Good day champ, can I come n work with u, I'm very hard working, good learner n very respectful
My location now is Ghana
I take it the EV6Z-7052-C kit is also required for this job?
Why is the kit that you list here with the Amazon link over $600 . Would you can get the full kit on Amazon for around 300 to 350?
You are the king of the man. You have no jealousy, no hiding information, so I congratulate you. But come to our country, if someone knows something, he dies and doesn't teach it to anyone else, he takes it with him to the grave. That's why you're developing and not standing still. Good job.
Thanks! I'm glad it helped. No sense in hiding info!
Thanks. I might do my neighbor's if Ford will decide the clutch and TCM is not warranted anymore - only 85k KMS on it. No special jig needed 😊 I can breathe easier. Thanks again.

Very cool video. You have a calm voice that I am sure makes following your tutorial that much nicer.

@Drausio-u6t awesome, glad the videos help!
I love this video and this guy is funny, why are people not complimenting the humor? 😂💀

Big Ben. You are the man of transmission. Learn something new tonight with you. Thank you and I just subscribed to your channel.

Thank you! This was very helpful! Very well and funny way to explain the process and so helpful to know what other options you have and can use instead of special tools.
You are a legend. My focus started slipping at 120k ford is going to replace the tcm but is saying i have to pay for the damages to the tranmission caused by it. Kinda ass but it is what it is

Hi , I want to switch clutches will I need to reset a second hand clutch after reinstalling
@noahmoyo5645 yes, if it's not already reset. Send pictures on discord or Facebook (group) of the clutch and I'll tell you if it's reset or not
I’m really glad you pointed out in your video to inspect the throw out bearing for those little clips. So I bought a whole new clutch kit and after watching your video, I checked my throw out bearing for those clips and sure enough that whole bottom plastic was cracked and busted right in two. That really makes me mad because I was planning on having it altogether and get it in the vehicle right away. Now I’m gonna have to wait for them to send me a new throw out bearing
How did went for you?
Awesome! I brought my 2014 Fiesta to ford and they did a TCM reprogramming. Now it drives significantly better but I can still tell the clutch is worn or something. Not going to lie these videos make me want to start working on my own cars.

6mm Allen fits the actuators perfectly. Great video
When i remove these clutches i just take the snap rings off and dump the trans on the ground and the clutch comes out on its own. Very quick this way lol. I hate setting up the special tools
Spinning one of the clutch forks is funner
Good idea lol. I'll have to try that
A pry bar works fine goofy
Put it on its side on the trans jack and hook it

Great video. Thanks for taking the time. Educational and funny😂
First off thanks for the video. Was looking for what tool I’d need for the spring nuts so learning that an 8 mil works is very helpful. And also you said you don’t know what pleb means. It actually is Roman, and was used to refer to the common free citizens of Rome. You can think of it like the working class, not much in the way of political power and pleb is short for plebeian. The other end of Roman society were patricians, wealthier citizens born into power. They were social classes and were hereditary I.e. you inherited them so if your father was a plebeian you were one too. So the saying “like a pleb” is saying like a simpleton or commoner. Most people use the saying to usually mean like an idiot.
you're welcome, I'm glad it helped. I appreciate you explaining that!
Thank you. I'm trying to troubleshoot my transmission. I just bought a TCM.
You're welcome. If you need any more help, I have a discord and Facebook group
When putting in the last large snap ring you talk about the “nub” on fiestas lines up the white line at the 9’ o clock position and that on focus it’s at the 6oclock position . I was doing a focus clutch replacement and both the old and the new clutch the “nub” lines up with the white line at the 9’clock position? Either way it shifts like a dream now. Thank you for all your knowledge my friend.
I'm glad your car shifts good now! That's just something I noticed when getting clutches over the counter at the parts department.

Looking for a trusted source!!
The LuK repset comes with the snap rings, hardware etc. But you can also get a ford seal kit EV6Z-7052-C (focus) which has the hardware and snap rings
I bought the luk off ebay but does not come with center hub, customer service was no help. Any insight?
Thank for you the awesome video!
I appreciate the in depth walk through. I will most def use the leaf blower to clean this thing up, but a ribeye would cook better in there!

I have a 2012 I followed your videos on putting in clutch. All done drives good but on take off it has a rattle vibration if you are little heavy on the pedal not sure what it could be also has all new mounts
@danielroundy5842 check the bolts on the bottom mount. The short gray bolt goes vertical. The longer black bolt goes horizontal. If you put the longer black bolt vertical it'll contact the inside of the subframe and vibrate
Great video!
Before I attempt to pull the transmission I thought maybe I would ask here about my issue. My car will often not upshift from 3rd to 4th. After driving for 5-10 minutes the car will usually shift perfectly normal. This seems to coincide with the traction control light coming on. When the light comes on, the car will upshift like normal. Ford just replaced the TCM last week. I replaced the shift actuators today . The shift forks weren't stuck when I checked them. I cleaned up all of the grounds. I'm at a loss of what could be causing this.
Thanks alot ... the videos have been great help to pull down the transmission... one thing has been bothering me... how would i know if my transmission is not bad... worried thay id change the clutch and realize that transmission was also failing or had failed...

I bought after market torque converter that doesn’t has the align mark on it
Flywheel has it but torque converter doesn’t how should I figure it up and align to flywheel correctly?
I've seen several focuses with misaligned clutches and it's never caused a problem, I wouldn't worry about it

Focus Mk 3,5 (facelift) 09.2015, with Powershift g.b. and my flywheel seems to be affected (vibrations in the car, some noise and so on) - so needs to be replace. If I will replace the flywheel it is necessary to change also the transmission oil of the PowerShift gearbox? Do you need to take out the oil or you will loose it when you work on the flywheel? I'm asking because I recently change this transmission oil (25-30k km ago) and some service guys told me that the oil for the PowerShift GB. witll need to be changed. My clutch is ok - for now. :)
Thank you once again.
@naritasebastian5196 hi, if you've got the dry dual clutch, I think you just need to retorque the clutch nuts and your vibration should go away. Otherwise no you won't lose fluid by changing the flywheel

First of all, I want to thank you for making these videos.. I can't tell you how helpful many of them have been, but especially this on. I followed this video and successfully changed my clutch and forks. BUT, ever since, I get a 'growl' when accelerating, it feels like it's right under the floorboard where the drivers feet go. Just curious about your thoughts. Thanks again!

@philp9957 hi, glad it helped! Would you record the noise on your phone and post it in my discord or Facebook group? I'll watch it
@ I am not sure it’ll translate in a recording .. it’s a vibration more felt than heard .. but there is SOME sound to it. It’s strongest around 4500 rpm wether in gear or not , but can be felt at idle . It’s not really bad , and the car shifts better than it did new.. and oddly , better fuel economy since the clutch .

Hi, Great informative video, I'm working through a few snags with my Daughter's 2014 focus here in New Zealand. I just replaced all 3 shaft (turbine) sensors and resolved the check light issue. But I've made a foolish mistake in turning the lower shaft actautor in the "wrong" direction 14 turns clockwise. I'm now getting code P2872 Clutch A - Stuck Engaged, along with weird shifting. So my question is, can I undue this by turning counter-clockwise past the spring tension? Or am I going to have to drop the gearbox and reset the fork actuator? All I felt was mild resistance (maybe 20-30 in/lbs) uniformly until I got to 14 turns in the wrong direction. The spring-back turning counter-clockwise from this point fells the same. Any advise would be great.
Hi, it should not have turned clockwise at all. You already had damage to the fork, and unfortunately made it worse. You can attempt going the other way back, but this means the worm gear is stripped
We cleaned the actuator and it was working better but now it started reving up to 4k rpm every time it changes gear would you reccomend this for me ? Or what other can it be
Great video. I know you said that you don't have to reset the clutch in the video. But do I have to reset my brand new luk rep clutch set? Just asking to be 100% certain?
@ceezauto213 nope, it should come reset. If you're not sure if it is, you can take a picture and post it on my discord. Link in description
@BigBensCarsAndCycles Thanks I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with everyone! 👍
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles Which type of gear oil can you use as a replacement for the original transmission fluid again?
I’m on my second clutch kit and the first one I had to return because it was broken in shipping. I have been struggling trying to figure out what’s going on. The first clutch kit did the same thing and now the second one I’m also having a problem. So the problem is when I set the clutch down in place and make sure it’s on the splines. So using a socket like you did to pound the clutch down no matter how hard I hit it I cannot get a clutch to go down far enough to expose the lip where the C clip is supposed to go. Both clutches are doing the same thing. I’m hoping maybe you can give me an idea of what I’m doing wrong. I don’t see that I’m doing anything wrong because I watched several videos besides yours and they’re all pretty much the same using a socket or using the old shaft protector thing no matter what I do I cannot get it to go down far enough to expose the ridge for the C clip.
make sure the clutch is fully locked / reset. And make sure the clutch forks and slave cylinder aren't deformed or damaged
I can confidently say I now can work on my own transmissions lol
What about fluid life tho? The dealer try’s to say it’s life time fluid definitely not and when and how do you get that changed not wanting to do it myself
When I removed my A actuator I noticed the fork is shifted up and not centered in the hole….would this mean I have to remove transmission to fix this? I’m getting a code that that cutch is stuck…getting transmission overheating messages.
Thank you for these videos. I’m thinking about taking this on.
You're welcome, glad to help..yes it sounds like the fork is damaged
Hello Ben. I havent sene anything regarding a 2016 Ford focus with a p07a5 code on you channel. I just ordered the tool to check the clutch forks, so i should know that by thursday. But i was wondering if you know anything specific about this code.
I did clear it twice already so the next time it shows up i can give more details on whay it says.

@BigBensCarsAndCycles awesome thank you for the speedy response.
@BigBensCarsAndCycles I got the tool! Just checked both forks, and they are butter smooth with zero sounds when turning. I've got reverse, 1st, 3rd, and 5th gear and whta may feel like 6 gear while driving around 70mph. I can also no longer put the car in S to use the paddle shifters which is what was getting it by for the past few weeks.
From watching all of your videos it sounds like it may be the upper actuator, which is clutch A correct? And that one controls 2nd, 4th, and 6th gear right?
2014 Ford focus. I got the clutch kit from eBay and I noticed there is no marking or stamp on the clutch for lining it up with the mark on the flywheel. So how will I know which way to bolt it to the flywheel does it have to be a certain way to be balanced?
@davieboy1970 hey it'll be fine, don't worry about that. I haven't seen it cause vibration. It's more important to seat and torque the clutch properly against the flexplate
So what do we do when one of the dowel pins is missing? It was on the lower clutch fork side which was the bad fork. Also, my new OEM fork doesn't rebound or slide back (while holding level in my hand & spinning with special tool by hand). Is it supposed to?
@@docfullmer2102 buy a new dowel, and it's only going to rebound when the clutch is in, pushing down on it

I'm glad the video helped. I would inspect the range sensor for damage to either the sensor or wiring. If all looks ok, you can try unplugging the battery for an hour or 2 to see if that'll un-glitch the tcm. Otherwise it may be a tcm problem, but you can try replacing the range sensor first.

Hey man, awesome set of videos for these. I also think these are really good cars and transmissions, just a little misunderstood haha
My wifes 2014 has made it to 200k but its time for a clutch at this point. It's had this low pitch vibration for a long time now too, really loud, so I'm going to do all the engine and trans mounts at the same time, being sure to watch out for the black and white bolts
I've been able to follow along with your videos for removing the transmission. All If have left is one bell housing bolt and the transmiaionn mounting bracket. I am stuck until I find a transmission jack or engine lift at the moment. The clutch is still in the mail anyway.
Your videos on this subject are a goldmine.
A couple questions about reinstallation I haven't seen adressed yet.
When bolting the clutch back to the flywheel, I'm assuming I'm good to put the little piece of rubber behind the strater back in so the clutch bolts aren't dropped inside the bell housing
And is there no way at all to relearn the clutch at home? If I do have to tow it, can I at least crank the car to be sure things look correct before towing? Or should I just wait for the clutch to be relearned before I even attempt to run the engine at all?
Thanks in advance
I'm glad the videos helped. You will leave the rubber piece out until you go to put the starter back in because it blocks access to the clutch studs. And you can do a clutch relearn with forscan. I've got a video on that. As well as a video on torquing the clutch nuts
@BigBensCarsAndCycles Awesome! Thanks, I'll look for those 2 videos
When putting shift to reverse or neutral it shaking? Do you think it is shift fork?

Knowing me I would definitely mess this up, and right now I don't have $3000 to fix mine. It's starting to studder as soon as I accelerate, then it's fine.. would I be able to just spray some wd40 and or break cleaner where the actuators are located and cross my fingers?
Yes if the fork is sticking and causing missed shifts that can help as a temporary solution. If it's only a clutch shudder, it won't help. You can drive the car hard to lessen clutch shudder
Thank you so much sir, much appreciated 🙏
Thanks. A well-done video. All necessary information presented .
Thank you!
I have one of them clips broke on the bottom of the bearing like you showed. Is that OK to use like that?
Hi, no you should get a warranty replacement
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles it's just that plastic clip. It just holds the metal ring till installed. Looks like the bearing sleeve holds it in place.
@@topgunpressurecleaning8930 oh alright, worth a shot then
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles I hope so but my gut feeling says it'll be fine. If not it will be a hard lesson learned. 🤪
@@topgunpressurecleaning8930 take a picture and post it on my discord or Facebook group?
Any lubrication required for the actuator?
just a touch of grease on the clutch fork tips and actuator gear
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles forks come with their lubricant. But the actuator doesn't. Which grease should I use?
Is this a diesel engine Ford focus or it's a petrol engine? Is the clutch system the same on petrol engines and diesel?
What should I do if one of the clips on the bearing is broken
if its going to impede the function of the bearing, ask the seller for another one
@ thanks already ordered another it arrives in two days 👍
Hello wonder if you can help me I have a 2018 Ford fiesta diesel manual six speed 11,000 miles after an hour of driving the car every night in town for my job the car starts to shudder when releasing the clutch in first gear or reverse. This happens every time after an hour of driving. Any ideas what this could be please thank you
Hi, it could be a sticking slave cylinder. In that case, you'd need a clutch job and a new master & slave cylinder. You can start with flushing the clutch hydraulic lines with new fluid. And the brakes if it shares a reservoir
Hi Ben I'm having troubles getting the clutch down far enough to set the smaller snap ring I've tried everything from a bs hone made press to the 34mm and tapping it in and I can't seem to get it down for enough anything I mite e doing wrong or any suggestions on how to get it set down for enough
Hey, your clutch may have been unlocked. Check my video for how to lock it. It'll show you how to tell if it's lockedruclips.net/video/xAzQ33S_ACA/видео.htmlsi=a7-iBTAj-PfeibcZ
OK I'm gonna have to go pop the clutch back out and look at the other side to see if it's unlocked 😢 i bought it brand new is there a reason why and how it mite have came unlocked?
@@TravisHadder-gg7uk a new oem or luk clutch will come locked. But other brands may not
I didn't buy luk direct but when I received the one I did buy it's stamped with Luk all over it ....maybe a knock off with fake markings not sure but I'll go check shortly and see if it's locked or not
@@TravisHadder-gg7uk some aftermarket sellers sell slightly used luk clutches
I just replaced my clutch and when I released the actuators I heard the “click” on the first actuator but no click on the second. Do I install the trans and hope for the best or do I have to remove the clutch and start over????
Did you turn them around 10 to 12 times counter clockwise each? You can roll the dice and try it, it should be fine. Or buy a clutch reset tool for 100 bucks on amazon. Lmk if you need a link or my video on doing that
What is a reasonable cost to get this done at a dealership or would it be cheaper at a transmission shop? Ford Dealer told me 3,600
What you do this with 164,000 miles on it? Thank you
3600 is somewhat high, not by much. If they're doing actuators too then thats fine. And theres a lot of shops that won't touch the transmission. You can call around.
Sir, when we are changing dual clutch of Ford dps6 then do we have to change all parts in clutch housing?
You can clean and reuse everything but they're issue prone and good to replace
So the clutch they sent me according to you is for a fiesta, i called them and they said it's the right one. The nub aligns at the 9:00 position as well as the guide line. my clutch nub doesn't align at the 6:00 . Don't remember the codes but can scan again.
how do i get the clutch you have.
I have the 2015 focus a/t Trans
Trans is overheating, and service faults the actuators keep clicking.
Had to do a manual training the other training had error at end.
And the link you have sent me to the same clutch i bought is it possible they packaged the wrong one. Any thoughts of what i should do.
Hey ben, my luk kit came with the snap rings and gear already in place, do i disassemble it to follow what you did? Or do i leave it together?
Hi, you can remove and reuse the bigger snap ring that comes pre installed
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles sweet thanks for the quick response!
Wait if I pull that snap ring off won't I have to relock the clutch? @@BigBensCarsAndCycles
@promethieos1875 no, the clutch only needs to be locked once you've unlocked it
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles alright, again I appreciate it! Your videos have been fantastic help!
you are good man. thank you for sharing
Happy to help!
Hello Mr. Ben, I here again to keep picking your brain. We have been saving for the new cluth kit for my daughters Ford Focus. There are different options from Amazon to EBAY,, to Ford original OME, but I wanted your recommendation as I value your expert advice.
Thank you
Happy to help. I think that the LuK repset is the best choice. It's oem parts for cheaper than the dealer. It comes with everything except for transmission fluid, the axle strap and ball joint pinch hardware (if you want to replace that)
Hello , where did you order the parts , are they oem ?
@Anpu1804 yes they're oem and it's on amazon amzn.to/48ppwVJ
I’ve heard from a mechanic that many times the clutch doesn’t need to actually be replaced but just thoroughly cleaned if the transmission is just slipping because of all of the debris in the Dual clutch area causing slips. Is this true?
Hi. yeah, i've heard of people blowing the dust out of the clutch, cleaning the forks and reusing it with positive results. I have a video on that called "Ford Focus $0 transmission rebuild"
You’re a good man Charlie Brown
Hello sir,
Please help quick question. After I install the forks and bearings. I put the clutch down but it doesn’t spin freely. Any opinion as to why?
Much appreciated sir thank you if you have a minute to answer.
Can you make sure the clutch is locked (reset) you can post pics of the clutch in my discord or fb group. Discord would be quicker
You don’t have a diy video replacing the black seals on that? With the new brown seals.
@RealDj4040 yeah I've got that
If you dont have the grease, what do you use?
Standard grease or molybdenum disulfate
Hi boss my clutch lock can test put in
