I've never done any plastering in my life and I doubt I ever will but I really enjoy watching these videos. Always good to learn somebody else's trade.
I remember years ago a friend of mine was learning his trade as a carpenter. He told me about an older man who worked around the sites whom he met. A lot of young trainees didn't like working with him because he was a perfectionist in his work whereas they just wanted to quickly throw something up and move on. One example he heard of was when working in an attic space a young trainee said we can just throw in a quick fix and get out and the older man said no. The apprentice argued that the owner won't see it and won't even know it's there. The qualified guy's reply was "I'll know it's there" - nothing else needs to be said really.
Im 37 and am new to plastering.. ive been installing resin floors for my entire working life and just always fancied trying plastering!! The friend i woek with is a fantastic plasterer and is and has learnt me so much all ready but also youre videos really do give me a great insight into the trade and the little tips ALL work amazingly well. Being a floor heating technician i am proud of my own skills and the high quality work i deliver, but i can also truly appreciate and enjoy the craftsmanship of other professionals. This guy knows how to do it right and that in itself is increasingly harder and harder to find. New technicians that want to learn the trade and want to deliver quality work are very very hard to find nowadays. Good sir i salute you.

I agree with this. Sometimes, depends on what's actually being done, it's better for people learning to 'hear what the trowel is doing' more than it being talked over.🙂
Good to see you removing excess overspill plaster from upvc frames etc. as a painter and decorator, I always have to remove it to get a clean line our else it looks terrible, in fact I’m painting a newly plastered bedroom next week and I can bet I’ll have to clean the areas where the plaster has been left on the upvc etc.
Plasterers are usually the dirtiest b*****ds on any building site, leaving plaster over the floors, the windows, window sills. I even had a plasterer hold an alarm wire to the glass with a lump of plaster. Its nice and rare to see one that cleans up after themselves.
This is excellent, just amazing work. No bloody cleaning up to do as a client, no scraping back plaster off your PVC, no splashes all over already plastered/painted walls or skirtings. Proper job.
A very skilled and experienced tradesman , unfortunately most people would not want to pay him what he is worth, all tradesmen are massively under appreciated and underpaid, great to watch you buddy great job

Compare that, say, to the 'computer man' I had round last year, just to give my computer a 'tidy up' and general check-up. £70 PER HOUR. Lovely neat job always a pleasure to watch talking or not. Our new doors and windows were left in a right state by our plasterers it would have been so much easier if they had attempted to cleaned them before plaster set.
If only all plasterers practiced this level of care and attention - a treat to watch. Doing up my place and I've been through 4 plasterers in the last 2 years and only 1 was even remotely acceptable (all highly rated). The amound of sanding, filling, and even patching I've had to do is shocking. Cleaning up those internal angles? No chance. Fading out the plaster by the architrave? No chance (ended up putting planters in beforehand). Cleaning up the windows frames? No chance. Fading out to where skirting goes? No chance - nice big step to give you wonky skirting. Hi great job you make it so easy 👍I have tried some plastering when I did bathroom fitting but it is difficult. When did you take the bottom bits of plaster board out or cut it out where you said don’t let it touch the floor. Looking forward to the next one 👍
Also what are your thoughts about using PU foam for chucking that bit of board on the reveal? But quicker and less fussy than knocking a mix of dab up for such a small area?
Hi Kirk Why did U SBR the cavity closure? Never seen that done. It always worries me about dabbing direct to cavity closure I know dab sticks to anything but it's smooth plastic with a few ribs and you are totally reliant on that sticking . We need a new style cavity closure with hooks or something built into them so dab won't come off at all

Hi great job you make it so easy 👍I have tried some plastering when I did bathroom fitting but it is difficult. When did you take the bottom bits of plaster board out or cut it out where you said don’t let it touch the floor. Looking forward to the next one 👍
After the adhesive had set mate🙂
È un piacere vederti lavorare, anche io faccio lo stesso lavoro, bravo amico.
We need a new style cavity closure with hooks or something built into them so dab won't come off at all
Compared to this, my plastering looks like a five year old has thrown mud on the wall. Great stuff 👏
