      Less is more when the fabric is so striking! I think for solids, all the features stand out more.

    Watching your channel has got me thinking about hashing my existing patterns. I’m apple shaped and additional material at the front is not a good look for me. But I love the Vivace neckline so am thinking of making the top turning the pleat into a faux button band. If it looks good I might make another in dress length. Thank you for all the work you put into your videos, they are so inspiring

      Lifting Pins and Needles the fabric- the pretty colorful pink pattered material. And, the one you wore for your Vivace & Lyric simplified versions. Hope this helps. I know you are going to say that you’ve had them for awhile and don’t know where you got them and if they are still available. All I seemed to find was double faced poly. I bought some of that for the cooler months. I want rayon blends in beautiful colors!! No one in town or online, that I have looked at, seem to have that. So frustrating!!

    Hi Katrina! Would it be possible to make this top with the facing built in? So there were no sewing lines, just the pleat?

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  2 года назад

      That would take considerable pattern changes. It’s not worth it. The neckline is curved and can’t really be placed over the front piece to make it one piece. Also how would you do the pleat…. The pleat is on the front piece only. In summary: I would sew the original.

  • @Angela10226
    @Angela10226 4 года назад +1

    What kind of stabilizer is that? Is it woven like SF101? I must be odd because I love the pleat detail, that's what drew me to the pattern.

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  4 года назад +1

      I like the pleat too. I made it like this to demonstrate how anything is really possible with our sewing and how patterns can be made simple. I’ve never said I didn’t like the pleat.
      I use any regular interfacing,
      I don’t know what SF101 is because I live in Brazil and I use what I find here.

    • @Angela10226
      @Angela10226 4 года назад

      @@LiftingPinsandNeedles No I wasn't referring to you not liking the pleat, I've just heard others saying that they don't like it and so they too eliminated it. I didn't know if the SF101 was available in Brazil or not or if perhaps you tried it when you lived in some other place. It is a woven interfacing and is available in black or white. I have used it a few times on garments that were dark because it was the only thing I had. BTW thanks for demoing the hacks I will have to try it on the Vivace.

    I like the way .you removed the pleat. Do you think you could just gather the extra fabric or would that be just as difficult sewing as the pleat.?

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  4 года назад +1

      Actually gathering would be harder. For sure and it would be bulky, in my opinion. I like the flat front like this :)
