19:02 Jin hitting the high notes without hesitation shows how dedicated a singer he is. In my opinion, the only way to be able to do it live flawlessly is to practice multiple times. Jin’s live vocals are always very stable really show how hardworking and talented he is. 💜
My favorite vocalist or rapper changes song to song. Jin started training vocally at 19, which is sort of older. But he is now known as the Silver Voice. I love it when he belts out his lines, he is a vocalist who would do well with ballads and anthems, IMHO.

When I see that you’ve posted a reaction, I get excited because I love seeing you understand with each new song, how good BTS is. They write songs about planets, lonely whales, Jung’s map of the soul…not just songs about women and money or love songs. You’re right when you say that you never know what you’re going to get with them. They’re just the best.
Reflects the way the music industry rejects them because they don't fit the definitions of specific music genres.
Told they weren't real rappers nor singers - like Pluto being stripped of it's identity. it's why the rappers sound a bit angry in their parts. With this song, they pledge to stay in orbit around the music and to remain part of the music galaxy because they can't fight the gravity of what they love most.
OMG Yes! I love your take on this song. I always thought it would have a deeper meaning and your interpretation on it just makes sense to me. The fact that Bts wrote and sings a song about Pluto surprised me but with a much deeper meaning does not but it's what I love about them. Thankyou 💜 borahae 😁

You will never be bored with BTS. In all my years of listening to music I have never seen a band who can span the entire width of the musical spectrum. It's unbelievable really. I am not sure if you heard but Jin is releasing a song on Friday called The Astronaut which he wrote with and is collaborating with Coldplay on. It would be cool if you listened to his single called Moon from the Map of the Soul 7 album and also the other Coldplay collaboration My Universe before the release of the new song. Just a suggestion. thanks
Never a dull moment with our guys, and, they're always full of surprises. I'm so happy that you enjoyed this song. I love it because it's just so unexpected. And Jimin. He's my bias. As we all say, he's not of this world. You will find as you go on that each member will draw you in with something that's just so different. It happens to everyone. Love that you did the lyrics, studio, then the live version. Us Army will watch short or long videos. The more we get to spread the love of BTS, the better 💜

It's funny when you talked about BTS putting out music and the risks that a label might not be willing to take in that matter.
Jin went fishing with a producer from another group and in a matter of hours made a song called 'SUPER TUNA' based solely around their conversation and Jin's love of fishing.
When BTS was doing their concert in LA in 2021 - Jin and a couple of their background dancers went to a pet shop, bought some dog toy plushies and headed to the beach to film the video for the song.
The song was a hit and started a viral dance craze on tictoc. You can find the video on RUclips (it's crazy fun).
But this is what BTS does. They make music they like and put it out there and leave it to the fans to decide if they like it to. They don't pay anybody to push their music on the public which is why the industry doesn't like working with them.
Their music is organic, their growth is organic and their fans are genuine lovers of their music - not people who have been told by the media what they are should like.

about bts, they have always had artistic freedom to write, compose, produce and sing about whatever subject they wanted to. they basically write songs to make their audience think and question life and society as a whole. 'big hit' their small company wanted uniqueness. a team with 7 different minds and 7 different vocal abilities is what makes the different musical styles we hear. one of the greatest feats in the world of entertainment is the bts independence. through their blood, sweat and tears bts turned 'big hit', a small struggling company into the corporation known today as ''hybe'', which is now the largest multimedia entertainment company in korea with a subsidiary in america. there was no label or company restricting or dictating their creativity. in ten years they have over 350+ songs and have 20 albums plus solo works which is completely rare in the music industry.

I wasn’t sure you were enjoying BTS and wondered about your motivations to learn about BTS. It was nice to see you find something you liked. Most importantly, glad that you continued despite not getting hooked immediately.
This is my fave bts song. Hands down. I love Namjoon's "us is the plural of u". Also his wordplay...so amazing. Yoongi's rap is also so brilliant. The way he implies that when he runs into his ex, she's with someone new and his heart still hurts over it. Hoseok's when he says no even remembers the numbers. Just everything. The lyrics are so intricit. I absolutely love Jimin's voice. The whole vocal line tie the song together brilliantly.
I love when he goes, like he's not controlling the vid yells "STOP...doesn't hit space bar...says again, wait, stop, finally hit space bar, I gotta go back...love this dude💜😁
Great reaction! I love this song. It’s just so groovy! (Now there’s a word from the past! 😂) You are 100% right - BTS is unpredictable. Their strength is in their b-sides…the further you dig into their discography the more wondrous little gems of musical perfection you find…like this one.

I flew from Atlanta to Vegas to see BTS this past April. It was an amazing trip and the show was incredible! My husband does not understand my love of kpop, but he accepts it! He got to stay at the casino while me and my best friend went to the concert. To get tickets, I had to be a member of the official BTS Army fan club and enter for a chance to be in a raffle for a chance to get tickets. It's is a stressful process! Then once approved and verified by Ticketmaster, I waited for 30 minutes on the app before it was my turn to buy tickets . . .but so worth it!!

@@chestnutmountainboys there were so many other Army on the plane from ATL flying to Vegas - all ages from many other parts of the country and world. Both airports were full of Army with their BTS merch on. They only did 4 shows in Vegas and of course a sold in minutes. As soon as concert was announced, I booked my flight and hotel before I got tickets, before the prices skyrocketed. Planning for a BTS concert is intense!
@@hortbeck have you ever tried getting your husband to watch some reaction videos? Especially from male reactors, like this channel? A lot of guys might be put-off by the misconception that only women like BTS, so when they watch male reactors it shows them there are a lot of guys who like BTS too and then they might be more inclined to explore BTS lol. You can pick reactions to songs that you think your husband might like, based on what you know about his musical preference. Maybe channels that incline more towards BTS's rap/hiphop work like Anthony Ray would to be to your husband's liking? Other good male reactors are like JohnReavesLive, Roscoe, WhatchaGot2Say, DT Parker, Kito Abashi, Getsideways. More recent channels like Colombian Cousins and Wives, JustDunk Reacts are really good too. There's a lot of male BTS reactors actually, more than female reactors I think. You can also get him to watch Taylor's guide to BTS members video and see what he thinks, it might surprise him. I've let a lot of my male friends listen to BTS without telling them who it is, I just pick songs that fit their musical preference. And it's worked 99% of the time to get them hooked into BTS lol. Their rap work usually surprises a lot of people.
@@janetuss6496 I watch all those reactors and I have tried many times but he's just not into any kind of pop or hip hop or rap, etc. Just not his thing and I don't force it. He accepts that I love it and I accept that he loves his old country music.
@@hortbeck ah I see. Yeah, there's not really any country BTS songs haha, I guess that's one genre they don't do. The closest thing would be songs with more guitar, like Sweet Night or Winter Bear by V, but those are more ballads. Oh well, the important thing is that you guys are both accepting of each other, that's great! 😊

They wrote a song about Pluto LOL. They also wrote a song about an actual real whale. Whalien52 will always be a favorite of mine. So very sad in a way.

One reactor put it as starting with Wings especially they are just all art/concept albums where they throw out all the rules and tell stories and make music so original and unexpected and fun it’s just a wild ride. Love Yourself:Tear is many peoples favorite or top 3 favorite albums it’s so intense and musically unique. The whole triptych of albums (Love Yourself: Her - finding new love and the intense feelings of fresh love, Love Yourself:Tear - losing love and the pain of the masks we wear and the dark side of love, and the penultimate wrap up Love Yourself:Answer - the answer is to love yourself before you try and love others) is also in conjunction with the UNICEF campaign to end childhood violence with BTS. NASA has included this song in songs going out to space on missions and the guys have several space themed songs included. I was so obsessed with this song after I first heard it because it was so unique.

Loved your reaction, and totally agree - creative freedom is very important. This is one of my favorite songs of theirs, not only bc I love jazz. The metaphors and the choices in the arrangement show you they are willing to take risks to hone their artistry. It's the same reason why their album Wings is still on of their best to date. It's got seven solo songs in it (not counting the intro), and every song is so vastly different, reflecting the members as individuals. Highly recommend you check them out.

Map of the soul era was based on Carl jung, specifically the book jungs map of the soul written by Murray stein.
It uses three concepts; persona, shadow and ego. And each song is based on interpretations of these topics but based on BTS's own career.
Both the albums were so good that, Murray stein himself, wrote 3 books for the army that explains the concept of the persona, shadow and ego using the songs bts wrote.
A lot of jungians started listening to bts after that. A lot of therapists also use BTS's music.
The wings album is also worth checking out.

BTS wrote the album BE during Covid as their world tour had been cancelled. It actually tells a whole story when you listen to it in order. Every track is amazing so you could do an album review but for interesting single tracks try FLY TO MY ROOM which has a really distinct beat or TELEPATHY which is just a song to try and help us be positive and keep communicating, in any format. 💜

P.S. it really is time for you to watch an introduction video for the group. Most of your puzzlement will be answered. The reason they can do this experimentation and not factory made songs is because they started in a tiny company which nearly went bankrupt. They had artistic freedom from the very beginning which set them apart. 9 years later Hybe (previously Big Hit) is a massive corporation which they helped to built. It dwarves previously Big Three music companies of South Korea and still makes great music. They are really picky with their artists and allow them to be very different from each other. I really like two new girl bands they introduced recently: Le Sserafim and New Jeans. Really clean, fresh sound and lovely b-sides.
Yes. BTS will always choose what represent them the most regardless of popular opinion. They are true artists who just wants to share their music to the world.

When it comes to BTS, for most of us there is no favorite. It just becomes one of my favorites because there are too many not to love. Their music is so diverse that before you know it, you have a playlist for everything.😄 134340 is another one of my favorites. I really loved how they were able to portray the sentiment with the flute. I felt the flute was like Pluto talking to me about how it feels about being dumped and neglected. Glad that you liked it too.

If I remember correctly, they had a scheduled concert in Atlanta for 2020, but of course it was cancelled because of COVID. Next world tour will probably be 2026.
Jimin sings most of the high notes, but Jin @ 19:45 also sings a lot of high notes and adlibs or background vocals. Based on Jimin’s own comments, Jin can actually sing higher notes than him. Jin’s my favorite when it comes to vocal style, but unfortunately he often has the least lines.
This Friday though he has a single coming out titled THE ASTRONAUT (theme that goes well with this song 🙂). The song is co-written by Coldplay’s Chris Martin. I’m really hoping it has more of a rock style and… I’m looking forward to your reaction to it.
Lastly, I mentioned previously Jin also wrote a song for his pets called TONIGHT which someday I hope you get to it.

Rapping with flutes... they think outside the box!!
BTS LOVE to be incongruous imo. Those lyrics by themselves are like a heartwrenching journal entry but the music and vibe make me groove.
It’s heard to explain to nonARMY how BTS are comforting and healing but imagine if one is going through heartache and identify with the song but just listening to it makes them feel happy and understood instead of more sorrowful.
They do that with many of their songs. A heavy topic but the music is just different. To the point of changing one’s mood.
The CEO of the label long ago had an interview where he said (summary) that he doesn’t restrict the music they make as long as it meets quality threshold. He has high standards of music production quality and when you see his name BangPD in the credits it tends to be one of their ‘hit’ or iconic songs.
He worked in another kpop label and broke out to make his own label. Early in he interviewed that he believed idols were true artists and got sort of laughed at. Basically kpop idols are sort of like Disney pop stars. Not taken seriously until they break out. But BangPD takes them seriously off the jump. Much of their training predebut was artist development and BangPD has tons of my respect bc he can see the potential in an artist.
In an audition with Jungkook BangPD WAITED 20 minutes for Jungkook to sing bc he was just so shy about it. Imagine any label head waiting for a singer bc they are shy. Who would gamble on that? For a very public position, taking in a young guy that was too shy to sing?
You should definitely check out "Lie" "Serendipity" and "Filter". These are solo songs by JIMIN

You’re right about the bossa nova feel this has. It feels like a blend of 70s and modern styles in the best way. I honestly believe this song is genius, both lyrically and in the production. My favourite feature is that flute hovering on the periphery, trying to get your attention, but also the way the sound goes in and out in sections, giving the impression of the orbiting body going in and out of view. The production is the reason this is probably their only song where I prefer the studio version.

Yeah BTS isn't afraid of experimenting one member of BTS like jazz (V) other like EDM, Hipop, and rock etc and they have songs of all the genres because BTS write and produce (mainly Suga produce the songs with other producers) fun fact: Suga actually join the company as a producer but then he kind of got scammed (his words lol) scammed because he was told BTS was going to be a all hiphop only rappers group but then the concept changed and they add singers and it eventually became a kpop group and then he found out he have to dance. Because of this, he threatened to leave multiple times but now he is okay with it. Suga and RM actually wrote songs for other artist like halsey and RM collab with imagine dragons for a more rock song but anyway what I admire about BTS is they have some very deep songs like the song "am i wrong" where they kind of dissed the former president at that time (the president was impeached) but there was a leak recording of the impeached president called korean citizens "pigs and dogs" and so bts made fun of them and for their dance they were crawling on the floor like "pigs and dogs" and they had another song "spring day" that have hidden meanings and symbol of the sewol tragedy that killed many highschoolers and the same government tried to cover it and some of the lyrics is symbol have double meanings because the president at that time was blacklisting anyone that publicly spoke about it but BTS made the song anyway even if there was a risk of being blacklisted. Alot of BTS lyrics have double menaings that sometimes inevitable the meanings can get lost in translation but the rappers of BTS mainly write the songs and RM have an IQ of 148. (that is a fact. 148 IQ is considered a genius and he made news in south korea scoring in the top 1.8% of the whole south korean population for the university entrance test so his parents were shocked he pursue arts but alot of the lyrics he write have alot of meanings. The more you know about BTS history the more you understand why they are so popular suga once said paraphrase* you should look at BTS without any bias and prejudice. Just listen to their songs and craft without the prejudice of their identity and then go judge them. (One reason I also like about them sorry this is oversharing but all of BTS went to university and got their bachelor degree. And 5 members are working on their MBA master degrees which motivate me that if BTS despite their schedule is working on their degrees even as celebrities. What excuse do I have. Better late than never

ARMY fandom is global, most of us would be willing to fly anywhere to see them. Tickets sell out in minutes. Understanding that we can't all get tickets, they do live broadcasts of the concerts in real time. The last concert just 2 weeks ago, 50 million ARMYs kinda broke the live broadcast platforms, 3 of them as a matter of fact 😬
