Option 3. I want you to finish that damn trickle you so graciously call a river . . And you can chane the trumpet interchange for a cloverleaf or roundabout one.
Option 3, the motorway is annoying right now. Bit surprised that the new high density area didn't get a metro connection but that's normal government planning. 😋
Option 3 also means he can adjust the metro connection to the Wold and also connect the new area to there so IMHO that's the best option. It will also get us closer to the lake which should allow for some interesting stuff. Only drawback is having to deal with water again.
@@oKnuTo Part of why it works in the game is that you can move things around pretty easily esp. with MoveIt and Anarchy. Imagine trying that in the real world. "We have to move your house 5 meters so we can build a metro station next to and under it."
Biffa, I've been playing around with the 'Realistic Population' mod and in answer to your question around the 21:30 mark, your budget for education SEVERELY impacts the school capacity. If you have your budget at 50%, your student capacity will be at 50% of stated. If it's 100%, it will = stated. I haven't tried going above 100%, but check your education budget. That may fix your 1100 student stated v 545 student in game issue.
Counting the number of balconies on the HDB apartments at 25:20, it looks like it’s 48 balconies on each side plus another 48 on the orthogonal side, so there should be 144 households per building in my opinion!!! That would help a lot They would be one or two bedroom flats, which makes sense I was not able to count balconies on the high rise apartments, but those seem like they would be larger flats with more bedrooms or larger living rooms
Yeah the number is alot more than he put, i was thinking he was making it for the super rich getting a floor to themselves must be a few mill for that apartment 🤣
Option 3! Want to see more "niceness-along-the-river" action. Also: when you added the no trucks restriction, you forgot the lane heading IN to the district. Only the two ones heading out were blocked. So trucks will still squish the kiddlywinkys on their way to McDonalds. 😄
Option 3 so you can finally connect up the motorway properly, and extend the canal. But also, do you think 60k might be a good milestone to turn on extra square mods? I’m not sure you can fit 22k in that square with reasonableness.
The bus route at 23:30 needs a counter route. For a route ABCDEF to travel from stop D to C you would need to travel DEFABC - so buses stay fuller for longer.
Use of dedicated turning lanes at 35:00 means that the straight-on arterial capacity is halved. Better to have left and straight on share a lane. Lane mathematics works at junctions too.
Great ep. Biffa! You'd probably see a footie or rugby pitch near that school complex. Or a shared recreation area. (Old common land etc.) Also, be good to see a couple of churches in some of the older parishes and if it's ready to crowned a city, maybe a cathedral in the future?
option 3 looks like a great call upgrade the highway , you could even add highway to near the build on this episode to add options for traffic and it will give room for both city parts grow , and it moves you closer to the spilled tea lake
Hello Biffa. I want you to know that your lovely calm voice has helped me through this week. I have been sick everyday for almost a week now, and it has triggered my health anxiety so I wake up and have anxiety attacks for hours. You have helped me so much (I write this as a tear falls from my eye) I so appreacte you for just doing what you like, it has profound effects on those of us that need a familiar and relaxed voice in the background. Thank you so much
I personally like Option 3 best, easy access to the highway and you can "close" the various public transport loops. Second would be Option 2, again because of easy access to highway. Option 1 has a lot of space, but harder to connect to the outside network overall.
I'd say option 3 in an old fashioned plus ultra modern theme....most cities start alongside rivers and coasts so it could be an amazing old but redeveloped area like the Dublin docks, Manchester canal or London's various areas (Greenwich, embankment, city etc)
That 4 Lane Road you are using at 3:52 is a bike road. It's in the bike tab of your roads and it has a bike symbol on it. They cycle on the outside of the road in the gap between the car lane and pavement
Option 3, because, like you said, you can carry on the wold, and it'll also give you an opportunity to carry on the university, perhaps provide accomodation/party life alongside the river? - I think that'd be really cool!!
Yeah. I think the option 3 might be the one to choose, so you can continue developing the city. And don't forget train in the new area. And one last thing the blue you've used to connect the new area, isn't it a little too long, perhaps another one would help, one stopping in front of the new school and going to the high density residential.
for some reason your videos make me so happy. i like so much see you actually care about the population happiness and quality of life! if you would run for mayor of my city i would definitely vote for you lol
Option 3. There are a lot of people in the area you just built... Elder care? Child care? Health care? Maybe a different hospital? Teaching hospital? Dental school? Maybe movie house? Concert hall? Great series!
I belive option 3 is the most usefull: you can work with the motorway, having new road connections, plenty of industrial space and the most important one: you are closer to the lake/shore!
Good time to build a McDonalds - on average there's one per 51k Brits. Also the road you wanted to ban trucks from you only banned them leaving & tile-wise I'd love to see the Wold grow with option 3 and then start seeing the two once separate towns perhaps start to slightly merge at the fringes as often happens. Loving the content! :)
Mornin' Biffa! I think option 3 for a new square would be wonderful! Lots of road building and getting new connections to outside. Maybe a new shopping centre there as well? Also, in Swanscombe, don't forget to involve the wonderful metro you've got going!
I propose for option 3 there are three points from what I can make on why it's suitable to unlock that plot: 1. A better motorway connection from Teahampton to Kettling 2. With the canal connected you could have boat services towards Kettling 3. A railway extension beyond Kettling
Defiantly voting for option 3, the river front is a golden opportunity for a tourist/leisure area you see in places like London, Liverpool and Manchester. Also regarding 'The Point' tower blocks in this video - my aunt lived in these style of blocks in East London and there were five (5) flats per floor each (four 2 bedroom and one 1 bedroom if I remember correctly) for a total of 110 flats - so maybe useful for the realistic population mod! Loving the build Biffa, looking forward to see how this develops. 👍👍
I feel the new high residencial area deserves a metro stop to prevent the same bus overload situation at the other area. Also, idk but I feel like an area like that (high density) would have a lot more parking available. In my opinion at least. Either way, looking good and keep it up Biffa 😀
I love it when you upload a new episode of this city! Since the city is getting quite large, how do you feel about adding larger city services like churches, jails, nightclubs/cinema's/theatres, a cardealer or junkyard, a marketplace.. I'm not even sure whether this is all in City Skylines or not tfb. I play the game but I always start a new city and get lost when my population is about 18K
Biffa, the new district looks great. A proper council built high density housing area that has slowly evolved since first built in the 1960's. It is an ideal candidate for a metro station
Another one for option 3 here - would be nice to square off that corner, improve connectivity, and get a nice continuous flow to the river. Also, a thought occurred when you were building the schools. I can understand fewer sports options in crowded cities with limited space, but I feel like BoW is more suburban/rural, less dense with more room. How about providing more sports amenities for the schools such as football and rugby pitches, perhaps even a small cricket pitch to act as a feeder for the local team?
Option 3; Simply to fix the junction and creating more and better connections between the cities LOVING this city/build, I started sceptical but I think it's become my favourite that you've done thus far!
I guessed around 5,000 in Croyden Gardens. In the new midrise, I count 8 balconies on each floor with 12 floors, so they should have at least 96 households each. That also means that the new highrise should be close to double that... I'd go with maybe 150%... so 144 households. Also, Option 3 - would be great to have a riverfront university.
Idk if you are actually using the 81 tiles mod (it's on the linked mod collection, so I'm assuming you are). It has a nasty bug when combined with metro lines, where it will make most lines randomly sunk further and further into the terrain whenever you buy a new map tile. There's only one known workaround, and it doesn't work with ongoing maps: You have to "cheat" unlock all tiles beforehand at game start before you construct anything else.
Great looking estate, I wasn't sure about the modern look to start with, but it turned out looking nothing how I expected, it looks fantastic, also I really like Finnegan Donahoue's suggestion in the comments of Swantea for the name, but make it Swantea Towers (like faulty towers, British sitcom). Option 3 is my vote too, you could fit a lot of High residential in that square which could take you up to the next 70k milestone , i'm looking forward to you building more onto the Wold River and sorting out the next interchange. yet another intriguing video. Thanks.
Hey Biffa, I added key mapping shortcuts to the road/path tool mode: 7 straight, 8 curved, 9 freeform and 0 for upgrade. Amazing how much easier drawing roads and path shapes especially if you need to switch modes. Saves me moving the cursor to the bottom left and manually click the different modes every single time. Thought I'd share.
The Disaster Response building looks like some British museum and city halls so you could find some museums and other type government buildings that look similar around the same area Option 3
Option 3, especially to continue the train line/s and have the wold water connection continue and aswell change the motorway intersection which is kinda annoying right now
I'm building from new with Realistic population, it's hard to build enough sprawl to unlock HD zoning - but once you can drop in HD it changes everything
Option 3 and you could eventually add a nice little village by the lake, also I agree with some other comments about adding a metro connection to the new area you just built as it seems to be a good location for one.
Always a learning experience, but some of the little things are highly amusing. @14:23, as you're talking about the bus/metro stop, watch the people coming out of the metro. I watched it 3 times because I thought it was great. Popcorn! XD
Great video again Biffa. But when using the realistic population mod, low residential will not increase household numbers when upgrading them. That's the point of the realistic population mod. As long as the size of the building doesn't change, the number of household also does not change.
Biffa upgrading a house does not gives you more population, at least not in a low residential zone. The house will still have the two households and the population remains the same. That is only true for high rises where the building upgrade from, lets say, 4 floors to 15
Since you were fixing the railway, I just realised how unrealistic this is as a British theme, there are no rail replacement bus services, and the trains are actually running!
Hello Biffa, just started the Video, i am at 2:18 actually. If you want a good Suburban road that look good with Bikability "Dutch Suburban Road + Trees" in the workshop. I didn't in the last video and i kinda regret it now! Bike share the road with the cars but it is great for suburban, and it doesn't show the bike lanes (since they are on the road). I would laugh so hard if I finish the video and you already got them! Keep up the good work, love the videos! and I forgot to mention... Trees and parkings. it is everything in one network!!!
Option 3 Time for the water soaker trucks to make guest appearance again. Also those high rise residents need a local boozer/ social club.. and a bit more light for the lower level residents, those trees would drive me to drink.. Also you got any power substations I have one next to my house.. Also where do the 50,000 residents go to play your Sat/Sun, Wed afternoon football, how about a large area with 4-6 football fields.
these are my absolute favourite kinds of episodes - we get to see all of your creativity in building new and original areas whilst also expanding the city!! this area just was so fun to watch being built - a bit of a modern feel is very refreshing as well as satisfying all those commercial and industrial needs :) brilliant episode!!!! for this bustling new modern area may i suggest something named after a london borough to represent its more busy, shopping-like nature? Tealing (Ealing) or Brewisham (Lewisham) or Chamomileden (Camden)? just an idea :)
Option 3, and I like the name "Earlton" both expressing the quality facilities and recreation from the meaning of "Earl," and that Earl grey is a kind of tea. Love what you're doing so keep at it!
Option 3's probably most practical, so you could finish the motorway and adjust the elevated metro track. Speaking of which, perhaps you could place an elevated train station in the triangular commercial area right by the parking lot at East Charlton?
As I'm a huge fan of Sean Lock, I'd love for you to include a little apartment block seemingly in the middle of nowhere to replicate the one in 15 Storeys High. Also, would be funny if you recorded it but don't actually put the building of it into a video until it's been there for a while and people are starting to comment about it. Also, the you mentioned that metro along the motorway was to be built as it if it were repurposing a disused rail line, which is cool, but in that case, the section along the motorway should be ground-level and the bits not along the motorway--which would have been built later--should stay elevated. Also, to continue that 'lore' you should add railroad tracks along the motorway that you never connect into actual railroad as 'decoration' to represent the old tracks. I had a quick look at the workshop and couldn't find a good derelict train track asset, but you could just use the regular tracks and be careful not to connect them into your actual network.
News Flash: Mayor Biffa Crumbles - Car Lobby pressure too much for the Mayor - By replacing many of the new cycling paths in Croydon Gardens with parking spots, the Mayor gives in to pressure from Car lobbyists.
In my opinion you should unlock the tile with the highway that always backs up with the influx of new people coming into the city to be able to rework the interchange.
Hey Biffa, I think you mentioned the commuter mod to see where people wants to go by clicking on the stops, actually it's working fine now, I checked in the list of compatible mods and it doesn't say it isn't working. I hope you see my comment and take a look at it :) BTW, love your videos :)
Option 3, would love to see a nice flow rather than seperated villages. Highway connection to new high populace region a major plus as well, not to mention all those dead end roads with what is now one of the bigger residential areas of the city. New area called Varietea because its so different from everywhere else
27:18 In all honesty, with the layout of the asymmetrical exterior, it looks like there are indications of 3 apartments per floor. Three sets of dual windows next to a broad single window. The end with what looks like just a hallway leading to a section with three tiny windows is probably the respective lobby and elevator area for each floor. I would say that there are 36 units for each building and not 24. If one were to take the thin groove down the middle of the building as an indication of a split, then by the look of the columns of windows there could be even 48 households. The section furthest from the elevator area being two to three bedroom flats, and the section closest to the elevators being single to two bedroom apartments. The small windows on the structure proper would be the bedroom windows, and the more broad windows would be the living area for the living room or dining room area.
More of the Wold! Option 3! it's the best feature of the build so far, been waiting for a long time for you to continue developing around the river! great content as always! thank you so much!!!

and I forgot to mention... Trees and parkings. it is everything in one network!!!
Johnson left, you've uploaded... What a great day
also, option 3
Hopefully someone actually conservative will replace him
@@lolman533 Let's not get that political under Biffa's video. Just celebrate Johnson's resignation, he was universally hated
@@AlLiberali alright, I just hope British culture is preserved.
Defo option 3. Finish off the wold and sort out that motorway interchange then option 2.
i would pick option 2 cuz you can make a little new city.
Loving this build Biffa - I so enjoy watching you build. I think option 3 makes the most sense for coherency. Keep it up!
Option 3, for sure. More access to the highway, and the river/lake area look promising for some good looking development.
Option 3 is clearly the best here, you can fix the intersection and ``britteafy´´ it and continue with the Wold.
these are my absolute favourite kinds of episodes - we get to see all of your creativity in building new and original areas whilst also expanding the city!! this area just was so fun to watch being built - a bit of a modern feel is very refreshing as well as satisfying all those commercial and industrial needs :) brilliant episode!!!! for this bustling new modern area may i suggest something named after a london borough to represent its more busy, shopping-like nature? Tealing (Ealing) or Brewisham (Lewisham) or Chamomileden (Camden)? just an idea :)
Option 3.
Also you should name the area Little Amsteadam, due to you using all those Dutch style houses
A rainy day in Stockholm with 13°C and Biffa on the iPad just made my day. Thanks for this video. Its just fantastic to see you building this.
I would probably say square option #3 because it has a lot of potential and could be used to finish the river work and add another highway connection
Option 3 is the best. You could build on the river again!
Option 3 so you can merge The Wold down to Swanscombe and have a more joined up urban area
Option 3, motorway plus need to add metro to the swancombe area, should be called, "Toberone towers or To- Borbons Towers" Couldn't decide which one 😊
New district should be called “Little Amsteardam” with all that dutch theme
Hmm, names... Swanstea, both a reference to Swansea in wales, with a twist of tea
Option 3, get that motorway and river sorted!
Hey, you should have some motorway service stations that also include electric charging and food etc!
Option 3. It's been long since you continued building on the wold. Also there's highway access
I hope you see my comment and take a look at it :)
BTW, love your videos :)
Option 3 definately! So that you can adjust the height of the canal one more time:)
Yay, more flooding... ;)
Option 3. Waiting patiently to see the wold finished, and the river to get fixed.
Great little build, mate. Option 3 makes most sense to me.
Option 3 to finish The Wold and adjust the motorway love the videos
37:18 - You're still allowing for trucks to enter here, you just disallowed them on both lanes going out ;)
More of the Wold! Option 3! it's the best feature of the build so far, been waiting for a long time for you to continue developing around the river! great content as always! thank you so much!!!
Option 3, but you might also want to start looking at industry. I would be interested to see the Unemployment figures.
