Air Cooling! This was my very first PC, and I needed that reliability that would make it last for years ☺️ I paired a Deepcool Assassin 4S on my 7800x3d, and for a CPU that is supposed to run hot, I've never seen go above the 70°C on fairly heavy loads. Most of the time, we're speaking in the 60s here, barely above my GPU temps
He can! Or should I say, I can! That said, there’s probably 5 videos on the channel now with me talking. I don’t like to make a habit of it, but when the right video calls for knowledge and all… 🫦

They aren`t custom loop or themed, but god damn are those some pure sexy looking OE PC`s. Hats off. The videomaking was also top notch.
The first Luiquid AIO I bought had a pump failure. After that I bought the Luiquid AIO again and after 3 months it leaked (luckily nothing burned). After all that, I switched to air cooling, which amazed me how well it cools my CPU. So I'm in the team Air Cooling. Btw Matt, great video!
AIOs are cheap watercooling options. They are made cheap and affordable, easy to install, but the components will be also lesser quality and more prone to failure. Custom loop is a whole different level, but it requires more technical skills and a lot more money. Air cooling is good enough for now, can't speak for furure though.

I upgraded my pc recently from i7 3770k to R9 9750x. When I brought my old pc to upgrade, I decided to have liquid cooling for my as it has been my dream since 2013 but vendor suggested me to go for air cooling. He said that all workstations with R9 he has sold were equipped with air coolers and in commercial workspaces, people always choose air cooling over AIO. With heavy heart I went with Deepcool AK620 as per his suggestion and that cooler looked damn cool on my old Coolermaster Haf 912 cabinet with its industrial / tank like look. 4 months down, I am way more happy.
Tenho o AK620 Digital, um show a parte, saí de um LT520, Kraken x63, vou me manter no air cooler, estou visando o Assassin IV, quero pegar para testes.
Thanks for posting info.. I am considering getting a Ryzen 9 7900X, the price for one this Black Friday week is under £300, so against an 8 or 6 core 9000 series for relatively the same, it seems a no brainer to me. I did see however that they suggest it is run with an AIO.. I think this is for OPTIMAL use though so an air cooler should do the job. After seeing this and seeing some of the stories here an AIO that is on a cost par with an air cooler like yours, is gonna be a bit of a risk. I don't plan to OC it so air cooling should be fine. An excellent informative video as always. Video quality is top notch! TY! Also, that M1911A1 looks quite real, but no, it's an airgun as i noticed from the end of that "clip". What a pity. It went well with the set.
I have mashed up radiators from 3 AIO's with custom pipes on my PC. One of which is the MSI with the pump embedded in the radiator (which I refurbished myself) that had so many issues. 480mm total of radiator running solid for 2+ years with zero issues and looks fantastic

Wow... Forget the information, and that was very valuable.. But the production in this is jaw dropping. I literally sat here staring at the screen like it was a big budget movie lol. Amazing!!!
My rig started out with a Corsair H60 that eventually broke after rough transport of my rig. So I slapped in a NH-D15 and love everything about it. Beefy, no-nonsense cooler. I'm only interested in liquid cooling that doesn't involve fans.
Very cool video. Well explained, as most people won’t realise rad area is king. More than rad thickness. Main difference for me, about AIOs is noise. At full blast, all should be good enough. But to perform efficiently without excessive pump noise or fan noise, that’s the magic. Corsair for example, high pitch pumps, loud fans. Db alone won’t show the full picture.
even in most gaming your fans are not going high enough for that to matter, and the worse-case of stress testing, its important to know which cooler will handle that, because then it handles the rest.
Truly excellent video! Subscribed for more. Three years ago I built my AMD 5800X3D / nVidia 3090 Ti with the CPU on a custom loop and a 240mm top mount radiator with two 120mm case fans in a push config. The GPU was air-cooled. I mostly play MSFS and quickly realized that the GPU dumped FAR more heat into the case than the CPU. So I put a Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 on the CPU, bought a water block for the GPU, and upgraded to a 280mm radiator and two 140mm high static pressure push fans. The CPU air cooler works great, I don't overclock (but I do undervolt) and now all that GPU heat now gets exhausted out of the case. I mostly play MSFS, and my CPU temps are 50-60°C, while my GPU (which gets a real workout in that game) runs 70-80°C. My VRM temps hover around 40°C, and internal case temp around 35°C. One last reference point: I do a fair amount of Handbrake encoding, and that software uses all 16 cores at around 80% load. CPU temp hits 80-85°C, but never hits my 89° Thermal Limit.
Currently use a Deepcool Ls720 360 all in one and had an NZXT 240 aio before that. Haven't had any type of failure or bad performance. Both have been superb.
I've always been an AIO and Intel guy for my past 3 builds. But after the 9800x3d launch, with such low tdp, I've decided to slowly make purchases catered towards it. Started off by purchasing DeepCool's Assassin IV VC Vision, which should arrive by Friday. Still waiting for the 9800x3d to be back in stock, also ASRock's x870e Nova Wifi mb. Great video nonetheless!
Ohhhh the Assassin VC! That vapour chamber is very unique. I wanted to touch base on that in this video, but air coolers with a VC are not easy to come by (or largely known about) so perhaps I’ll make a specific video on those later. Either way, sounds like a great build which I’m sure you’re gonna love!
air, idk if it's just me, but i'm obsessed with the concept of trying to cool my system as cold as possible using only air. I really enjoy searching for niche components to make it happen, then combining them into the theory crafted system i've concocted in my head and seeing the results. to parrot someone elses comment, i too have been amazed with what i've been able to do with air!
I greatly prefer air, but on my most recent build it made more sense to go AIO, so I bought a Thermalright Frozen Notte 240. My Ryzen 5700x3D never clears 60C under full load, and the fans never have to spool up to keep up. That computer stays quieter than the background noise of the house at full speed because of my airflow/AIO optimisation I went for when building it, and I love it.
Video editing, explanation and voice...all perfect. i'm in search for a new cooling because simply the look of my current i don't like anymore. so i'd love an aio. but i just invested in 3 corsair coolers for the top and so that money would be wasted...think i'll have to wait 😁 (just bought the bequiet dark rock elite. but it's so extremely ugly so i sent it back)
Glad to hear you talk....LOL Thanks for a very simple but instructional video for those who are seeking for CPU cooling.....my favorite will allways be the KING, Noctua in all sizes but specialy the NH-D15 G2
My first AIO after two years of use already has degraded pump. My temps reaches almost 80C and sometimes goes above it even when gaming on a non cpu bound game, and it's a 65w cpu only. 😂 I went back to my roots and bought a dual tower air cooler and voila, temps back to 60ish, even in my new 5800x3d CPU 😂
This is massive 👏 unbelievably a good watch. You made it enjoyable to watch. Also, im 50 % in and had to write something as it's a massive, interesting blog i know its not your niche to talk in your blogs, and to be honest, i love your style as it is. But a motherboard like this would be amazing.

I rep both Team Air and Team Liquid. I use a Deep Cool LS520 AIO top mounted on my current gaming PC. It's got a Core i5 12600k cpu, 32 gigs of ram, and a RTX 4070. I use a Deep Cool AS500 Plus air tower cooler on my second PC. It's got a Ryzen 7 5800X cpu, 32 gigs of ram, and a RTX 3070. Both coolers do and excellent job at keeping the temps down. The aio did take more time to install. Besides that both are good options. It comes down to preference. Performance or aesthetics. I like a little of both in my builds, both of which are white builds with RGB.

Air cooler team. I have been using Deepcool AK620 DIGITAL WH for 6 months without any problem in my 14700K system.
Aesthetics are on point, man. I like your vision. Brolls are a chief’s kiss.
Crazy production quality here bro
@ Can't wait for that video Matt, and keep it up with dishing out great videos!
You are gonna hit one million subs so fast
That pew pew in the end..... 😂
Great production, as usual.
these cinematic shots... +1
air, idk if it's just me, but i'm obsessed with the concept of trying to cool my system as cold as possible using only air. I really enjoy searching for niche components to make it happen, then combining them into the theory crafted system i've concocted in my head and seeing the results. to parrot someone elses comment, i too have been amazed with what i've been able to do with air!
Just came across this video great quality and good info. You got a new sub. 😊
Love your videos and production that you put into them. Keep up the good work!
Dude, John wick style. Best b roll ever on a computer video
Air cooler works, but I never go back after using 360mm AIO. It is just satisfying to see my CPU and GPU at almost same temperature.
You managed to find the perfect CPU and GPU thermal balance, awesome! Its less common to do that than you think 👌
Hmm. My cpu and gpu are almost always the same temperature while gaming and I use air cooler. I don’t think it should be a decisive factor.
"Perfectly balanced. As all things should be." - Thanos
@@Shaphil Yes, lol, hahaha
Same, I love my 360 aio
You must be using a nice camera and nice footage, it's been long i've been amazed by nice image quality !
Nice video btw keep it going !
I'm impressed that you managed to make those Noctua brown fans look beautiful in a case (at 7:28). That white wooden look is lovely.
Video editing, explanation and voice...all perfect.
i'm in search for a new cooling because simply the look of my current i don't like anymore. so i'd love an aio. but i just invested in 3 corsair coolers for the top and so that money would be wasted...think i'll have to wait 😁 (just bought the bequiet dark rock elite. but it's so extremely ugly so i sent it back)
Great Video with stellar editing!
the presentation is top notch glad to be alive
👏
Really artistic approach.
Glad to hear you talk....LOL Thanks for a very simple but instructional video for those who are seeking for CPU cooling.....my favorite will allways be the KING, Noctua in all sizes but specialy the NH-D15 G2
Very informative, thanks Matt.
Your Channel , Machines & More , Devyn Johnston & Optimum have excellent Info. Quality Work
Amazing production man
this video was pleasing to the eye and the mind👌🏼
My first AIO after two years of use already has degraded pump. My temps reaches almost 80C and sometimes goes above it even when gaming on a non cpu bound game, and it's a 65w cpu only. 😂 I went back to my roots and bought a dual tower air cooler and voila, temps back to 60ish, even in my new 5800x3d CPU 😂
That was an utterly fantastic video, Mr. Lee!
Thanks so much 🤜🤛
This is massive 👏 unbelievably a good watch.
You made it enjoyable to watch. Also, im 50 % in and had to write something as it's a massive, interesting blog i know its not your niche to talk in your blogs, and to be honest, i love your style as it is.
But a motherboard like this would be amazing.
Thanks Darren! Appreciate you pausing to drop a comment. I know talking isn’t my usual form of content, but as I’m sure you will agree - it’s appropriate from time to time. It’s almost selfish to store so much knowledge and not share it with you guys. Either way, appreciate you stopping by and hope you enjoyed it 😄
I rep both Team Air and Team Liquid.
Thanks for this content I already decide what cooler I will buy this week.
Your videos are really something else... I kinda envy you a little bit, but in a good way.
That camera angle through the Fuma 3 was absolutely wild! Great Video Matt.
Thanks so much FanaPants! 👌 that shot took a few hours, just for a few seconds of footage. Planning and positioning wasn’t easy, but great fun! 😄
@@Mr_Matt_Lee that shot really got my attention. This is my first time ever watching one of your videos but I can tell you're a great cinematographer, or you've hired a great one.
Nice video, very well done.
Awesome builds, thanks for the knowledge...
Thank you for this video. Showed me the difference and what choice I’m going
i love your videos! been waiting for an upload almost everyday
🙌 I wish I could upload more than once a week (on a Monday) but they take an entire week to film and produce so it’s just not possible 😭 either way, I’m glad you’re here for every video!
Perfect videos for a pc enthusiast to go with morning coffee
Really smooth production.
I bought my first AIO (a 240mm from ID Cooling) a little over a year ago and the price, performance and installation was all lightyears ahead of my last attempt at water cooling, a short-lived custom loop back in the LGA 775 days. Still, I missed the simplicity and reliablity of an air cooler, so when I switched out of the A4-H2O I went with the Peerless Assassin 120 Mini. Pretty capable little guy.
