Come to Oahu and I'll take you around. I almost always have a spot for most weather variations. Also have a spare room. I'm also looking for someone to plan a New Caledonia dive trip this year.
I live in Greece and winter spearfishing here can be awesome! Next week we are getting the "Alkionedes" or Halcyon days of 18 degree sunny weather. Pity you didn't stay for them!!!
Thank you so much for the variety of experience you portray in your videos, where you show the reality most of us live. I get tired sometimes of watching the super Spearo vids of ridiculously huge catches (which you also have had). Days with no fish, frustrations etc, with the occasional delicious catch, are what most of us live and it's nice to see those more 'average' catches (that I can relate to) still treated with the respect they too deserve. You are the best inspiration on the web for any spearfisherman Daniel!!
Thanks Philip. I do enjoy shooting big fish every now and then but diving in many different countries has shown me this isn’t all there is to spearfishing. Enjoying the process and having fun is what it’s all about.
I don't want to say something, you are the expert. But my first two dives in the mediterranean by Chalkiriki, Greece was similar dark and dirty. It was the third day, and I had given up secretly, when we got so clear and calm water, that I completely fell in love with freediving. If that day didn't happen, I wouldn't have ever get to the sea in my life. Would have choosen mountains. 😅😂
Looked like some tricky diving there mate! Thats what I'm used to so I'm glad for the easy fish, warm water and amazing vis we've had here in NZ recently. Expecting a video from down under Down Under at some point, I think you'll like it. It was nice to come back from sea and find a Daniel Mann video waiting! Always good to pick up a few tips from an expert. Loving your work as always. Heard you on the Noob Spearo podcast recently and finally realised why your videos look so good. Keep at it mate!
Nice video Daniel in Italy. No much fish, but sometimes it worth the effort, it's a nice place too... Happy for you anyway. To the next adventure mate ciao ciao 😃😉💪💪👋👋
Nice one mate at least you shot a fish for us 😀 I always pass on the big mullet I see always give them a pretend psssuw are they any good to eat. Well done nice to see you in action again oh and 2 meters in my book is a luxury normally I can just about see past the end on s gun 😀😀😀
Good day Junior from Jamaica we have a beautiful sunny weather hold here with a lot of wind we can go be efficient because of the wind today but anyway keep your good work up you're doing a beautiful job your channel is the best diving Channel I ever watch so far very educational👍
Was just thinking of you this morning and wondering when the next vid was going to drop - just about to jump on a plane to Melb. but definitely have time to watch this before i go! Whoop!
Beautiful video makes me want to and try my own hand at it. The vibes, wakes my instinct I wanna go, setup a playlist with *Metallica* One and *Delta Parole* Wasted and go off into my own world right this moment.
Nice video ! Indeed the Mediterranean is such a hard place to spearfish. The main problem is that in summertime, spearfishing becomes VERY popular and you can see speargun from 6am to 9pm. Fishes are then educated and very scared. It requires a lot of skills and apnea to be an efficient fisherman in there. But like you said.. it's a challenge !!!
Man dream conditions. Here in North Florida (east coast) you have to go 10 miles out to see anything and by then youre in 90+ ft of water. I've been 40 miles out on the west coast and still only got 2-3 meters vis with perfect surface conditions XD. Dying to spearfish in some water like the med!
It's crazy to be looking for fish in interior Mediterranean. Living in UK your best choice is Portugal and trying out spots like Sagres. Or then canary islands. But I do enjoy watching the effort.
@@DanielMann ok... I've never went spear fishing before..i just use my fishing rods in the harbour but I'd love to do it one day ... if your every coming to 🇯🇲 Jamaica let me know.👌
Oh I definitely know that is the case for the US! I even took a band off the gun I was using here because I was diving so close to the rocks I didn’t want to break the spear.
I've been waiting for to post this year haha 😂 Also I hope you had a fun skiing in Austria over Christmas!🎄 I also recently shot my first kingfish, I'll make sure to tag you in my video this Thursday 👍 Looking forward to seeing what you have planned for us this year!!
wooah! great to see your videos again:-) keep up the good work!:-) you should take a trip to Norway again:-) Kristiansund have the big cods in the shallows now!:-) 20 meter vis and cods from 5 meters depth . big ones !:-)
Thank you Daniel. Another great video. Have you thought about selling merchandise? Spearfishing is pretty niche, I think a lot of the subs would be very happy to contribute considering the quality of video produced.
Awesome video dan.. as always i enjoy watching you spearfish with your friends ....if your ever in México Ensenada baja my casa is your casa ..Bajo Presión Spearfishing
Cracking video as always love the way you structure your videos to make the content grip you! I hope one day my content will be as structured as yours! Good job! 👍👊
Nice vid Daniel looks like you had a blast you should definitely come over to jersey channels islands. Nice waters plus on 40 mins on the plane from London 😊
Oh ya for sure. Love the med. Just prefer it warm, clear, and deep. In Hawaii now training with Justin. Not sure if you’ve ever been here but it’s just like the med except with a tiny bit more fish. All shore dives and super easy to swim to 30-40 m. Come visit and make a video I’ll be here for about 6 months.
I really like your videos Daniel, reminds me of my two trips to greece when i where a teenager when me & friend whent shallow water spear fishing. I'm wounder if you like fishing with rod n Reel aswell? Regardless "skitfiske" to you (shitty fishing in Swedish, more or less equal to the "break a legg" for actors.)
Hey Daniel love your content just wanted to ask what thickness of wetsuit do you use for winter spearfishing in the mediterranean as i am relatively new to spearfishing and want to try my luck during the winter as well!
Hey Maro, depends where in the Mediterranean but in this video I have a 9.5mm jacket and 7mm pants. In January just gone I was in Greece and used a full 7mm suit.
question, at 10:15 shouldnt you be worried about disturbing and eel in the rocks? Usually eels follow octopie so there could be a chance that one was near by since the mediteranean has a ton of them, just wondering since i got to see both an eel and an octopus up close, and they were realatively near each other.
I Love your Videos about mediterrainean sea because i only Go spearfishing there and i havent Seen the Video yet But i am already happy to See ist now....
dude didn't anyone tells you they've eaten everything in the med Went diving in turkey 6 wks one year and saw a moray the size of a pencil Shame as it looks so great Keep it up dude
There is few of us left Giorgio D and maybe couple guys from east. They know how to ambush the fish, personally been hunting them for decades, you need short speargun below 75 cm and good position. All kinds of weather but best is stormy conditions with no visibility, general you need to think as predator to catch a predator thats the only RULE and couple of meters of water.
catch satisfaction in the Mediterranean has no equal with any other sea, even if the average catch weight is certainly lower! Congrats 😁👋🏻

The Mediterranean is always a beautiful place to spearfish. It is very challenging area but satisfying. Nice video as always!
Mediterranean is literally paradise ! Keep up the good work Daniel 💪💪💪
Is it just me or does daniel look like Dicaprio in a wetsuit
Why thank you 🙏🏻
Sam Udonta I’ve never seen DiCaprio in a diving suit so couldn’t say!
@@martingoodef811 its more like Matt Damon in a wetsuit...
More like a cross between DiCaprio and Matt Damon
I’ll also accept Avicii.
As usualy, THE BEST!!!
Thanks again Daniel nice to see some winter sunshine and fish 🐟🐟
Hey Daniel I’m just getting into spearfishing and it’s amazing how you explain fish behaviour and what your doing down there great content
Woot!! Awesome to see you back in the med!
hard times the important thing is to always try 💪💪💪... then the sea is priceless👍 saluti dalla Calabria
A hard but very rewarding place to spear when you land a fish! Awesome video dan!
As a spearo and Italian from atri this is on my bucket list before I see the end of the road.
Nice to see some sun and fish during these winter months

Daniel .it's not easy ! . good job .Ciao 👋
Looks like the conditions i've had when I finally had a chance to dive Dan. Still good stuff mate, looking forward to the next instalment.
Welcome to our seas daniel!
The med could be a bit harsh in the winter, hope to see u fishing here during the summer season!
I have plans for Sicily in the summer 💪
2nd day's visibility was wayyyy better. Thumbs up mate !!! :)
This Mann has gone next level with this latest upload..

Needed this video, good stuff
The Mediterranean looking very fishy as always
As always 😂
Awesome trip
been waiting for this, keep it up!
Captured the REAL trials of a spearfishing trip. Looks tough going, nice one !
Not mentioned was using a 9.5mm jacket on the last day 👀 The struggle of enough space on the weight belt was real!
Yeah that thing looked snug haha. I’d be lucky to hit 10m.
Always great content keep it up 👍
Love the info but ready to see hunt again

Mullet in the Mediterranean are lovely to eat, great for sashimi.
This is what shore diving here in New England looks like right around 2:15 only the water is a bit greener.
Nasty
Love the vids man keep it up, still waiting for that vid in New Zealand 😁 keep it up man love ya
Wow this is amazing skills of yours guys bravo 👏 This looks for me so difficult and impossible 😊 and cold, I hate cold water 😂
Definitely with the fish risotto recipe!

It’s been too long between upload sorry!
I'm wondering: what kind of training do you do, besides freediving, to keep fit and keep your breath as long as possible? Great vids!
Finally another Mediterranean video! Didn’t see many fish but that’s the Mediterranean for you.
Also winter time but going back in the summer too.
Mad vid keep it up

The U.K. has the most fish I’ve seen in Europe outside of Scandinavia.
@@DanielMann yes. I saw some of your videos and it has definitely made me think about going there for some shots.
that is not easy diving and makes me appreciate my home waters in hawaii
Always good to travel to get perspective.
Great video Daniel! When you intend to make noise to maybe bring the fish in, could you use that technique for Seabass and Pollock back in the UK?
My Gamrim Decend is today saying "surface interval 122 days." Daaamn wanna cry. I sooo wanna spearfish again.
No bueno!
I just realized that i was there in summer 2018 . I think the name of the place was Porto Ercole. Really nice place
Great video! From philippines
It is verry similar to our see in Croatia...whole year is like this...
Heading to the Caribbean soon ??? Love watching your videos 💯🙏

Grazie Valentino, perhaps Sicily will be better for me in Summer.
@@DanielMann Sicily is usually much more generous, last year in September I was there and the fishing was very good, even in the shallow

Daniel Mann good stuff look forward to that one day 😀
if not even Jacopo, Giuliano and Giuseppe were able to fish in winter I feel a little more better with my conscience for my poor winter catch
Love the Mediterranean videos!!! Do you plan on spearfishing in Greece one day?
One day for sure!
Really nice video! Thank you! I noticed that you didn't use floats. Why was that?
Just had the boat close by. Floatlines also scare the fish.

Just the GoPro head strap.
How come you keep your O ring on your flopper when your diving?
Stops it moving around and scaring the fish away. Very common practice with Mediterranean spearfishers.
