    I do feel sorry for Edward. At this tjme, he finally sees all that he did wrong. When he finally helped the Assassins achieve their goal along with his, he finds out his wife died while he was gone and now has a daughter. He retires from the Creed and decides to care for his family only to have a son and a grandson who will sworn eachother enemies. All he wanted was to have a happier future for him and his family.

      To add to the tragedy of it all, his greed grew from his inability to provide for his wife, who abandoned her wealthy background to marry his poor ass, to put it bluntly. He just wanted the good life for them, even though she was happy with what they had, and after leaving behind the person he wanted that fortune for in the first place, he had everything he ever wanted but nobody left to share it with. Even though, when it all began, none if it was meant for himself.

He finds himself alone in the end but instead of giving up he rises again and joins a cause worth fighting for because he is tired of not making a difference.

    Ezio wasn't formally inducted as an Assassin until very late in the game either, in the clocktower in Venice along with all the people you met throughout the game.
    It is seriously stupid that people complain about not technically being an assassin for the majority of the game.
    Nothing is true, Everything is permitted.

      There are huge differences. Ezio had a proper training with Mario, Edward can use the hidden blades and climb shit without any sort of training, he just knows, which in plot terms is just stupid. Ezio is actually killing templars during the game while Edward only fights them if he has too (in fact the assassin missions are optional). And in the end Ezio actually BECAME an Assassin, while Edward just decided to collaborate. I admit it's interesting because it gives a chance for development in a sequel but it's still a downside for the game

But when you select Edward's outfit it just says "This was the outfit worn by the Assassin Edward Kenway". Meaning Edward probably didn't spend long enough time with the Brotherhood to become a Master before retiring to start his family.

    Altair was born into the creed
    And was destined to stop the corruption
    Ezio joined the creed to get revenge but it later seemed like he was chosen or destined to join
    Connor joined the creed because he wanted to help his people and help the assassins stopped the templars from changing the depth of war and get the answers to why his people were killed
    Edward joined the creed because he finally learned that what he was doing was wrong , he was selfish and greedy and now he wants to make things right
    Arno confuses the hell out of me but the moral of the story is that if assassins and templars worked together, they Can make the world better
    Shay joined the creed but later turned heel because he believe the assassins were up to no good but honestly he is just blinded by the truth
    Syndicate needs no comment

      FmA Troopah Do you even know why Shay went against Achilles' guild? Those precusor sites that contained the artifacts are meant to hold the world together, hence why when Shay picked up one of em a city fell along with many lives lost. Imagine if Shay allowed Achilles to keep trying to take the artifacts from the precusor sites. It might have ended the world.

    • @fmatroopah9674
      @fmatroopah9674 8 лет назад +103

      ProjectUnite shay went against Achilles because of what happened when shay grabbed the artifact
      He believed that Achilles were gonna do that to all the artifacts if they were to grab it
      But Achilles nor shay knew what was going to happen when they grab the precursors
      They thought it was like the apple , that it was going to do no harm
      Achilles probably never meant for the earthquake to happen because he didn't know it would happen
      Shay kinda over reacted and believe this is what the assassins want so he is blind and he ended up killing his own brothers

    • @fmatroopah9674
      @fmatroopah9674 8 лет назад +22

      ProjectUnite he could've told Achilles to stop the pursuit of the precursors as it will cause havoc on the locations where it resides
      Instead he goes bat shiit crazy and winds up stealing the book and running away
      He also could've thrown the book in the ocean
      Where did he think he would go with the book because before he was shot
      He was still an assassin

    • @Squatimus
      @Squatimus 8 лет назад +69

      FmA Troopah What Shay is angry about is that the last time Achilles sent someone to retrieve a piece from that list (Haiti) it also resulted in cataclysmic destruction, but Achilles just kept sending more assassins to retrieve items from that list without bothering to mention assassins messing with these items likely caused the destruction of Haiti.
      If Shay had been told what happened at Haiti he could have acted more appropriately, but as it stands he had no reason to suspect that following his grandmaster's orders would result in cataclysmic destruction.
      It's not until the end of the game that Achilles realizes that blindly tampering with technology you don't understand (in order to get the upper hand in the templar-assassin arms race) might be a bad idea.

      Honestly, I gotta say that Edward's skill was more learned than natural. Sure, maybe he picks things up quickly, but he DID have a lot of training. It wasn't specifically Assassin training, but he was working on ships as a privateer long before he ever became the captain of the Jackdaw. Since engine-powered ships weren't a thing yet, he had to learn to climb ropes and mast to work the sails, and to keep his balance on the deck of a ship under cannon fire. And he did this for a few years before he was imprisoned on that Spanish ship with Adé.

    Edward character is one of the best development in the Ac series. Also, reading the Ac4 book, Edward wanted to be rich because his wife gave up her riches for him. Also, he's hardly a womaniser at all, compared to what you see in the trailers, the only woman Edward been with is only been with is Caroline and his second wife Tessa.

There's some girls and one or two are assassins. You can directly interact with the regular women, but you have to beat the assassins in a race to get them to sleep with you.
      There's no sex scene or dialogue with any women, which is a shame, but you get a fade to black and then you're teleported back to the bedroom, where the girl will lie in bed looking like Edward gave her the time of her life.

  • @Killzoneguy117
    @Killzoneguy117 6 лет назад +13

    People often say that Edward exemplifies glory, and the search for glory. But I think Edward exemplifies redemption. This is a man who for years was a selfish killer, who stole and murdered and plundered and raided for his own personal enjoyment and gain. He was, for all intents and purposes, a bad man. A criminal who only cared for himself and no one else.
    And as he watched all those he had grown to call friends either die, betray or abandon him, he grew to understand what kind of man he had become. He grew to regret the course he had walked, how he had thrown away his family for this fool's errand. He doesn't join the Assassins to settle a score or to seek revenge. He joins the Assassins because he wants to be part of something bigger than himself. He wants to atone for his past misdeeds, instead of hurting others or causing grave harm to befall them for his own gain, he wants to protect others by bringing justice and retribution down on those who prey on the weak. He is a man who wants redemption, who wants to atone. And that honestly makes him one of my favorite characters ever.
    And this is what makes the last chapter so awesome. We see Edward broken, brought to absolute rock bottom, a man who has lost his purpose in life, who no longer has the will to live, wracked by guilt for his failures, drowning himself in the bottle. And then, we see him obtaining his redemption by joining the Assassins, and in the process finding new purpose in life. Finding a new direction, a new conviction that drives him forward. When Edward hunts down Rogers, Torres and Roberts, its no longer as a bandit, or a pirate looking for spoils. It is as a man motivated by belief. A man whose iron will is now matched with his conviction in his cause. So that even the might of the great Bartholomew Roberts can't stop him.

    • @drondasgupta9378

      True (or not lmao), and it's meant to be. According to Ezio, "To say that nothing is true is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization."
      The foundations of society are things like religion, government, community etc. However, all these things can turn on each other if blown out of proportion or followed blindly. So we must make our own decisions.
      And the same applies to this belief itself. I find that pretty philosophical and poetic.

    My guess is that there was a sequence where Ah Tabai was teaching Edward how to use the rope dart. This wouldn't translate in smooth gameplay however, as the jungle floor that Edward travels later in the memory provides excellent in-game tutorial for rope-dart usage.
    That, or the devs just didn't feel like the pacing was right by implementing that tutorial.

    For becoming an official Assassin..you'll have to take place in a ceremony..Like Altair,Ezio and Arno.

    This title is wrong. He never truly became an assassin. In a journal entry in Syndicate, he said if he could have join them he would have. He wasn't happy not joining them when he had the chance.

      ***** "Fully-fledged" is also a idiom (general saying) derived from the literal meaning of a bird having fully-developed adult feathers. The idiom means "fully matured" or "of full rank/status". The original comment is entirely correct.

    By the talked with James kidd (known as Mary later), i thought Edward was like self taught assassin, because he told James that find this ability from his youth and used it see different things from others (eagle vision) ... And later on with the progress of the game, his life rather similar to ezio.... Ezio driven by revenge yet Edward driven by desire.. although ezio was like a carefree man and forced by condition to avenged his family's injustice, still he got his uncle for guidance, different with Edward who tend to choose "greater" freedom leading him become a pirate, both ezio and Edward has a lost and lost in life, yet in time can built somewhat resolution to reach a greater purpose of life.... Damn... I lesson in our soul in gaming ... That's why I love them, AC3 of course I like, while the other I have not played it, in wealthier time perhaps or even in another life

      No he wasn't. He only got initiated into the Order at the end. Remember that whole ceremony thing on the tower? That's for entry level Assassins.

    How surprising is that the length of the video showing Edward joining the assassins as well as the Templars is exactly 13 minutes 24 secs long.

    Black flag had the most solid gameplay of all ac games
    It also had an awesome story,and the only thing ruining the whole game for me was having to get the uncharted to reach 100% sync
