  • Crochet along with me to create your very own Ruby Baby Blanket - a stunning ripple puff stitch pattern by Clare from Cherry Blossom Crochet. This video has been filmed with full permission from Clare - please see 6:35 for more details
This pattern is great for beginners and advanced crocheters alike - don't be put off by the words "baby blanket" I made mine FULL ADULT SIZE 😘
Sadly Clare's blog is no longer online, however, as a temporary measure until Clare decides to reinstate her blog, I have the pattern available on my blog HERE: www.hookedbyrobin.com/blog/20...
    The shades I used:
    Pollare
    Rotterdam
    Wolvega
    Sint Nikkolas
    Mechelen
📌 Yarn amounts used for my adult sized blanket:
I was very generous with my puff stitches and made them super fat meaning I used a little more yarn than needed - I used in total one full ball of the pink, 1.5 balls of the grey shades. I used TWO balls of Pollare including the border.
That being said, if you are economical with your yarn, you might be able to get a full adult size blanket out of just 5 balls of the Colour Crafter.
👶 For a baby blanket size, please check the written pattern as 5 balls will be LOADS.

    🔥 Frequently Asked Questions:
Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on RUclips yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthevideo.com/ and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...
Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyrobin.com/crochet...

Hi Robin! I’m a new subscriber and I just love all of your videos! They’re so easy to follow and your voice is so soothing. Seriously, I could listen to you talk for hours. This is by far my favorite latter so far. It’s so gorgeous. I wanted to make it for a coworker that just had a baby. There is one thing I was confused about though. So I’m assuming that no matter how many chains you end up doing, you’ll always end up with six chains left before you finish off and start the next row, right? My brain does not process numbers at all, and it can get a bit confusing for me, so if someone could clarify that fur me, it would be much appreciated!! Once again, love your channel. Thank you for making awesome content! 😊

I keep meaning to add something to the blog post about my colour sequence! I'll try to explain it if I can! The colours go: one row, then two rows, then one row again (adding in the next colour inbetween) I then complicated it a bit more by fading from dark grey to pink and reverse fading it back out again LOL

    • @frandefleurs5116

Hooked by Robin Well i think it looks fab, I don't want to copy your colours exactly after all your blanket is unique. I'd love to make a different colour version though. I'd probably use pinks 'cos I'm a Pink fan 😉 and then perhaps an acid green as the 'pop' colour maybe 🤷🏼‍♀️ or purple neon ... I've never done a fade before 😎

      Hooked by Robin
hi robin, I can’t find it again so I’m so glad I wrote it down - I found you wrote out the color pattern either in the comments for one of the two videos or your blog. (I’ll copy below in case anyone else was wondering) ......
I was wondering, can you share what color you used for A, B, C, etc?
      ORIGINALLY BY HOOKED BY ROBIN:
“Choose your border colour out of the 5 you have and make that your starting colour (A) and do the first 2 rows (A)
      Then: B x 1
      A x 1
      B x 2
      C x 1
      B x 1
      C x 2
      D x 1
      C x 1
      D x 2
      E x 1
      D x 1
      E x 2
THEN I faded back out again in reverse so
      D x 1
      E x 1
      D x 2
      C x 1
      D x 1
      C x 2
      B x 1
      C x 1
      B x 2
      A x 1
      B x 1
      A x 2
      Then back again
      B x 1
      A x 1
      B x 2
      Etc etc
Then to end, I ended on 2 rows of A so the top and bottom were the same colour as the border
I hope all that makes sense! Basically you want stripes of 1, 2, 1 of each colour for the main body of the blanket”

      D x 1
      C x 2

      C x 1
      B x 2
      A x 1
      B x 1
      A x 2
      Then back again
      B x 1
      A x 1
      B x 2
      Etc etc
Then to end, I ended on 2 rows of A so the top and bottom were the same colour as the border
I hope all that makes sense! Basically you want stripes of 1, 2, 1 of each colour for the main body of the blanket

    Hi Robin,
Started working on this with some Scheepjes yarn but feel like there are a lot of “holes” because of how fine the yarn is- did you find that to happen with your big gray blanket? Or any I doing something wrong? Any advice appreciated

Mine is reasonably holey too - you don't really notice in the overall scheme of things so don't stress! X

Robin, you were unsure of how many chains you did for the full size saying 163 or something like that...so is that 163+13 or is the 13 already included?

I cant put a picture on here...ok so when I have 6 chains left...just prior, i did the upper valley lol i dont know what to call that, and i only could do 3 DC not 4 like I'm supposed to. I have triple checked my chain count and even redid the whole thing and i am following every stitch that you do in the tutorial but still only getting 3 DC at the end if I want to have 6 chains left.

Something that's always irritated me is here in the states we spell "color" not "colour" I've always spelt it "colour". Always felt that was the proper way of spelling it. Just a small pet peeve of mine. Anyway this is a beautiful blanket!

In other parts of the world it is spelt with "u". In the UK for example
