This is by far the best guide I've seen so far. Incredibly detailed and informative, thank you so much!
Its been quite along time since i built a pc. Around 10 yrs. Picked up 6 of these for my new build and i was amazed at the quick connect and less wires. It was such a cool feature
You never let me down with your guides Nick!! You are a rockstar!!
Excellent information. In the middle of a build, and got all my questions answered clearly and concisely. Many appreciations!
The best video i've found on the wiring of these things. About to pull the trigger on a purchase but was not clear on what hook-ups were absolutely necessary. Cheers!
Fantastic video fams. The HOW TO videos are always top notch. Already got SL120 but these sure do look pretty sweet.
Thank you for doing this video, I followed it to install fans into my computer. I'd never played around with the inside of a pc before so it was great to have this guide.
This video was so incredibly helpful. Nothing but pure, easy to follow and understand information all the way through, AND you just so happened to be demonstrating everything with the exact motherboard I'm using in my build! Thanks so much!
I had such a hard time installing these using other videos. This video helped me so much. It took longer to mount them and do cable management than it did setting them up. Thank you
This guy is great! I was a little confused with how to wire the controller, but after just watch half this video, I got it. Thank you!
awesome video man this was the most clear and easy to follow installation guide
if any of you are having any trouble changing fans speeds or rgb colors i downloaded the fix but it didn't work then i just downloaded L-connect 2 and it worked i keeped the first one doe
Great video and perfect timing for me as I'm going to be building soon and am looking at using these fans. Thanks!!
THANK YOU FOR THIS DETAILED VIDEO!!!! You are the only one that has done a video detailing exactly where everything connects to.
I've had trouble understanding how it works for months and this video is better than any other video thank you
Awesome video fams. Another great HOW To video for sure. Keep up the hard work
I just wanted to say Thank You very much for your great video 🙏🏽🙏🏽 I just built my computer and nothing I did would make fans work. I even watched several other videos. Your clear explanation was the only one that helped. All fans are now working.
Super detailed! Keep them tutorials coming! Thanks!
Thanks for being so detailed with the connections, very helpful
Concise, clear, no skipping steps, no crappy youtuber junk thrown in. Good video!
Been looking for guide to install this. This video is by far most easy to understand!
Thank you so much for this video. This is the ONLY video that described everything and showed everything. You are the reason why my PC is working now. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
This channel is underrated. Great video guys!
Excellent guide mate! Thank you for the info, really great explanation!
Thank you. I needed a refresher for my wife's PC build since I installed mine nearly a year ago!
+1 Thanks GS! I'm currently on a hunt for a good argb fans for my build. This is very helpful
Good video Nick, fantastic in-dept!
This was so insanely helpful, thank you for breaking it down into baby steps! Best guide out there, feel so much more confident thank you thank you
exactly what i was looking for!! thanks man!!
This is the best video I have found all day for how to set this up. Thank you.
Yooooooooo you aced it with this one. Thanks for this.
Had to leave a thumbs up, very helpful and very thorough.
This and your NZXT Z73 video helped me so much! Liked both and commented on both so other people would know!
Thank you! Best step by step video for these fans!
Awesome! Thanks for showing the different angles.
Great video gonna order those fans and this was very helpful Thank You Subbed
Clever design with the cable and controller. And the software looks pretty straightforward.
I'll give it a go when I'm done with all the corsair's mess.
BTW great job on the tutorial. Cheers!
Aquacomputer and its Aquasuite has been the top option for fan controller and software for longest time. They have options like splitty 4 to control corsair argb fans and farbwerk360 for the rest.
Watercool been long working on one. Ekwb is completely redoing there. Corsair has always been not great.
If you think Corsair is a mess, wait until you try L connect... wish I could just return these damn fans.
@@skvaderarts7009 agree..it's a disaster..
Today I learned it so easily. Thank you. Much Appreciated
Best video I've watched regarding Lian Li unifan, thanks
super helpful. thank you so much for explaining everything so clearly.
Thank you for showing this, it really helped!!!
This video saved my sanity. Thank you so much.
My guy you just earned a sub i was going crazy overwhelm with all the wiring thanks a lot 🇩🇴
Mad props for the drum & bass intro music
Very helpful; thanks.
excellent video!
THANK YOUUUUU
NEEDED TO WATCH THIS TO MAKE SURE MY SETIUP WILL WORK ON ONE CONTROLLER
great how to video!
Great info and vid.
Thank you for being so thorough.
Just wanted to say thank you. I installed the AL120 and they work amazingly! I did have to switch the position of my bottom two fans because they didn't show any RGB.
I am looking into getting them connected with Corsair iCUE so I don't have to have two different RGB software.
Signal rgb
Uff great vid and info!
Thank you so muc this really helped!
I have the older 140mm model, and I just skip using any of the proprietary things and just plug them into the motherboard's argb and let it handle all the RGB. It also uses openRGB when I'm on Linux too. Works well.
Great guide, saved me from buying multiple 3 packs (with leftover controllers).
I just ordered these, two 3 packs, and finding out that i can have set speed case fans AND temp controlled aio fans on the same hub, man oh man these fans really are super functional, Also ordered the Meshify C, cannot wait till next weekend, i should have everything by then and its going tto be a breeze to rebuild with the new case and fans. Theyre very pretty as well.
How did you get the aio fans to be temp controlled?
thank you very much sir for the great explanation what cable is actually needed and whats optional. ! :) great job you have done!
Thanks - excellent and very helpful!
Well done!
The Flat-lay walkthrough was so very clear and helpful.
I've been changing my T-30 3x daisy chained AIO fans to share CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT rather than all on CPU_FAN due to learning about, and having significant worries of, overloading the 1 AMP limit on fan headers, since T-30s are well above that under full draw.
Then I thought, wait, I have 4 Lian Li fans connected to my hub. Is that in danger? And I wasn't sure how they were powered, as I was pretty sure it was power supply related instead, so safe.
Your video here helped me clear that worry up without having to take apart my cables and trace things. And also reminded me of how much of a mess the cables are with hubs lol.
Really perfect video...
Music always adds so much to your videos
Automatic like and follow because of that sick DnB intro
Clear thanks.
Fan-tastic vid mate
🤣🤣
Best explanation ever.
Good video! Helped me to understand how the argb module gets connected to the psu.
The different angles for confused people are HILARIOUS
Thanks Man! =)
thanks, have some 120sl coming so now know what to do
Thanks Bro!
thanks for your video - now I know how to set them up once they are here. Would you mind making a performance comparison (cooling, noise) to the Corsair LL120?
Thank you!!
Thank you.
Great breakdown of everything! Thank you!
Hello nice video :D
I have a question, do you know if the program can control other brands of fans that are not Lian Li?
MCM!! So sick!!!
I love the how to install ll120 fans.
Thanks for the video!! I am currently trying to decide if I wanna get the AL120, SL120 or the new Infinity ones. Help 😂😣🤣
Hi. Awesome video. I have one question. When you say that the RGB cable is optional, do you mean that it will be present in the kit nonetheless and using it is optional?
Hey is it possible to control the AL120 RGB color with motherboard aura sync using Deepcool FH-10 Fan hub instead of using L-connect? I see that there is PWM issue with L-connect and therefore will love to use my fan hub instead of L-connect. Also I belive the AL120 RBG connector is universal one and can plug directly into Deepcool FH-10 Fan hub or any other generic fan hub?
If I want to use these fans with a Gigabyte Waterforce AIO do I just plug these fans into the controller and not the CPU Fan Header on the motherboard? Because on my AIO I don't have a CPU Fan Cable
I literally brought these fans in black after watching this 🖤🖤🖤
The AL fans look absolutely beautiful. I'm getting a set. Important to note that Lian Li states on their website that AL fans should not be connected to the SL Uni-Hub controller.
The sl hub controller didn’t last very long for some people. The watercoolers endup using the aquacomputer fan controller with rgbx (each rgbx control 3 fans max or 90rgbx). So quadro/octo.
Good luck. Hopefully you actually get them to work.
So, do we need to connect the USB front panel cable when you want to use the fans directly via the motherboard (ARGB+PWM)??
im actually installing these right now, but im having trouble understanding the optional motherboard plugs. is there a benefit to having the optional motherboard sync? or its just extra steps i dont need to do. i have 2 sets of these Lian Li SL120 (so 6 individual fans total). If im able to, should i just hook up every available/optional plug? or would that just do more harm than good?
Can the controller power on the fans without using the USB cable? My mini ITX doesnt have a USB header.
good day sir, can I connect another triple set fans on the same controller using 3 and 4? And then using synch cable to the motherboard? Because I cannot find the right connector to go straight into my power supply. (Seasonic Prime PX 1000) Thank you.
If I don't have that RGB controller is there like a daisy changed connecter I can use to connect all of the RGB connecter together then plug it to the RGB head would that work?
Hey! I am going to do a case swap soon. My new case will be an O11 Air Mini and I already made sure that all of my components are compatible with this case.
I am also going to buy a 2-pack of SL140 fans which I will connect to my motherboard for RGB and PWM control.
My question is this. I already have 6x Arctic aRGB PWM fans that I will be keeping for now (these will go inside the Lian Li case). Can I connect these fans to the Lian Li controller that comes with the SL140 fans or they won't be compatible? And if they're not, is there any aRGB controller that you recommend?
This is such a great video. No fluff. Clearly demonstrated and explained. Subscribed
So I didn't know about the lian li controller. I bought 4 of the sl140 lian li fans (single packs) for my pc. I have a Msi X570 gaming plus motherboard. I know I can still connect all four of these to get the fans going but can I still get the rgb without the controller?
So with the controller I don't have to plug the argb and or fan cable in, the USB will be enough to control fan speed and rgb?
I have Lian Li 360 SL fans + Lian Li 240mm Aio that EACH ONE has their OWN controller. Should I plug all the fans and ARGB connectors to the ONE controller ?
Need a bit of help, I’ve got a maximus z690 extreme with the artic freezer 2. I’m using lian li AL fans. So I’ve set up the fans connected to the controller. The sata cable is connected along with the usb cable. So I’ve connected the RGB but the other cable, I don’t know where it goes, on the motherboard there is about 9 connections. I’ve connected to the cpu Fan connection The artic pump cable has been connected to the CPU opt. But I feel like I can’t control the fans and they don’t adjust to being in game or out of game. Any other info please ask and thanks
If I disconnect the mobo rgb sync from the controller, will LConnect 3 finally control my fans? I have a new Galahad 240 SLI 120 edition.
Can I plug in other company’s fans that use pwm headers (like Noctua)on to the controller?
Now If I wanted to put 2 of thous lianLi uni SL120 fans on my Graphics card (instead of the ones it came with) Would I want to connect the fan power to the Graphics card or still into the controller? (just asking to be Shure I think the answer is into the Graphics cars power so they spin how the graphics card needs them to, and the rgb connector into the controller to set the color right-? )
I’m planning on building my first build and im going to buy the sl120 version of this. I was wondering if i can plug the pwm signal wire into my cpu fan header
thank you so much. Simple explanation, no needless fluff. I was stuck with the optional part, i was unsure what to do with those cables as the included manual didn't really tell me what it did. It made it seem it was necessary.
Precisely! You are not alone!
So what does the Optional part does exactly? or what happens if you do not do it?
Accidentally ordered one set of AL fans, others are SL - will that be a problem, or can I control them within the same controller?
