So pleased I watched this tutorial before finishing the Sunday Romper; I would never have done such a neat job using only the pattern instructions. Thank you, very clear and easy to understand.
I’m glad you have now. I wonder why scrubs have V necklines. Having worn scrubs for years on end... I wondered whyyyy. The ones I wore were unisex and very shapeless/ugly.
Lifting Pins and Needles I started making scrubs as my daughter was just finishing her medical degree and being accelerated into work because of COVID-19 in the uk. She’s 4’11” and petite. Men’s small scrubs swamped her. Then I made them for a couple of GPs who were required to wear them, but couldn’t buy them, and then for an Osteopath who will be required to change clothes between seeing patients or consume masses of plastic to be disposed of after each consultation. He has said made to measure scrubs are the most comfortable work clothes he has! The power of fitting!!
Marina, I love how you do hand basting. That shows how much care and pride you put into your makes😁. This encourages me to do likewise, even in simple designs. That gives your garments that high end couture quality. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you very much for your explicit videos, I am working on the love notions sunday romper and am hesitant to do the v neckline. Your video has been a great help. Many thanks.
Thanks so Much for doing this sew along. Your demo of making the V-neckline was so helpful. Because you did so, I got grave a decided to try the Laundry Day dress with the V. So glad I did. I just did it using your method and I’m pretty happy with it. Thank you Karina! Love watching and learning from you.
First of all: Happy New Year. May 2020 be joyful and prosperous for you and your loved ones 😙💕. Lovely flowwy summer dresses. Thank you for all the detail on the neckband construction. 💕
Thanks to you I now own about 8 patterns in the last 2 days. I didn’t know about getting things off your webcast to help you. I certainly would have done that. Next time.
thank you for the video Karina, I actually have the other pattern, Love Notions classic tee pattern and always make the vshape. I have made it long sleeves and short sleeves for the summer. I have even combined a puffed sleeve pattern on it which came out great. All in knit fabric. I have learned the hard way on at least one of the shirts, to always take the extra steps you explained for the v neck. thanks again. Love Love Notions patterns.
I have to make the classic tee when I have a knit that inspires me. I’ve ruined my share of V necklines before too. Although I cut away the mistake and have done it again more low cut 😄. It’s worth the extra little steps for sure.
I just love your tutorials!!! Soo informative ,precice and fun,I'm learning something new every single time .Thank yoy soo much for sharing you talent with us .Lots of love from Poland
Hi Karina. I enjoy all of your videos. I learned to sew at a young age but I am always wanting to learn new or better techniques. And fabrics have changed quite a lot since I first learned to sew. When fabrics change, so does the techniques and notions needed to handle new types of fabrics. Thank you so much for your videos. Happy New Year to you and your family.
Thank you so much 😊. I started in the early 90s and sewed wovens exclusively for years and years. Knits came way after and I also had to adapt and change my ways. It’s an evolving process and I do enjoy it.
Hi Karina Happy new year 🥳 Just to let you know I was so inspired by your willow wrap vlog that I made it up immediately and wore it out New Year’s Eve. I really liked the tip about lining the back, the only change I made that you didn’t was to hand stitch the facing for a more formal look I love your vlogs and look forward to many more inspirational makes this year 🥰👍 Love B 🐝 xxx
I am having a lot of trouble with the placket on McCalls R11230. I am using a knit, as they recommend. If you have ever done a placket neck like this I would really appreciate if you would share.
I haven’t made a pattern exactly like it but I’d you search for the Vivace dolman video, you can see how I’d deal with the little 90 degree angles at the bottom.
As always lots of tips and good instruction. You make learning so interesting! I didnt like the LDT but will try it again with the new bust piece, plus maybe another pattern or two. Happy New Year!
The bust piece will make a difference and the sleeve/armscye has also been re drafted completely and looked great on the testers. All the best and thanks for watching 😀
Great tutorial! Love both of the dresses, fabric is so pretty. Especially love the v neck. They look so comfortable! You did such a great job demonstrating how to baste that v into place. I am so ready now. Just printed off the pattern, now to trace and cut out, but what fabric??? Thank you so much, you are Brilliant!
The LDT is my go to pattern - I love it! It is just so versatile 😍❤️ I have taken advantage of the sale and picked up a couple of patterns I hadn’t got in my stash
I have checked it out, loved the pattern and ordered it. I have the twin needles. I understand the sizes are in millimetres and relate to the distance between the needles so the small spaced one is probably a 2mm and the larger a 4mm. Thanks for all you do I love your style and learn something every video I watch.
Thank you for the v-neck tutorial. I have avoided them but you’ve given me the confidence to give it a try. I have made several Laundry Day dresses. They fit me great everywhere but the sleeves are always huge on me. Yours seem to fit perfectly. Do you have to make full bicep adjustments on other patterns? I don’t recall having a problem with sleeve size on any other pattern.
The whole pattern has been redrafted and the sleeve is no longer on the fold. In the test, some ease was taken from the sleeve too. I suggest getting the updated version from your love notions account and trying it 😊

Wow, thanks so much for showing me the hand basting to keep those slippery layers together!! I was ready to throw my shirt in the trash! You saved it!
Great video!! I’ve made one Laundry Day Tee with a “ V “ neck. This video will help greatly for my second!
So pleased I watched this tutorial before finishing the Sunday Romper; I would never have done such a neat job using only the pattern instructions. Thank you, very clear and easy to understand.
Your tutorial is very clear. Nicely filmed and edited. Thanks!
Thanks for watching 😊. I do put a lot of thought into how I can show the process easily and clearly 😃
Thank you for this tutorial. I'm making the LN Classic T and working with a very fiddly knit so I appreciate all your tips.
I wish I had watched this before I sewed lots of scrub tops! Very useful, Thankyou as always.

Awesome Tutorial!
So thankful for your video. It’s 2021 but I am just finding all your tutorials 😍!
Welcome. You have hundreds to catch up on 😀
Thank you Karina.
Thanks so much for the neck band detail. You need to wear more of the vivid blue in your sweatshirt. It is a wonderful color on you.
I love blue as much as red and have been making more blue this year :)
Love the v neck tutorial, very helpful. I love the idea of basting. That looks like it really helps.
Marina, I love how you do hand basting. That shows how much care and pride you put into your makes😁. This encourages me to do likewise, even in simple designs. That gives your garments that high end couture quality. Thank you for sharing!
I’ve never had the idea that hand basting is a nuisance because it’s how I started. I always find it worthwhile and never regret it.
Thank you, thank you, for your precise, slow, repeatable lesson on creating a v-neck on a knit top. Wonderful!
I want to thank you for your V neck tutorial. It really helped with get a nice looking v neck for the first time. Yay Karina thanks
Perfect instructions Thank You. Beautiful dresses ❤️😊🙌🏻
Thank you very much for your explicit videos, I am working on the love notions sunday romper and am hesitant to do the v neckline. Your video has been a great help. Many thanks.
You can do it!
Thanks, Karina .. happy new year to you and your family. 💚💚💚
You’re welcome 😉. Happy new year to you too.
I’m pretty slim built so I love the center back seam detail. I am going to try it.
The center back seam helps with shaping at the back too if needed. I never mind a seam there :)
This was an awesome demonstration, super helpful for me!
Thanks so

I appreciate that you hand baste for precision - I hate to try to sew around a bunch of pins in the fiddly areas!
Tell me about it. Pins are a nuisance and serve their purpose for general straight seams... otherwise... annoying :)
First of all: Happy New Year. May 2020 be joyful and prosperous for you and your loved ones 😙💕. Lovely flowwy summer dresses. Thank you for all the detail on the neckband construction. 💕
Happy new year to you too 😀. I’m glad you liked the tutorial.

No worries. Your support here is also super important. Thank you so much 😊
Will be trying my first one this soon first knit also
All the best. It’s a cute first project to tackle in knits :)

You’re very welcome. You’ll love the pattern 😊
Happy new year !🍾🍀💕
Thank you so much 😊, to you too!
I just love your tutorials!!! Soo informative ,precice and fun,I'm learning something new every single time .Thank yoy soo much for sharing you talent with us .Lots of love from Poland
Thank you so much 😊. That makes me happy. My goal is exactly that. To have practical things all the time.

Thanks for this video. I have the pattern and had a bit of trouble with one of my vnecks so will try again.
It’s a bit of practice and just slowing down when the time comes for this little area. It’s so worth it because it’s so pretty.
Love this! Thank you for a V tutorial.
You’re welcome 😉. I hope it helps.
love the laundry day tee, thanks for letting us know about the sale I have several more patterns I will get
How exciting. Sales are too fun. Thank you so much for watching 😊

Happy new year to you too 🤩
Happy New Year, Katrina...Great video...
Happy new year to you too 😀

I have this pattern, it’s great! I hope your new year is filled with blessings, happy stitching!
Thank you so much 😊. You can get the updated one in your account too. It’s been redrafted :)
Thank you so much for this video! Did you top stitch around the neckline also?
You’re very welcome and no, I never ever topstitch around the neckline. It rarely looks good and it’s not necessary.
Thank you, great tutorial, thank you very much for your help :))
You’re very welcome 😊

I love this pattern and don’t know why I’ve only made one! Both dresses are so pretty and you both look lovely in them! Happy New Year! 🎉🎉🎉
Me too! I’ve found nice ITY knits I’ve destined to more of these! Thanks for watching 😊.
I’d recommend rayon spandex. Easier to manipulate than ITY for the first time :)
All the best and I hope you enjoy the process.
Thank you, I will give that a try.
The LDT is my go to pattern - I love it! It is just so versatile 😍❤️ I have taken advantage of the sale and picked up a couple of patterns I hadn’t got in my stash
How exciting! I’d suggest getting the updated pattern from your account. It’s been improved and it’s worth trying it out too.
Feliz Ano Novo com muita costura! Adoro teus vídeos!
Muito obrigada 😊. Faço eles com muito carinho mesmo.
Happy new year! I love that dress pattern, both versions! You did a lovely job.
Thank you so much 😊
Hi Karina, How do you avoid ‘tunnelling’ when twin needling hems it is a problem I have. Thank you. Great video as always.
Hi Hazel. Look at the video I posted today about the Balboa skirts and you’ll see footage on that topic :)

Lifting Pins and Needles, great to know. Thank you!
Did you hem your sleeves before you attached them to the dress?
I always hem my sleeves before sewing them on the garment.
