    This playlist from Ben was so helpful! I dropped the trans and replaced dual clutch following along and the car is back on the road! Thanks! I had no codes but R, 2, 4th were slipping and trans for warm. When I opened up transmission the bearing was completely broken! Engine hoist was a huge help to be able to move trans around to line up.

    Thank you for everything ben!! I could not have done this without you. All the information you give us focus owners is insanely invaluable and you deserve all the success you're seeing now! I subbed at 1k and now you're at 6.4k. @BigBensCarsAndCycles I just had my transmission fixed, I went ahead and installed it. But now it won't start. It will crank and will only stay on if I rev the engine around 3-4k rpms. It then shuts off if I let off the gas? Does that sound like timing is off? No loud noises, the engine is just struggling to stay on. Thanks for the response 👍

      @BigBensCarsAndCycles so... I bought the 2012 Focus 2 weeks ago. The transmission was slipping and shuddering some. It wasn't real bad, but I wanted it to be as good as possible since it is going to someone who doesn't know a lot about cars and just needed some cheap transportation for a while. Well, my son has been driving it mostly(700 miles), so I was getting ready to work on it today, and I took it out for a drive. It didn't shudder. I had my wife drive it. No shudder. I went out for a ride with my son. He could make it shudder, but normal driving it was fine. I've decided to leave it alone unless it gets worse. Now, I have $1k in parts and tools. I'll have to go buy another one that actually needs a clutch.🤪

    • @BigBensCarsAndCycles
      @BigBensCarsAndCycles  9 месяцев назад +1

      Go drive the car hard and it'll mitigate shudder for a while. But it'll be back. And shudder is pretty much characteristic on these and people have been living with it until a fork locks up.

    • @TheFixitShed
      @TheFixitShed 9 месяцев назад

      @@BigBensCarsAndCycles I have a feeling that is what my son was doing. As I have been going over this car, it looks it may have sat for a little bit before I bought it. The car only has 80k miles, and some barely used parts look a little rusty. Maybe it just needed some hard driving, as you said.

      Out of the 3,000 or so focus clutches I've done that's happened once to me. I'd get it out of the hub, that might make it easier to mess with. Then you can rotate it around easier and try prying different spots. Try a bigger prybar. Try a punch and a hammer to knock it out. One of these tips should work for you
