    I'm very new...it would be helpful if you finish by installing the new so I know if anything needs to be lubed up or anything? Also, how to fill the tranny fluid again?

    Hi guys, just wanted to say your work is excellent! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. Your videos are top notch. I have learned so much from you. I especially loved the bumper repair vids. Do you have a question and answer video? I'm curious about your names and the guy who never talks. Is he your dad or uncle? Keep up the great work fellas, cheers!

    How are your control arms dropping out so easily? When mines in full droop it won't come all the way out even though it's clearly loose and not seized.

    Another excellent video guys! I hope they are still around when I have to start doing stuff like this to my ST. That being said, thinking of trading in my 2015 for a 2019 MY ST since Ford is discontinuing production in the US. ☹️

      Keep your 15. Much better aftermarket support for the 15.

      Mike Vargas Yeah that back up camera is definitely going to kill the aftermarket support for the 19 ST. 😂

      probably noisy bearing cause it is built in the drive shaft

  • @mach275
    @mach275 5 лет назад

    Thank you guys hope it’s the same as a c max energi ! I’m think the bearing is and since it makes a jolting motion when braking harder to stop faster.

    • @ryanf4545
      @ryanf4545 5 лет назад

      mach275 does yours make a strange noise, almost like metal on metal, when you have to brake hard going downhill? My fiesta is doing this and I can’t quite pinpoint it.

    • @mach275
      @mach275 5 лет назад

      ryanf4545 just jack it up in the front and move the cv axle for excessive play. The boot closest to the motor was Holding our cv axle in place. Everything inside damaged the outer pieces so we had to buy an entire cv axle so I’d suggest checking it out before it gets worse. Either way not an expensive part.

    • @mach275
      @mach275 5 лет назад

      ryanf4545 compare both cv axles for excessive play but you should know which one is making the noise when braking hard.

    Hope you guys see this..... I have an 11 ford fiesta automatic, do I need to drain the transmission fluid to do that? Is it required to drain the tranny fluid for this repair?

    • @Subjohny
      @Subjohny 3 года назад

      if you dont drain there is possibility some fluid will drip down from the whole after removing drive shaft!

      @@Subjohny LOL and.......... That's a bigger problem than draining the fucking transmission? Are you high?

  • @dankroy

    Do you have to take out the transmission fluid?

  • @benjaminjoyce4938
    @benjaminjoyce4938 6 лет назад +2

    Great video. But why didn't you just take off the strut instead of the lower control arm? There's plenty of room to get the axle out with the control arm still attached.

    • @ToWi1989
      @ToWi1989 5 лет назад +2

      Assuming you mean removing the strut from the knuckle, you will need to get the car aligned afterwards. Also, on the fiesta those bolts are torque to yield, and are not supposed to be reused (although most people do).

      Mine is making noise too. I am replacing the whole CV axle assembly. Were you able to replace the support bearing?

    • @luktish
      @luktish 4 года назад

      @@robertm7148 Not yet, I keep an eye on it. So far I just have a little bit of grease residue. Same amount of grease after 12 months. No noise. I would imagine that the bearing is sealed, so I am guessing that it is slowly going bad. How was you experience with changing the axle? Any tips? I will tackle this bearing later on.

    • @robertm7148
      @robertm7148 4 года назад +1

      @@luktish I started the job, but I was unable to loosen the ball joint with my wrenches and sockets. I am guessing I needed an impact wrench. I then decided to return the axel to my eBay seller and trade in the fiesta on a 2013 mazda5. Best of luck with replacing your axle. Let us know how it turns out for you.

      Just make sure to drain the fluid into something clear so you can mark the level with a marker and put the exact amount that came out back into the system.

    Just so you know the passenger's side cv axle on ford fiesta has two different types of generations; one is from 2011- 2013 and the other is 2014- 2017; the older models have two inches longer axles
