Not sure if you're still active, but quick question: First, I was happy to see your AIO mounted vertically on the side of the case, instead of top. I also noticed you're pulling air through the rad from the three fans inside. So, how are you filtering air on the outside that's entering the rad? (I couldn't see back side) And more importantly, do you think there's any benefit doing push/pull there? I have Corsair AR120s and the AL120V2s, BUT I have room to install three static TL-B12Ws onto the rad side facing out (and ofc the reg flow fans on the other side that you see inside case). It's a roomy case, the 5000D RGB airflow, and well I guess I wanna move a lot of air :) Thank you for video and reading. p.s. Just noticed your AIO is NZXT just like mine lol. Guess il experiment with NZXT's controller, the Corsair fans and Lian Li controller, hah.
Well they do. If they didn't interconnect, you'd have wires for every single fan. The multi hub connector is ubiquitous for all advanced computer fan packages. One way or another, the fans need to communicate. Also, when fans are interlinked, they act as one unit and only need a single comm and power. So yes, the Lian Li design saves a lot of wires. And there's even a lawsuit on other companies using their design IP

Air from inside the radiator will travel up. Right into that CPU pump. It's going to get pretty hot in there. ALWAYS make sure the radiator hose ports are ABOVE the CPU pump.
@BuildsWithV Wrong. Over time, water evaporates. Even in a sealed radiator. Air rises. Right through the same tubes the water ran through. Strait to the pump. Your asking for trouble.
@@BlitzGeist yes the water evaporates but the air stays inside the radiator. If you’re telling me that the air can come all the way down through the radiator and into the pump then the air will have no issue making it down the tubes and back into the radiator. The problem with these fans is the cable for the controller hub is too short. There are no longer cables available that I’ve found. I’ve emailed Lian Li multiple times asking about longer cables and they won’t respond.

Just use the extra cables from the 3 pack to connect them all to one controller. For the 10th fan you can plug it separately or buy another v2 cable from the 3 pack.

@@BuildsWithV you’re right, my bad, I thought the fans you were installing were for a radiator. My bad
@@FernandoFranco-j8r oh no you’re all good, many people have commented the same things on multiple videos 😅 it’s a common mistake and my goal is always to help
i noticed with the hub you didn't connect the fan header cable, is that because you just use the usb port/l connect 3 to manage it all?
with perhaps the radiator fans you let it manage via radiator apps
Yeah that’s correct, I just use l connect to control the top, bottom and rear fans. The 3 fans in the radiator is plugged into the nzxt pump to control those separately from l connect in case I have issues with l connect at least those 3 cpu fans will continue to work.
Would you know if the (single) SLV2 fans can be connected to the SLV1 hub? since the single fans use the 4pin pwm and 3pin argb similar to the SLV1
yeah they do work on the slv1 hub. I tried it
Can you daisy chain 3 triple pack and 1 single one together?
The most you can daisy chain is 6. So 2 triple packs
@@BuildsWithV thx
@@BuildsWithV so if I get one of those nzxt connectors would it work?
@@Andrew-ky7nj oh I thought you meant in a single row. One controller will support all you fans no problem.
Did you plug the lian li fans on your Z73 aio into the rear box?
I did not, I plugged them into a fan header to have separate control of the fan speed
Hey bro can you mix the slack and white ones together ? Thinking about getting white ones and putting them inbetween the black ones
Black*
Yes you can
Hi, is "SYS_FAN" Same as "CHA_FAN" In prime z790-a wifi?
Yeah it’s the same
When I connect the fans via 4 pin cable for aio to the motherboard, will Lconnect3 still able to detect the fans?
nope
Why are you pluggin it into usb 2 on the usb stands "usb" not "usb 2"?
USB and USB 2.0 is the same port. USB 3 is different
very helpful
Do you know when the 3 pack will go on sale?
Unfortunately I do not. Not really sure if they’ll go on sale at all but check around for sure during this month.
@@BuildsWithV alright thank you! I love the vids btw :D
@@baileyyp thanks so much 🙏
Hey what's the pink case in the back
Same case as mine. It’s the 011D evo that I painted and modified
how did you mod the glass for this case?
do you need the controller to intall the fans?
The 3 pack comes with the controller which is what you’ll need to install the fans. The single packs some with standard connectors which means you technically can plug them in without the controller
I've accidentally made all my fans exhaust, since the logos are all facing inside the case
Hi .. do I need sata cable when installing single pack to motherboard, say two sl 140 fans joined together ...
Nope, just use the included cables from the single pack to connect to your motherboard
@@BuildsWithV thanks , easy install 👍
The problem with these fans is the cable for the controller hub is too short. There are no longer cables available that I’ve found. I’ve emailed Lian Li multiple times asking about longer cables and they won’t respond.
😂
😂😂 they sending your emails to the spam folder
how do u connect 5 set of fans to 1 controller? sl 120 infinity uni and 2 140 sl140 uni
You’ll have to use the included piggy back cable and basically just make a set of 6 instead of just 3
Kinda late but need help. Got the 3 fans hooked up and connected to the hub. Huh connected to SATA and USB2. Still no spin or rgb. Help please
Have you installed the software? If not, try that. If you have and still not working, try updating the firmware inside the software
@@BuildsWithV thank u
Is it okay to plug my aio fans (SL120 on aio from diff brand) into the controller and control them through l connect? I don't have the cable from the single fan pack
Yeah you can.
@@BuildsWithV thanks for the fast reply! Really good vid wish u the best
@@oxorade979 No problem at all. Thanks for watching 🙏
I just realizee these only have the rgb on the edges...:/ I bought 3 packs -_-
what case is it
@@GeloWoof lian li 011d evo
i dont understand why i got a pack of three fans and a bunch of one pack for a total of ten fans, are the three pack fan are different then the solo fan because i cant plugs them together. i got two freakin different controller, so i can only plug one controller to my motherboard. im freaking out spending all that money for nothing
Just use the extra cables from the 3 pack to connect them all to one controller. For the 10th fan you can plug it separately or buy another v2 cable from the 3 pack.
it works like: 1 cable with max 4 fans in a row. not more :/ if u want more fans connected, u need a second cable. for example 3 fans 1 cable and 2 other fans with one more cable
You can daisy chain up to 6 fans with these fans.
just thank
You never showed how to screw it up I am struggling so much:(
Savior
hurts to see that radiator upside down.................
Tip for those who did not buy a full lian li setup yet! DON'T! CABLE HELL!
That AIO is upside down. The cables from the radiator need to be higher than the CPU. You’re creating air bubbles which could cause damages.
That’s not correct. Air bubble can’t make it to the pump with this setup
@@BuildsWithV I mean all the testing is there to prove it. But I’m just letting everyone know.
@@OkayGonzo_ what testing? Did you do any research because you’ll find very quickly that this is actually one of the best ways to install it to avoid any air getting in the pump.

1:35 didn’t connect for me
Is it just me or the lian li cables comes out very easily! :((
Those cables are way too short
Honestly Lian-li fumbled this design. The daisy chain cables can only really go in one direction, it really should have been reversible.
It goes in just one direction but you can take the cover off the connector and flip the cable to be facing a different direction
Would you be able to explain how you would flip the connector end of the daisy cable to make it go in the same direction you did? I have been trying to figure out what you mean, and I honestly can't. I really appreciate it as I'm working on my build today.
You've spent big bucks on your computers, now you should spend some money on a microphone and some sound dampening for recording.
Clean your mobo bro lmao
Yeah I noticed that while editing. Doesn’t look dirty at all in person. Close up it looks filthy 😅
@BuildsWithV hahaha like a desert. Good video though 💪
This did not help at all I have one fan that I want to install on the side like yours and I tried to use left over parts from another pack and it did not work
Your AOI is installed the worst way possible, with the tubes in the bottom.
