To me, Edwards death always felt stupid, you could say "well he was in his 40's and he was rusty" To that i call bullcrap, my grandpa is 60 and he's still picking up cars, there is no way edward lost his skills THAT fast. They should redo his explanation on how he died
He was 42 when he was killed, I mean sure he was not in his 20's like in game but he was very skilled and strong assasin, being able to fight dozens of enemies in same time, there is no way that he only managed to kill 1 intruder before being stabbed by the second and killed, those man would need to be more skilled than he was ( he would have much more experience than them ) and at least half of his age to really have a chance to defeat him and even then it edward would likely take out many of them, his family was in the house and he would fight like madman ( like when mary died and he fought those soldiers with aggresion )
i blame the rough conditions he lived in all his life and all the rum made the old age that much worse because ezio was killing mfs in his older age but i would say he took better care of himself, head cannon anyways only way i can think of it to happen

Actually if you checkout Noa’s ancestry results in the first chapter (the modern day protagonist) you can see he has Native American ancestry. He even confirms it out loud. So Noa must be related to Edward through Connor, via one of Connor’s three children.
