You know, I really miss Pete. By far the best companion. It was too soon. He didn't deserve to go like that.
Yeah, weird they chose to randomly kill off one of the audience’s favorite companions so unceremoniously by stepping on a butterfly
Yeah... Remember that time when the Doctor and Pete went to Raxacoricofalapatorius to stop the Slitheen from overthrowing the government and then going to Disneyland on Klom.
Pete Who? 🤪
Oh no... He got erased from the poor fella's memory bank!
Not to be confused with the Doctor’s son, Pete Who. (“Pete Who” could also be Pete Townshend.)
Just one butterfly and the best companion in the history of Doctor Who, Pete, ceased to exist
Who’s Pete?
Wait... Doctor WHO???
Everyone seems to have forgotten that martha jones said the exact same thing.
Yeah pete was the best companion imo
@@stevenbartel5008 RIP Pete
RIP PETE he never existed :(
Rory: Ya, I know that feeling.
Darkatron ! Miss Pete! He was a ball of laughs! 😭
+Darkatron ! LOL
Who's Pete? (lol)
But what about Rory?
I love 12 in this era. He's gone through so much, he tried being the big angry tough guy and finaly he's completely softened and let go - finally he's actually having fun.
I love how out of all of the other companions, Bill is the most time travel worried one which is actually probably a good thing. I mean of course the others questioned it a bit but Phil is actually worried about accidentally changing time
Martha was at first. She even did the butterfly speech too.
...I see what you did there
"Your species hardly notices anything." *completely ignores the warning signal.* Don't sell us too short, Twelve.
The Truth Hurts
As much as I loved Clara as a companion. Bill was a much better foil for Capaldi’s Doctor. There should have been at least one more season and a regeneration at the end.
Tbh I liked clara better they had a more playful relationship and they were extremely open with each other. Bill and the doctor worked well but I didn't see the same chemistry between them until very late in the season
I dont much care for Bill personally... I cant quite put my finger on why though, I just find her irritating
@@DisKorruptd yh same tbf I don't hate her but I just prefer other companions
I prefer Clara over bill and nardole
@@ciarantimothy8081 Same, Bill felt like "oh hey, don't forget, I'm black AND a lesbian!" whereas Martha Jones was an intelligent woman first, and black woman second, yes, she had an obsession with the doctor, but who wouldn't when your first day meeting him sees him kissing you and telling you it'll save the world?
"your species hardly notices anything." then the doctor didn't see how there was danger under the water
A Unicorn he’d only been there 10 minutes , and he did find out he pointed out the green lights , but that statement is true because it’s ironic 😂the camera focuses on the tardis desktop showing danger
well nobody's perfect
Or maybe he did see it and pretended not to, so as not to freak Bill out and make her overreact. Could be that he's perfectly aware there's something there, but he wants to find out more about it before he reveals that he knows of its existence under the ice.
@@h0lly_blue he's not human then now is he?
@@h0lly_blue mind you, the nose is a definite improvement!
I will seriously miss Capaldi, hope he returns to meet Jodie at some point soon
That would be i interesting :)
My dream would be a multi-Doctor episode with Whittaker, Capaldi, Smith, Tennant & Eccleston, though it’s unlikely the latter would ever do it. Like a modern Five Doctors now that we have five nuWho Doctors.
@@tsukopara2054 Maybe for the 60th anniversary in a few years.
Just wait five more years. :)
Jodie is stupid
I wish Bill had a longer run :(
yea i miss her too :(
Yep. I think she was the first gay companion since Izzy
I don't.
Tyler Bailey
same
I think she would be amazing with the thirteenth + maybe Graham?Anyway, they should've kept her to travel with the new doctor
"Well, you were enjoying yourself, I assumed we'd get to work eventually." best line in the episode
That grin he throws at her after he asks who Pete is
Capaldi look like fantastic with that suit👍👍👍👍👍
Aaro The Wanderer Yeah xD
He does
Aaro The Wanderer 9
WatchMyStuff Productions 9 is too brilliant costume👍👍👍

@@blethigg9320 Haha true 😂
@@blethigg9320 he was very lonely without River
@@classicmusician700 "And magic spells."
By the way, Capaldi is still an underrated Doctor.
Great potential, terrible scripts.
I'd say he's pretty overrated, given that the majority of his stories were awful. He got off pretty lightly considering how bad his era was.
It gets worse
@@TheRock-dp3vh I think it shows just how phenomenal n actor he is when he's given terrible stories and I still absolutely adored his scenes. While the Hell Bent story is god awful, Heaven Sent is phenomenal and goes to show that Capaldi is the doctor in it's very essence
@@TheRock-dp3vh Not Capaldi's fault if his stories are bad, what we can recognize him for is how much passion he had for the role and how much that showed through in his performance, regardless of if the moon is an egg or not
Not the first time he's been on top of a River, huh.
ffs
as if you'd even suggest that river is a bottom smh
lmao I just realised this comment is 5 years old what am I doing with my life
loved bill because she was naturally curios and asked question that the audience wanted to ask at some point. it's all so new and weird, and it's natural to be curious, plus she's funny and her dynamic with 12 was great
Poor poor Pete
Who’s Pete???
I liked Bill, I wish she'd stayed.
I liked Pete
2:28 Classic trick.
2:41 "With tentacles." Should I comment on that?
He does tell people not to check his browser history.
Spearhead from Space reference?
Another accurate portrayal of regency England..
Shouldn't those slaves be walking to the shipyard, not messing around on the street???
@@billwilliams328 That would be weird, since slavery in Britain (the island, not the empire) disappeared around 1800. And the slaves in Britain before that were mostly domestic servants. So I’m not quite sure what you’re on about? There were about 15,000 to 20,000 black people in London, so seeing them around would have been perfectly normal.
Yes it is.
@@JeantheSecond The representation of black people in this scene is completely abnormal and contrary to historical fact. Only someone with an agenda or a fool would agree with it.
@@billwilliams328 Oh, please, do show your research.
Personally I think the solution to time travel that makes the most sense would be the concept that you always were a time traveler, that is how it always happened, as in if you go back in time and step on a butterfly that is how it happened every time and you don't actually change something, if you go back in time and kill a celebrity or a dictator, it was always you that did that and that will always happen
I'm hoping Pearl Mackie finds her way in some episodes, like Rose has.
0:11 Doctor Who's take on EastEnders.
We don't talk about Dimensions in Time.
@@Jokie155 Did I say anything about "Dimensions in Time"?
Zero gravity wrestling with tentacles and magic spells, sounds like the type of ‘wrestling’ I like
Oh, I love the way that Doctor Who dealt with Bill's exit. I felt like so many of my questions were answered in Bill's last episode. I wish she stayed longer, so we could see a bit of character development, but I still love Bill! I think Bill and the 12th work perfectly together, what with their personalities, but I'm really excited for Jodie Whittaker. I hope she knows that she is playing the role of a legend. Sorry, I'm ranting. My point is, thank you Doctor Who, for making Season 10 epic! Can't wait to see what's in store! :3
So, 5 years later, what did you think of the literal pile of burning dog shit that was the Chibnall Era?
“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”
What's your point exactly?
@@juuliusceaser4688
It's a line from 1984 and it's applicable with scenes like this, specifically around 2:55.
It is just the craziest and the dumbest compering of 1984 and real life that I ever seen! How can you really think that every country ( even that is enemies with eachother) in the world are hiding the "ReAL HiSToRy" from everyone and only fantastic TV show knows about that?!!!
Even your grandparents can tell you that at the Victorian time of their grandparents was no black or asian aristocracy in Europe at all! Or they've been brainwashed too???
And if you think that there was no racism in the 19th cent. why are you blaming Whites for imperialism and slavery???
It is one of the biggest leftist paradoxes that I heard...
@@stellarktg5149 What point are you trying to make here? Whatever it is, I think Sutcliffe already made it in that very episode
@@wessltov The point is that the statement: " history is whitewashed" is nonsense.
"We've kind of got to tell a lie. We'll go back into history and there will be black people where, historically, there wouldn't have been, and we won't dwell on that. We'll say, 'To hell with it, this is the imaginary, better version of the world. By believing in it, we'll summon it forth'."
- Steven Moffat
It's not moffat, it's the BBC.
It's curious they criticize white people to rewrite history while they are the ones who actually do it.
Peter Capaldi with that suit and a top hat, I love it!
Ah, Martha and Ace callbacks. Sometimes I love pandas
When the Doctor mentioned Rose's dad (Pete)
ikr
I doubt they are linked
Could of, but wouldn't make sense in the context.
I never knew Queen Victoria was black.
In the Doctors first adventure with a companion, I always fall a little bit more in love with the show.🥰
are they really trying to argue that brits were black LOL
Don't forget them thinking black is the only kind of brown when describing Jesus.

I remember that scene with Pete then all of a sudden he was gone
Who's Pete?
They should one day show the episode where the Doctor and River visited the last of the great frost fairs, with Stevie Wonder singing under London Bridge in 1814 (but obscure his face cos he would probably be played by an actor cos they obviously can’t afford to bring in the real Stevie Wonder).
Stephen Murphy No
where am i why no?
Stephen Murphy Because no
Stephen Murphy that would have to be with Matt Smith
Prof. Evil Pictures yes in a possible, future multi-Doctor story.
I just realised he's Pete 😂
Who’s Pete then
Superauthentic S S He
You guys should post(unless you have) the moment when Bill asks him if he’d kill anyone
I feel like Bill wasn’t the best companion but one of the most relatable.
Try Martha Jones, a Companion who was good and didnt need some crack in time, didnt need to become part timelord, didnt need to be the girl who saves the doctor, she didnt even need the doctor himself, She was good.
Really? She was my second favorite companion after Donna Noble. Oh well, to each their own.
"So was Jesus".
Never knew The Doctor read Revelations. Either that or saw Spike Lee's Malcolm X
I mean, he could always go back and check.
I mean it's not like the show has ever had a Christmas special. Oh wait...
There is not now, nor has there ever been any contemporary record in history anywhere that offers any
Didn't tennant's doctor say he was there when jesus was born, and that he had taken the last room?
Africa is a little more white than you see in the movies.
After 1772, it was illegal to own slaves within the British Isles themselves, and in 1807 it was illegal anywhere in the Empire. Before this, there were serfs, forced to live and work on their land. The Vikings, Romans, and Britannic/Saxon tribes also made use of slave labour.
The legal status of slaves in the British Isles was always somewhat ambiguous. Generally, they would have been "servants", and while they were not treated as poorly as in the Americas, they were by no means cared for.
There have been small numbers of black people in the UK since the 11th century, but they were regarded mostly as curiosities. In 1504, a group of black slaves were sent to serve the King of Scotland. This is really where slavery in the current sense begins in Britain, however it is short lived.
The idea was that any man who stepped foot in England would be free, and while this was objectively false, it does show that most wealthy landowners in Britain had the mindset that slavery was a thing for the new world. The idea of English nationalism was taking hold around this period; we thought our "green and pleasant land" was no place for things such as slavery.
The slave trade was abolished in 1807, however the slaves in the colonies weren't freed until the 1833 act which was commenced in 1834 and the role out of compensation was then given out to slave owners.
I needs a Dr Who t shirt with Peter Capaldi in that outfit!
You should get a long coat and top hat with a picture of Capaldi in a tshirt printed on the back and side instead.
I love how they lampshade the fact that London didn't look like that, historically
I love all the historical fashion in this episode. The kids are so cute.
I've been showing my dad every season of Doctor Who and we're almost up to this season. I can't wait. These videos are reminding me how good the season was.
So ummm I feel I have to ask what did he think of series 11
Even though he was erased from history, I will never forget Pete.
My favorite part of this episode was the cute little sweet elephant that gave a nice big smile❣😉🐘
I wish Bill had stayed on for longer than just a season
Clara was an ok companion for the 12th doctor but Bill was much better but she couldn't beat the fantastic banter between Pete and the doctor and when he was erased from reality it was one of the most emotional moments of the show
I’m only now noticing this scene is similar to martha’s first trip to the past, where she asks all these questions!
the tardis really needs the ability to remotely send such important sensor updates to the doctor
Ayy I've rewatched this ep just last night. It has a calm but serious tone with lots of jokes. I like it.
Of all the new doctor who seasons this just felt so much like a classic 10 or 11 adventure and I just loved it so much
Just watched this on DVD. LOVE IT!
Great fun episode. Loved the costumes and the sets!
One of the times he went there was with River, for her birthday! River mentions it to Rory in A Good Man Goes to War
Love how the TARDIS gives the warning after he pilot has left.
literally my favorite way a tv show has said don't think about it too hard.
I think Bill gave him a new lease on life, with how they saw the wonder in everything.
I love that he mentions being here two times before - a reference to the Big Finish story Frostfire, maybe?
Yes, I remembered that one.
This clip is so good, I love bills questions in this clip.

Wonder if series 10 (is it? I've lost track) will be added to Netflix some point?
Is it just me or would Bradley Walsh make a fantastic Doctor?
Was this comment made before or after…?
I didn't care for this episode at first but now I do love it :)
Looks like The Doctor and Bill are skating on Thin Ice.

Sarah Dollard is a very talented writer. I hope she returns to write something in series 11
I've said this in other comments sections many times, but god I wish Bill was 12's companion the whole way through. Or at least longer than one season.

The Victorian Dynamo
Bill was the first time in Moffat's era that I legitimately liked a companion and she had to be in Moffat's most burnt-out season.
Alright, mutton, sheep heart and ox cheek sound reasonably appetizing, meat is meat after all, but what the hell is the Doctor eating???
Ox tail?
Fantastic episode
I can't believe they done Pete dirty like that
Space Babies answered what happened to Pete 😂
Tennant will always be my Doctor, but THIS is the proper way of answer your companions' serious and legit questions, Tenth! (Still bitter about his answer to Martha on "The Shakespeare Code")
Damn I still wish they kept that River thing in though
I love how doctor who knowledges what time travel would probably be like.
You really think your actions have consequences in history? There are a few individuals who have enough drive and luck that their actions matter, but beyond that, you could sing heavy metal in the 18th century to a crowd in London, get drunk and kill a guy, and ultimately very little would change. Maybe one or two people would look a little bit different, but beyond that, no.
Life would change for the family of the guy you killed and his descendants.
Still waiting on that series 11 trailer
