One important note regarding connecting the Lian Li connector the the breakout connection on the NZXT Kraken (at approx 18:50): You do not want to connect to the last connection in the daisy chain (as you did), you instead want to connect to the first one. If you look at the breakout connection on the NZXT Kraken, only the first of the three has all four pins. The tach pin is missing from the other two headers. If you hook up the connection as shown in this video, your Kraken controller will never get an accurate report on the speed of the fans. It is set to automatically assume all 3 fans are the same and have the same (or close enough) tach readings, but without that first fan plugged into the first plug with the tach pin you will get improper fan speeds that can cause heat transfer issues or even potential fan damage from spinning beyond their rated RPM.

Getting mine soon this video is a lifesaver. Just bought the o11 evo rgb. I was planning on keeping my corsair fans but I’m fed up with corsair cable mess! Time for a change
except the V2 fans dont come with that V2 connector into the two seperate plug ins for the AIO? You have to buy a single fan to get that cable or what?
I start my first build today when my AIO [last piece] arrives! I have these fans [in black] so this is VERY helpful! My laptop's browsers is filled with instruction guides. XD Very excited to begin!
Thanks for making this so clear. You answered my question i left in a comment in another video. With the kraken you can power the fans with the breakout fan cable so the aio software can control the rad fans. So with the kraken you don't have to power the rad fans with the cpu fan header. Thanks!
Já procurei vários videos aqui no brasil com essa explicação aí não encontrei em nenhum video, até que fim encontrei a melhor explicação muito bem organizado esse vídeo meus parabéns.❤
Purchased it and got the cable but even then I cant seem to figure out how to let the AIO control my array of 3 Lian li fans I see near the end of the video it asks me the plug it into the 3 fan splitter but I cant see where that plugs into
Really appreciate your videos. You do a good job of covering topics thoroughly and it is a valuable resource. It really helped me to install the Lian Li controller properly to my motherboard connections.
Great video. Really helpful. I do wish you included a tutorial section on what to do if you were to use the NZXT AIO fans too for a Push-Pull config with these fans. That's what I was planning on doing with my planned build so I was actually wondering how that would work with 10 unifans.
yup, same doubt. If someone has lian li fans for top and bottom row that he can control with the lian li hub, then what if someone also wants to use the NZXT rgb fans comes with the AIO?? Do u need NZXT hub for that or directly control it through motherboard?
Can you change the direction of rotation of the fans or do you simply have to turn the fans? And which fans should blow in which direction if I use the NZXT H9 Flow Case? Im a beginner and don't know much about PCs Thank you for the helpful video!
Do you have any suggestions for oc/uv ? I have a 7800x3d and a 7900xtx on a msi b650 edge. I play warzone on 1440p settings for higher fps. I played on steam for a week and I recently switched to battlenet. I had constant issues with steam. No problems so far with battlenet. I tried implementing some oc/uv from some youtubers I watched. My computer crashed again and again. I set it all back to default. It was disappointing.
Great video! The 3 pack does not come with a cable with 2 connections on the end of it to connect to theIs there anyway to connect the 3pack of uni fans to be controlled by the AIO pump if you never got the one pack?
Think I will do a full set of AL V2 fans for the next build, case and 2x AIO and the new hub makes hooking up fans really easy, but then once you want to ensure CPU/GPU AIO has the right control it gets sketchy. The software can drive them from the hub based on CPU/GPU temp and that might be great, but then you have to trust that hub and software to run the fans, and I wonder what happens in bios, or with an OS that doesnt run the software. So you might want to run those fans off the headers on the motherboard for hardware control instead. But then you lose all that easy setup of the hub by having to split/break everything up. So with the pass-thru from the hub to the motherboard that goes to a fan header and RGB header if using the single cable connection, do those work full time in passing thru motherboard info in those situations that the software is not running? Else I will just do what you did in the last example and use the break out cable to the AIO fan control and a Sync port. The loss here is a Sync port is not a group that can be individually controlled in the RGB software.
Whenever I click "PWM" in Fan Mode on L-Connect Software my fans just ramp up to 100%. I have the PWM Cable from my CPU AIO Fans plugged into the CPU_Fan Header on my motherboard, like you have done @16:50
F**king awesome! F**king, f**king, f**king GREAT! I'm getting ready for my next build and I have ten AL 120s, three of which are going on a Kraken Z73! This is perfect. I get it. Super easy to follow. You're the man! Thank you!
16:38 VERY IMPORTANT! This sounds like a good idea but before I attempt to do this setup, I’d like to point something out. So I’ve got the Kraken X63 280mm Cooler. Which used 2x 140mm Fans. I’m using the Lian Li UNI FAN SL140’s on it for the radiator. Each fan runs “0.65 Amp’s” which 0.65 x2 = “1.3 Amps.” This is overcurrent for my motherboard’s fan headers as the manual shows all headers run maximum “1.0 Amp.” So by doing this configuration, how will pulling “0.30” Amp’s overcurrent safe? EDIT: So I assume at 18:33, I’m supposed to do this configuration? As the breakout cable basically allows you to connect your AIO fans to the NZXT Pump itself, which controls the fan speeds? This does seem a lot safer for power instead of the other configuration which would be powering 2 fans off of a small fan header. EDIT 2: So based on my research and the video, the NZXT Kraken Z73 has the breakout cable and fans Daisy Chain splitter attached. But… with the NZXT Kraken X63 it does not have it attached to the breakout cable. Very odd. OH! I wanted to point something out, in the video of you plugging in the daisy chained breakout cable, you just put it into the furthest connector(the third) instead of the first one, you should plug that into the first connection. You probably know this but didn’t realize it in the video.
From what I understand CPU_FAN will generally allow more power than a standard sys fan header. After all it's designed to power CPU tower coolers and beefy AIO coolers. That's my understanding. My experience is I've used multiple Lian Li fans on 360mm rads in different builds with this logic with no issue at all. To make that clear - multiple different types of fans, different rads, different motherboards. All without issue. If you're worried though, just use the controller instead.
@@TheProvokedPrawn Thanks for the fast reply. Could you check my edit I did to my comment? Using breakout cable to control fan speeds because it’s powered by the pump VS a header.
Hi, thank you for the video. I just installed mine. I have a question. Maybe you can assist? On the dashboard the fans are dissapearing. They are in and out and I cannt do any changes. Any ideas? Thank u
I know this was explained in the video but I'm still going to ask just for the peace of mind. I'm buying 2 packs of 3 for my Lian Li LANCOOL II-X case. I'm planning to have 3 fans at the front of my PC, 2 at the top, and 1 at the back. Am I able to connect both packs of 3 onto 1 controller? Also - how many or what cables are there that come with the pack of 3? Am I able to have 3 different cables running from the controller to the back, top and front fans? Or should I be doing some daisy chaining? If i am to chain the fans together - Should try to daisy chain the front and top fans, or the top and back fan?
Please tell me where you are getting These cables that you use to connect 1 to 3 fans at the 13 minute mark? I need this cable. I don’t have it.. I’ve bought “2” 3 packs plus a gillahd 360 plus a single… in total I have 13 fans
Super informative definite subscribe. One question, I bought a single fan that did not come with that splitter cable to link to AIO and control box. I can’t find it online. Do you have a link or a workaround for that? Thanks.
So I have these fans and a NZXT kraken cooler and I want the cooler to control my fans speed on it but I don’t have that cable splitter it’s just one single white braided cable with the flat long end that goes into the control hub
Hello! If I’m also planning this, should I buy three 3packs and 1 solo. Or should I buy one 3packs, and 8 solo? What’s more better? i’m going with this setup and going to be using the H9 Flow.
Amazing videos! May I ask how you can handle 3 different controllers from lian li? I have one AIO galahad, one LCD, and one for strimmer lights? none of them can plug into each other as is
your video helped immensely! thank you! IDK why your SL infinity fans different than mine.. my fans only have the connection that you can slide over the top and only go directly to the 4 ports, they can't connect into the other fans other than through connecting them together as a single unit, I don't seem to be able to connect two, and a third with a different cable. Nor do I seem to have any of the cables to use the sync 2/4 ports..
I'm using this same Asus Rog strix X670E motherboard and I'm confused about rather or not Lconnect 3 can sync with the RGB lighting built into the motherboard. Did you cover that, and I may have missed it?
So im a bit stuck and can’t find any videos on it. I have an aio rog Ryujin I and I’m using the infinity fans would I connect the fans to the rog box for the aio or could I plug the aio into a Lian li box thank you great video btw
Are the spare connection cables that come with the 3 pack of 120mm fans interchangeable with the 140mm fans ? I want to link a set of 3x 140mm fans with a set of 2x 140mm fans for intake, and a set of 3x 120mm with a single 120mm for exhaust & using the control box provided in the 3pack of 120 fans.
I am getting six of the reverse fans and they have to be bought separately would I just link 3 and 3 and use the wires from the regular 3 fan pack to link to the controller?
as bad as I want to do the switch from the jumbles corsair mess of fan cables. Everything is working fine and I feel like I would want to upgrade my fans to another corsair fan just to avoid the headache of switching. even though it doesn't look too hard. I wish I really wanted to.
Thank you for this video! One question, does the direction or set up matter for RGB direction lighting? Can the software set it up so that the direction is consistent and does not skip around like the older SL fans?
Loved the video. The only problem I'm having is that I've swapped my AIO fans for the SL-INF 120 fans but the rgb connector doesn't fit in the sync portion of the controller. I'm trying to come up with a solution.
Excellent explanation of everything, however I still have an issue. I got the AL 120v2 fans and I’m trying to install them on my ASUS ROG RYUO 3 AIO and I don’t have screws long enough to connect the fans to it. It says 33.8mm screws are included but none came with it.
The cable you hooked into the pump and into the sync on the fan controller. Does it have a name for it , I don't have that cable . So the 3 fans I have on the radiator I can't sync to the other 7 fans I have. I have the 120 infinity fans .

Thanks! Glad you liked it.
I am literally preparing for a Lian Li recase, and I couldn't have asked for a better video! SUBBED
Glad I could help!
Lian Li recommends using 2 separate sata lines from psu for powering controller. Read that yesterday in researching my new rig. Btw I want to thank you and all thew channels like yours showing step by step info. I get really into this shit every 6ish years, finish a build and then im out of the loop. When it comes to build time again I feel like im cluelessly starting over from scratch with all that ive forgotten coupled with the tech catch up.
Thank you. Building my first pc at 38 years old and literally understanding nothing is very stressful. I don’t know how I’m ever gonna build this thing haha I’m too picky
I am here to help :) Check out this playlist! ruclips.net/video/5BIeKjRT3rI/видео.html
i'm currently planning out a my second pc build sinc eit's been 5 years since my first. decided to go the lian li route, but was scared i'd lack connectivity, but this video perfectly explained everything i was concerned about and now i'm all set. this was the perfect video on this topic 🖤🖤
Getting mine soon this video is a lifesaver. Just bought the o11 evo rgb. I was planning on keeping my corsair fans but I’m fed up with corsair cable mess! Time for a change
Glad I could help!
This video at least gave me an idea of how it works. Gotta rewatch a thousands times to get it completely.

except the V2 fans dont come with that V2 connector into the two seperate plug ins for the AIO? You have to buy a single fan to get that cable or what?
I start my first build today when my AIO [last piece] arrives! I have these fans [in black] so this is VERY helpful! My laptop's browsers is filled with instruction guides. XD Very excited to begin!
Coherent and very well explained. The best discription on hooking up the V2. Well done and thx!
Thanks Dave, hope you enjoyed enough to sub
Thanks for making this so clear. You answered my question i left in a comment in another video. With the kraken you can power the fans with the breakout fan cable so the aio software can control the rad fans. So with the kraken you don't have to power the rad fans with the cpu fan header. Thanks!
I dont even have these fans but your video was so well done I had to watch it all. Thanks for helping me make informed purchases!
Very kind. Thank you Chris
I just watched your video on NZXT f120s. Their setup is so much more confusing. These LIAN Li fans are way more logical and straightforward.
Yes. Lian Li makes life much easier with wiring.
Já procurei vários videos aqui no brasil com essa explicação aí não encontrei em nenhum video, até que fim encontrei a melhor explicação muito bem organizado esse vídeo meus parabéns.❤
Rr😮t😅
Great job explaining the fans on the AIO. It helped me determine the best cooling performance
I didnt get the cable you showed for the AIO cooler option, the cable with 2 connections on it. Does that come only with a single fan ?
Yes
Purchased it and got the cable but even then I cant seem to figure out how to let the AIO control my array of 3 Lian li fans I see near the end of the video it asks me the plug it into the 3 fan splitter but I cant see where that plugs into
Thorough video, exactly what I needed, thank you for taking the time to complete this
Thanks for watching. Subscribe for more useful content!
Really appreciate your videos. You do a good job of covering topics thoroughly and it is a valuable resource. It really helped me to install the Lian Li controller properly to my motherboard connections.
Glad to help. Thanks for watching and for leaving a nice comment
Very helpful and well done video above all considering that in the box of fans you don't have very explicit instructions. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
You made the greatest possible video for these fans, THANK YOU SO MUCH 🙏
Glad you liked it. Hope you enjoyed enough to subscribe 🦐
Yea what he said answer that question
Thankyou very much for this video youve made my life alot easier this weekend when im installing these to my new build
So I got the 360 Galahad and I'm swapping those for V2s which are in my case already. Glad you had this video. It let me know it was possible!
Glad I could help!
I have a question, can I connect sl120 v2 and sl140 v2 in the same controller at the same time?
Can you change the direction of rotation of the fans or do you simply have to turn the fans?
And which fans should blow in which direction if I use the NZXT H9 Flow Case?
Im a beginner and don't know much about PCs
Thank you for the helpful video!

Thank you!
The video helped me a lot
Thanks for the video. I just now got my mobo synced with all my lian li fans. Works perfectly!

The 2 connect cable for aio fan did you have to buy that sperate
You might need to set the fan header to PWM mode in the bios.
@@TheProvokedPrawn I just tried that but it didn't fix it unfortunately
F**king awesome! F**king, f**king, f**king GREAT! I'm getting ready for my next build and I have ten AL 120s, three of which are going on a Kraken Z73! This is perfect. I get it. Super easy to follow. You're the man! Thank you!
Glad to help!
I’ve watched the same concept video like 4-5 times now and this is the first video that made sense.😭😭 thank you .
That's how I do things 👍🏼
Building a new PC soon and this setup is exactly what I needed thanks.

Super helpful and just the level of detail I was looking for. Thank you!
Thanks for explaining it. Very frustrating is that there are no Reverse Blade Tripple Pack...
Each fan runs “0.65 Amp’s” which 0.65 x2 = “1.3 Amps.” This is overcurrent for my motherboard’s fan headers as the manual shows all headers run maximum “1.0 Amp.”
So by doing this configuration, how will pulling “0.30” Amp’s overcurrent safe?
Using breakout cable to control fan speeds because it’s powered by the pump VS a header.
u answered all the question i asked myself about this topic, thanks alot!
Happy to help!
Hi, thank you for the video. I just installed mine. I have a question. Maybe you can assist? On the dashboard the fans are dissapearing. They are in and out and I cannt do any changes. Any ideas? Thank u
if u buy the 3 pack can i disconnect and use the other 1 another place
Lian li is best in argb fans and case 🔥
Yes. 4 cables per triple pack. 4 fans port port. 16 max
What screws did you use? The long screws that came with the fans aren't long enough to attach to the radiator
The ones that come with the AIO
Help. Where i can find the cable at 16:36 of the video? I have the pack with 3 but this one is not there 😢. Great video!!
Please tell me where you are getting These cables that you use to connect 1 to 3 fans at the 13 minute mark? I need this cable. I don’t have it.. I’ve bought “2” 3 packs plus a gillahd 360 plus a single… in total I have 13 fans
Thank you very much, your video helped me to make my own PC!
This was my first time, it was difficult to make LED fan system.
But I did it!
Glad I could help!
I bought Lian Li AIO Galahad and it has different controller with like regular connections.
Super informative definite subscribe. One question, I bought a single fan that did not come with that splitter cable to link to AIO and control box. I can’t find it online. Do you have a link or a workaround for that? Thanks.
Awesome explanation, all I need is the ability to afford these fans.
Could you connect the SL INF 140 fans to the UNI SL V2 controller along with the other SL V2 fans???
So I have these fans and a NZXT kraken cooler and I want the cooler to control my fans speed on it but I don’t have that cable splitter it’s just one single white braided cable with the flat long end that goes into the control hub
hey, where did you get the cable at 16:55 . It wasn't there for me and I can't find where I can buy it
Hello! If I’m also planning this, should I buy three 3packs and 1 solo. Or should I buy one 3packs, and 8 solo? What’s more better? i’m going with this setup and going to be using the H9 Flow.
Thank you for this. I'm doing mine right now and aside from the basic assembly the instructions may as well not exist
Glad to help. Hope you enjoyed enough to subscribe 🦐
thanks so much for all of this, sub earned
Thank you. Glad you found it useful!
8:38 Thanks for the video. Why would you connect it to a USB header/port instead of Syst Fan header? Thanks!
USB lets you control lightning and fan speed via L Connect
Amazing videos! May I ask how you can handle 3 different controllers from lian li? I have one AIO galahad, one LCD, and one for strimmer lights? none of them can plug into each other as is
Use them all and this? ruclips.net/video/d8vELbWWaCQ/видео.html
your video helped immensely!
Great video, easy to understand and it was super helpful.

Thank you, best "how to" explanations I have found out there
👍
How would you do it with the new ASUS ROG RYUJIN III 360? Can't find a good video about it. Swapping the fans with Lian Li V2's.

Lian Li should hopefully have paid you for doing the tutorial that their marketing should have posted.
They did not🤣 though I'll accept your sub as payment 👍🦐
@@TheProvokedPrawn OK - fair deal, for meh anyway lol
I am getting six of the reverse fans and they have to be bought separately would I just link 3 and 3 and use the wires from the regular 3 fan pack to link to the controller?
Can you use a different controller for the AIO? My other lian lo fans have a different controller. That way one controller to rule them all.
Can i just control the fan through L3 connect only without the 3 pin to motherboard?
as bad as I want to do the switch from the jumbles corsair mess of fan cables. Everything is working fine and I feel like I would want to upgrade my fans to another corsair fan just to avoid the headache of switching. even though it doesn't look too hard. I wish I really wanted to.
I needed this video for my AIO thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent demonstration of linking the fans up. Can I ask how you would/could use the RGB hub with the controller on the back of a 216 case? Thanks
