    How come you say 30 degree angel but most of the instructors say 45 degree angel?

    • @ZulaDrivingSchool
      @ZulaDrivingSchool  3 года назад +1

      Excellent question Liza! Because it's easier to recover from a 30 degree angle than a 45 degree one. The method I'm showing here involves 3 steps whereas the other method most commonly taught has 2 steps. I'm in the process of making a very extensive video illustrating in real life why this method is far better for most situations.

    I do it differently in step 2, I backup until the front sidewalk corner of the car behind is in the middle of the triangle window (also check that the front car rear has just entered the front passenger window) then turn steering to the other direction to straighten out, once straight I’m normally dead center of the parking bay.
    Hint 1you can’t always see the sidewalk and you cannot see your tire, focus on what you can see.
    Hint 2 when leaving the parking (if possible) backup until you can see the road “below” the car in front of you then turn the wheel all the way as you drive out of the parking,guaranteed you won’t bump the car in front

    Thanks. This was the best tutorial I ever saw. When I took my roadtest I failed because the examiner had me parallel park behind a car that had its wheels tight to the curb, I had done the maneuver so many times without error, the examiner gave me 3 chances and each time I hit the curb, now I know it was because that cars wheels were tight to the curb, I was too close to the car, and had turned my car to 45 degrees instead of 30 degrees. Doing the test again in a month

  • @rocketrider1405

    This is helpful because he describes turning the steering wheel while the car is moving, even if you're moving slowly, because I hesitate to crank the wheels while stationary. I was taught that 'dry steering' is not good for the steering and suspension settings. Plus, I think I'll try an angle somewhat less than 45 degrees but greater than 30 just to see if that makes the park more accurate (although there are a lot of variables in the real world and even the "simplest case" may have several restrictions. But, you gotta start somewhere right?). Thanks, Zula DS !
