    Wow Rob that watch really came alive when you zoomed in on it real close. That is when I got your appreciation for the watch.

    Longines has some beautiful dials. Their heritage and Master series are some of my favorites. I would love to own one someday.

    Hi Rob. Love the channel. I normally don’t do this, but feel like I need to speak up. Upon your advice, and other RUclipsrs, I reached out to Nick. I bought a VERY expensive watch from him. No problems at initial sale. However, I’ve been trying to get an additional strap for this watch for 3 months. Getting him to return calls, texts or emails is VERY difficult. I’ve been disappointed with the service after sale. I normally don’t like to call folks out, but it seems like unless you’re a RUclipsr with a wide audience reach, you’re not going to get the same service as guys like you get. Just my two cents…

      These watch guys only care about the heavy hitters. You are nothing compared to them. Sad reality, and those who promote this stupid nonsense should as well be called out.

    Man that can hold it's own with pretty much anything under $10,000 as far as I am concerned.

    It's weird how a brand with the history and prestige of Longines ends up being so underrated... when prestige and history are considered to be generally very important. Great looking watch (I'm not really a chronograph person either but it looks so appealing).

      Marketing basically. When Swatch took over a load of Swiss brands they decided Omega were going to be their "rolex" and the rest followed behind(Omega had the moonwatch and more recognisable names like Seamaster). In chronographs Longines were _the_ chronograph brand for most of the 20th century(and the aviation watch for the first half of it). They produced the first wristwatch chrono movement, the first flyback and did so 'inhouse'. The vast majority of other brands bought in movements and added their name to them. Rolex have only built their own chrono this century. It had been thought that Breitling introduced the first two button chronograph in the mid 1930's until a Longines showed up that had that in 1928 and it was a flyback(meaning you don't have to stop the counter running when you reset it).

    The vaunted Valjoux 7750. Wobbly, noisy, easily serviced. Stone axe reliability. McLove it!

    Great looking timepiece to add to your collection. The black/blue colorway is incredible and the movement certainly deserves a clear case back! Enjoy it Rob and thanks for sharing.

    Congratulations Rob that's a gorgeous dial, It would be awesome if longines made a titanium bracelet for it.

    The Big Eye is definitely on my shopping list as love the chrono complication, case size almost ideal and the dial in the blue/blue is superb. Not worried about the waterproof specs, I have several proper divers if I want to get wet. Great video btw.

    We hear this concern a lot, but 30 metres water resistance is perfectly fine for the vast majority of situations, unless you're going snorkling or the like. Think about the pressure at 30 metres, that's nearly 100 feet in old money deep. Even if it was only half that at 50 feet, I don't think washing the dishes or showering or even going for a swim in a pool is going to cause any issues.

    Cool watch. My Dad wore a Longines. Ti helps weight on big watches. Love the dial. I like Ti too but currently don't have one. I also prefer a none screw down crown on automatics for winding.
    Looks distinctive and beautiful on your big wrist. I think for chronos and a bit more money I would have to go the Black Bay chrono but that sure is a nice time piece.

    That's the best looking watch I've seen in a couple years. You were definitely right to overrule your principles against chronographs and blue watches! As Aristotle said, expert level decision-making in practical matters (aka wisdom) cannot be explained in rules.

    Wow really cool piece! I picked up a Legend Diver Bronze recently for a similar price but now I'm thinking I should've gone for a Big Eye. Don't wear the LLD enough but this thing I would wear all the time.

    • @sopapillas6398
      @sopapillas6398 2 года назад

      And the LLD are not Chronometer, which is a bit of a bummer for the price they ask considering they offer lower priced COSC certifications.

    I'll never understand why someone would want a light watch vs. a heavy watch. If I pay this kind of money for a watch, I want to know it's there.
