This is the first time that I've heard someone explain why bra cup sizes and dressmaking cup sizes are different. I knew that they were different, but I've never thought about why. It seems so obvious now that you've explained it. Thank you, Karina.
I really enjoy your teaching method. I'm a perfectionist so your way of explaining things down to the last detail is what I look for. I enjoy all of your tutorials and will continue to come back for more. Thanks so much!
I enjoyed the tutorial of your Olympia Dress. The beszt part is your clear description on choosing cup sizes. I needed to understand that aspect. Thank you, thank you thank you.
Not only are your videos interesting to watch, I also look at what you are wearing and remember that video! Looking forward to seeing your mom makes. Enjoy your visit with her.
We can definitely add that to our list. In the meantime.. have you checked out this blog post on hemming knits? www.lovenotions.com/five-easy-ways-to-hem-knit-fabrics ~K
Karina, thank you for your full review of the Olympia dress as well as the in-depth tutorial for sewing the neckline. And thank you LN for lovely, stylish patterns and for all of the support and sewing inspiration.
Thank you for this video, it is super helpful! I love your videos because your teaching is so clear and comprehensive. Plus, you are always wearing a beautiful smile! ☺️
Such a pretty dress - simple but elegant with that gorgeous fabric. Thank you so much for the detailed sewing instructions. I have followed along with your other sewalongs and have had success with other patterns. I am now off to purchase another pattern I wasn’t going to buy!!!
A great tutorial as usual Karina . It is lovely to use this tutorial as a reference when making the dress as parts of the bodice is tricky but you explain it very well as per usual .
Love this dress on you… so flattering! Thanks for explaining about the cup sizes. All your tutorials are so helpful. I think I would’ve given up on the neckline if it wasn’t for you!
Thank you. When I made this dress I found the neckline very challenging. This was an awesome tutorial and I'll make another one now thanks to you Karina x
Hi Karina, this was one of the first knit patterns I attempted, and failed miserably on the neckline. I learned, with your tutorials, how to "anchor" those pesky pivot points and this made all the difference. I will make another Olympia for sure as its a very flattering pattern in my opinion. You look lovely in your new dresses today. xx
Thank you, Karina! Very good explanation. You are a brilliant sewer. But: do not even tell us that the “pink” dress have been red!😅😂 It is gorgeous! Still! No pyjamas material. Oh, no!!
I feel confident to tackle this lovely neckline after watching you video, thank you so much for sharing the benefit of your experience and knowledge. 🌹
@@LoveNotions I finally decided to make the dress, have just finished the neckline 🥵 Not so easy, without your tutorial it would have been simply impossible. Obrigadíssima! 🤗
Great step by step directions on the neckline. I like that you place emphasis on marking and matching the dots. I have this pattern from awhile ago but have yet to make one. I like the little tweaks, I’m glad I waited, I think I might get a better fit, having a fuller bust. I too sometimes do a “sneaky seam” when I don’t have enough fabric. 😊. Love both your Olympia dresses but the animal print one especially!
Is there a way of lowering de back of the neckline? I really don't like it to be so high in my neck. I also don't wear scarfs for that exact same reason. It looks like a collar that stands up, or do I see it the wrong way?
I’ve been reading recently that when taking upper bust measurement, it should be taken without wearing a bra. I’m confused by that as my measurement is very different with/without. I’d be very interested in your view on this please
@@deniseblake6214 there’s more discussion to it…. If a person generally has normal or broad shoulders, getting a smaller measurement without a bra might give you a smaller size and tight shoulders….so I’m cautious about the no bra recommendation as it will not work for all.
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles I’ve been sewing for myself for several years and always measured with bra and I’ve not found a generic problem with fitting myself in that area so I’m going to carry on. Just recently on FB I’ve seen discussions re: with/without but not realised it was a ‘thing’. Thanks for your reply

The collar is a shawl style collar and does fit a little higher on the back neckline. I suppose you could hack it if you'd like to lower it. ~K

I think the topic is controversial because the opinions go both ways. My take? I wear my clothes with a bra, so that’s how I take all my measurements.
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles thank you … that’s my opinion too

At the 23:03 mark, I cannot line up my collar piece to fit the bodice back. It's way off. What am I doing wrong?
Hmmm, not sure, let me ask the team if they have insight! ~J
What kind of fabric are you doing? ~J
Is there a pattern link for the top you are wearing?

@@LoveNotions love the houndstooth and turquoise trim on the shirt.
The pattern says $9.50 not $5.00. Is there a code?
The $5 price was only for Friday. This weekend it’s $3 off, that’s 9.50 (reg price 12.5).
