This a little series I have decided to make. I will compile what I believe to be the greatest quotes of animated cartoon characters proceeded by a clip show set to a song I feel embodies the Character, this time being Apocalypse . If you have any recommendation put them in the comments below. Thank You - Кино
Apocalypse has the best one liner ever in cartoon history. "I am as far beyond Mutants as they are beyond you.
SMD2x That line was remixed from an old Star Trek original series episode . The connection is that although Spock 🖖 delivered this line , the actor who played a Klingon captain in that same episode went on to provide the voice for this version of Apocalypse.
@@allseeingi never knew that. thats so cool
Yep he does. Sounds like masonic darwinism. Its the deepness and authoritativeness of the voice that makes him sound so awesome
That line literally made me shed tears
i was going to say the same thing
Man. Apocalypse is terrifying because none of his boasts are lies.
He was the Lich King before it was cool.
he be talkin big shit but he backing it up.da x men just cant fuck with him and he don't mean da world no good

Apocalypse: Step it up... Doom!
@@furyberserk Poccy is one Villain who would give Doom hell. They are my favourite Marvel villains.
Apocalypse in the 90s cartoon was never in any trouble at any time. Never hurt. Never desperate. Never worried. Never on a last breath or a last chance at something of any kind. This guy was simply untouchable. Everybody threw everything at him and all it did was make him come up with these awesome quotes.
And that what made his character so iconic amongst all animated characters that ever hit the screen. No wonder his name is "Apocalypse"
Ya the movie ruined him
It basically took every single telepath powered by God levels of time buffs in order to kill him in the 90s cartoon at the end of Beyond Good and Evil (it was supposed to be the finale of the 90s cartoon).
Well, kind of. The first time we actually see Apocalypse in a situation that proves daunting for even him is when Beast overrides Apocalypse's ship (with help from the ships' A.I. of course) and turns the internal weaponry against him even causing him utter a pained gasp from the initial weapons blast. But I think that the ship was based on Celestial technology (not really covered in the animated series, it was explained in several issues of the original X-Factor comic book run written during the mid-late 1980s).
Even so, Apocalypse was still an unstoppable 'juggernaut'.
@@Darthzilla99 And then they brought him back in the 5th season episode entitled "The Fifth Horseman". I'm kind of wondering if that will be revisited in the upcoming X-Men 97 series.
"I am the rocks of the eternal shore. Crash against me and be broken!!"
If Apocalypse utters this line in the movie, I will squeal like a little girl.
I would faint.
AAAAaand he doesn't. Infact, he's rather quite pathetic. Hell, he's shorter than the four hourseman.
Most Epic Line of all time
Someone says that to me, I'm like, 'yeah, um, you win... just don't hurt me, please.' Talk about intimidation.
Anonymous if someone wants to fight Me, iam gonna use that line, iam sure they would think 3x
"I am as far beyond mutants as they are beyond you..."
That line gave me chills twenty years ago...and still does.
That makes sense. I like how in the X men lore he has been around since ancient Egypt. He was actually the first mutant ever in existence(I think).
You are right. He was...@@NS-ms5eg
I never forgot that line
Whoever came up with Apocalypse's quotes is a genius.
Seriously. I want to give a shout out for making characters that could ring through to the children while being sophisticated enough to be appreciated as adults.
Jean Grey: " Mr. Sinister, why did you do this...?"
Apocalypse: "Because I TOOOOLD him TOO!"
You forgot the "AHAHAHAHA!"
LOL

Still a powerful supervillain that wants to rule the Earth where the strong survive.

@@ForJustice-bl6rs In Ancient Egypt where he grew up, that was perfectly "normal" for the ruling class to believe.(As most of the ruling class the world over secretly still does!)
For You Heart, body, soul are MINE!
His personality was what made him even more terrifying. The 90s cartoon portrayed every characters personality perfectly. I doubt they will do him justice in the movie
I agree man. I have hope that the creators studied his past incarnations well.
+talon pulse I must admit though, sophie turner was practically born to play Jean.
I agree. They made him some weird broody prophet in the movies. He is not. He is apocalypse made flesh. The end bringer.
indeed!
@@DEATHBYFLYINGCDS dark Phoenix will be a farrrr better movie
“I am the rocks of the eternal shore. Crash against me and be broken!!”
I loved that quote so much I have it tattooed on me. Apocalypse is one of my all time favorites
Awesome
It's also MY FAVORITE!! No tatt though 😂
I say this when I'm trying to hype myself up to do something challenging.
😂😂😂😂😂
"Since when does the humankind know what it needs?"
He's got you there, Charles.
True.
In these appearances,he was uniquely strong and intimidating, especially in the 90s cartoon.
In the movie,he was just another dark-cloaked Marvel villain.
Mat Red Fox didn't ruin Apocalypse this is just another example of fans knowing nothing. Who is Apocalypse he is an all powerful mutant from ancient Egyptian times who believes that it is the divine right of the strong to rule the world and the weak must be eliminated. Due to his immense power he sees himself as a god and believes due to being the strongest it is his right to rule the world. He ruled as a god for many ages until he was betrayed and forced into a deep sleep. He recruits powerful mutants to serve as his four horsemen. He is a full on social Darwinist who seeks the destruction of the world to build a better one. That sounds exactly like Apocalypse to me.
Fans know nothing you know nothing about Apocalypse you like him because he has an awesome voice and speech pattern that's it, you don't care about anything regarding the actual character. For example Apocalypse's social Darwinism the core of his whole character is not really present in the show he never seeks out the strong he never tries to separate the strong from the weak, Apocalypse's whole philosophy is not focused on. The movie does focus on it, in the comics Apocalypse is persuasive so persuasive that three X men have joined him at some point willingly.
Fox understood Apocalypse Singer understood Apocalypse the only ones who didn't were you and all the other shallow fans it's becoming a common occurrence. Comic fans don't understand the characters or the source material anywhere near as much as they think they do if they did they wouldn't be saying the characters were ruined all the time.
Trent Osborne He wasn't exactly "ruined" in my eyes.
I just believe that the cartoon was better at presenting him in an original way than the Fox movie.
Which is fine but as I have said already nineties Apocalypse was not comic Apocalypse, movie Apocalypse was. In the comic Apocalypse persuaded Wolverine, Angel and Gambit to all join him willingly at one point. He was so persuasive he convinced these heroes to turn on their ideals. He took advantage of their weakened states exploited their flaws and pain and made it appear he was the best answer to their problems. He managed to actually convince these people that what he was doing was for the best that he actually did care about their predicament these were all people who fought against him and he brought them to his side willingly.
Trent Osborne alot of people were okay with what the movie had apoc do....its how ridiculous he looked and how short and weak he looked haha dude was shorter than storm! And all the powers that they didnt show in the movie that he did alot in cartoon and comics, how bout his shapeshifting! The only time he even grew in size was in charles head! That fuckin weak, the fact they didnt make apoc CGI was a slap in apocalypse face, no human can pull his character off without Looking silly like it did. Total letdown, i do like that they gave him some decent respect in how hard he was to beat. Even tho he shouldnt have been beat at all. Just annoyed and leave is the best you can hope to make appcalypse do
"I am as far beyond mutients as they're beyond you" best line.
"Like Sisyphus am I doomed to failure for all eternity?" If you know the story of Sisyphus you'd see why this line was so good. In greek mythology, Sisyphus was cast to the underworld and as punishment he had to roll a boulder up a giant hill. He'd always reach it just barely to the top, only for the boulder to roll back down and he'd have to start all over, in an endless cycle for eternity. So for this analogy, apocalypse is saying that even though he has all this power, he's only come just BARELY come close to world domination since the X Men always stop him. Which in turn makes him question if he's doomed to always fail and never meet his goal of conquest. For once, Apocalypse has questioned himself that if what he's doing can be achieved. If in fact, only the strongest can survive in his eyes, why can he not accomplish his goal? Maybe Apocalypse overestimated himself and he is in fact NOT the strongest. Talk about a mid life crisis
Brilliant comment
This is literally an underrated comment
@@justinrivera1618 Very underrated
Don't forget, Apocalypse would have walked around Greece during the times of their myths. He might have actually known Sisyphus.
The other fun part is that Apocalypse speaks the way he does because he has spent lifetimes around the greatest philosophers, thinkers, and poets of human history. En Sabah Nur lives for the dramatic!

RIP John Colicos (December 10, 1928 - March 6, 2000) voice of Apocalypse
+Philip Waress and KOR
+Philip Waress Epic voice.
+Philip Waress -Great, great actor.
+Philip Waress Technically half of these are James Blendick. Pretty sure it was a different guy in "The Fifth Horseman" too.
You are probably right - just the like first voice actor for Gambit was the best.
That's by far his best version, even better than the comics. His voice, his mannerisms, the poetic use of language. They're literally soothing to listen to.
The movie lacked the vocal bloviating gigantic massive ego
"HOW MANY PEOPLES HAVE DREAMED OF MY END???? YOU ARE NO CLOSER THAN THE BABYLONIANS WITH THEIR SWORDS AND FIRES STICKS!!!!" *MAGNIFICENT EVIL LAUGH* Yeah, these shoes are just too big Oscar Issacs. PROFESSOR: ""THE HUMAN RACE DOES NOT NEED YOUR HELP!""
APOCALYPSE: ""HMM........SINCE WHEN HAS MANKIND EVER KNOWN WHAT IT NEEDS....""
THIS PIECE OF WISDOM BELONGS IN A TIME CAPSULE
Lmao the whole point to apoc was his corrupted invalid wisdom.
@@BEATSofDevil The thing is; most of the things he says are accurate.
It's not that he's wrong. He twists and perverts wisdom to justify his Evil.
Yes, it is an indirect reference to the 'illusion of free will' - unconscious mental processes that made our choices and make us think we made them (The field test scene from Robocop 2014 somehow illustrates this). Brains scans shows the impulse to do something is activated before we are conscious of it (so a choice is decided before we are aware of it). If the brain is not engaged correctly, we do what we want (feeling) instead of what we need to do (thinking). Apocalypse was referencing in general, that human history never really made the best decisions.
ruclips.net/video/SvMCLuRIYhw/видео.html
Apocalypse speaks as if he reads Shakespeare and the dictionary...
"Shakespeare and the Dictionary" sounds like the world's best rapper duo.
And thats why the cartoons SHOCKINGLY did better justice to Apocalypse than I think any movie could. He comes in, all power and majesty appearing to be a one dimensional villain. Then he starts fucking waxing poetic, with these amazing lines and discussing philosophy and the deeper meaning of things. It gets buried under the "villainy" but Apocalypse is the most introspective, intelligent, questioning, and philosophical character in the X series that I know of.
Kickboxrr He talks like bible scriptures
Actually he does...
That's because he existed long before such things came about, he may have been their inspiration.
“Look upon me and tremble, as I bring the purity of oblivion to your world” -Apocalypse
One of the Best!!!
Take note, Fox/Disney, if you're planning on bringing Apocalypse to the MCU, THIS is how Apocalypse is supposed to be.
Lol MCU will screw up guaranteed
The real badass thing about these quotes is that he was saying all these while fighting or traveling through time or some other complex shit 🤣🤣
Kicking azz and talking shit. 🤣😂
"the old world passes away. Together, we shall form a new one in fire and blood!"
"I am the rocks of the eternal shore. Crash against me and BE BROKEN!"

The best description of Apocalypse I ever saw was in the Age of Apocalypse comic X-Men Alpha where when he's introduced the narration says: "He has a voice that Thunder would envy, and a presence that would snap the gods to attention had they the courage to approach him. He is Apocalypse!"
This version was the friggin embodiment of that concept of the character.
"Since when has mankind ever know what it needs ... "
so true...
"Three things are necessary for the salvation of man, to know what he ought to believe, to know what he ought to desire, and to know what he ought to do."
3:07
“Hmph, since when has mankind ever known what it needs?”
Damn, he has a point.
"He's out of line, but he has a point."
-Sam (Falcon)
I am not malevolent. I simply am.
Damn. That's cold.
Isn't that kind of contradictory tho?
Cold as in no feelings, just pure existence.

"Always the same, and now all this. No more stones. No more spears. No more slings. No more swords. No more weapons! No more systems! No more! No more superpowers... So much faith in their tools, in their machines. You can fire your arrows from the Tower of Babel, but you can never strike God!"
Sumerian story about king Etana wanting to go to heaven or Lahmu/Mars where the IGIGI/Watchers were stationed.
I felt this was Isaacs one really badass villain line. However, my favorite Apocalypse line is still, "I am as far beyond mutants as they are beyond you!"
yea i think the biggest problem on in the movie was him not shouting enough
"I am as far beyond mutants as they are beyond you." ... I think that one was my favorite quote. ... The amazing part is that it is 100% true.
I can never read that line and NOT hear his voice
"Watch me and tremble, for I bring the purity of oblivion to your world" Gotdamn!!!
I like how he says "o......blivion"
My favourite line, the voice delivery is amazing as well
I love how he says all this stuff while trivially transforming his body, slamming people into ceilings, batting away Wolverine, having lasers and whatnot deflect futilely off him, like none of it is even worth acknowledging. Apocalypse is perhaps one of the few villains in fiction who is truly terrifying, in a way that no rationalizations or plot contrivances could find a way to escape. The dude IS invincible. If he wants you, he WILL get you. The only way they ever "beat" him in the show was by combining efforts of multiple civilizations throughout the universe and merely containing him, at least as far as I recall.
90's Apocalypse had the best lines of any supervillain of all time. Apocalypse was the bad guy who you sort of want to win.
In the mid to late 90s, this guy was considered the most powerful and feared man amongst the x-men
The 90’s Marvel shows really knee how to make villains so great that you can’t help but love them
"I am the rocks of the eternal shore...crash against me and be -broken-!"
In that one line, they captured the very essence of monstrous villainy.
A scary villian is a villian who always tells the truth and backs it up.
Never has a cartoon villain been as untouchable as En Sabah Nur, he was one shotting Xmen left , right and centre while dropping the coldest lines in all of Saturday cartoondom😂😂😂...He da GOAT..🎉🎉

I just love David Kaye talking to himself
It’s like optimus prime and megatron are voice by David Kaye at the same time
"Who is he talking to?"
"Just... just enjoy it".
I was wondering why he sounded so familiar. Yessss...
Sesshomaru
4:21 "I am as far beyond mutants as they are beyond you..."
omg ahhhhhh That was great to hear again after all these years.
He's fucking BAD, yo. The best parts are when some maggot says something to him, and he just grows like 200 feet in response. :D
Yes! It’s like his reaction is saying, “Excuse me! What did you say?!”
Spare me you petty judgments, This sprang from a mind too meager to comprehend my reality.
Now taste the power of Apocalypse.......
Easily top three lines in comic history....
The Apocalypse from the 90's cartoon is BY FAR THE BEST. The others are drawn poorly and look goofy.
+Galactus Or their dialogue/quotes are rat shit compared to that of Apocalypse from X-Men: The Animated Series.
+Galactus Evolution's and Wolverine's Apocalypse actually look pretty good. And don't get me wrong, I LOVE the 90's version of the character, but I feel like's he's seen as the best incarnation because he has the best dialogue, while the other versions BARELY get any screentime. Evolution's Apocalypse was only in the series for a couple of episodes, and Wolverine's 2nd season got canceled (seriously, FUCK you Disney).
+Galactus Do you think you could take Apocalypse in a fight?
Galactus is 1 of the prime forces of this universe along with eternity, infinity and death. Apocalypse is to me as a human is to him on a scale of power.
Galactus I knew that, I just thought I could bait you into giving the X-Men a hand with Apocalypse.
i doubt the live action film will have a voice this good. whoever voiced the 90s cartoon apocalypse was perfection
jeremimi But he needs better scripts.
jeremimi It was John Colicos. Kor from the original Star Trek. Sadly he is gone. John Noble would make a great Apocalypse.
jeremimi Quite agree, the newer animated was close, but it will be hard to find someone to top the 90s version.
jeremimi haha much in the same way as apocalypse is though perhaps time found an oponant it COULD defeat.
jeremimi :( Oscar Issacs is gonna play the role of Apocalypse...I cringe!
"Evil? I am not malevolent I simply am." Best Evil line.
4:37: " I Know More of This World Than You Have Even Dreamed!
-That is Why I Must Destroy It! "
That line still gives me chills every time.
RIP John Colicos.
From the X-Men Animated Series Episode, ' The Cure ', original air date: FEB 20 1993.
The best line ever , more than 20 years down the line still remember
I like how when cable says the world will not stomach your evil forever and apocalypse's response was( evil, i'am not malevolent) he just shows that your not at his level because instead of reusing the word evil he ups it by using malevolent which means; to having or showing a wish to do evil to others. then he says he just simple am. LOVE IT! and remember this was a Saturday morning cartoon show.
"I am as far beyond mutant as they are beyond you..."
best line ever

"Spare me your petty judgements. They spring from a brain to meager to comprehend my reality!"
That’s deep his best quote right before he clapped Magneto and Mystic!!
Apocalypse is the all time greatest mutant!
Mutant? LOL He is as beyond mutants as they are us..!
The 90's cartoon employed a lot of classically trained theater actors to do the voices, and you can ABSOLUTELY tell here.
Exactly. Even James Blendick, who voiced Apocalypse in two episodes, is a Shakespearean-trained actor like the late, great John Colicos.
Apocalypse is the only mutant who can speak in all caps
I love the line at 3:45 hahaha "What I know is, it will not be by you."

Screw "X-Men: Apocalypse" for tarnishing the image of Apocalypse.
it was painful to watch that last scene. I was like WTF apoc kill these pathetic mutants!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The cartoon version was worse.
No, it isn't.
In the cartoon version he ran away like a bitch from the X-Men after his horsemen were defeated. While the movie version kicked Quicksilver, Mystique, Professor X, Beast, and Cyclops.
"You have delayed the inevitable" quotes apocalypse - bascially he cant be killed or destroyed
2:08 - “From the ashes of this world, I will build a better one!” I absolutely loved hearing this line come back in “X-Men: Apocalypse” (2016)
"I am as far beyond mutants as they are beyond you."
"Beast, how many peoples have dreamed of my end? You are no closer than the Babylonians with their swords and fire sticks!" "There exists no freedom from me; there is only freedom through me."
"Everything they built will FALL!"
4:21 - 'I am as far beyond Mutants as they are beyond you' That line always stuck with me for years and to this day. Shakes me to the core. What hope is there if ever having to face off against a being of such power.
"Spare me your petty judgements. They spring from a brain too meager to comprehend my reality. Now taste the power of Apocalypse!"
I love ya Magneto, but he got ya there.
Yeah he got you there. What a statement. Floored by his respose
Spoken like a mad demigod, or an edgy 14 year-old in their goth phase.
I think what I like about animated Apocalypse is the fact that he’s more imposing and intimidating in the cartoon, rather than in the movie. Oscar Isaac just didn’t deliver the all powerful threat the original character imposed.
You forgot the X-Men The Animated Series Episode "Obsession"; When he tells Archangel "Come back to me my prodigal son, and all shall be forgiven" LMFAO
So many good ones too choose from.
If Apocalypse doesn't break into an epic rant in the upcoming movie, I'm getting a refund.
RIP John Colicos, the voice of the 90s X-men's Apocalypse.
"I am as far beyond mutants, as they are beyond you" Apocalypse is the greatest
The Apocalypse from X-men Evolution is such a joke compared to TAS 90's Apocalypse. 90's TAS Apocalypse IS Apocalypse, if only the guy that voiced him were still alive. He would be perfect for the movie. His menacing voice and quotes are phenomenal.
If the show continued, maybe he could've done more.
I love John Colicos's epic hammy version to no end, but Evo's had his own flavor that was also something to see. For most of his screentime, he had this more Egyptian theme made with his origin in mind, and he was this silent and imposing force of nature that could wreck the combined X-Men and Brotherhood team with a gesture, not bothering to make grand speeches to those he considered irrelevant. They really should have kept him like that instead of having him suddenly start looking and acting like the previous show's version.
However, he was overpowered like a God.
"I am the rocks of the Eternal Shore. Crash against me and be broken!"
This might be the best villain quote ever.
Best line - "I know more of this world than you can even dream. That is why I must destroy it. "
3:04
Professor X: "The human race does not need your help"
Apocalypse: "Hrmph. Since when has mankind ever known what it needs?"
Professor X: "Since.......shut up, that's when".
His crisis when he realized he's evil and can never win is priceless. It all finally hits him how futile his life has been.
This is the reason why I love this version of Apocalypse, he is just so awesome. The Evolution did a good job of him as the final villain. But a pity we never got to see what the Wolverine Apolypse was gonna be like when they pulled the plug
Apocalypse legitimately looks depressed at 01:46.. The Sisyphus reference kind of confirms that.
Oscar Issac presume that he can replace ME human. He shall PAY for his hubris! RIGHT NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
"I am the rocks of the eternal shore. Crash against me and be broken!"
God *damn* that's some Shakespearean voice acting right there.
"Since when has mankind ever known what it needs."
