If the remake does well we could see another game set there. We also just never get any pirate games at this level, so I do think it’s a very unique opportunity for Ubisoft since they’ve already botched being first to market for a an open world Samurai title. Pirate life is a very very underutilized setting for triple A single player titles.
It's quite sad how Haytham goes from wanting to offer forgiveness to the mugger, to ending up becoming the Grand Master of the Templar Order. However, the fact he was able to rescue his sister after so many years later. Edward really didn't deserve to die like that, but I'm glad Haytham and Jennifer got revenge on Birch. Edward just keeps losing throughout his life huh
He’s had his ups and downs like any life worth living. I know it might seem odd but some people would rather die by the sword than die old or diseased or in an accident. I think in Kenways pirate heart the see always called out to him like any sailor and any soldier. To die by the sword is an honor to any raider. He had quite the full life. I know 40’s is still quite young, idk about the average age range for that time period, but his life was worth 2 different lifetimes. One of the few true pirates who were there since the beginning to survive. Maybe even the only one. Anne Bonny’s fate in real life is unknown after the death of Calico Jack and Mary Reid. She might’ve died staying a pirate as she said she didn’t have it in her heart to be an Assassin.
Honestly his whole life was quite bad. During black flag he suffered a lot of loss and was betrayed and put down after the game. Pretty shit all through
@@BuryTheLight-tds Yeah but not only that. Altair was raised as soldier from age 10 during dark and brutal 3rd crusade and he didn't even know his parents, his father was beheaded in Egypt and his mother died soon after his birth. The only "parent" he had was Al Mualim who will execute him if he compromises the creed. After he maried Maria he went to Cyprus where he watched many of his brothers die. He returned to Masyaf with PTSD not only to find out that his younger son Sef and Malik were executed but also that Abbas is mentor now. What's even worse is that his son died beliving Altair ordered his execusion because that's what the killer told him. After Maria was killed right in front of him, he was banished from his only home which was Masyaf. When he returned and was a mentor again, he had to send his older son away and then he locked him self up in a valut. He died alone in cold and empty Masyaf that will soon be invated by Mongols and all that he has build will be destroyed. Actually I can see them doing what they did in ac3 more you play as Edward at the beginning living out his final years as the tutorial . Than after beating the muggers, the scene transitions to Haytham listening to the fight and you play as Haytham and sneak as you arrive to the door the cutscene plays like in the story. @@TrontatoIt could even use part of the name of Haytham’s fake experience that appears briefly at the beginning of Unity. “The Lone Eagle”. I was also thinking the same thing before I saw your comment.
I mean his entire life is tragic. Dude is dissatisfied living on the family farm growing up, gets married to a rich girl with an asshole father goes to become a privateer and barely makes any money ends up becoming a pirate rather than returning home to his wife. He ignores her and barely sends letters for 10 years and all the positive relationships he builds with people during those years eventually die off. He finally gets rich though only to find out his wife had died a couple years prior and only because his daughter he had no idea about was sent to him in the West Indies. Then the rest of his life happens as told here in the video. The guy’s entire life is tragedy and loss and a lot of it is because of him and his bad decision making. He then dies knowing he failed to protect his kids and the templars are likely to do horrible things to them. That same daughter is sold into slavery until her brother rescues her years later. I can only imagine what Edward would think if he knew what Haythen became too, fighting against what Edward stood for above all else, freedom.
same sort of applies to haythem. lost his father and was practically an orphan, raised without his sister who is alive somewhere suffering. then having to kill a person who raised him all while discovering he was the very one behind all his tragedies. and at the end, killed by his own son.
He had a good heart it was just buried under his greed. By the time he realized his wrongdoings it was already too late to fix what he did. He does try and redeem himself by helping those that are left as well as the Assassins and does what right by not letting the observatory fall into the wrong hands.
