This is the first time I've ever listened to or watched, "Proof Live", by BTS. This is my reaction and review.

It's hard to miss Jimin's distinct unique voice and his charms. For Youth always gets me in my heart especially at JK's key change section. They have a way of stealing our hearts every time.💜

Jimin has one of a kind, unique angelic voice, who can also sing most gorgeous high notes that most female singers would struggle to sing.
His beautiful vocals with unique colors & tones has given special signature to many BTS songs, it has given extraordinary feelings, emotions & many professional musicians & critics praises him for giving unique colors & elevating BTS songs to something more special! 💜💜💜
Jimin has a naturally higher toned voice.. but he’s got a unique style I think that is always shocking to ppl lol all the vocalists really can hit high notes with little effort .
I truly think in my opinion is that watching the MMA in order by year is the best way. You'll be able to see their growth.

Who else agree that 'For Youth' is so 'feel emotional' that it can even be played as a 'wedding song'.
They always speak with ARMY during concerts, sometimes funny, sometimes informative, always heartfelt and sincere 💜
RM is fluent in English, the rest of them are taking lessons and have definitely improved over the years. The PROOF album is a good guide (as Suga pointed out). The 1st disc contains Born Singer followed by all of their title tracks ending with Yet To Come. The 2nd disc has one group song RUN BTS and the rest are b-sides selected by the members themselves (one solo & one unit song each). The 3rd disc contains 2 unreleased tracks, demo recordings and For Youth which you heard here. I would like to point out though, that this album is just a small sample of their music. Whichever route you take is totally up to you though, there is no wrong answer. They have a huge catalog of music both as a group and individually, and it just keeps growing. Appreciate your open mind & love of music in general! 💜

This is one of my favorite performances. That voice! It’s Jimin. I like them all, but he is my favorite. He is very smart and funny.

thank you for having an open mind and discovering different music. also, thanks for responding and paying attention to their conversation. this video was filmed outside las vegas, nevada. it was filmed while they were here for their 4 day concert this past april. start with the 2018 mma first to see how they perform at an 'award show then watch 2019. to review the album 'proof' now would be kind of like reading the last chapter in a book first. continue with what you are doing in your discovery process of bts, you can always go back in time and see their works. i purple you.
Only RM speaks fluent English but the others are learning/improving all the time. They understand more than they can speak!
When you start getting into concerts and award shows, there are going to be lots of songs you have not heard. These may not have subtitles and won't necessarily be the same version as the album track either. My tip would be to review the set list and make sure you have listened to all the tracks that are included in the live performance first. And don't change how you are reacting, it is a great format, lyrics/mv/live.
And before the award shows I also think you should do the 'Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7' by Taylor. Now you are starting to understand them a bit more, this will give you a few facts about BTS and a little bit of the history of each member. 💜
This set makes me cry with happiness, thinking how far they've come and how hard they've worked. They truly beat the odds and everything that was up against them. True David and Goliath story. You put them together and give them the ability to create what THEY want and it's this magic that happens. I'm so proud of them. Their backstory is so amazing. There's honestly nothing like them, ever. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Thank you, I am enjoying your channel. Hearing them speak adds something doesn't it? For me, when they speak, it solidifies what I already feel about them from their music. Their music: lyrics, melodic & harmonic choices, dance, & diligence is one way to experience them, but their character & authenticity shines through even more when they speak in addition to performing. Speaking to ARMY, or any listener directly, really creates or deepens the connection, IMO. I am drawn in & mesmerized by their performances certainly, but I feel connected to them now because of their personalities, their perseverance, & their love for each other & ARMY. I'm 53 & a little over one year into learning about BTS, but I've never felt so "connected" to any musicians before, even though I've had a deep love & appreciation for many types of music throughout my entire life. It is fascinating to me. 💜

Honestly, the Proof Album truly is the perfect guidebook for anyone interested in getting to know BTS. Relying 100% on YT viewer recommendations will result in the same handful of songs that every reactor ends up watching. Inevitably that reactor stumbles upon a song (that's probably on Proof) and says "Why didn't anyone tell me about THIS???"

I would suggest you not watch the 2019 mma performance until you’ve watched all of the songs they’ll perform in it. There won’t be subtitles so you won’t understand what it’s about. It is such a big production and an amazing set, I want you to be able to really appreciate it. The main song is “Dionysus,” but they do a few others like “Boy in Love,” Persona,” and “Boys with Fun,” (?? I think). The 2018 mma has “Fake Love,” Airplane, pt. 2,” and “Idol.” I believe you’ve reacted to at least one of those. The 2018 show has many Korean cultural elements in the songs that are very cool.

Ainsley must be tired from working today 😉Since you're loving Jimin's voice, here are a few to consider watching: Lie, Serendipity, Promise, Filter. Just don't look directly into his eyes. He makes everyone love him. It doesn't matter how you identify, he's just gonna get ya. In fact, some of the funniest videos to watch are the ones that show straight males just dying over him while their wife/girlfriend is in shock or laughing at them, lol. One of them is titled "Jimin snatching men left & right". No one can resist Jimin. It's literally called "The Jimin Effect". Once you Jimin you can't Jimout. Loved this video! 💜💜💜

I HIGHLY recommend “BTS Tiny Desk Concert”! They also sing with a LIVE BAND and I think you’ll really enjoy it! 🙌🏼

I do like making recommendations, and I think a lot of us base them in what we think people will enjoy most! But there's no one right way. 💜
The fact that they followed up the smash hit Dynamite with a korean alternative hip hop track (Life Goes On) and an overall moody and introspective album (BE) instead of riding the wave of success and releasing another poppy, upbeat English song like so many expected really deserves a lot of respect. They defy expectations and do what they want. They prioritize truth and art over money and fame every time. 💜
I definitely recommend checking out PROOF; however, Disc 3 isn’t available online, other than the song For Youth. That disc they chose to keep for ARMYs only so it’s only available on a physical CD. But the PROOF compact version is like $20 and available in Target, on Amazon, etc. so it’s very accessible to most people 😉
According to several vocal coaches, rather than moving to falsetto, they use a head voice for their high register work, which lets them transition smoothly from chest to head. Jimin is the most skilled with that, he almost never uses falsetto at all, whereas some of the other guys do sometimes. But that's why it sounds so smooth anyhow. It takes a lot of muscular control.

@@chestnutmountainboys I saw a video about a year ago by one of the vocal coaches, who discussed in more detail and showed how to do it. But unfortunately I don't remember who the person was. But you may be able to search and find. It's a technique, even if you're not skilled in the beginning, you get a sense of how it works.
I searched "how to sing with head voice male" and saw some interesting stuff.
I’d suggest start with earlier MAMA( Mnet Asian Music Awards) and MMA performances and work up to 2019 MMA(Melon Music Awards)🙂. The doggie was thirsty. 😀. This was filmed somewhere in CA I believe.

Thank you …. IMHO this just doesn’t get played by reactors often enough… it encapsulates why I love BTS… their musical talents, their constant self reflection, their joy in their music, their love for ARMY and their humility in the face of enormous fame.
Those smooth vocal transitions and their connected head voices are why people often think they're a lot more autotuned then they are, especially JK. He sounds impossibly smooth. But it's real - he does impromptu live karaoke concerts on live singing into a cheap mic and still sounds amazing.
They've all worked so hard to find and develop their specific voices. Jimin has the naturally high register, front resonance, and all the textures. Jin brings a huge, flexible range and a lot of power - he's their belter. V is a natural baritone - those high notes are really something for him! - who sings with throaty resonance and in his lower range a husky tone. And Jungkook's vocal versatility is genuinely unmatched. He excels at pop styling but he also does most of their ad libs and harmonies, and the man can blend his voice to harmonize with anyone and make it look easy. He makes everything look easy.
On a live recently, Jungkook was singing a song with a high note, and he hit it hard and fell out of his chair. It was like a puppy that barks and falls over 😂
Because they trained to develop their individual voices and not to try to sound alike, they have very different colors and are all excellent solo as well - and vocal coaches (and voice nerds like me) get really excited by them. 😁
From watching your journey from the beginning, it is so fabulous to see you actually look like your really enjoying how spectacular BTS are. I think Jimin's voice is the one you like the most. You should check his solo songs. 😊
I suggest starting the Rise of Bangtan series by Aneesa which you can find on youtube and listening to the songs that correspond with the episodes of it. The series documents the group from their pre debut days through their whole journey. I think there are 21 episodes in total and it is very well done and tells a comprehensive story of their growth as a group and as people.

@@chestnutmountainboys i really hope you at least watch the first episode (please record yourself so we can watch you react), and if you end up liking the episode, we would love to see you continue with it. It takes you ALLLLLL the way back to BTS at the very beginning and shows how they made it to where they are now. You would gain so much information about not just BTS but a little bit about kpop in general. 💕💕
they all are able to speak English, I can't speak to their current fluency but they have all improved greatly!

As for MMA (Melon Music Awards) 2018/2019, they are both spectacular, but I suppose starting with 2018 would be sensible. They are truly next level performances. Don't be confused with the MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) performances. Those are also good, because .... it's BTS ha! But the MMA's are the ones that are epic. Hope you enjoy them! I tear up every time I watch this, and every time I hear “For Youth.” And after the 2022 Festa Dinner and the recent military enlistment announcement, this hits me even harder.
I look at “Yet to Come” and “For Youth” as BTS’s promise and love letter to Army. They knew they’d be taking a break for a while, with military obligations among other reasons, and they wanted to reassure Army this isn’t the end. It’s their promise to Army, and asking Army to trust them and wait for them.
Having said all that, (please excuse me while I get sentimental), absolutely loved your reaction. All of your reactions are genuine, honest and heartfelt. I appreciate that so much. Thank you for taking us on your journey into discovering the amazing talents and human beings BTS is.
Definitely check out the Proof album. I don’t know if it’s on Spotify, but the third CD, which has their unreleased demo tracks, isn’t available on Apple music. Or I didn’t see it. But I have the physical album and all three CD’s are awesome. The album helped my baby Army husband understand BTS’s music, which “era” he likes more, and such.

Loved your reaction as usual. I’m glad you saw this these young men are just awesome and I believe this was taped when they were having their concerts in Las Vegas. I enjoyed your reaction and watched your face and I could tell how much you were enjoying it! This was near Las Vegas. They performed this in between the weekends of their 4 day PTD tour in Vegas which I’ve attended 3 of the 4 😅 knowing that it may be their last tour together. They announced shortly after that they are not taking a break but focusing on their solo projects. Don’t believe all the media you watch or listen as you may know already that it can be misleading. Thanks for having an open mind and the love for music. Enjoy 💜
Considering you're watching the Proof Live, you're not really going in any particular order so, at this point, just enjoy it all as it comes! I would suggest you take a closer look at the Born Singer lyrics... it's such a powerful song, full of their "come up" story and an emotional song both for them and ARMYs.
It's a great choice, you can follow 'Proof' tracklist in order. If you want essential of them, check official MV of that songs.
I would highly recommend, should you have a paid RUclips account. The Documentary Series BTS: BURN THE STAGE. It is a behind the scenes look at one of their tours with interviews, hardships, and a great look at the group dynamics. As it is on paid RUclips, you will have to watch on your own but it is an amazing look into the boys' life on that tour. You truly get to see the sacrifices and the hard work that goes into being BTS.

I think you should watch the 2016 Busan Festival. They were cut from the broadcast. But decided to perform after the festival was over anyway. Most of the audience stayed to watch them. Confetti was still on the stage from the ending act. I want you to see their energy knowing they traveled all that way and were completely cut. The main lights were shut off for their performance.

I love the first expression you had when "for youth" starts. The eyebrows went up. Best reaction vid by far. No fireworks as predicted though. As per usual, can never predict BTS.
Yeh, I'm not sure you'll ever see fireworks out of me. Maybe we should fire off some bottle rockets in the house or something. That could be fun.
Born singer was unofficially released as song with self written lyrics on the composition of born sinner by j Cole a month after their debut. In 2013 it was only uploaded to SoundCloud and RUclips. They released an official version on their anthology album
You can follow the tracklist on PROOF album, and follow what others would suggest. As long as it's BTS i'd watch it. And the discography of BTS is huge. 300+ songs i cluding solo mixtapes, unreleased songs, covers, etc. 🫶🏻
The artists, who have literally shown majority part of their lives as in their artistry process, perspective towards life, challenges, offscreen content since the times they all were literally teenagers, these 10 years r ofcourse nostalgic but hearing them call us 'bestfriends for life' really gives us so much joy. Armys have seen every bit of their journey, rooted for them, whether it's their first award, first time entry in billboard charts,AMAs, or even losing Grammys ...we have cried, laughed nd survived with them so, thats the reason BTS can never ever be overrated 💜

Oh thank you it is my fav live show case performance from them ! Why ? Because of the BTS context, they are number 1 because of what they ve accomplished, they will come back stronger and more mature as a band in 2025 and they know Army will be there and all along their growth. They trust us as we trust them.
Also for this live the sound was so clear. You can hear so well the band, the backing singers and BTS amazing voices. No tech issues, perfect sound mic. The quality of everything felt like they were in a studio recording a live album ! I know screams of Army are missing but from a viewer/listener point of view in this case i can really appreciate their vocals and talent. The sound engineer did a perfect job ! And the recording was superb. Which is not always the case in some of their live shows or online concert.
Also the set location, the sky colour was matching the BTS' outfits, everything was gorgeous.
Considering the MMAs shows and the fact that you are first a listener and that u can be overwhelmed by visuals, yes mma 2018 could be better first. It is bit shorter and the overwhelming visuals are here but last less longer 😉 afterwards when you will watch both you will understand what i meant.

I’ve watched all of your BTS reactions and I’ve really enjoyed your journey. I appreciate you diving into the lyrics because that’s what separates BTS from others. I think that you would enjoy going through the first two CD’s. For the first CD, there are MVs for each (except for Born Singer) but there is a mashup of their live performances that is fantastic. All the MMA performances are spectacular but like others said, there are no subtitles so it helps when you know the songs are about so that you can see how each year’s performances were put together. And if you are interested, their albums are thematic, so various sets of albums represent different themes. They are so remarkable that way. Whatever path you choose, you really can’t go wrong. Thank you so much for your thoughtful and honest reactions!
I feel like I need to go through their lyrics. One, I'm not good with lyrics...especially on the fly. Two, my brain is a little slow. If I can grasp the idea/lyrics of the song before the music plays, I feel better equipped.
Congratulations on 2K+ subcribers! If you enjoyed this performance with the band, you should watch their Tiny Desk performance soon. As far as the award show (MMA/MAMA) performances go I would start at 2016 and move forward to see the progression with each passing year. Keep in mind for 2020 it was at the height of the pandemic so there is no physical audience only remote, but stellar nonetheless. Honestly, I think at this point it would benefit you more to watch a guide. You mentioned enjoying hearing them speak and provide answers. With a guide you get detailed information on each member, their origins, and how they came to join BTS. Taylor Nakamoto has the most up to into 2022. Rice Squad has one as well, but Taylor's is much more detailed. Seeing where they came from, their struggles and sheer drive to succeed is going to give a whole new perspective on your journey and make it much more enjoyable.

Yet to Come is a promise to ARMY - the past was the best, but the best is yet to come. They were promising us that they will be a group again once they all finish their military service. RM said later that he said everything they wanted ARMY to know [and believe] in Yet to Come. There are other live performances that they did of both Yet to Come and For Youth for Korean music shows that are just beautiful performances as well. Those would probably get blocked, but it would be worth looking for them on RUclips and watching on your own. I think they just get better each time they perform them.
I agree it would be good for you to watch a guide or two - Taylor’s guide is terrific. XCeleste also has one about their hardships that would give you some background into what they’ve gone through as a group from a small company and as Asians in western music markets.
I’m not one who thinks you have to know all of the songs to watch MMA 2019 (I didn’t), but it also wouldn’t hurt to watch them first. The same honestly would also go for MMA 2018 and 2020, though.
And finally - I recognized Respect, but I saw it too late. It was nice to get one right, though. 😂

Even people who don't know who Anderson Paak is noticed that his drumming was on another level. He is so talented! He shined brightly without overpowering the performance.
Oh! Also: the background singers are from the same Los Angeles based choir that recorded "ON" - I think one of them was on that recording too.
They have all come so far with their English! When they first debuted, RM was the only one who could speak it well. There are numerous funny videos compilations of RM getting so frustrated with them trying to speak English in interviews in the beginning! Soooooo funny.

Also, both MMA 2018 and MMA 2019 are both good so it doesn't really matter which one you watch first but it'll be pretty cool to watch 2018 first so you can experience how much they've grown ( in performance) in just a year! But you can also watch MMA 2016 as well and start from there
The live performance of For Youth is pretty good..
I've been following your journey with BTS, and maybe listening Proof album would be ok, but I think that you will enjoy a lot some songs of the first EP's and the albums Dark and wild and The most beautiful moment in life parts 1 and 2. I guess that eventually you will hear everything. For live's performances, I think that you will enjoy more the concert that they just made in Busan, but you must watch too some of the legendary performances like MAMA'S 2019.

It is actually a nice idea to take Proof as a guide for reactions. Also first cd is title tracks and after listening to song you can watch one of their award show performances for that song MMA or MAMA or another (army will tell which one)
I think you might get a kick out of carpool karaoke with James Corden, they sing in the car obviously and there's no production at all so you really get to hear them, plus there's chatting all the chatting with James so you get to see how really funny they are. Could be a copyright issue but I've seen other reactors do it so I'm sure there's a way 💜

Actually, a lot of the songs that you have heard are on the Proof album. The cool thing about getting Proof is that it also includes never before released demo versions of some of their most notable songs which I really like hearing 💜💜💜

BTS probably think Proof album is a guide for beginners who are not communicating with other ARMYs like reactors. You can react to the entire Proof album but I preferred the recommendations of other ARMYs because we have been with you in this journey and it'd be best for us to see you listen/watch/react to the next song/live that we feel like wanting you to react to after hearing your comments/opinions from the previous song/video you have heard/watched.
