It may be my poor driving skills, but I find that that this method doesn't work well for left parallel parking. I'm either too far from the sidewalk or too close to the front car bumper. That being said, I'm so glad I found your videos. Jacqueline explains so well ! it's a huge help for people like me who go back to driving after a long periof of inactivity.
I would say that problem is mainly caused by the fact that usually you want to park on the right side, if you are parking on the left side I would suggest switching directions and driving on the other side of the road, so the left side is now your right side

This is definitely the best parallel parking instruction I have seen on RUclips so far, thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge, I appreciate it
just passed it. It was my fifth attempt. The main thing is that after having aligned your car with the car in front of you you keep reversing until your bumper got past the rear of the car in front of you. After that you're safe going all way to the opposite direction and reversing. Then it's just a matter of correcting the car's alignment inside the parking spot.
I drive a right-hand drive car in Britain (we drive on the left!) so we normally park on the left. But sometimes I have to parallel park on the right side of the road (in a narrow one-way street for example) and after 40 years of driving, I'm hopeless at it! This video is very useful. Even though the car is right-hand drive the mirror set-ups should still be the same for the right hand seat. I will give it a try.

If you allow i tell you easiest steps to remember n perfect parallel parking. NOTE: only match the tail light to tail light regardless of car length 1) turn your steering all the way to the right n go back until your car turn to 45° from front. 2) straighten the steering wheel n go back until your back door handle sit on the curb/ as shown in the video. 3) turn your steering all the way to the left n go back until your car is parallel to the curb. My instructor taught me this n it perfectly parked my car every single time and got full points during test. Good luck 🤠
Maybe the only thing missing in the information is the distance between the two vehicles before the start of the procedure, ie. tail light to tail light distance that works for this style of parking

I know what the side of the car looks like. I have mine set so the side of the car is just _out_ of view. How is that second check supposed to work, really?

a lot of people recommend lining up your side mirrors with the cars next to yours , and depending on the size of your vehicle vs the one you'll be parking behind, advancing or reversing slightly to compensate for size difference
Maybe next time you film this, choose a car that doesn’t have a backup beeper. It’s super annoying! Also include the stiles about which direction to turn your wheel into or away from the curb.

Er. So, it's advisable to ruin your tires and your steering column by dry steering into place? Don't know about that. Could use some anti-steering more sanely.
