Thanks a lot.. I passed my test today first time with 3 minors ... your videos really did help me . I was nervous and anxious , somehow did it .Practice made me perfect as usual. Many thanks for your videos ... All the best to all new drivers ...
I'm 18 years old and yesterday passed my driving test first time with 2 minors. I've had 6 hours of lessons with a professional instructor but watched countless videos from your channel, I've watched over 100 hours worth of videos around driving techniques and am positive this is what got me to pass. I can't thank you enough. I saved countless money on lessons I would've taken, money which I put towards a new car arriving next month. Good luck to everyone who has booked their test. You can do it! Larry
1-2-1 method is great for a luxury of space but full lock method is better at all times since luxury of space isn't guaranteed at all times. Thank you. Your illustrations 😊 made parallel parking look easy
It was a surprise to hear that parking on the right is rare, as I tend to have to park like this on a daily basis! Thanks for the video, though. Very helpful tips.
Thank you so much for this. I was taught how to parallel park by my instructor but not how to park in a tight space which is a necessity on my street. You've made my life a lot easier.
I had my test recently, and I failed sadly on the parallel park. I practiced with cars where I lined up the wing mirrors for the reference point and parked well most of the time and was confident, but on my test, the car the examiner picked to do the maneuver on was facing the opposite way so from myself so I couldn't line up the mirrors for my 1st reference point. therefore I messed up the reference points and then ended up too close to the curb before straightening up, I then tried to correct it by moving forward but I ended up putting the car back in 1st instead of reverse as I was getting nervous, this made me get too close to the car in front as I moved forward instead of back and the examiner stepped on the brakes and took control of the car essentially. I am so annoyed as I had 0 miners and just this serious fault for a stupid mistake. I feel it wasn't all my fault as the examiner did make an easily messed up maneuver even harder. I hope to pass my test for the 2nd time next month. this video is great.
ALHAMDULILLAH.... Passed my test with 5 minors.... This video really helps me a lot... Though I was not asked to do parallel parking but I have learnt a lot from this video ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Just wanted to say a huge thank you for your channel as the videos have really helped me pass my driving test FIRST TIME on Monday with 3 minors, even though I drive automatic! These videos are beyond useful and helpful, which is always my favourite videos to watch even though I’ve passed 😂 I will sure share this channel with my brother who will be learning to drive soon and more friends and family. Again thank you so much! ☺️
Thanks for this. Unfortunately I was taught using reference points that relied on the expensive reversing camera wired into my instructors car. Not too helpful when I got on the road in my no frills ford fiesta!
I don’t wanna hear no one say women can’t park when she’s prob the best to do it! Good work I’m gonna try do this probably won’t be as smooth as you but I’ll give it a go lol
I've got my first driving test in December and not had any lessons yet (waiting for an instructor to be allocated) I'm also going to be 35 weeks pregnant on my test and I've never felt so nervous about anything but watching your videos makes me feel better and helps with the nerves and gets me feeling more confident about driving so I want to say thank you for your videos you do really make a difference ❤😊
It's very unusual to book your test before even starting lessons! If you don't feel ready when you get to your test date don't be afraid of moving it back until you feel confident you can pass. Good luck!
Your explanation is so calm and clear! I'm learning to drive again after trying previously, and parking is so hard for my brain to understand! Thank you so much for these videos!
First of all I love your hair style, wow! I am learning to drive but i am not on the subjects of any reverse lessons , but i did watch this video which i got a lot of tips and help with, when i start to have lessons regarding reversing I have recommended myself to come back to this video link on how to reverse. Absolutely helpful, amazing hair style and wow! and you allmost look like my cousin sangeeta me uncle mikes youngest daughter... Amazing.
Its funny parralell parking is the thing alot of people fail at. Its also one of the only things that you don't actualy ever have to use unless you live in a majour city. & to top it off most people i've ran into don't even know how to do it. Idk why its even one of the most important things on the test, As its one of the things you don't have to actualy do, in real life.
Well we live in a medium sized town, and we almost always need to parallel park when we drive into town for shopping. Perhaps it just depends where you live!
parking between two cars is different from other vids..normally full lock get 45 degrees angle then wheels straight and move back and one turn the other direction when close to curb.I will try this method
I would love to have a lesson driving on those empty roads, practicing all the manoeuvres without interruption. Where I have my lessons the roads are so busy.
I’ve been watching loads of your videos, they have been such a great resource. I have my test on Wednesday and it’s in bury. So I been learning so much and looking around town. Wish me luck, thank you for these videos there are so helpful.
Got my test next week this is the one of many manoeuvres that regardless of how many times I practice I can't get first time same with bay parking and reverse bay parking had 60 plus hrs of lessons and have 0% mental constitution of passing
I passed my test years ago but did not do parallel parking or reverse bay parking. I find your videos very helpful. But do you not have to indicate when pulling out from behind a parked car
Thanks. If you have a read of The Highway Code, all it says about indicating is that we should do it when it would help other people understand what we are doing. So we should signal if there are others nearby, but it’s fine not to if no one is there. 👍🏼
I’ve been taught the full lock method, but I’ve been seeing a lot of the 1-2-1 method in videos now. I am perfectly comfortable in doing the full lock method as I have got it perfected. Can I use this method in my driving test or is the examiner likely to deem that I am ‘too close’ to the frontal car?
It's years since I passed, if I cannot drive straight in I move to another street, can't remember the last time I parked in my own street, its OK for you a professional, but it's impossible, every new car I pur have, it has to have park assist fitted, so without that,it's a case of park up then walk home ,it's impossible, not easy.
I like this video👌 But I would of liked to of seen you park in a tighter space than you actually did at the end, I didn't feel that was a typical size space in the real parking world. Full lock is really the only option in today's parking.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool Yes I have seen that one thanks, that's still not the average size space, in real life circumstances spaces are normally alot smaller.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool Totally understand that coming from a instructor. Just wish instructors would stop saying those are small spaces, the only people who park in those kind of spaces are instructors, the real everyday person after they have passed have to go into alot smaller spaces. Love your parallel parking tips for the driving test. Are you able to share any practical tips or videos when manoeuvring in tight spaces on uk roads where cars are parked typically on both sides where the 1-2-1 method is not practical ? Thank you
As shown in the video, when parking in ‘real life’ we switch to the ‘full lock’ method. You can also watch us use it in this video: Real-Life Parallel Parking: ruclips.net/video/_TVoIOo-a1Y/видео.html 👍🏼
Is the thinking behind the wing-mirror reference that the back of your car will then be roughly alongside the rear of the parked car? If the parked vehicle was longer than yours (e.g. van, stretch limo) would you need to adjust the reference point further back?
We mention later in the video that if the car is facing the other way we should position our car beside theirs before the first turn. If the other vehicle is longer than ours just ensure our back end is level with theirs before turning. 👍🏼
Is there a reason you wouldn’t do the full lock way during test conditions? As in just behind one car? I did parallel parking for the first time today with just one car in front and my instructor taught me to the full lock it way you used when doing it between two cars. Is it not ok to do it this way during test conditions? Confused as to why there’s two ways when the last one could be done for both types of parking? Or is my instructor wrong to have taught me it this way?
You can do it that way if you like - we just think it’s easier to use all of the available space. Wouldn’t you do the same when parking in a generous gap any other time?

Would you position a smart car in the same place to parallel park? Or would you be back to the other car a bit more because the smart car is shorter?

Please can you tell me the reference point before the final full right lock, I'm not getting it yet. I have been here few times
We steer right just after the kerb disappears from the left door mirror 👍🏼
For right side parallel parking whats the reference point with the car parked
We should try to avoid parallel parking on the right side of the road, as it will be difficult to get out afterwards do to the other parked cars blocking our view of the oncoming traffic. For this reason you will never be asked to park like this on a driving test. However after passing you might need to do this on a one-way street - hopefully your own judgement should allow you to complete the manoeuvre without relying on reference points. We show this in this video: Real-Life Parallel Parking: ruclips.net/video/_TVoIOo-a1Y/видео.html 👍🏼
Hi do you not need to signal for the reverse parallel manover thank you
As always, indicate if there is someone nearby so they know what you intend to do. However if no one is around then there is no need. 👍🏼
How close to the vehicle do you park up to?
We should leave at least a metre in front and behind our car, so that other cars can leave if necessary.
What gear? Are using accelerator and/or brake?
That car is an automatic, so we used Drive and Reverse. In a manual we would be using 1st gear and reverse. This video explains how to manoeuvre slowly: How To Make Parking Easy: ruclips.net/video/D9H_cSzLitQ/видео.html
