My father-in-law use to drink his coffee from a small shallow dessert bowl. I’m so thankful God allowed me to see that. It helped me to understand the gospel song Michael Combs wrote and sings, “Drinking From my Saucer (cause my cup is full)” A Christian will understand what it means. Enjoyed your video today as always. ❤️🥓☕️

My grandma's would pour their coffee into saucers and sip it. Sometimes they would tear open a biscuit and put it in the saucer and eat it, they called it "soaky". Great memories!

Yes my grandma had cups with saucers and she poured her coffee into the saucer to cool it off faster and she drank it from the saucer. I think it was an old way. Her coffee pot percolated on the the gas stovetop, it was a beat up looking metal pot that had a glass bulb on the lid where you could see it perk up in the glass top and see how strong it was getting. She drank hers with cream and sugar.

Talking about hot coffee reminded me of my grandparents. They had a dairy farm in Siloam Springs, AR. My sister and I would spend the summer there. I loved it I remember my grandma making a hot pot of coffee it was boiling and she would take it down into her root cellar where the workers on the farm would go for breaks. She would pour each of them a hot boiling cup of coffee. They would slurp that coffee in slowly and swallow then would open their mouths and say Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh like they were cooling their mouths! I can remember sitting on the steps and watch them thinking of all the different slurping sounds. Then when we had breakfast I slurped my milk and said Ahhhhhhhhh after drinking my milk. Needless to say, my Dad wasn't too pleased! Oh, what memories!. Grandma also had a shotgun by the backdoor. There was a railroad track nearby and hoboes would come to the house and ask for food. Grandma answered the door with a shotgun in hand, she would make them sit under this certain tree but she always fed them. She said eat and be on your way. They left, I can only remember one time when she had trouble with a guy and she shot that gun in the air to make sure he moved on. I would go out with grandpa and call the pigs...Suuuuueeeeeee! I wished all kids today could stay on a farm to experience and do chores I think they would learn alot.

When we visited them was the only time we got coffee. There was a song about "drinking from my saucer cause my cup has overflowed." This was speaking of all our blessings causing our cup to overflow.

OH! THANK Y’ALL SO VERY MUCH!
I’ve enjoyed this! It reminds me of my PaPa telling his stories at a campfire or “smoke smudge”
(Remember those on hot nights before any electric at the house)Papa got that smudge going and called us all around.
Stories and singing songs and playing guitars. WE knew what a good time was!

Mr. Brown, I remember my grandpa doing the same thing with his coffee and the saucer. He did it to cool his coffee off. Us kids always wanted coffee so we could do that just like grandpa, and I 69 years old. I still remember him doing that and it did make sense. God bless you both. My whole family use to go camping alot and I got to do the cooking for everybody. It was really good food too!! I'd make gravy and biscuits from scratch. NO CANNED BISCUITS EITHER!! Fried potatoes scrambled eggs. Oh my goodness, what memories!! Love y'all

Truck drivers and machinists keep the world going. Machinists are so important, everything, EVERYTHING relates back to them and nothing could be made without them. If they don't make it then they make parts for the machines that do.

The 2020 election is 6 days away, the coronavirus is surging again, and I’m finding a lot of peace spending time watching your videos. Also, getting inspiration to make bread. Bread making
was already on my mind. Cream pies, too! I’ve got my grocery order ready to be delivered tomorrow. I’ve added to it several times. It’s been a blessing to find your channel at this dark time in our collective history as a country. I feel comforted if only for a little time. I’m pushing 70 and I’m blessed to still have both of my parents. They’re still healthy and independent and my mom cooks a full meal almost every day, after combing the grocery ads for the sales they like. Impossible to keep them home, and it really scares me with the virus this year. Stay safe everyone.
