@@IskandarTheWackDoesn't have to be the best if I haven't already played them one way or another. I only need two to five things I can return to for weeks to make it worthwhile.
I'd rather recommend the Quest 3. It's worth it just for the Beat Saber mods and those thousands of custom songs. But you need a meta account for that sadly.
"Some regret" 10 seconds later: "This is actually f*cking awesome, hahaha." Yeah, the sense of scale and immersion in Horizon CotM was insane. Haven't finished the video, but hopefully he tries RE Village, since that game alone made the PSVR2 worth it to me.
@@timytimeerased Ah damn, but understandable. I hate horror games as well. It was actually the first RE game I've ever finished and it was absolutely transformative. House Beneviento can f*ck right off into the sun, though... xD
Right on. I bought PSVR and PSVR2 specifically for Resident Evil. Amazing experiences. Be sure to check out Propagation: Paradise Hotel or Organ Quarter if you haven't already. Indie VR gems that are basically RE clones.
RE8 in VR is genuinely one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had in my life. It was like being in a crazy horror movie, except you're armed to the teeth and get to fight back instead of just running for your life in abject fear. 10/10 and vr horror in general is *not* my thing either, but I'd still recommend it to everyone and anyone.
After 2 weeks I got aclimated, now I can play hours without getting sick. On my first day I got sick after only 20 minutes for the whole rest of the day. You have to build your VR legs slowly.
100% THIS! This video was fun for a laugh, and I love that it seems from the comments like it's gotten a lot of people interested in VR, but pushing through symptoms like Kyle did is the worst thing to do. Glad you were patient and managed to conquer your motion sickness issues.
@@heinous70 Some people have been playing VR regularly for 8 years at this point. It would be good if someone did a study to make sure there weren't any sort of long-term negative aspects to it.
The important thing is not to let the opinions of others sway your enjoyment. A lot of people who make negative comments on PSVR2 online don't even own 10 games for it. Or don't own the headset at all.
Yea, take most PSVR2 reviews with a grain of salt. The handful of PSVR2 outlets on YT can be quite harsh on games that are totally worth playing. I own 70 games and there are still a few more I need to get. Don't sleep on Ghostbusters if you can access it on PS+, really fun game in coop but the PSVR2 lobbies are sparse so you gotta roll the dice with cross-play and quest kids.😅
I got the PSVR2 to play GT7 with a wheel. It's incredible it's one of my most played games. The day Ace Combat gets PSVR2 on PS5 is the day I lose all productivity.
No star wars squadrons or super hot is a huge oversight, however psvr2 is fun as hell and I'm glad I jumped in at the sale price. Even if I got into a giant fight with my gf lol
Go for it! VR is a blast! But don't be like Kyle. The way he tried pushing through motion sickness is the worst thing to do. There are a bunch of games that almost anyone can play comfortably which is where VR newcomers should start (Beat Saber, Moss 1 and 2, The Room VR: A Dark Matter, Tetris Effect Connected, Puzzling Places, Job/Vacation Sim, and Tentacular to name a few). I have a longer comment on this video where I go through this in more detail if you're curious and can find it. If you want to jump into the deep end with games like Resident Evil 8 or 4 Remake, Horizon, Star Wars, or Gran Turismo 7, there are ways to ease yourself into them where you're less likely to feel sick (use comfort options like click/snap turning, it's what they're there for). If you do feel sick, take a break as soon as you feel symptoms and only start again when you're feeling better. That usually only takes a few minutes or even seconds if you catch it quick enough, but if you're really vulnerable it can be longer. But even if you do feel sick, you can get used to VR after a while as long as you take breaks when necessary. Eventually it stops being a problem entirely. Oh and it helps a lot to have a fan blowing on you while you play. Seems weird, but it can help prevent motion sickness. Hope this helps! PSVR 2 already has over 200 games on it, and Kyle didn't even play the best ones in this video. The youtube channel Without Parole has a fairly recent Top 25 list if you want to see the best the system has to offer.
@@Optamizm I totally agree. I can't even count how many youtube videos I've posted comments or replies trying to give tips to newcomers. What VR needs is for a headset manufacturer to actually create proper onboarding software that brings people into VR the right way. Comfortably show them some of the benefits of VR (scale, depth, interactivity, etc) then walk them through the comfort options and gently test their limits. And when their limits are found, recommend a bunch of good games they could play without issue, and invite them back to push their limits in the future. Sony should have done this, and I'm shocked Meta hasn't. Valve sort of did with The Lab, but nobody knows about it anymore and it's really outdated.
Depends on the person, game, and comfort options. And it's a VR thing in general, not just PSVR 2. There are a lot of games that pretty much anyone can play without feeling sick in the slightest.
I've logged A LOT of hours in VR, and none of it made me as sick as Half-Life 2 on a flat screen, (or pretty much any other non-VR Source Engine game), Forsaken, the Marathon remaster... or many other games. Drive Club VR when I was a VR newbie came close.
@@toddjones1480 There was a space game as part of Playstation VR Worlds called Scavenger's Odyssey, that nearly did me in. Low framerate by VR standards, plus a mechanic where you'd launch yourself toward surfaces at different angles (like a wall) and rotate as you travelled to land in the right orientation...🤢
Scavenger's Odyssey was probably the all-time worst PSVR game for motion sickness - one benefit of not being backwards compatible. I think I finished it, but it was not worth it. Brown and fuzzy and gross looking the whole way through.
I really, really want to play GT7 in vr but haven't even got a ps5, let alone a psvr2! I know for a fact if I already had the console I would have splurged the extra money for the headset just for gt7.
Love this - it would be awesome to get more Kyle VR streams like this. Where he just does a random check in and plays 4-5 games. I love that Kyle is really digging the Horizon game haha I thought it was awesome. Star Wars game is super sick
This was fun to watch. For anyone watching this who wants to buy a PSVR 2 with no regret, some tips: 1) If you're new to VR, take some steps to avoid/mitigate motion sickness. A lot of people don't get motion sick, but here are some suggestions just in case: - It helps to have a fan blowing on you while you play as this keeps you cool, gives you a sense of your real world direction, and grounds your body in reality just a bit. - If you do feel symptoms (nausea, dizziness, sweating unjustifiably), STOP PLAYING. Take a break until you feel better. If you try to push through like Kyle was doing, that'll only make things worse, both in the immediate and long run. Depending on how susceptible you are to motion sickness (and how early you caught symptoms), recovering could range from a few seconds to (in very extreme cases) a few hours. You could take off the headset and do something else, or switch to more comfortable VR games (see below). Over time as you get used to VR, you'll be able to play longer and recover faster until eventually motion sickness just won't be an issue for you. - It's a good idea to start with games that don't move you artificially (Beat Saber, Moss 1 and 2, The Room VR: A Dark Matter, Tetris Effect Connected, Puzzling Places, Job/Vacation Sim, Tentacular, etc.) as those games don't really make anyone sick. - A step up from that are games where you can move or teleport at your own pace (Paper Beast, No Man's Sky creator mode, Red Matter 1, The 7th Guest VR, Kayak VR but enable boat stabilization and don't try the Norway storm level), strategy games (Little Cities: Bigger, A Townsman's Tale, Ghost Signal: A Stellaris Game), or games that auto scroll (Pistol Whip, Rez Infinite, The Dark Pictures Switchback VR though it's a bit fast, Horizon Call of the Mountain's boat ride). - When you're comfortable with those experiences, you can jump into games where you can move freely and get into combat (Star Wars: TftGE, Horizon CotM, Resident Evil Village and 4 Remake, Red Matter 2, The Walking Dead games, Hubris, Madison VR, etc.) or faster games like Gran Turismo 7. - Whenever you're moving up to a more intense game for the first time, it's a good idea to try using the comfort settings which most games provide. Snap turning in particular is highly recommended at first. - If you want to jump straight into GT7 or the RE games, there are steps you can take to ease into them. For GT7, pick cars that are more enclosed and slower (open top F1 cars and go-carts are the roughest). Start in a practice mode on a fairly flat course going at moderate speeds and see how you feel. Also, limit how much you're looking side to side at first, as that's more likely to cause you issues. You can ramp up speed, the car type, and the complexity of the course as your comfort dictates. Some people can just do whatever right away, others need to build up to the more extreme stuff. - For games like RE where you can walk around freely, as I stated before, I'd recommend using the comfort options available at least initially. Settings like snap turning will let most people enjoy the game right away. But if you want the most immersive experience possible without the broken immersion of vignettes and snap-turning, you can condition yourself to get used to things like smooth turning in VR. Go to a safe place (the starting tutorial area for the VR mode is perfect), and enable smooth turning. Do it for a split second then stop and see how you feel. You'll probably feel a bit weird but recover quickly. If you do this repeatedly, turning for longer durations as you become more comfortable (but making sure to fully recover between attempts), it will help condition you to VR fairly fast. However if the recovery time you need is increasing rather than decreasing, you need to take a break for a while. 2) Only get good games. Check reviews from channels focused on VR. This should be general practice at this point, but it's especially important in VR. The VR industry is basically being carried by indie studios at the moment, and while some of them are putting out really great games, others are not (just like with flat gaming). It's more important in VR because if a game doesn't perform well on a technical level it can contribute to motion sickness. It helps to look for games that run at higher native framerates rather than using reprojection. Games like Red Matter 1 and 2, Ancient Dungeon, the Moss games, Madison VR, The Walking Dead games, Song in the Smoke, and The Light Brigade (among others) run at 90fps minimum and are more smooth and comfortable than games that use reprojection (Horizon CotM, the RE games, GT7, and others). For a great list of the best games on PSVR 2, the RUclips channel Without Parole has a fairly recent top 25 list, as well as great reviews that will usually mention framerate/reprojection, as well as a bunch of other useful info. 3) Look for demos, keep an eye on sales, and try genres you normally don't like. Gaming in VR is different than flat gaming. Some genres you wouldn't care about in the slightest if they were flat can actually be really fun in VR. If there's a demo, try it out. If a game has high reviews but isn't normally the sort of thing you'd play, keep an eye out for a deep sale. Many VR games go on sale for dirt cheap if you wait long enough, which makes taking a gamble on something outside your wheelhouse more plausible. Ideally Sony would have a decent refund policy, but they don't, so obviously be careful. PSVR 2 has a lot of great games and there's a lot of fun to be had with it. But like any VR headset, it's possible you won't feel comfortable jumping right into the most intense experiences. Even if you have issues with motion sickness, there's great games you can play comfortably, and you'll get more acclimatized to VR the longer you play. Hopefully these tips help out some new users.
I would add for starters: close your eyes whenever you feel discomfort especially when falling down and do not use smooth turning option, snap turn is much more brain-eyes comfortable. Any discomfort will pass after some number of hours of adaptation when you pass that you can do whatever you want in VR without any sickness.
I just screenshotted this comment. After watching this video I bought a PSVR2 but am afraid to get sick. I've never really tried VR before except one time where I played with someone's Quest 2 for like 20 minutes. I got intensely sick trying the roller coaster game and was nauseous all day, so I'm hoping I can get passed it. I never thought I'd be susceptible to it. I'll use the tips you provided to ease myself in, thanks a lot for this!🎉
@@MasDouc Nice! Really hope it helps you out. 🍻 Since you have a history of experiencing motion sickness, I'd recommend playing seated whenever possible, and sticking to the most comfortable games I listed for a while. You could probably also play games like 7th Guest VR and Paper Beast, as long as you're using teleportation and click/snap turning. And remember to take breaks. It's going to take some time before you can play most games comfortably, but you should be able to gradually expand the games you can play with a bit of patience and persistence. There will likely be some discomfort along the way, but hopefully nothing nearly as bad as that first experience you had. I hope you enjoy your headset. If you have any questions or issues, or want more game recommendations, feel free to reply to this message and I'll help as best I can.
I have a PSVR 2 and love it. I have a lot of fun games for it. I can honestly say it’s so much more fun to not just watch the games on a flat screen, but feel submersed in different environments. It hasn’t been marketed well by Sony from the start and it nice to finally see it get the love it deserves, and to get it into production the hands of more people so they enjoy it, share it, and help grow it.
I had a PSVR1, and while I don't regret buying that one, I am not that convinced to get the PSVR2, can you give me a list of 10 games that you reccomend? So far the only ones I want to play is Horizon.
@@ThePunisherSpiderthe VR2 isn't worth the full price because of limited games. It has been on sale recently for 300 and that's how much it should be. Not enough top quality games on it for paying full price. When I owned it the best games are the rhythm ones, Pistol Whip, RE Village, Horizon was good but has flaws, Rez Infinite and Tetris Effect
Yeah it's actually really counterproductive. Better to start with more comfortable games, and take breaks immediately if you feel motion sickness. You'll get past motion sickness much faster that way. This video was fun for a laugh, but he's reinforcing his motion sickness rather than overcoming it.
@@GreyMatterShades hes actually doing it correctly or atleast the way I did it. Push yourself the first few times and itll settle. 10 hour VRChat sessions got me BENT. 😂
I love horizon call of the mountain but man I’ve been playing PSVR since 2018 and that is the only game that I’ve ever felt really shitty afterwards from
@@TheChaosTheory I've heard conflicting things about that. Some people can get past motion sickness that way, for others it just gets worse and worse and worse. Taking breaks when you feel symptoms, and only pushing yourself in limited controlled amounts seems to be a more surefire way to get over motion sickness based on my own experiences and talking to many others. Glad your method worked for you though!
Owning all major VR headsets I must say - PSVR2 is the most comfortable and advanced one, especially when used with a racing seat and a decent wheel (GT7). Great video!
Yup, GT7 and VR2 is a match made on Heaven The dudes T RSVR2 Underground all were gobsmacked, and none were really interested in driving games before I've had friends try it out. Invariably, the reaction is ALWAYS "WTF?" or variations thereof 😊
Most advanced? No. It's good that it's got eye tracking at that price point, but Fresnel lenses are last generation and the most advanced mainstream OLED is without a doubt the Apple Vision Pro. The lack of wireless connectivity, colour passthrough and the limited feature set of the PCVR connector make it barely competitive, even at the lowered price point.
@@robertchant9627 It's great that the price drop will encourage more console owners to check out VR, and that now it has the PCVR library as an option for owners as well (despite the limitations of the adapter). Especially as there doesn't seem to be any indicator of a PSVR3 on the horizon. It's 1.5 years since the PSVR2 was released (and released to a price point) though, and it's not like VR technology has stood still. For that matter PSVR2 wasn't pushing technology when it was brand new, with the resolution bump being offset by the use of fresnel lenses and a return to pentile subpixel array instead of sticking with the RGB stripe and aspheric lenses of the PSVR1. The idea that the PSVR2 is the "most advanced" mainstream VR headset is just a ridiculous comment. It's great that it offers eyetracking, inside out tracking, oled displays and better haptics at the (now reduced) price point, but it's not really advancing headset technology.
I completely disagree. I was so psyched for PSVR2 that I preordered one before I even bought a PS5 and after having it for a while... I sold it once I got the Quest 3. The Quest 3 is just way more comfortable and way more clear as well as having a wider field of view. Yes, the graphics aren't as good, but ultimately I couldn't go back. And Sony made me not regretful by not supporting the thing. If ever they support it, I may get one again. But as for now, Quest 3 is the best headset by leaps and bounds, in my opinion.
I'm so glad Kyle has psvr2! I'd love seeing you play more. Star Wars has a section with a green lightsaber that's unlocked by picking up a broom in the bar I believe. It's incredible. Red matter 2 is the best looking and playing game on the system. I highly recommend it.
This kind of thing really frustrates me, honestly. It reminds me of the Giant Bomb video where the Giant Bomb office got the Xbox Kinect and Ryan Davis and Vinny Caravella have such a great time messing around with it and playing games that they are laughing so hard they almost throw up. Then when it comes to talking about the device, they bash it and now everyone talks about it being such a "miss". I feel like people have become so unadventurous about gaming that all the want is the same regurgitated crap. And when anything new comes out, their question is "how good is it at regurgitating crap? Oh, bad? Yeah, I don't want that."
If this made you want a PSVR 2, you should get one. It's on for a really good sale price in some countries right now (US, UK, some of Europe), and he didn't even play the best or best looking games. Also, while it was good for a laugh, the way he was trying to push through motion sickness is the worst possible thing to do. There are comfortable games for newcomers, and if you take breaks if you feel sick, most people can get over motion sickness fairly quickly (or just not get it at all with the right games and comfort options).
one thing about VR is the feel of the scale and depth... Gran Turismo 7 in VR is probably the best game ever made for psvr... also table tennis in vr is amazing
Try "Pistol Whip" - it's Beat Saber with guns. One of my VR favorites. Makes you feel like John Wick. Also that Star Wars game looked like a mini Half-Life: Alyx, which was incredible.
YEAAH!! great games both hehehhe I was also commenting some big list to check. Btw there is a TRUE JOHN WICK EXPERIENCE made with HALF LIFE ALYX as big mod and it has become so successfully played that it is now going to be released as a full masive GAME. I have 1 of the 2 missions completed on HARD with gameplay, check these shots and massive JOHN WICK action...with true aim/reload skills... no joke!!: ruclips.net/video/3qfltp7iQ7w/видео.html
Moss is a wonderful game, but it doesn’t have any features especially relevant to the PSVR 2. You could play with a DualShock controller and get the same experience as with adaptive triggers
Yeah I don't get why so many people are still opposed to VR. I was craving it since I've seen it in movies in the 90's like that one with Michael Douglas and Lawnmower Man and jumped right on board with PSVR, Oculus Quest 2, also have PSVR2 since launch. VR is amazing, I'm taking daily mini vacations.
People are opposed to VR because modern gamers don't like new things. They are greedy and want "everything" so they feel that Sony making VR products means they aren't making flat products "for them" that they can look at and not buy. That's why they get angry when Sony designates even mere minutes to VR in a State of Play.
Try not to be put off by the huge amount of DLC courses. It's a lot of post-launch effort by a small team. It's cheaper than seeing a movie, and they've been going back and upgrading the base courses to bring them in line with the new stuff.
The sickness feeling will go away forever after about 2 weeks of consistent play. You HAVE to try No Mans Sky and especially RE4 and Village in VR. Probably the best VR experiences out there. Also Moss 1 & 2 and Puzzling Places for very casual, no nausea experiences!
Puzzling Places is highly underrated. I think the biggest problem with VR acceptance is that gamers are lame and unadventurous in the modern era and they expect to play the same game they always play... but in VR. So it's like "I like FPS so I want an FPS VR game" as opposed to, like, trying Resident Evil when you first got your playstation as opposed to only wanting to play Sonic and Mario. New Platforms demand new games that showcase what they actually do well.
There will always be some kind of binocular effect around your peripheral vision but also in Call of the Mountain you had comfort settings on so you had the vignette, turn it off.
Not always. There's no commercial products on the market yet. But I saw someone had added second screens and full peripheral vision to their headset YEARS ago
@@fillerbunnyninjashark271 yes is does, all headsets even the pimax have limited physical FOVs, the pimax still has it vertically and it’s known as being the only headset to actually address this, the index certainly has it. “The specified field of view is 130°, but users report a practical field of view of 120°.”
@@xephyrxero these are LED light solutions, which are great but they’re not screens. And when I said there will always be some kind of binocular effect I was talking about the PSVR2.
I mean... any "ramifications" are PURELY on a person-by-person basis. I played all of those games and suffered NO "ramifications" at all. I say this frequently, but you know what else made people sick when they first came out and people wouldn't shut up about it? First Person Shooters. When Wolfenstein and Doom came out, there were tons of people always whining about how they couldn't play "those types of games" and how it made them sick. ... like, okay. Great. The rest of us don't really want to hear about how you can't play a game. Don't play it. The world shouldn't change or put warnings on everything just because YOU personally can't play a game. (I'm talking to a fictional person I've invented, not anyone in particular.) Eventually everyone got over talking bout how FPS made people sick and we alll moved on. Now almost nobody talks about it beeches it's a personal issue not worth public time.
"Holy Shit!, Holy Shit!, Look at, ...what, is this a space taco?!? Holy Shit!" I loved it Bro. You gave me quite a few genuine belly laughs, and earned a like and sub. Coming from another psvr2 and longtime original psvr owner though, VR Sickness is really, and holy shit does it really suck. While it was funny to see you lush yourself like that, as I laugh mostly cause I've been there, it is best to pace yourself when starting out with vr. Start with something static and not a lot of movement, and as soon as you start feeling any kind of bad, quit the session for a bit before starting up again. If you push ut too much you can make yourself sick for days and at worst your mind will make an association with vr as something bad that makes you sick, which will make it harder to get your mind acclimated and used to accepting longer vr play sessions. Thanks for the entertaining video. -Rascal
I had never played a resident evil game in my life before the PSVR2 before horror games aren't really my thing. But RE Village in VR was the best gaming experience I've ever had. RE4, GT7, No Man's Sky, and Saints and Sinners right behind it.
One of the biggest wow moments of PSVR2 gaming is that first time you do your room scan, the presentation of that usually makes people go wow. I'd liked to have seen Bosmans reaction to it!
RUclips has never served such a perfectly fitting video to me like this. Especially after I saw the price cut. I’ve been using a second hand Quest 2 to do VR exercise and it’s so much easier. The PSVR2 headband always slips down and it feels so heavy. Yet it feels like such a better headset to game on… maybe I just need to persist!
This is Kyle's channels 2nd most watched video with 100K views in 2 weeks. The most popular video is 123K views in 1 year. This is the interest and fun in VR content. I am sure by now Kyle has build up some VR legs and i hope he continues to play games. Kyle definitely try the RE games and Switchback VR, Box to the beats Pavlov. SYNAPSE.
Always fun to see someone else enjoying VR. You will get over the motion sickness and VR won’t make you sick ever again just gotta get used to it. Try to play with a fan, full stomach and take frequent breaks for the first couple weeks you play and then you’ll be good forever :)
Oh man I haven't seen you in ages! YT's algorithm just randomly recommended me this video and it instantly brought me back to the good 'ol GameTrailers days. Awesome to see you're still creating content, much love!
Oh and btw it just so happens I pulled the trigger on PSVR2 during this sale too so... your vid fed into my lousy attempts at justifying the purchase. ;D
Oof, I've heard what bad framerates do to you in VR. If that Transformers game looked choppy on our end and Kyle was already feeling ill, I can't imagine being in it was pleasant at all. Thank you for your sacrifice, the joy in the rest of the video was palpable.
Congratulations on your purchasse, VR is awesome! Regarding VR sickness: Take a break when you notice that you are getting sick, don't force yourself, it then only gets worse. You will get used to VR and after a few weeks you will rarely get sick anymore. Also check out Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4. Both have a free VR mod you can download when you own the game. They're both amazing :-)
I just bought one and played for the first time yesterday. It’s the best way to play Tetris Effect, played for an hour no problems, 10 minutes in Gran Turismo 7 destroyed me. I heard that ginger is supposed to help with the sickness, gonna grab some ginger snaps and maybe some Airborne.
Take regular breaks. Try using a fan. Stay hydrated. NEVER push through the sickness, Your Brain will associate the feeling with puting on the headset. Start with stationary games and gradually increase to games with more locomotion. Use comfort options if need be. And most importantly, have fun!
Perhaps try a bunch of other stuff to work up to GT7 if the barrier is a bit intense. It’s definitely worth building up toward. Ginger, get a fan blowing on you as well.
the car simulators are advanced level vr , give yourself some time, It took me 1 week to get comfortable with vr when I got my psvr1 back in 2017... I almost died playing resident evil 7 as I was pushing myself to play more and more over my comfort levels. The trick is to take it slow over 1 week , play every day longer and longer until you feel comfortable... ginger helps, a fan blowin air so you don't feel hot also helps... and never push it to the point of feeling super sick, or you will create a rejection. it's worth it investing time to get use to it... once you have VR legs you can play 6h sessions, I've done gaming sessions on psvr2 for Resident evil 4 until my controllers died without battery.
It's such a shame Sony engineered a pretty good headset with great extra features, made one game for it, then has already seemingly abandoned it. Where. Is. Ape. Escape. VR?
thanks for spending the money and physical health for us, kyle. that was a fun video even for someone like me, who will probably never touch a vr headset.
I borrowed psvr2 for a week last december and was blown away with the star wars game and I'm not surprised by your reactions. The haptic feedback and the visuals - when you experience this for the first time, the immersion is really mind blowing. Maybe my memory on this is wrong but the way I remember things is that you can set how you move in game. You have different options : move via laser, move using buttons on the pads or move with hand gestures. Maybe you could try the other options other than moving by pad buttons. I tried that and got immediately sick af, while other two options worked without a problem and I could play as long as the pad batteries lasted. I hope sony brings the discount to EU as well - I'm definitely on the lookout for that. 350$ is a crazy good price for such a product.
I think the problem with that transformer game is the framerate seemed to be hovering in the low 20s, when really VR needs framerates above 60, ideally something like 90. Such low framerates taking up your entire field of view are gonna make you sick very quickly.
I used to do an hour or two of Beat Saber, Pistol Whip, and STRIDE (not sure if that one's on PSVR2 yet) and would be completely wiped out by the end, and I had a blast the whole time. I gotta get back into doing that.
Neat show, but as someone that doesn't have the space for it I will have to live vicariously through Kyle Bosman's adventure in nausea and disorientation. That alien though...
As a long advocate of VR, this is unbelievably satisfying. It's hard to appreciate how different it is BEING in a game world is, and how amazing it can be. But, as with any medium, you need games. Luckily, PSVR2 has a large number of good/great games. With any luck, the recent sales boom, and push for hybrids will increase the library substantially. Do not sleep on PSVR2. It is a literal GAME CHANGER.
There are a lot of fantastic games on the PSVR2 now, I can see a lot of comments here recommending the top ones you should be going for (Resident Evil, GT7, Moss book 1 & 2, Synapse, Walkabout mini golf), but do try to ease yourself into VR gaming. With the look on your face, I was impressed you held out as long as you did. You should be trying as many VR games as possible where you don't move first (such as Beatsaber & Zombieland), just to get completely used to interacting with a stereoscopic display method......that in itself is enough to make some people get nauseous in seconds (as we're basically raised on single flat screen interaction from the crib these days)
@@wesleyackerman8211 that is good to know. I'm actually looking on playstations website atm and they're offering psvr2 for £350 so £170 off sold directly from playstation so I'm actually pretty tempted.
@@DaRkLoRd-rc5yu Yeah a lot of great games have free PSVR2 upgrades which no one seems to mention, they just love to bang on about no backwards compatibility. There are quite a few more.
@@shaolinpunkFTW Still kind of insane that Sony didn't even update their own PSVR1 titles, though. That alone shows how little commitment Sony were putting towards PSVR2. Astrobot Rescue Mission should have been the most obvious thing to update, and they just didn't bother. And there's simply loads of good 3rd party PSVR1 titles that just never got any update. I can see why people were annoyed, though many simply did not understand that Sony could not just make PSVR1 titles auto-compatible with PSVR2. Not how it works.
I highly recommend the game "light brigade" if you plan on doing this again. It's a relatively slow roguelike shooter that has a teleport option and an incredible WW2 aesthetic, i love it.

@@GreyMatterShadesI hate how VR needs people to teach newcomers how to get their VR legs, but it is what it is.
@@GreyMatterShades you should work for Meta.
@@Optamizm Thanks! I hate Meta though. I'd rather work for a competing company and drive them out of business. Not many options to choose from, sadly.

My take away is that PSVR2 is roughly equivalent to drinking a couple shots of Everclear and going on the local carnival Gravitron.
Even reading this made me feel woozy
Love this - it would be awesome to get more Kyle VR streams like this. Where he just does a random check in and plays 4-5 games. I love that Kyle is really digging the Horizon game haha I thought it was awesome. Star Wars game is super sick
This was fun to watch. For anyone watching this who wants to buy a PSVR 2 with no regret, some tips:
1) If you're new to VR, take some steps to avoid/mitigate motion sickness. A lot of people don't get motion sick, but here are some suggestions just in case:
- It helps to have a fan blowing on you while you play as this keeps you cool, gives you a sense of your real world direction, and grounds your body in reality just a bit.
@@juu226 Both good tips. Snap turning especially is super important when starting out with VR.
Since you have a history of experiencing motion sickness, I'd recommend playing seated whenever possible, and sticking to the most comfortable games I listed for a while.

@@Joric78😢

This kind of thing really frustrates me, honestly.
God this made me want a PSVR2 so badly, I am cursed

People are opposed to VR because modern gamers don't like new things. They are greedy and want "everything" so they feel that Sony making VR products means they aren't making flat products "for them" that they can look at and not buy. That's why they get angry when Sony designates even mere minutes to VR in a State of Play.
Try Walkabout Mini Golf, Kyle. It's not a technical showpiece, but it's very cozy and easier on the eyestrain.

I loved it Bro.

I had never played a resident evil game in my life before the PSVR2 before horror games aren't really my thing. But RE Village in VR was the best gaming experience I've ever had. RE4, GT7, No Man's Sky, and Saints and Sinners right behind it.
right on! RE4 and Walking dead Saints and sinners are amazing
GT7 with a force feedback wheel and psvr2 💟🌌
Yup. Got a Logitech G Pro and NLR GT Elite aluminium profile rig. Heaven.
I approve of this "lazy chilling" type of videos... It is good to hear it in a tone I would use...
SYNAPSE.
I'd love a part 2 to this
So many more great games waiting for you! You would absolutely love Pistol Whip, I'm sure about that.
I would give anything for a sequel to this video.
read: I would give nothing. But I still would really love it
I would give a hearty thumbs up
I believe this is my favourite video Kyle has made since starting this channel.
I love you Kyle. Keep being you.
Always fun to see someone else enjoying VR. You will get over the motion sickness and VR won’t make you sick ever again just gotta get used to it. Try to play with a fan, full stomach and take frequent breaks for the first couple weeks you play and then you’ll be good forever :)
Synapse, Propagation Paradise Hotel, RE 4 and 8, walkabout mini golf. Amazing titles.
Oh man I haven't seen you in ages! YT's algorithm just randomly recommended me this video and it instantly brought me back to the good 'ol GameTrailers days. Awesome to see you're still creating content, much love!
Oh and btw it just so happens I pulled the trigger on PSVR2 during this sale too so... your vid fed into my lousy attempts at justifying the purchase. ;D
Play some Moss 1&2, one of the best games if you’re new to VR. And since you enjoyed Beat Saber you really should give synth rider a chance.
Oof, I've heard what bad framerates do to you in VR. If that Transformers game looked choppy on our end and Kyle was already feeling ill, I can't imagine being in it was pleasant at all. Thank you for your sacrifice, the joy in the rest of the video was palpable.
take a shot every time kyle says "holy shit" XD
You will be as rough as him by the end.
It just takes time to build up your VR legs, don’t push yourself
Take regular breaks. Try using a fan. Stay hydrated. NEVER push through the sickness, Your Brain will associate the feeling with puting on the headset. Start with stationary games and gradually increase to games with more locomotion. Use comfort options if need be. And most importantly, have fun!
Perhaps try a bunch of other stuff to work up to GT7 if the barrier is a bit intense.
It’s definitely worth building up toward.
Ginger, get a fan blowing on you as well.
@@DissTrackTedthe fan and short breaks after playing for awhile helps. Set an alarm to take a break if needed
the car simulators are advanced level vr , give yourself some time, It took me 1 week to get comfortable with vr when I got my psvr1 back in 2017...
You need to play the Resident Evils, No Man's Sky, Gran Turismo 7. They're some of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.
I got mine day 1 and have yet to regret it
Same, I've had so much fun with it.
Love my PSVR2, had one since launch and no regrets. NMS is amazing on it.
It's such a shame Sony engineered a pretty good headset with great extra features, made one game for it, then has already seemingly abandoned it. Where. Is. Ape. Escape. VR?
Kyle, you haaave to turn this into a series 😍😍😍
Play Gran Turismo 7 Kyle,it's nuts in VR
thanks for spending the money and physical health for us, kyle. that was a fun video even for someone like me, who will probably never touch a vr headset.
It looks like you had your comfort setting for vignettes on for call of the mountain which is why you’re feeling like looking thru binoculars 👍
Bro, this made me want to get this vr headset now.
That was awesome. I’d like to see you play walkabout mini golf, and Madison VR, as well as as Gran Turismo
Playing with a cat is the best vr experience I’ve ever seen
Until they eat my cord. I've gone through so many headphone cords lol.
GT7 and the Logitech Wheel is a dream that keeps dreamin
I’ve enjoyed what I’ve played (Hellsweeper, Arizona Sunshine 2, Synapse)
Please Kyle, try GT7 with a wheel possible❤
Also those are not tacos, they are clearly Ronto Wraps available at Ronto Roasters in Disneyland
"Because obviously we have some regret" 😂 15:07 that got me. It felt like acknowledging the perpetual regret we feel
I think the problem with that transformer game is the framerate seemed to be hovering in the low 20s, when really VR needs framerates above 60, ideally something like 90. Such low framerates taking up your entire field of view are gonna make you sick very quickly.
72 is the absolute minimum. 90 is the reasonable minimum. And 120 is the sweet spot.
I love your enthusiasm.
I picked one up to and immediately played RE4 Remake. Very cool, and nice that it's a free update, but my guts were squirming after an hour.
A responsible person at this point would stop watching Kyles Videos, but it is too much fun seeing the world through his eyes. 😂
Maybe I should watch the streams but I have NEVER seen Kyle enjoy a game like he is here 😂
Pistol whip on PS VR is the single greatest experience I've ever had playing on any console in my life. I was there from the start. Zx81
As a PSVR2 owner, yeah.
I cackled at the headline. This is gonna be good.
You can genuinely use Beat Saber for a workout regimen
I used to do an hour or two of Beat Saber, Pistol Whip, and STRIDE (not sure if that one's on PSVR2 yet) and would be completely wiped out by the end, and I had a blast the whole time. I gotta get back into doing that.
Neat show, but as someone that doesn't have the space for it I will have to live vicariously through Kyle Bosman's adventure in nausea and disorientation. That alien though...
You have to try RE4 remake in PSVR2. that's awesome
13:10
>Find an alien keyboard
>Plays chopsticks
Kyle is all of us.
If it was backwards compatibile some how with psvr1 games i would buy one with no problem with it.
it is SOME, but actually most of them have been ported over and most of those don't ask you to pay for them again.
No Man's' Sky, Resident Evil 4 and Village, Beat Saber, Synth Riders, Windlands 2, Red Matter 1, The Room VR, After The Fall, Cave Digger 1 and 2 and Not For Broadcast VR all include the VR2 version if you have the VR1 version.
Rescue mission relies on features of the DualShock 4 that aren’t on the dialsense
I highly recommend the game "light brigade" if you plan on doing this again. It's a relatively slow roguelike shooter that has a teleport option and an incredible WW2 aesthetic, i love it.
Welcome to the party
