Ive seen many vinyl plank flooring repairs using wax, melting vinyl shavings, wood fillers, etc. This repair is absolutely fantastic… best I’ve ever seen hands down. Flooring manufacturers should have you working in their damage claims department lol

@ 😂 Me repairing something like this will take a bit of learning first. And if I needed to use a power tool - I would need a fair bit of practice at that too. Thanks again for your video
This was in my feed for some reason, and despite my usual total lack of attention span, watched the whole thing. You have a gift. That repair is amazing.
I love knowing this type of repair/restoration can be done as I just had my entire home refinished in luxury plank flooring. I know one of these days damage WILL occur, and seeing that a repair can be done with such an excellent outcome gives me confidence. Beautiful job. 10/10
I question the durability of that wax. It's nowhere near as resilient as the flooring material. Just matching the colour and texture is purely aesthetic but does nothing for longterm durability.
I highly recommend storing some extra pieces of flooring you have left over. There are methods to replace individual full boards. If you have a floating floor and damage is close to a wall you could even disassemble and replace the broken panel
@@CulturedWhiteBoy I know using the words "luxury" and "vinyl" together is odd but you can immediately see and feel the difference between cheap composite flooring and "luxury" vinyl.

It looks like an editing trick. Like if the person started dry painting over the non chipped surface. Then chipped the surface and fix until a certain point with wax and paint. Then inserting the footage of the original surface at the end. It's good still but... Many restore/fix videos on RUclips are fake. Don't believe the hype 😂
10/10. Excellent job. I do this everyday but on timber mullions. They can reach heights of 30 feet and one thing i have had a hard time doing is repairs like this up high. I tend to use soft waxes up there and then stencil them in. One thing i can say is anything from your waist to the floor is quite forgiveable but up high its so tough getting the colour to flip right. Its almost like painting it in blind. The colour match looks perfect but when i come down off scaffold and have a look its just so dark.
