What a professional production, the narration, the drone footage, the introspection. Felt like I was on a movie set there! What delicious looking friends you made on that adventure.
Your experience, maritime knowledge and sheer courage are showcased in this film Joe. Some great tips about gear, coastal safety and just how easy it is to have fun freediving. You make a catch & cooks look so simple, but they're far from it really! Brilliant film.😋
Mate a water man from the pacific when I say that I mean the entire South Pacific blessed. Moved to UK at 23 from Nz have a family now living in Henley. I had no idea you could hunt and forage a feed catch and cook. I feel reborn thank you brother blessed
get on boi!! back to it. Weather's perfect down my way, spideys n bass in the bag already, back out today. great idea with the 7mm top, its a bit chilly in there with a 5 🥶
Brilliant video Cpt... What amazing scenery and vis. Good job on the narrating aswell, absolutely fantastic. Just watched part 1 and 2 of Isles of Scilly tonight... ansum times 😊 Cheers and gone
I'm a first time visitor to your channel Joe, that looked like a grest day out! Thanks for talking us along. I watched from the comfort of my little boat with a bacon roll and a brew a little bit north of Oban. Best wishes Stae safe. David
Hi Joe! It's been awhile haven't. See you n ur post. Glad I was scrolling here on yt n saw your Chanel. Nice to see you tho. Keep on doing what you love. Tca. Hope to see you in ur nxt video... Jane from 🇵🇭
Nice seafood selection there. That was a long swim. I remember doing a 4hr 30 min round trip on our south coast cliffs once towing an 8lb bass back. When I got to the beach I could not stand I had to sit there for 10 minutes to recover :) Great video again
@@JoePkSpearfishing probably not the boat fishing takes up so much time. I do have to dive the mooring to check it so may go for a look after that but I will have to use tanks for that.
Cool i've never heard of that spit method, yet again i've never dived! That safety warning was so cool too, cheers! The anticipation take was next level as well. You've earned a subscribe and so much more!
I love your videos, Joe. Would love to go on a mission in the sea with you .we're off to the Scillys on Wednesday, wetsuit and snorkel packed. Novice northerner.
Re your comment about a boat. You are 100% right. I have a small rib and although it’s nice to go out with the family a couple of times in the year, 99% of the time when I go spear fishing, I do so by walking/driving to my favourite spots. Boat needs so much more thought and work both before and after that most of the time I just can’t be ars@d.
Very interesting to see that the bottom around the wreck where you picked those scallops is the exactly the same sort of bottom to look for halibut once you’re in the northern part of Norway!
Every summer I spend a month or two alone somewhere in Arctic Norway, usually an desolate island or hiking along the coastline, living off a bag of rice, a bag of onions, a couple of lemons, a few spices and whatever I catch or gather spearfishing. Nice and quiet. By the end of summer I usually visit a friend and we go for bigger halibut. You can do halibut from the shore if you’re in the right place at the right time … been thinkinhg about Scotland for this summer though …
how do you get all that kit down to the rocks ? I mean you even have wellies 😂…have you got an alpaca with saddle bags ? love your videos …bloody hard to be that good 🙌
Yoube earned a like and a subscriber! Keep up the great work and it's nice to see a British fella doing these types of videos and showing the world how beautiful England is ✌️
Beautiful video and commentary. If you are a diver you will understand what Joe means in his words ❤ when you're in the ocean you feel how really small you are and understand the greatness of it. Good job mate keep them coming Ps. I got a good Pollock last weekend a bit bigger than yours and only in 5-6m depth You need to come some day down to Ireland and we can do some diving around Kerry.
Hi Joe, I'm new to the channel, located in sussex. I myself have just got back into free diving and I was wondering if you could do a video in which you explain more about foraging locations, telltale signs and general tips for sustainable sea foraging. Absolutely love the content, scratches the itch when conditions aren't great
i love foraging. usually on shore and beach. well this is different, add spearfishing in it? i'm in. new subs. catch & cook while it fresh absolutely 🔥
Hi Joe. Another great video, thanks. What a varied dive spot. A couple of thoughts. A chef friend of mine said the biggest blunter of knifes is dragging them over chopping boards and suggested always using the back of the knife. For the linguine you made, we use a small amount of the pasta water as it helps bind the sauce and give it a bit of a thicker texture. Look forward to the next video.
Hello from brand new subscriber from USA. I wanted to say what an amazing video; the view (both inside and outside the water), cooking and the information you shared, etc. I really enjoyed it very much; I look forward to watching your other videos. Well done and please keep them coming.
What do I feel like eating today ? Scallops, crab, some lobster. Jumps into the ocean , catches them by hand . Extraordinary
Exactly what I was thinking!
I’m glad you have another friend there with you. You never know what can happen in the ocean.
What fantastic memory's you are making. I used to skin dive in Dorset in the 70's.
One of the best put together videos you've done Joe you've really levelled up the story telling and narration.
Great scenes as always
I agree. Absolutely wonderfull
Thanks boss. MIss our dives together 👌

Thanks for your comment! I've been lucky to spend so much time in the water and gain a lot of knowledge but there is in fact so much always to learn 👌
Oh, man, that's how perfect day looks like.
A very absorbing piece. Good that you quietly add a warning about the dangers, as you make this all look so easy, which it most certainly is not!
As a diver on the north coast of N. California for over 40 years I was impressed with your bottom time.
Those scallops are massive so good great video thanks for sharing
What a blast, those scallops were epic.
Great diving and sea rood
