I just received my adapter today. I set everything up first try. I was a little worried it wouldn’t work since everyone was saying they needed a bt dongle . Now I feel like I just bought a new VR PC headset. Bluetooth Tracking is working perfectly without a dongle. Running a water-cooled 3090 with no complaints. I agree on the colors , brightness and deep blacks. They look incredible! Thanks for awesome review and love the channel. Keep the reviews coming
There isn't HDR on the PSVR2 PC it's OLED they mention not HDR. IVRy put out a tweet about there being a problem with HDR10 and NVidia gpu's which is probably why it's disabled
The colors (GOD, the colors!) blacks and brightness of the PSVR2 is what won it over the Quest 3 for me. I know HDR isn't supported but you could have fooled me with some of the games I've tried, namely Star Wars Squadrons. The only issue I had was Bluetooth, but I bought the ASUS USB dongle Sony recommended and that ended my issues.
I see no difference between HDR and no HDR when running the PSVR2. I feel like HDR might be a gimmick because the brightness and colors look exactly the same on the PS5 and PC.
@FilledWithChi11 I thought HDR in this headset would be like that. I read that the screen is only around 250 nits or so. The recommended HDR minimum brightness is around 600 nits to have decent impact. Long story short, the screen is too dim for impactful HDR. The colors might be slightly deeper with HDR but I figured we wouldn't be able to tell much difference in this headset. Without a proper display the HDR label is kind of a gimmick. Now for OLED displays that can actually display good HDR? Hooo boy I WISH the headset looked as good as my OLED TV with HDR. But alas, not a good enough display panel. But since it's OLED it will still have much better color and contrast even without HDR. People won't even notice the lack of it. I bet most VR games on PS5 don't even use it and people can't tell the difference
@@sawdust8691 To be fair you'd need a lot less in terms of nits to get actual HDR-like experiences with displays glued to your face. Same way that HDR needs to be brighter the further away/larger your TV is. But you're absolutely right - it's a decent panel, and the contrast blows most headsets out of the water, but it's no real HDR experience. We'd probably need some micro-oled displays and higher brightness levels for that to happen.
Have you tried sharpening the image in games that support it? UEVR has the option, VR games with dlss/fsr too. I don't need it with the Quest 3 pancake lenses but I remember that it made a big difference in the Quest 2 for me.
Well considering DLSS/FSR are upscaling methods that wouldn’t really sharpen the image it would make the image less aliased tho. What I am doing is super sampling which is the best method of sharpening an image.
No setup process? I was wanting to see all the possible frustration and cuss words like this other video that I saw yesterday. 😅 I was able to order one today just now from BB. I'm not in a rush so by the end of the month is fine. I went to Sony Direct and was placed in a queue but at the end it just jumped back to the page again saying that it's still not available smh.

@@rodjyx did you buy an extension cable and move it far away from your pc and adapter? Also you have to update the BT dongle drivers and also disable your motherboard or laptop Bluetooth first.
@@emilianomontanari283 Super Sampling and no HDR. Could be something to do with the color science being different on PC not sure exactly but it is less almost unnoticeable in some areas.
I would assume that on PS5 it just outputs an HDR signal at all times, whether or not the game supports HDR. And doing that can raise the gamma levels of grays and stuff, which I guess would make the mura more visible. Since there isn't HDR with the PC, I think the gamma is more correct and thus the mura isn't as visible. The lack of HDR might be a net positive for this headset. Especially since it's screen was never very good at displaying HDR in the first place as it's too dim to make an impact. That's my guess anyway. That and the super sampling.
A lot of RUclipsrs are spreading around questionable advice to just always buy a USB Bluetooth dongle. If you have built-in Bluetooth on your motherboard, you should try this first. I suspect a lot of the people having problems are because their existing Bluetooth support on their motherboard just isn't setup properly and/or is running really old drivers. How many people even know you need to plug in the antennas that came with your motherboard?
lol ! Thanks for the "it does look incredibly sharp I'm not going to lie how ever it still does not look as sharp as the quest 3" Nothing can make the psvr 2 sharp at all due to the filter sony used to mask the mura used for masking the oled display wich does not have as much pixel matrix as an lcd display. Super sampling does not do anything about mura especially when it's foggy it is just everywhere and adding super sampling or running at a steam native resolution 150% reprojection and framerate are absolutely atrocious on a 4090 even at a resolution of 3400*3468 !

Honestly it should have been simple as the meta quest. Just plug the cord that came with the VR headset into the PC and you're all good to play PC VR.
