Thank you sew much for sharing your tutorial with us.... it’s nice to see that as we create our own style of clothing we can push the boundaries just a little.... you’re inspirational indeed. Cheers from Australia
Watching your channel has got me thinking about hashing my existing patterns. I’m apple shaped and additional material at the front is not a good look for me. But I love the Vivace neckline so am thinking of making the top turning the pleat into a faux button band. If it looks good I might make another in dress length. Thank you for all the work you put into your videos, they are so inspiring
I never heard of Love Notions before you. I now have 12 of their patterns :-)). Looking at their sample pix, I know it's you as soon as I see the fabric. You have gorgeous taste. Also, I received your sale notice and bought 6 more today.
I love that you showed how to eliminate the pleat. That was the one feature that was keeping me from purchasing the pattern. Love the neckline too! Thanks!
I just recently found your RUclips videos! Karina, you are great 👍, so inspiring. I already made myself the Chemainus top because I liked your so much. And I love mine. So now I am watching all your older videos and I am sure there will be more things I will copy from you 🤪. Keep on doing your great videos 😍❤️🥰😘
Hi Karina! I just finished the second pattern you suggested from Itch-to-Stitch patterns. I made the Bonn shirt and I love, love it. There will more to come .... ❤️. Thanks a lot for your inspiration.
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles Karina, I just used your affiliate link and got 2 more patterns. I changed my mind about the Sunday Romper and got the Girls La Bella Donna! So my granddaughter and I can match!
Hi karina just bought 2 patterns from love notions through your affiliate link. I bought the lyric dress and the dolce dress. My first purchase from love notions.
I love how you simplified the Lyric. I purchased that pattern a few months ago but I have not felt comfortable tackling the button placket. Now I am encouraged to try the dress with the flat front. Thank you for this. ❤️
Karina, you got me, I am about to get the Vivace Dolman because of this video. I was just not crazy about that pleat, loved the neckline and the looseness of the top. Yes going to get it now. Thanks. I have the lyric and I am going to try the knit version before I do the woven.
Oh Karina! I bought all the patterns! So many! The prices were so lovely! Didn't get Vivace will put that on my next buy list. So excited for Lyric, I think I will make a bunch of those.
Excellent content, new looks, same pattern! I especially like how you finish your seams, and make it look as neat on the inside as the outside. My mom taught me that and it helps give more life to the make. Beautiful!
I'm so excited about my Love Notions purchase! I watched your playlist to get ideas about what I wanted. This is the first time buying Love Notions! I bought the Men's Game Day Jersey, the Summer Basics Tank and Dress, the Rhapsody Blouse & Dress, the Octave Coat, and the Ladies Luna Loungewear. Sooo Excited and thanks for all of your great tutorials for the Love Notions patterns! I am very glad I took the time over the last few days to watch and see what possibilities there were with these patterns!
Lifting Pins and Needles the fabric- the pretty colorful pink pattered material. And, the one you wore for your Vivace & Lyric simplified versions. Hope this helps. I know you are going to say that you’ve had them for awhile and don’t know where you got them and if they are still available. All I seemed to find was double faced poly. I bought some of that for the cooler months. I want rayon blends in beautiful colors!! No one in town or online, that I have looked at, seem to have that. So frustrating!!
That would take considerable pattern changes. It’s not worth it. The neckline is curved and can’t really be placed over the front piece to make it one piece. Also how would you do the pleat…. The pleat is on the front piece only. In summary: I would sew the original.
I like the pleat too. I made it like this to demonstrate how anything is really possible with our sewing and how patterns can be made simple. I’ve never said I didn’t like the pleat. I use any regular interfacing, I don’t know what SF101 is because I live in Brazil and I use what I find here.
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles No I wasn't referring to you not liking the pleat, I've just heard others saying that they don't like it and so they too eliminated it. I didn't know if the SF101 was available in Brazil or not or if perhaps you tried it when you lived in some other place. It is a woven interfacing and is available in black or white. I have used it a few times on garments that were dark because it was the only thing I had. BTW thanks for demoing the hacks I will have to try it on the Vivace.

I love that you can change up the pattern to a simpler construction. Sometimes simple is best. They look great!
Less is more when the fabric is so striking! I think for solids, all the features stand out more.
Brilliant like always Karina, Thanks
😍
Lovely love it .. Karina thanks for sharing 😘😘
You’re very welcome 😊
Thank you ! Simple constructions are the ones we are most inclined to sew over and over again.
Yes! I agree! And when the print is so pretty, more features aren’t necessary.

Thank you for this creative and informative video.
You’re very welcome 😉
WOW! Cutting out that circle is brilliant.
I can’t take credit, I saw this years ago in a photo. Before, I’d draw the circle and look under the paper.
Your v-neck tutorial is a game changer☺️. Thank you!
I’m glad it helped :)
That tropical fabric is gorgeous. Thanks for the tips
You’re very welcome 😉
Very interesting. Love how easy it was to do it without the pleat. Great way to widen the bottom a bit.
So much easier :) I love all the possibilities in each pattern I sew 😄
Love the Lyric in knit. So clean looking and it fits you perfectly.
Thank you so much 😊
It looks fabulous with the black and without the pleat. Thanks for the tips.
I’ll be making more simple ones. So fast :)
I really like this neckline. Appreciate the reminder not to put a focus flower on the apex of the bust, and the easy way to avoid it.
I’ve done it too many times in the past... it’s an obsession to avoid it now :)

I love ur channel you are very beautiful and clever with patterns and fabrics x
Thank you so much 😊

They are so good and the styles so wearable. I’ve literally got one on most days :)
I love that you showed how to eliminate the pleat. That was the one feature that was keeping me from purchasing the pattern. Love the neckline too! Thanks!
Ohhhh, I like it you cut a circle out on the apex of the pattern. Brilliant, this will save me some awkward pattern placements in the future. Thanks!
I can’t take credit . I saw this years ago in a photo and it’s made a huge difference :)
Love Notion patterns are reasonable at full price. The sale is great!
I agree. There’s great value with all the options too.

Great fun changes to these patterns!

I’m so glad you had a good experience! I need to revisit the pattern and make the dress version :)
Love the cut out circle idea. Thank you ! The fabric you have used on your top you are wearing is fabulous.
Thank you so much 😊. It’s a happy one.
Love your makes!! Thank you for all this great info 🙂

Lovely instructions and I love your circle cutout....I've had a couple of flower mishaps before lol. Thanks for the content.
I’ve had them too!
Hi karina just bought 2 patterns from love notions through your affiliate link. I bought the lyric dress and the dolce dress. My first purchase from love notions.
I love the dolce it’s so cute! I’ve thought to adapt the Lyric to look like the Dolce.
I love how you simplified the Lyric. I purchased that pattern a few months ago but I have not felt comfortable tackling the button placket. Now I am encouraged to try the dress with the flat front. Thank you for this. ❤️
You can do this with woven and add a zipper at the back too.

Great idea, thanks!

I like the pleat too but since the question was there.... it’s nice without it too.

It’s a style to make many of! It’s so lovely.
Great adaptations for an easy sew. Love the fabrics, you have convinced to get the Vivace xxx
It’s a great basic :)
I had this idea as well - thanks for trying out for us! Love this!
Awesome! You’ll enjoy the simplicity.
Like always cute looks good I like it going to try it
Thank you so much 😊
Excellent content, new looks, same pattern! I especially like how you finish your seams, and make it look as neat on the inside as the outside. My mom taught me that and it helps give more life to the make. Beautiful!
Yes it makes it last and I feel better about wearing it when it’s nice and neat.
Yea love this
Love the VIVACE DOLMAN pattern. I would like to get that.
It’s a great one :)
Talked me into both of these because of the changes made not bad for someone on a pattern ban, lol I may actually make a dress, stay tuned 🤣🤣
Dresses are so comfy and you don’t need to style anything, shoes and bam. Done ✅ he he

Karina, I love your fabric on the dress you are wearing! I also love your second make dress. I can’t find anything like that. Any suggestions?
What dress are you referring to as my “second make dress”? The pattern or the fabric?
Lifting Pins and Needles the fabric- the pretty colorful pink pattered material. And, the one you wore for your Vivace & Lyric simplified versions. Hope this helps. I know you are going to say that you’ve had them for awhile and don’t know where you got them and if they are still available. All I seemed to find was double faced poly. I can never link my fabrics because they are sold only here in Brazil. Shops here do not sell internationally I’m afraid.
Hi Karina would you add on the same amount from the bottom when making dolman dress
First one here! Love this channel 😀
Yay! Thank you so much 😊
Hi Katrina! Would it be possible to make this top with the facing built in? So there were no sewing lines, just the pleat?
That would take considerable pattern changes. It’s not worth it. The neckline is curved and can’t really be placed over the front piece to make it one piece. Also how would you do the pleat…. The pleat is on the front piece only. In summary: I would sew the original.
Great changes! What is the size of your bust circle? I’ve seen you do this before and it is very clever.
I use a coffee cup! 😄. There’s always one around and draw it with that.
very nice i need to get some of these soft drape fabrics what fabrics is it rayon or rayon blends?
rayon and rayon blends will most likely drape very well. Both in woven and knit :)
What kind of stabilizer is that? Is it woven like SF101? I must be odd because I love the pleat detail, that's what drew me to the pattern.
I like the pleat too. I made it like this to demonstrate how anything is really possible with our sewing and how patterns can be made simple. I’ve never said I didn’t like the pleat.
I use any regular interfacing,
I don’t know what SF101 is because I live in Brazil and I use what I find here.

🥰🥰🥰
I like the way .you removed the pleat. Do you think you could just gather the extra fabric or would that be just as difficult sewing as the pleat.?
Actually gathering would be harder. For sure and it would be bulky, in my opinion. I like the flat front like this :)
Lifting Pins and Needles thanks
