I used to be a daily player, but after their announcement, I'll play it until something better comes along, and I'm already going to my backup games. I will NEVER play another game from AGS EVER, I will look at any game that these heads have a hand in if they leave AGS and might not play it because of them. I will be going out of my way to tell people to NOT buy New World ... PC players AND Console players alike.
It's time to Helldiver and Star Wars Acolyte this game.

In other words, a lot of people will simply never be able to shake off their delusion. I think most of them actually know better, they just can't help themselves and keep hoping for a miracle that will never happen. They think that injection of money from milking the console players will somehow magically result in them improving the game quality and that it will magically incentivize them to suddenly release content more often, which it won't.

If NW doesn't care about me as a PC player, I won't care about their game, either.

I doubt they care if console players stays, at this point they just want to re sell the same game and thats it.
I would love to keep making new world content; it really is a fun game when there's things to do.

I was about to pre order "New World" moments ago on Xbox but after watching all the You tube videos covering it's release and currant state. I think I'll hold off on that thought.

To be honest, Once Human has a f. ton of problems. It's just new and that's that. In both games you had to setup camps as part of a quest. The thing is that, in NW those did not cover the majority of the map. lol. + it's choppy, laggy sometimes, for whatever reason the character keeps running towards the left, physics are also a bit f. up. There are a lot of bugs in it. They gonna release it like this. Be prepared for that.
@@moo8698 I disagree, i played the beta 3 for 2 months and never saw any lag or physic issues you are talking about. BUT i can say they have to fix the collision issue with other players, just like NEW WORLD had when it first launched.

July 9 will tell if the tomb stone is securely placed on new world; I've played lots of ours of this new (not gonna mention name) game and I'm playing demo now and it has huge potential, and surprise surprise, devs are actually listening and responding to player base. ... and ... it's free! game is beautiful, full of surprises. just yesterday i accidently found a puzzle game in open world. it's a chessboard and you have to finish the game in 2 moves. but when you do, a huge chess board shows up on the map with various monsters on black side and npc's on your side, and you have to battle the monsters!!! loved it. and there are lots of those random events or puzzles you can find just by exploring the world (it is huge). shooting road signs on the shore was fun too. i think after july release, i won't come back to new world (4463 hours btw) for a while if ever.
Anyone who has played NW since day one knows what the cross platform day 1 launch means. Its the return of duping, shut down trade posts, no player trading. Game breaking bugs, major desync, game breaking weapon exploits and "not as smooth as we had hoped" comments from the devs.

That is just so untrue. Every single new player likes NW. It is a good game. It has a lot to do in it. A LOT. For them it is going to last. They going to experience it in a way that we didn't have. Trust me, they going to be happy with it. Now on PC, the majority of the remaining players were whining little kids that were crying for this and that. They were begging for an easy game. They should release a new expension literally every single week to upkeep the interest of these players because you can just run through anything in a day. And even in this case, you would still cry about where the contant is. The contant is there, the game is too easy. If it would be like a proper mmo, the battle pass would last atleast a month with active playing. The expension would easily last for months. But you needed an easy game, right.. You wanted to reach max level on day one. You wanted to reach max gs on day one. You got it all. A little time based thing was in your way to craft a full bis set on day one and even for that you started to complain.. And you want contant? For real? GTFO.
As I always said, you, the players asked for it and killed the game. Not ags.

I mean what do you expect from a team that took a year to solve problems that were already encountered and solved by early mmo's decades ago. It's like they started from scratch and learned through trial and error, while deliberately ignoring the entire history of the genre.
I've been saying something very similar. Have these guys ever played MMORPGs? They should have looked to earlier published games for what was working and what was not. They didn't have to make the same mistakes from 15 years ago. Although I don't think anyone in the business has bombed in the PR department so grotesquely.

Sad to see the current/future state of the game. It has so much potential. There are still a few things I enjoy for an hour or two a week, but that's all.
I mean ive been looking for an MMORPG like WoW on the console, thats a little different rhan ff14 but i took two days off just to play it so im excited. If they get more players with the console im pretty sure they will resume their updates.
Yea, I dipped out shortly after the new reworked zone. I like the game alright. But every update is broken and they announced long ago they are more focused on monies for a subpar product than they are providing a good product we are willing to pay for. In two years I see broken promises, shyt updates full of flaws, and then they quietly stated console. That was a huge flag that this game was going to be shyt and maybe just maybe console will give them some cash. Unless the white hats get replaced I'll never play another amazon game

AGS basically decided it was better to mislead the current player base knowing they will be mad because they would be mad even if they told them truth that there wasn't going to be much content at all for several month and they are focusing on bringing the game to console for the long term health of the game. The current PC community was never going to take that well even if the ASG was open and transparent about it.
Lets be brutal, anything on pc new worlds is alpha testing for systems they want to impliment into rings mmo. Infact i think this has been happening for a while since one thing i have noticed is they have been more heavy handed in trying to push in wonky game systems even though there server problems have been ignored, only reason i can think why they would ignore server stability is because they have a mandate to push systems even if it impacts server stability because they want to see what effects these systems have on server stability in the first place because they dont care about how the playebase is effected or will complain about it because the data they get is more important for them for a more stable rings launch.
I wouldn't give them any credit for having foretold our reactions. These are the same devs that had a million concurrent players, Asmon and Shroud repping their game and still managed to drive it into the dirt to the point they have to sell it to consoles as a last ditch effort to keep their jobs. They don't get it and never have.

It's the gaslighting that bothers me. If they needed to temporarily cut back on PC updates in order to bring console into the fold, so be it. Just be upfront about it.
The what could have been with this game is the saddest part . Likely a mix of incompetent leadership and lack of development resources. Half assed features, mistakes, and bug all along the way. Wasn't even a lack of content as much as it was a lack of using what you had in an mmo environment. Such a shame.
I've played since beta with no more than a month or so off since launch. Stuck with them thru thick and thin ... until this. Uninstalled.
I love how AGS is banking so hard on New World doing good on console. I hope it does well on console, but still what happens if it doesn't go well 🤷♀️ Just seems like a put all your eggs in one basket situation

To be Fair, the New World Community has Built the current Game from day ONE.
our ideas, inputs and love for the game has actually helped the devs build the Console Release.
I will not be calling it Aeternum, i will always call it New World. supply because i think this sub name is just a name that will go away.
This is similar to previous patches like "New World Season of the Guardian"

Leveling number including trade skills, weapon skills are just a number.. the real mmorpg will come out better content design and creativity to make the game fun and stay attractive for players

Game has been mismanaged from the top down for as long as I have played. It got worse and worse over time somehow with little to no effort to fix things in a timely manner. I left just after s4 started no real point in wasting any time on the game even with the potential it had.

Thy just try to get more funds for developing new LOTR mmorpg. Exactly the same thing happened with Archeage 1 when Archeage 2 is announced, thy just milk players as much as thy can, nothing more.

Switching to Once human. IMHO a way better game. Got 70 hrs in the demo. So good.

Not to mention console ppl aren't stupid. Chances are they already have PC amd know what New World is. Changing the genre from MMO to ARPG just reek desperation from AGS.

Game development and community management are clearly not in your wheelhouse. You have tarnished the global Amazon brand name beyond recognition. Never ever will we even remotely consider buying another AGS title; be it PC / Console or any other platform. This wound is just too deep.
There are too many MMOs releasing in the next few years for me to continue caring about New World as a PC player. I bought ROTAE and I'll get the Aeternum update for free so I'll probably enjoy farming console noobs in PvP until they all get mad and inevitably quit the game or run through the entire story before the end of October and go back to playing Fortnite.

Hi Jay. I thought when we got the horse emoji the devs where spitting in our face. They have been constantly doing it to the player base ever since. With their half assed approach. The plan was always to bring in console players we all knew that. But to ditch the community they created to entice new money well im not surprised really. Its a shame how amazon are handling this. Seems the devs have to play a different game to survive. The best and worst thing that happened to new world was being signed to amazongames. My take from all this. Avoid mega studio branded games these are money pits that do not entertain you and keep you frustrated they also suck your wallet regular to keep up with content. Avoid these games and enjoy gamming again. The dream of an RPG MMO Jay its not going to happen creators of these types of games still haven't worked out how to create steady income without upsetting the communities. One day it may happen but human nature is human nature and greed is apart of that. Some dick thinks gamers are dumb asses and will just keep feeding the machine. The whole industry needs a wake up call. Now days you dont even own the product you buy from them so what the hell we signing up for a contract to keep paying is nothing to behold. My best guess is that the Lumberjack engine is a massive problem. When it came to producing content for this engine, I think the devs might have realized that the whole system was just too problematic to produce PvE content in any kind of timely manner. Perhaps it is so bad, it isn't worth moving forward with the current engine when with their LoTR MMO. So, they've completed enough content for a solo action RPG console launch. They'll try to make whatever money they can from that, and move on. Many people seem to think this is somehow a messaging problem, but really the problem is the same problem they've had from the beginning. AGS tried to bring an modern 3d action RPG MMO to market before their competition but many of the essential components were not ready for release on launch and these undeveloped elements (e.g., RPG story-telling) did not come together as quickly or as easily as anticipated.

This is just a waste of energy. The large majority of console players do not want to grind MMORPG's even if you rename it an ARPG. Putting lipstick on a pig will only serve AGS in burning new bridges. By the end of the year they will be a joke on multiple platforms. The remaining player base was PvE players and they showed their true colors. The kind of reaction these pc PvE players had was embarrassing to themselves. Maybe... just maybe AGS should have made a quality product from day one, and not lied and conned people into buying a poorly done early access game for full price. This game is still early access and the bugs are getting worse. I started a new toon for this season due to the MSQ changing. MSQ bugged and parts of it are still bugged... devs don't care. On to selling this FUBAR to console. Well, devs obviously don't know the video game industry... and they will really get an ear full from the console players. PC players are immeasurable nicer and better at giving feedback than the 10 year old console players will ever be. Good luck to the devs trying these con games with console players. It will be funny to watch.

When developer promises X amount of seasons and Y amount of content and seasons get postponed forever and content is nowhere to be seen, you dont have to play along like it was some "haha upsie". I've played since alpha off and on and I think they made a good choice. At this point the current holdout PC players are irrelevant. Attempting to please an ever shrinking number of PC holdouts is a failed strategy which they tried for the last several years. Instead, they are focused on appealing to the people who left early on and a brand new market, console players. Kudos, smart play. Any of the current crop of long term holdouts who are disappointed should stfu, you got your money's worth and at this point, you aren't going to be the reason new world survives or not. Sorry your ego is hurt, your loyalty will not be rewarded, get over it.

Well, it is true that we, PC players got a bit entitled over the years because we got spoiled by the gaming industry. But if the content released in the past 2 years is AGS trying...I can't imagine them slacking off.
