This was a wonderful video. So we’ll done! I feel like I have found the Bob Ross of sewing. I hope you understand that I mean that as a high compliment.
Hehehe! That's funny :-) so glad you enjoyed this video and found it useful! Happy Sewing ~K
I said the exact same thing to my husband while watching this! Before I read your comment
I have been sewing for 50+ years and loved this video. I learned a lot. What I love most, in that tense moment sewing around the "V", your voice is so CALM!!! I needed that!!!
It is literally our go to V neck video! Happy you enjoyed it too! ~K
Thanks for a brilliant video . I've been sewing for years but have avoided v necks on knits until today. I've written all the instructions down after following the video so I've always have them close. I'm really thrilled with the result. Thank you.
That's so great to hear! Glad it was helpful, thanks for watching! ~J
You are an excellent teacher! Thank you. Now I know what I can do better next time.
You are so welcome! ~K
This is such a great video! She explains things so clearly and patiently. A natural born teacher. This is a lifesaver for me. Thank you so much!
So glad! ❤️ ~K
Thanks so much for this tutorial. Love the idea of using a bit of fusible interfacing at the tip of the V for stability, esp. on knits, before the stay stitch.
I've never heard of weaving the pin in to keep it in place, not in my high school sewing classes back in the '70' and not ever since. It's such a great tip!
Your tips for precise alignment are awesome! They seem familiar, but it's been such a long time since I've had access to my sewing machine, my memory is cloudy and my muscle memory for such things long gone. I have so many projects I'm anxious to get to now that I'll have access to my machine again soon. I'm so glad I came across this tutorial before I went headlong into any of those projects. Thanks again!
So glad you found it helpful!! And yay for having your machines again! We wish you much happy sewing! ☺️ ~J
Just the specificity I needed to take the plunge. Thanks so very much for your careful instruction.
Woo hoo! So glad you found it helpful! Good luck and let us know how it goes! ☺️ /~J
These are excellent tips! I'm about to sew my first v-neck and I feel much more confident about doing it now. Thank you!
So glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching! ~J

Everytime i make new tops i look for your video i have saved. A great memory refresher and easy ro understand.
Best tutorial HANDS DOWN.
Great to hear! ~K
I sew for a drycleaner where I live. I messed up a customers t shirt dress and you have just saved my bacon!!!! I know what to do now to fix my mistake. The customer was in and I confessed what I had done and she said she appreciated my honesty and was not angry at me. I hope my boss reacts the same. Thank you again!!!!!
Oh wow. I hope your boss reacts the same. Sending all the best wishes your way. So happy our video can save the day! ~K
@@LoveNotions fixed it boss loves it and thanks again!!!!! from now on we are doing that kind of stuff your way from the get go.
Very clear explanations, thank you so much, I have had so many difficulties before seeing your video

You can do it! 🙂 ~K
Thank you for coaching me through my first v neck!
Great job! So happy we could help! ~K
great trechnique....I made a teen patter for boys in my sewing class from a scrub top so they could practice woven before they try knits...and this is the best method for the neckband I have seen for woven too
Wonderful! Glad you found this tutorial valuable! ~K
Great info. And I have sewn for years. You always keep learning. Thanks!
So glad you found it helpful! Thanks for stopping by! 😊 ~J
thank you so much for taking the time to do this video, it's greatly appreciated
Glad you found it helpful! ~J
Thank you, I've been stuck on a v neck this helps so much!
Yay! So happy this video helped! ~K
Such a clever way to cut the band.
Happy you found it helpful! ~K
What a wonderful lady you are! So easy to listen to. I hope I find more of your tutorials. Thank you for explaining things in a calm way and going over things a couple of times to remind us. Very well done. Xx
You are so welcome! ~K
This is great! I'm very new to sewing and I was trying to make my first garment tonight, a V-neck tee. I was getting so frustrated with the neckband because I couldn't get it right so I decided to search for a v-neck tutorial and I'm so glad I found this video. Now I'm all excited to tackle the neckband tomorrow again!
Thank you for this video. I have spent several hours watching various RUclips videos to figure out how to do this. This was the only one that showed close up what I was missing on the other videos.
One thing that isn’t explicitly stated on this video that I struggled with is them at you make the diagonal cuts on both ends of the rectangular fabric strip… and you are placing them back to back and sewing thru both layers when you are stitching the “V”
The pattern piece has the diagonals - but yes, they are placed back to back and all sewn through at the V :)
Brilliant instructions Thank You. Love your clear calm follow along. 🙏❤️💙💜
So glad you found it helpful! 😊 ~J
Loved your video. I had watched several videos on v necks but yours was the best by far!!!
Wow, thank you! ~K
Love, love, Love Notions! I have the classic tee pattern and I always have trouble with the v neckline. This tutorial was amazing. You’re a natural born teacher! Please do more of the same for us new sewists! Excellent, keep ‘em coming! Marie from the UK
This is an amazing video! Such a good teacher. Your voice is so good in instruction and encouragement, my opinion is we do not need the repetitive music. Even though it was quiet -ish, it was too much. Thank you SO MUCH for the v neck sewing instruction.
Glad it was helpful! ~K
The music is maddening. It turns me off of so many helpful videos. I'm not a child. I don't need music to pay attention.
Love all these tips! Thank you so much!🦋
Brilliant. Maybe I can overcome my Fear of V-Necks; they're my fave to wear, but I haven't sewn one.
You can do it! We've had several sewists have success with their vnecks after using the tips from the vid. I hope you're also successful!! ~J
Wow! I'm blown away by your tutorial. That's a fantastic way to do a V neckline. Plus I hadn't even thought about stripes and how to keep them straight so they don't go all wonky. Thank you.
I love your taste in prints. So hard to find a good knit floral pattern and you can’t beat tiny stripes. Great tutorial. Thanks🌸
Stripes are awesome! So happy you enjoyed the tutorial! ~K
I've been struggling with V-neck neckbands for a few weeks. Everyone has just a slightly different way to do it, or new tips that you don't see in other videos. Yours is the only one I found that used serging on the finish. THANK YOU. If you search for serged V-necks, you won't find anything. Going to try your process step-by-step tonight. Appreciate the video -- and the stripes + flowers are super cute. :)
Thanks for sharing! Hope you end up with a great piece!
This video was perfect. Thank you for going so slow and repeating the steps at the end. I can’t wait to try what I’ve learned.
You got this! ~K
OMG what a game-changer!!! I needed to make a scoop neck pattern into a v-neck and a pattern page was missing. LOL. So finding this was a total blessing. I'll never make a v-neck any other way!! Thank you so much!!
Woo hoo! So glad you found it helpful and useful for your sewing! Good luck!☺️ ~J
Your wonderful clear demo of cutting the stripe neckband fabric straight and figuring out the stripe placement was a real gift. Thank you so much.
Aww that's awesome to hear! Happy Sewing! ~K
You are my hero today!! I'm.workimg on my skills with knits and I could not understand what the heck my pattern was trying to tell me!! Thank you so much
Awesome to hear! Happy sewing! ~K
Best V neck tutorial I’ve seen. Thank you!!!!
Thank you so much for showing this!
So glad it was helpful for you Debbie! ~K
Thank you for your wonderful tutorial. I’ve watched a number of tutorials that show how to make a V-neck, but yours is the only one that is thorough enough to ensure that it comes out right each time. I’m still not a confident enough machine sewer, so I stitch the area around the V by hand (which gives me the control I need), finishing off the rest of the neck by machine. With much gratitude - and warm greetings! - from Cape Town!
Glad it was helpful!
THANKS NOREEN, GREAT VIDEO!

Hi this is the 2nd video I’ve watched for vine I, the first one I followed I had to undo, I’ve just followed yours and it perfect, thank you so much excellent video xx
Awesome! Thank you so much for letting us know Dianne! We are delighted to hear that Noreen's video was helpful! ~K
This is a beautifully made tutorial. Your voice is soothing and you have wisely kept the background music soft. Not everyone does this so well.
I love sewing with knits and have been doing so ever since knitted fabrics became very popular in the 1960's and more machines were built with zigzag stitch capability. They really are not that difficult to sew, particularly if one is careful when cutting the pattern pieces. With simple seams, (sides, shoulders and such), I'm partial to using a very narrow set of double needles. I like the strength of the seam and the lack of puckering which can sometimes occur with zig-zag stitches and a single needle. It IS very necessary to get the tension right but a little testing beforehand using scraps will prevent that. And having a fresh sharp needle(s) is particularly important. I often do hems with double needles as well. It's not as fast as a coverstitch machine but the end result is almost the same. A coverstitch machine is very expensive, especially if not used constantly (I'd rather buy fabric!).
One thing I never thought of is using a scrap of iron-on interfacing to stabilize the V of the neckline - that's simply brilliant! I've used interfacing scraps on shoulder seams to prevent drooping and I'm delighted with this idea. I'm another one who hates to waste a lot of interfacing, so thank you very much! 😍
Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing so much helpful info with us. So happy you found this tutorial useful and valuable! ~K

I’ve bought several Love Notion patterns, but have only just discovered all the helpful videos after buying the Aria/course. I had no idea such a fabulous and complete sewing company existed. Kudos to you.

Great tutorial, loving the painting above the sewing machine x
Thank you! Cheers! ~K
I needed this a couple of days ago! (boo hoo) - So excited to try it out for next time, though. Love your video - so thorough and clear!
Thanks for a great video.
Thank you for your clear concise instructions - just sewed my first love notions v neck laundry day T. I am delighted with how the v neck turned out . 😊
So good to hear! Congrats on nailing your v neck! ~K
Brilliant, thank you so much! Been struggling with getting tidy V necks, you have helped me nail it 🙏
Yay! Happy to help! ~K
Thank you excellent tutorial😊
Finally...a video tutorial that doesn't cater only to beginners. Lots of professional tips to make the V-neck come out beautifully. Those "little" details make the difference between just looking acceptable vs. WOW. Sewed my first V-neck yesterday and it looks pretty good. After seeing this video, I'm sure my second one will look crisp and professional. I've been sewing most of my life but just never tackled this type of V-neck; I always did them with a facing. Facings look lame and homemade compared to this method. Awesome video; thank you!😜
Glad you found it helpful! ~J
Excellent tutorial on sewing a V-neckband on a blouse. I love the sewing patterns from Love Notions and have purchased a few and do have the Classic Tee! I never knew about this technique, thank you so much!!!!!

Great tip to cut the fishtail!
Glad it was helpful! ~K
I liked it also but it seems it shortens the neckband...am I missing something? @@LoveNotions
Thank you. Always good to get help from those in the know.
You're welcome! Happy to help! :-) ~K
Great info!! Yes, I like to sew the v neckband from the center outwards for both sides of the band be fore attaching to the neckline as well. Best Video I've seen on this!!
