, like it makes the card useless, like the evo firecracker who dies one shot arrows or the evo bomber, who connect's really bad to the tower and has now 2 cycles. Nowadays, the annoying ones aren't really annoying either, they kill the cards with every balance change. So many evolution cards, e.g. the fireworker, the recruits, and the ice spirit is simply the worst evolution. In the past, people were extremely happy about a legendary, they would shout. If I get a legendary from a giant chest today, I'll be as happy as if I'd gotten a normal card. Or back when you and your whole class or friends played through the clan chest (which no longer exists) for hours, nights, just so everyone could get the 10/10 chest. Today you simply wouldn't be able to do that because you literally only know one person who still plays Clash Royale and the rest of the clan is inactive, just like the 2-3 players who are taking part in the current clan war (boat). I've been playing the game for 8 years now, isn't that an enormous amount of loyalty? I've also pumped a huge amount of money into the game, in addition to the 5 Euro passes that I get every month, but I'm still missing more than 12 evolution cards (more than 12 different troops, I don't mean 12 cards for one troop. I wonder what my game would look like if I'd never paid in. In general, all the battle banners are so unnecessary at the moment, the only thing you can flex with is if you were somehow first place globally or in the tournament.
I’ve played a lot of brawl stars and what I’ve noticed over the years is how much those devs actually listen and implement feedback from the players. Look how well it’s worked out for them, they are absolutely destroying every other supercell game in revenue. When people genuinely enjoy something they are more inclined to spend money. Almost all enjoyment is gone from CR

I quit because I don’t see a point in playing CR anymore. You need evolutions if you want to win matches in a higher elo and to receive them you either have to pay 15$ a month or play 6 months per evolution… The season shop is trash since they removed wild cards and I don’t have any reason to grind anymore…
I was a dedicated player, but over time just quit due to all of these reasons listed in this video.

I honestly think that Tower Troops have basically ruined completely mot of the interactions in the game with most cards. If your opponent has a dagger duchess, Your goblin barrel is garbage and completely useless. If your oponent has a Skarmy and swarm cards while you have a canoneer, You're dead. There's nothing you can do.
Cards simply were NOT designed to fight against other "tower troops", Al these cards were designed to be played with the princess as the tower troops.
The dagger duchess was the nail in the coffin.
The funniest part is that since dagger duchess is so OP, the top ladder deck last month was basically a deck where no troop had to cross the bridge to win. Simply defend + princess + rocket.

The game was so much more enjoyable pre 2019. Getting several cards released frequently that were actually fairly balanced is something i miss, but instead we get 15 different shop offers daily, broken cards that get nerfed only after they sell deals to max them. idk why they couldn't have just gone the cosmetic route similar to brawlstars.

I used to enjoy all supercell games, I downloaded clash of clans in 2016, and that's where it all began. I was 11 playing with my first smartphone, right after quitting other casual games like candy crush, angry birds, and else; just to grind on clash of clans. I got so excited about the upcoming game clash royale, played it until I got to arena 10, the hog mountain or something, my first legendary was the miner, and B-rad inspired me to believe that miner was a better legendary than princess, ice wizard and all the others. Sadly, I had to quit in 2020, game was not the same, and when I tried again in 2022, I legit resigned forever.
I even started playing brawl stars and made videos about it, right after the global launch. Came back a while ago and I'm enjoying it a lot, I wish it was the same with clash royale

i miss when a pay to win pack in the shop was when you progressed to a new arena and it genuinely felt worth it.
I think that evolutions were good. But the issue was that they were so paywalled. They have to add a completely different trophy road for evolutions. The way for them to get money would just be to spend money for maybe limited time boosters that double trophies gained. Or maybe each arena could have its own evolution unlocked (or multiple)

For real, I’m a f2p player that is trying to push ladder while still being level 14. Going against double evolutions and losing because of 1 level gap interactions every single game is getting very very frustrating. And now I’ve just been mindlessly playing for the last few months collecting wild cards just to finally get to level 54 and be done with this. Level 15 killed this game.

The worst part is how unbelievable hard it is to get to level 15, you literally need like 2.5 times more experienced to go from level 14 to 15 than to go from level 1 to 14, I bet they did this on purpose so people would get mad at not having double evolution for so long and having to buy offers to get to level 15
same. been (and still) hard stuck in arena 18 for like 2 months bc i keep going against lvl 15 cards with my lvl 13's, and i can only play 2 decks because of how hard it is to upgrade cards
I used to be a semi-competitive player and now I don't even try to push for top 10k Global every season now. I'm a pure F2P that's managing time, and my 8 year old account still struggles to gain Elite Wild Cards (and ofc Evolutions). Now I just play as a filthy Casual and just grind Season Tokens, Lucky Drops, and the weekly events due to how I can't just play Ladder with Level 14 cards and missing (meta) evos.
The giveaways are a sign that they're trying to appease the community, but it's still not enough even as an endgame player. One example of this is the Goblin Queen's Takeover with its own trophy ladder. A newbie (or newbie account) would struggle to unlock everything in the ladder with their Level 10 cards, while the trophy ladder doesn't cap at a lower level as you progress.
The microtransactions should also be redirected towards the populace that loves cosmetics instead of gatekeeping every significant addition to CR's gameplay. Every route of action the CR devs make is always a Lose-Lose with its loyal playerbase dwindling one by one. Within me there's this single entity that still gaslights me into continuously investing my time on Clash Royale, and maybe, just maybe it will all be good again.
I want to point out that when some bugs happend that was a huge benefit for the f2p players, like you could reroll Lucky Drops or even the chest drops bug that gave you a insane amount of cards, they immediatly fixed, like day 1, on the other hand bugs that legit hurt all player base they took months or never even fixed.

2 things to say on that:
I think some of the OG game-devs were soo mad at the decisions of CR head-officials that they quit, leaving new, inexperienced devs to take on these roles, because there have been TONS of bugs per every “update”.
Also, imo the one bug with the boxes, basically a means of rooting out players who actively try avoiding spending money, which mostly consists of f2p players. Many who were banned for a month lost their CR addiction.
A 3rd i wanna add: the new ads they’ve been pumping out on yt shorts since evos, they are chasing away their current players and trying to revamp the player base with fresh players that wanna spend money. Since the update for losers, i’ve been seeing flaws in the core of what this game has become

I am stopped playing clash royale for a long time ago before the level 14 card was existed. It is a normal thing as a normal gamer. When you get bored with your game you start to uninstall it and then when you start to feel i am gonna comeback to play that game, then you install it back. So the reason why i am not comeback to the game because when i am watching the content creator playing clash royale especially watching brad. I am start to think this game start to seem impossible to reach higher level because of the paid to win system and of course the overpower card that make the game not flexible anymore. Overall, clash royale game is dead like brad told and my advice, stop playing the game because it will make you crazy. Had spent $500 or so across 5+ years of playing on this game. Dropped hundreds if not thousands of hours into it. Deleted it the second evolutions dropped. I still watch youtube content because the game will always hold a special place in my heart. I’ve always said CR was very similar to chess to me - luck is nearly irrelevant, and winning is nearly always skill based. But drastically changing the entire meta of the game every month with new hundred dollar evolutions made skill much less relevant. It’s heartbreaking. I will be there when a replacement comes along, from anyone other than $uper¢ell. RIP CR

Luck has always been so relevant, at least since they removed overtimes. Before that some decks you could always win/draw, after that it was glorified rock paper scissors where as long as you didnt mess up placements it was more or less a predetermined outcome based on matchup alone

what really annoyed me the past couple days is i really wanted to play the new goblin cards, but i didnt even get the opportunity to use for example the goblin machine before them nerfing it to the floor. combined with the fact i want to use fun decks and cards but cant due to levels
Kids in highschool??...that hitted me hard dude, I remember playing in 2016 and waiting for updates and talking to my friends about it all the time, the 2 players mode and draft and stuff...literally an hour ago I played my second game in the day for the season tokens and kept losing to Mega knight and evo firecracker and E golem and was like No this is it...not touching this game anymore, I feel so sad seeing how the game changed, I stopped in 2018 and came back this year and my god it is not fun anymore...no strategy whatsoever just spam and broken cards.

Even 3 years ago i could see the p2w aspect. When i 1v1ed my friend who spent some money whilst i was f2p. We had same account level but he had more leg units and higher level. He demolished me

something you're overlooking with Goblin Queens Journey is that it drained a ton of resources from f2p players, since none of us are maxed, we had to spend a ton of wild cards and gold on our new goblin decks that will be completely irrelevant in 3-5 months
I can’t even play far into the journey because I don’t keep around spare gold or wildcards so most of my cards are level 11
im basically f2p I just bought the pass royale once when it was $5 and I don’t have such problems but I agree with you new players would hate to max out cards which aren’t useful to them

If anyone of y’all were like me who played pixel gun in their childhood you would remember it was a really fun game everybody liked but then they introduced more op guns and more pay to win offers and eventually killing a once great game. Clash Royale is following its footsteps and slowly killing themselves by becoming more pay to win.

I played since day 1 as a f2p player, quit a few years ago, couldnt keep up with levelling up a decent deck with meta changes and gold requirements, tried again recently and it was just such a nightmare of pay to win, immediately deleted. Impossible to push trophies and have a remote amount of fun.
At its height clash royale was the best competitive mobile game ever made.
Pity to see how corporate greed ruins such things, brilliant to see that their sales are tanking, finally consumer lead punishment.
Still so much appeal though, its not too late for a comeback, clash royale youtubers keep it alive by sinking the cost and keeping it fun for viewers.
I still play clash of clans, over a decade now on and off i hope they dont double down and ruin that game to squeeze the life and money to save their profit margins in the short term.
I pretty much stopped having fun once the goblin update was released. The game was already infuriating enough before that, and I should've quit earlier while I had the chance.

I'm an og player who quit when level 15 was announced the same week that I finally got my main deck maxed at 14. Logged in last week to see Dagger Duchess and evolutions and uninstalled again. I miss when playing the game was enough to earn a maxed deck, and there weren't gimmicks like tower troops and evolutions to make sure that normal people can't compete.
First joined all the way back in 2016 and haven’t touched the game in years, don’t exactly recall what made me uninstall but seeing the way this game was headed monetization wise it made it easy, could not have made a better decision seeing the state of the game now smh

As a high schooler, we enjoyed clash for like 3.5 months, all uninstalled, switched to brawl stars and have had a better time since still a proud brawl stars enjoyer
I spent almost 6 months upgrading a deck that wasn’t even that good at the time (RR logbait) then dagger ditches came out and now it’s completely useless! It’s not even worth playing the game anymore!
Let's not forget about card mastery gems. Each card used to be a potential *450* gems from masteries, now it's only *150* per card.
They also just release broken cards to get people maxing them out with money, and afterwards they nerf it to the ground. This all began with Phoenix an Monk.

There is one thing every supercell player forgets about, and that is that all the games give supercell revenue, all the games' money go to the same company, a little bit over two years ago, when clash royale was popping off, they released level 10 & 11 into Brawl Stars, Brawl Stars seemed to be dead, Clash Royale seemed to be the way to go (my timeline might be a little off). Now, later, when Brawl Stars is popping off, they killed Clash Royale, SEEMINGLY, but Clash Royale will come back, it might take years but watch my words, when Brawl Stars gets another downfall, another supercell game will start popping off, like Clash Royale, Clash of Clans, or even Squad Busters.
Since the phoenix emergency nerf few hours after it released I knew it wasn’t going to be the last time. Now they did us dirty with the lvl 15 cards.
they made evolutions, tower troops and champions not to bring freshness into the game but to put a giant paywall and squeeze every last cent they can before they give up on the game.. truly a sad ending to a game as beloved as it used to be...
They give players variety. But players mindset of wanting to max everything in the first day is for themselves to blame

to be fair, champions was a good idea in my opinion, because the elixir cost of the card with the ability on top was actually fair, compared to evolutions.

@@nens3773 Sure feels great when they nerf that single deck you upgraded to maxed and are now forced to change decks but all your cards are 3 levels lower than your original main deck
As a free to play player whos been playing for years, I learned to play only one deck. My deck is maxed out with 2 evolutions. Problem is if the meta changes and one of my card is nerfed i just have to figure out how to work around it because im not paying to upgrade a different card to lvl 15. I save the wild cards from ladder but getting cards to lvl 14 is expensive. I just got dagger dutchess to lvl 15 and she was nerfed so i didnt get to play her during her peak. I have a little bit of flexibility with other random lvl 15 cards but idk, i cant just change my deck on a whim based on meta

Calling supercell generous for gifting an evolution shard is the same as calling someone generous after they've starved someone and given them a crumb.
They made the issue that called for a solution so they could seem like they cared.
Like in brawl stars you can get enough gold to get 1 hyper charge from the free pass n in cr we just chest which gives noting
It's also stupid because it's just a temporary event. If you missed that event or didn't know about the game at that time, you'll have to pray that there's another. An easy way to get evolutions should be added permanently, or they should make events like these every month (which will probably not happen).
This is how most mobile games condition their players to accept horrible deals. Make something way worse to make something bad looks good.

In brawl stars evey update they give you 1 free hypercharge from the 6 new ones and it's not just a one time thing, also getting a hypercharge is 10x easier than getting an evo, they give so much away
The pass in my opinion is the worst update ever... Normal pass is not fun anymore, you only get a reward once every 3-5 tiers
When I came back to the game about 1 months ago I was really pissed off that they literally nurfed that pass. After that I never spent any money on the game

But the thing is that they shouldn't have touched the free or gold tier rewards...

Clan war 2 update is the update that caused the most players to simultaneously quit, but the pass update, among a few others, are all very close to just as bad.
It's actually amazing the game still has a big playerbase. It shows how good the core gameplay was that they can mess it up this badly and still have people playing it.
@@mariomiceli9663 The clan wars 2's defining failure is simply the matchmaking, it is practically impossible to get a fair matchup and I end up either playing against level 15s on my level 11 account or level 8, both of which are incredibly unfair on all spectrums
@@SauceGuyGuy It's based on win rate, not just in war but ladder also. I only face 20 win ultimate champs. On my lower level accounts I only face much higher levels.
They do this to cater to bad players, giving them easier match ups so they can win. They're afraid that players will quit if they always lose, so they cater to bad players, and basically punish good players. It's BS. Cw1 actually had fair MM

I mean I played the game since the release, I quit once they added pass Royale and everyone started having over leveled stuff. I came back to the game like 20-30 seasons later and bought pass Royale to come up to speed. Now even with a lvl 14 deck I can’t even keep up with some of these players having evolutions cause it’s taking me 4-5 months just to get one

Same bro. After returning to brawl stars after 4 years it amazes how much better they treat their players compared to clash Royale.
The main issue for me is that these evolutions are forcing us to play specific cards because they're op. Just completely ruins the creativity in the game, and tower troops force a specific meta where you can't even attempt to play certain decks.
