This was a really nice episode. It must've been nice travelling through Arev's home country. You both looked very happy to be there (other than early morning after your evening trying to sleep between a cafe, a gas station, and a car wash 🙂). I'm looking forward to your trip through Iran and the ....Stans.

Thanks Dan! Just like when we started out and discovered Germany from a new perspective it is a great way to explore Armenia. Maybe even better because bike touring is not common there at all. There will be at least two more videos about Armenia though 😅

@@marckelly2895We were there mid-Dec to mid-Jan about 8 years ago. The roads can be pretty rough (not great for road bikes) and watch out for the mini buses. Otherwise, great food, interesting history, wonderful people, scenery and experiences. Heaps to engage with whilst cycling and off the bike.

@@AmazingWorldBikeTour I started my journey in my hometown by going to north, then Tehran and after that going to Yerevan with Bus, everything went well until that checkpoint, after the border police checked my passport and said we can't let you go because you declared it as stolen and yet I had the passport at hand. anyway, my journey could ended there but for some reason, I didn't want to give up just yet, so I stayed the night at the border Mosque and in the morning waited hours to get a bus to the nearest major city Tabriz where I can fix the issue with my pass. I did all that and went back to the border again and the ride is about 3:30 h so when I arrived at the border for the second time it was already midnight. and I needed a rest because I was just too excited I guess? :D so with a torn-out small backpack with my meds and some clothes I left the Iranian police border into Armenia's police checkpoint and where I was in Armenia the ride to Yerevan was 50000dram and this was exactly how I exchanged money the night before. it was all of it and I couldn't give all the money for a ride to yerevan. maybe I should take that chance but instead someone said he takes me to meghri for 3000dram and i thought maybe it's a city near yerevan but i was so wrong and i didn't had internet to checkout this city and the person could speak some russian words, ofc Armenian and a broken English and he kinda robbed me, he had a benz and when he find out i don't have dollars and only dram he got angry and get another 1000dram from me. meghri at night was peaceful and aromatic. but i had to wait there for the night and started my journey again tomorrow. i again didn't give a chance to myself to recover and started walking on the road of meghri to north and come back again to the border, seeing quince and pomegranates at every junction and in every house beside the road. it was a bittersweet moment. i walked a lot but didn't think straight anyway police found me when i was walking alongside the road the asked me some questions and they brought me back to the border so I can find a shelter for myself. at this point i was really in bad shape and I wish I could be more careful with myself. you never have to push yourself to the limit and i kinda wanted that and i got the results alright. an exhausting 5-6 hours into armenia and back.

For sure. But the Lada is surprisingly comfortable on very bumpy roads because of extremely soft suspension 😅
Alao, it is rear wheel drive and dead cheap.
