Seeing how easily Mick scales the ladder on the scaffolding is inspirational. You would never know he is a man of 80. All the Pethericks are looking very fit now. Keep up doing whatever you’re doing as it is paying dividends!
That reciprocating saw looks insignificant but, my, it's a "cracking" tool....! With regards to the "overkill" comment, it's merely re-purposing on-site materials and the only thing it's cost your team is your time, labour and a number of new saw blades! Time well spent.
At the :53s mark, Yannis secures the ladder to the scaffolding. Then the master climbs the ladder. This has me weeping because of the kindness, respect, and admiration that everyone here has for each other. Seriously, Gwen, et al can write a series of family books.
Well done Billy. I think most of us recognise how hard this work is and how crucial getting it right is going to be. Well done on the 400,000 subscribers. 😄
So amazing to see how well your dad is at getting up and down ladders. Inspiring to say the least! Yanis has come a long way from first we met him! Thank you Billy and to Simon for having the grace to teach and assist him. I am just in awe of your accomplishments. ❤🪚🔨 great work!
Billy- As always a pleasure to follow along on this amazing library project and the phenomenal Team. So happy that on this Friday you all had a lighter workload and hopefully get some much needed rest before you all Crack On next week. 👏🏼🥰🙏🏼♥️💪🏼⭐️
I know that each country is different with their codes and what not but what you are doing there is going to be beautiful and usable as well. I am glad that you are re-using everything you possibly can because that means you don't have to scrimp so much later for other materials. Have a wonderful day and everyone has done a great job!
11:54 wow another great video, Mick and Yannis as usual are a great team, and you Billy so brilliant informing us on all the up and coming work that is essential to making this Library a wonderful addition like the Kitchen to your beautiful Convent.
Wow - We can clearly see the sagging of the ceiling in the library. You all are such hard workers and you work together well as a team. Very fun to watch!
So much progress guys. You are all doing a great job and it's really lovely to see how much Janis is learning and coming out of his shell. He was very shy and quiet in the begining and now he is much more relaxed and easy going. Awesome.
Oh that beautiful ceiling with it's grand organ patiently waiting in the wings for another tour of grandeur...we all await your next vision with anxious eyes...amazing work Billy(and crew)...!!!
Another interesting video Billy you deserve a day off amount hours you put in How you plan and organise everything is incredible we will still be here waiting for when you send the next chapter🎉
It IS fun! And rewarding to renovate. We (my husband and I) renovated several properties in a ski area and when we sold we tripled our investment. So heck yes, it's fun.
I discovered your channel yesterday and have been binging your content since then. It is incredible what you are accomplishing with that beautiful old convent. I’m looking forward to the day it’s finished.
I like you explaining the 'excigeances' in France and your consulting an Ingeneer and architect. I all along was convinced of that anyways. I am so muchloking forward to the 'suite des choses' and will be happy to see you and Simon work together again. Yanis is simply a Marvel! and by the way, thanks to you I realized OmG! it is Friday OmG!
3:17 curious what will be used to support that beam since I believe this will be the dining room? Figure the other beam the steel was removed from will be supported by a load bearing wall dividing wall from the library to dining room. Congrats on the 400k and have a great weekend everyone.
I was wondering about government meddeling, permits and inspections etc. Glad you can Crack On as you seem to be doing an amazing job. Looking slim and trim too! 👵
Dear Billy. Great music today, as always really! Congratulations on reaching 400k. It couldn't happen to a better person. Looking forward to you reaching 1m. When you are old and grey and wander through your memories........always remember the skills you have given to Yannis. I thank you for that. Warmest wishes. Pam
Billy, you need to take the time you need to plan. You have such an amazing vision but you need the time and space to bring it all together properly. Don’t worry about us! We are privileged to come along for the ride. In awe, from Victoria, BC, Canada
Well done, try blowing all air through your grinders and saw, it could also be dust and filings gathering around the motor. I’ve recently gone through 2 because I didn’t do this.
The work you’re doing and the time you’re taking to get it right on a 250 year-old building is amazing because most people would never get it right but you are
Alex Alex, I was missing you about music, your choice make me feel and then I adore the job at the Convent......From New Mexico USA I'll send you congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!
Yay, congrats on the 400K Billy and crew. I can't wait to see the last steel beam installed. We are recycling what we have inherited from our old house, LOL, even though our house is young compared to the Convent
You are SO fortunate to not have to deal with all the inspections, plan reviews etc. we have to here in the states. It is ALL about money over here. They really don’t care about safety. The majority of inspectors have no idea what they are even looking at. Congratulations on 405,000 plus subscribers!!
Billy, you seem to have picked an ideal size for the library floor opening. Those upper windows are hardly obscured at all, drawing the eye 'heavenward.' I imagine a dome is nagging you at this point. It's so nice seeing this take shape. Thanks for sharing the process.
Of course you consult with engineers Billy you’re a wise person and a real professional. What you have done is excellent, I wouldn’t have thought it was overkill. It’s a big building and it has to be done safely. Enjoy your day taking measurements and enjoy your weekend time that you do have, blessings to all your team 👏👏💝💝💝🇦🇺
With those beams your saw, and blades, might appreciate an occasional squirt of oil on the beam/blade to keep the blade cooler and reduce the friction just a bit, making the motor's job a little easier.
You might have already seen it but I thought you might find Gladstones Library in North Wales inspirational. There are films about it on here. Really reminds me of the convent and your library project.
Congrats on 400,000 subscribers!!!!!!!
I only joined this week but I can say I was here before 400k 😀
I been following The Pethericks so long now I feel like I'm part of the family. Crack On Billy also love to Gwendolene and the boys xx
Woohoo!!
Congrats Billy! 🎉
🎉YAHOO way to go Billy and crew Billy you deserve this 👍🏻
Seeing how easily Mick scales the ladder on the scaffolding is inspirational. You would never know he is a man of 80. All the Pethericks are looking very fit now. Keep up doing whatever you’re doing as it is paying dividends!
Oh I know! Love those Petherick men! ❤

I look forward to your videos every day, but I hope you will still keep showing the progress at the Chateau's kitchen as well as the Convent.

Not quite, it’s only 400,000 not 4000,000 but still quite an accomplishment!
@@kathrynwitte3398 I think you knew it was a typo. Really!
I fixed my typo 400,000 here. It is nice to see this channel grow.
@@rustygatecottage9061 I’m a proofreader; I know nothing of the sort. Really!
Take your day, Billy ,it's all going well. 😊🏴
That little machine is a BEAST!
Bit rude calling Yanis a beast. ;)

Happy weekend everyone ❤ to all fathers happy fathers day
Crazy seeing such massive beams moved around 🤯
You’d think they’d need a crane or something lol so cool
I love how Jannis says “let’s crack on” with his lovely French accent ❤🇨🇦
In the US your renovation would be a historical landmark. Which means a lot of hoops to jump through. Historical is the key word.
It’s my 44 th wedding anniversary. I told my husband I needed to watch your video today. Then we can start cooking our anniversary dinner. Ha!
Congratulations 🎉
The magnificent team of workers.
Billy, you have earned a day "messing around". You and your team are producing a masterpiece in my books! Take the time to breathe.
More than a day, taking breaks is important ❤️

You are looking great Billy!😊
Yes he is and I have asked what it is he is doing because I would love to see if I can follow the same plan.
It IS fun! And rewarding to renovate. We (my husband and I) renovated several properties in a ski area and when we sold we tripled our investment. So heck yes, it's fun.

If you are referring to the sagging oak beam, I think he is going to brace it and clade it in oak.😊
❤ thanks for the video, I feel like I'm on the ground floor of something beautiful
Thank you for the clarification on the question I left reference the permits and inspections. Excellent work and thanks for all you are doing.
Love the thumb nail pic! What to do while waiting for the saw to cool down - play with the smoke machine
Billy ,
Take your Time ! We will wait don’t hurry yourself, sometimes Life gets in the way Billy.

Agree!
Every time I see those large pieces of beam you removed I think they would make lovely art museum style bench seating somewhere in the Convent.
I am glad the gallery isn’t going to be bouncy 😀👏🏼

YAY! After a week of binge watching, I’m finally up to date on the videos and waiting for a new one!
SO EXCITING !!!!! love love love the convent !
I never cease to marvel at Mick’s involvement at 80 in the rigorous building events at the chateau. Amazing fellow!
With those beams your saw, and blades, might appreciate an occasional squirt of oil on the beam/blade to keep the blade cooler and reduce the friction just a bit, making the motor's job a little easier.
You’re not the first to suggest this. I wish he would listen.

Never overkill, you have been extra cautious and that’s never a bad thing. Congratulations on 400 thousand subs.
