- New World Update 4.0.4 downtime will begin at 5:00AM PT (1:00PM UTC) on February 7 and last approximately 1.5 hours. Cross World Dungeons are coming and it's pretty existing.

I think this is great for the small number of people who really want to play right now. Maybe it'll help retain players or slow the bleeding. I don't think it'll do much to bring people back on its own though. I'm still waiting to see what their plans are for the rest of the year. If a majority of their effort is going towards console and controller, which I think it is, then I don't think I'll be back anytime soon.
Not necessarily true console has a much wider/larger player base games like new world on console would thrive the most as console games are limited in general mainly single player/ co-op games consoles main 2 games are cod and fifa it may not bring the player base back to how it was but will definitely increase it by a ton
to be fair they are adding controllers because of all the request for it on steam and the old forums since release. I doubt there will be a console release. Unless I missed an announcement :)

Nice. Only a 10 minute penalty. I know now I can rage quit when pugs are running heavy as dps and the dungeon takes like 40 minutes to complete when it should take 10
I think New World has plenty of content, it’s just not for everyone. It has a great amount of dungeons, the mutations mix it up a bit. I like the way you make builds for the most part because it requires open world content, mutations, PVP. Then you can mix and match and have a good build while you’re honing it to be bis. Then doing different builds really change the game up, so multiple DPS, tank/ heals, PVP builds make it fun to keep playing to try new stuff. I don’t like raids in general so I don’t mind not having many. I’m excited for cross world because the thing that pisses me off the most is waiting to fill for expeditions.

They need to shift focus before they lose every last player. They've ignored what retained players who stayed since launch. PvP and the joy of team-based action combat in a MMO! They should polish the combat, its animations and balance their rewards based on ease of use. No reason firestaff should have stronger burst than a musket or a bow as long as it has a larger hitbox and insane dot rate. Clean the animations and their timing. Go full force into designing various PvP game modes and fix the bugs that have been around for over a year. They could have really turned New World into it's own genre. The mechanics, if advanced on, could potentially be the foundation of an esport. Instead, they continue to squander the game's potential with small-minded thinking by trying to fit in with other MMOs.

Pvpers need to realize once and for all that this will never be the game they want it to be. They’ve been asking for it for years and it’s clear it’s not what AGS is heading. You’re only get yourself frustrated expecting the game to be something it’s not and it’s not heading there either

Wouldnt say dying thats just all mmo game in general loss of players and then returning players for updates and expansions people think its dying because of the current players it once had any mmo that has 10k+ players daily is not dying imo

Nobody care about these stupid dungeons. We need open world stuff, pvp, meaningful stuff. Stop adding more items to our already bloated storage
"stupid dungeons" i can say "stupid pvp" cuz pvp changes and nerfs also affect a good majority of pve. and i do both. the game does need a war update and OPR map pack
