Black Flag was the most tragic AC for me. Something about building a attachment to these characters, Edward's friends, slowly losing them one by one until Edward realizes what he had was worth more than any weight of gold
Torres: you wear your convictions well, they suit you. Haytham: youve shown great conviction, strength, courage; all noble qualities. Like grandfather, like grandson.
Torres death struck a cord in me. I liked that he didn't declare the victory of the templars inevitable. He didn't spit and cuss, rant and rave at the hour of his death. He instead congratulated Edward on finding his heading. Saying that Edward wears his convictions well says a lot of the man minutes from death.
Well, it became an “Assassin” game near the end. The Pirates Philosophy became the Assassin’s Philosophy. Edward had to develop into an assassin. Before that, he and Roberts were wild cards. The Newer games feel as if they hardly have anything to do with Assassins or Templars, and their simple ideological differences. The storytelling, consequently got weaker because the premise was forgotten.
The first impression of Edward that made me love him immediately was “shut your fucking gob before I fill it with shot you hear me?” Made me die laughing 😂😂😂
He probably wasn't a pirate long enough for scurvy to set in. & also, he was a privateer before he turned against the crown, which meant that he knew better than most pirates out there about keeping his teeth healthy.
I mean those are fair assumptions but the truth is simpler, I think. It'd be fucking gross to play as someone with teeth and hygiene accurate to the time period
I get the impression Edward was born to be an assassin and the world around him kept telling him it is was his destiny to join the Assassin’s Creed and the life of a pirate was not his true destiny. In all of the Assassin’s Creed games Edward is probably the one character in the entire trilogy that has suffered the most lost and has suffered the most in general.
@@on_rns It's not actually the years in this case, but the intensity. Edward lost MORE people & got his beliefs far more shaken in those 7 than Ezio had been in 25. hell, Ezio got to die of old age, yet Edward got killed by someone he called a friend, & even lost his son to his enemy AFTER he died.

@@Xthis1s4youX You mean the 2nd biggest sea IN the Atlantic ocean?
@@odrysiann indeed, went to check it and apparently it's up for debate. Some even consider the gulf of Mexico part of the ocean, others consider Cuba as its border, just like the Bay of Biscay.
But apparently you and assassin's Creed use the former, since Rogue's map includes islands in the north Atlantic, and if you are defining official borders then the North Atlantic wouldn't have islands
TL;DR: went to check, you are correct since your argument aligns with AC logic
You know Edward grew to be a great man when even his enemies show respect to him after they’ve lost to him
I went into this, fully intending to watch no more than the first minute, and I ended up watching the whole thing. I had forgotten how much I love this game.
@@Wolf_Dominic it definitely holds up still.
@@wren8253 No doubt.
Same dude
Man I dont know what edward was talking bout "riches and reputition", by that point in the game I spent all my money on suits and weapons.I was broke as hell.😂
RIP Mary Read, your death made me depressed for a while
6:32 You could practically FEEL the rage in Edward's voice.
he really sounded like Haytham in that moment, or more so you could see where Haytham got some of his mannerisms and expressions of anger
@@pathfindertheseries That is true. Haytham felt similar in that regard
I remember doing a mission in syndicate where they mentioned Edward and that his son sold all the stuff to the templars a d we had to find some old assasin thing under his house
Haytham didn't sell it. Haytham was a Templar. He handed those artifacts to the order he led.
missing edward unleashing the harpoon, the peak of masculinity
Damn right
Edward is really a beast!!!🐯🐯
the best ac to date
7:15 to this day one of the funniest interactions in the whole game 😂
Also I just realized that they're on the ship 🤦♂️
When the assassin’s creed series was great...
Blue hair girl: *Attends therapy*

😂🤣🤣
Torres death struck a cord in me. I liked that he didn't declare the victory of the templars inevitable. He didn't spit and cuss, rant and rave at the hour of his death.
He instead congratulated Edward on finding his heading. Saying that Edward wears his convictions well says a lot of the man minutes from death.
Some say Stede Bonnet is looking for his sugar to this very day.
It is Matt Ryan who brings Edward Kenway to life by his voice..!💙
Learning James' true nature threw me for the biggest loop of my 13 year old life
Honestly this video should be the entire game
Ik
long time ago: assassin's creed
6 years ago: pirate's creed
now: viking's…wait wtf
It's good because it isn't boring but they could make good RPG without assassins creed-name in.
@@shadestrider1033 assassin’s creed is turning into a History book. Because yeah obviously everybody knows Vikings are stealthy and silent.. :/
@@voodoo1viper341 Another victim of the Viking stereotype. They used stealth when it was useful and nessesary.Search it up.
@@Estupido123 ye but no where near assassin type of sealth
Fun fact: His german voice actor is the same as Nathan Fillion's.
Why would Nathan Fillion voice him in German?
Um what the fuck are you talking about? What does Nathan Fillion have to do with anything?
Torres:”you wear your convictions well... they suit you”
*laughs looking at the sky*
*sees assassin and laughs*
“Was it good for you as well?”
1:30 the guy who says he's English has a Welsh accent
“You wear your convictions well, they suit you” underrated line tbh
1:06 if that guy had one bullet in that, Haytham and Connor would be non-existent
1:56 All right can we agree this is the most badass moments because of the instrumental pause?
"edward, can you prove you deserve this ancient artifact more than anyone else?"
"no, and i dont care. i want my money."
The first impression of Edward that made me love him immediately was “shut your fucking gob before I fill it with shot you hear me?” Made me die laughing 😂😂😂
I remember playing this. I laughed watching Edward and vane yelling at each on the boat from a far away camera view
my jaws went down in this moment, i knew she was acting like a boy all along but i never imagined she will be attractive like that 10:18
Amen. Like, goddamn
That's how reverse traps work
It's his face beforehand that cracks me up every time 😂
Attractive?
Little late but the way she used blood for lipstick was metal as fuck
Edward is what makes this one of my favourite games of all time.
why does no one talk about how edward a pirate in the early 1700s have near perfect teeth
He drinks a lotta rum though
I love the risk Ubisoft took with Black Flag. It's quite a dramatic turn in direction compared to the previous entries before this. And it paid off.
I swear this games makes me go through emotional rollercoaster. And still is when I replayed it even if I've forgotten most of it
I get the impression Edward was born to be an assassin and the world around him kept telling him it is was his destiny to join the Assassin’s Creed and the life of a pirate was not his true destiny. In all of the Assassin’s Creed games Edward is probably the one character in the entire trilogy that has suffered the most lost and has suffered the most in general.
What about ezio bruh
Ezio suffers in 3 games when when Edward Suffers a LOT more in just one.
Sir Crimson Wolf Edward suffers in a span of 7 years. Ezio had more than 25 years of suffering.
And you just gave me another point. Ezio suffers many times in Three DIFFERENT GAMES
June 2020 and I’m still playing this amazing masterpiece
the last AC protagonist i can remember liking. everyone since has been stale to the touch
Kassandra and shay, bayek Frye twins and aya are the only new gen ac protagonists I like, arno and laya, not so much.
Haven't played unity and above, but Shay was good wasn't he?
I personally liked Bayek as well, for the most part.
One thing I loved about Edward was he never offered peace in death like Ezio or Connor. He wanted them stressed to the very end lol.
Seeing Bonnet leaving and then being in Edward's vision of his lost friends makes me worried for him!
Yes, sadly he died a miserable death.
Probably you already know... But Bonnet died during the game and it goes unnoticed, he was captured by the British (if I'm not mistaken) and hanged
Matt Ryan did a brilliant job
Very true
6:01 BEST moment ever. Lol
The most powerful kneecaps in the world
6:00 aughh u shot me feel my wraith and feel my spartan kick
7:40 What Edward would do to Haytham if he were alive to find out he became a Templar
Michael Jarrett LMAO yes 😂
Both Edward and Haytham saved people and fought for the right thing to do. I think Edward would be very proud of his son
@@loucar1067 But Haytham forces Templar beliefs on Connor. Which Connor said to him (Its not right to force allegiance whether the british crown or templar cross) before Connor breaks the allegiance with both Haytham and Washington.
yeah that's what I heat about templers the want to force to fallow orders
No. Edward always taught Haytham to follow his own path. See things in different ways.
Haytham decided to stay as a Templar, because he believed he was on the right path. I think Edward would be proud because Haytham thought in his own way.
Thank you Matt Ryan. For Your amazing performance as Edward Kenway and John Constantine.
6:05 get shot and kicks him off 😂😂
The moment with his daughter is my fav.
13:00 - 13:26 is the best quote of Edward Kenway
The moment we all loved Edward and realized he would be an assassin 😎
I knew which one it would be before I clicked
A pirate has cleaner teeth than a dentist.
How come they made him look more young and suave in the cgi trailers, but in gameplay looks nothing like them - kind of lax
Shawn Youtt trailers were abstergo propaganda
Trailers are cgi and not raw game footages
abstergo aka ubisoft
Graphics, scar and blonde hair
This is the only game besides either RDR that’s made me care really deeply for the characters, like way beyond any other games I’ve played
All these years and I just realised Edward kenway is Jax Teller from SOA
This mans kneecaps were so powerful, they sent men flying off cliffs and off ships lol
I feel bad for kenway 9:17 -9:28
Why?
@@archington1851 Because he seen all his friends die/go insane
Same. He watched his friends either die, go insane, change allegiances. Not to mention his greed. But eventually he gets a change of heart and begins to set things right.
The part in the end when he remembers all his friends is the saddest part for me.
yes
