Michael needs to write another book and illustrate on baby owls misadventures. Perhaps all the animals getting together to have a party at night in the convent.
You can always have the little owl hunt for the mouse, and then tell how the mouse trapped the owl in the drain, and only released him after they became friends.
Be worthwhile to make some wire frame animal guards to fit over those, prevent anything large enough to get stuck from getting the genius idea to treat it like a burrow and go down.
Advice about owls could be given by local wildlife rescue. They usually have volunteers that care for orphaned or young. At least they could give helpful information, ways to tell if it needs food or is dehydrated. It seems to be getting the flight skills at least. The mother should continue to bring it food.
It has been incredible watching the progression of your projects over the past few years! The quality of craftsmanship you all put into your renovations and new construction would make the original builders of the convent proud. Appreciative of your work from across the pond.
It just struck me! Yanis has been an apprentice, & now fully a craftsman, WHILE BEING FILMED!?!?! That takes a special kind of person. Great video! Welcome back, Alex! Billy can spend much more time renovating & we get all the variety of a videographer who doesn't have to keep moving the camera for ANY different angle.
What an amazing amount of years of superb craftsmanship in one room! Welcome back, Alex! It's always lovely to see Mick. And Yanis and Billy are a great team. The Gallery looks amazing!!!!
That owl must be young. He's getting into tight spots all the time. If you have to rescue him again you should contact the Moons. They'll take care of him. They are sweet angels like you.
Alex thought he was filming The Pethericks not animal planet 😂 but well done yet again for rescuing the owl, last year a baby crow, this year a little owl, we need a picture of Archie with the owl then the boys will have their own special photo of the birds Dad saved ❤ Thank you Alex for returning to film for Billy, he loves working not just filming so I am sure he will be non stop while you are there filming, I also love the longer videos. I went straight to your channel yesterday and subscribed and ended up watching all your videos, it will be so interesting seeing behind the scenes at the Pethericks 😁 Thank you everyone for all your hard work, Mick is an absolute trooper, Yanis seems to pick up everything he is taught, what a bonus he is and now, Alex giving us longer videos, definitely looking forward to the next month ❤❤

Welcome back Alex! Yay! Papa Mick is brave for sticking his hand in the drain 😮 So happy the baby owl is ok! Great progress today? Well done team! 💛🙏🏼💛
Great to see Alex back. The camera work and editing is clearly excellent. Doesn't hurt to have great canine supervision for the construction work as well as the camera work. Well done. Crack on.
Great assembly line you have there with Yanis and your dad. Having Alex there to film really helps you gt more done! Love the little owl. Hope you are able to take it home and give it someplace safe to live.
Hey Alex you did a great job of getting B-roll shots of the chimney when they were talking about it, instead of trying to panic zoom on the fly lol. I much prefer it that way because it just gets more detail. Hope you keep that part up especially for the bits when Billy is explaining things. Appreciate the Yannis cam 🖖
The doggie following you and Yannis around is absolutely adorable!!!! Poor owl just doesn't know what to do with itself. Feed it something since mama can't.
For the little owl, try contacting the LPO (ligue de protection des oiseaux) or also, to call a vet to ask if there is any associations specialized in bird care
Billy, here’s an odd thought. You are making quite a bit of scraps of wood while doing this framing project when my dad passed a couple of years ago I collected scraps from his woodshop and I painted little Christmas pictures and then gave them to my kids as presents that year. Maybe you could save decent size pieces paint scenes on them and sell them on the website as souvenirs of the convent to your fans.
The owl is too cute, is there any way you can fit a mesh over the hole at the top so at least the rain comes through but the owl will not continue to find its way in?
@thepethericks Even just a spare scrap of chickenwire you can weigh down until you find a more long-term solution would work, just so long as it’s small enough the owl won’t fit through. Having to put screens over gutters and chimneys to keep birds out is pretty common where I’m from, they do love to get in everywhere.
Wonderful idea! Yeah for Yaniscam! The gallery is progressing so quickly! Before you know it the floor will all be done and onto the demo for the upstairs rooms. The owl is too precious! Your dad pulling it out so easily makes me wonder how wild it is. Encourage the owls to stick around. You won't have any problems with rats and rodents!
The owl is most likely looking for a hollow tree trunk for nesting. If there are none around the down spout will have to suffice. So you need to provide them a couple of suitable hollow pieces of tree trunks tied next to a real tree trunk, high enough. It needs to have a bottom for a floor and some kind of roof too, entrance close to the roof. In return the owls will keep you rodent free.
Petherick wildlife rescue swings into action again. Mick - please knock up a little owl nesting box, so he doesn't have to keep making you all shove your hands into the pipework! Hooty McHootface needs a home. Great amount of progress everyone. 😃
Watching this work being done , I am in awe as to the care you take to make it so perfect. It shows great craftsmanship and passion for the project. Things used to be built to last forever if cared for correctly. Your craftsmanship is doing the convent proud!
Great with Alex back to do the videos. Maybe make a nesting box with some of the scrap wood for the owlet. It is probably looking for beetles and bugs in the damp drains.
Screens on all the down spouts. Otherwise, you may have to change the channel name to the Feathericks.
😂

Well now that's a HOOT! LOL

"Dad, stick your hand in the pipe".
Papa Mick's smile after he caught the owl was great!
If I was your Dad I’d be like “no you stuck your hand in that pipe!” Lol
Hilarious! Cracked me up, not on.
I love how he yanked his hand back when he felt its feet before putting it back in and pulling it out!
He’s just trying to deliver your hogwarts letter 😂
Haha! Yes! One of my favorite scenes in Harry Potter movies!

Please, Michael needs to make a painting of the little owl, name him, and write us a beautiful story that he does so well, please?!?!?!
That's a superb idea just like he did with the little mouse in the organ.
Exactly what I was going to say!
What a fabulous idea! Come on Michael you can do it. ❤

Maybe she's gotten to the point her lesson is "GET OUT AND STAY OUT!!!"😂
Kudos rescuing the owl again!
I think it s a rebellious teenageowl he knows the guys will rescue him ❤❤❤❤❤😊 Wonderful job ❤
Billy you should get Brico to sponsor you. You promote that company on every video you make. Well done saving the owl population
I believe it's been mentioned that they do.
Maybe temporarily put a little mesh over the gutter
Loved it when your dad caught the little owl! Just beautiful.
The owl enjoyed the last rescue he just had to do it again, what a great mascot!
That owl had no fear of Janis or your Dad! I second a painting and a story by Michael. :)

Scrunch up chicken wire into a ball and plug the top of the drainpipe. Let’s water in and keeps debris and little owls out.
