Amazing guide as always! I just installed this AIO into my system a few days ago, and one thing worth noting is that the USB-C cable going into the pump block requires an extraordinary amount of force to be fully inserted. When I first booted up my system the screen and ARGB strips kept turning off after a few seconds and I thought I had a faulty unit. Turns out you just need to push the cable in with A LOT of force for it to click into place. Hope this helps anyone else that may run into the same issue.
" extraordinary amount of force to be fully inserted." ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. I went through ALOT of headache becaue of this. YOu have to push enough until you hear/feel a CLICK. When you feel that, it means it's finally connected. ALSO. Word of warning. LConnect 3 software that is use to control the AIO, LCD and aRBGs, does NOT like iCue, Asus Crate and the Fusion RGB. I am yet to find a software that I can use to control the lights on my Consair memory cards and my Consair K70 motherboard because the Lconnect cannot control them. It's horrible in that regard. LASTLY. IF you are planning to use additional Fininity fans, you MUST double check that you have more than TWO USB2 motherboard ports. If you do not have more than do then you need to buy a internal USB2 hub such as NZXT Internal USB 2 hub. Buy that additionally and you'll be golden.
RGB Tutorial .. you need to do a hand holding RGB tutorial using all sorts of different fans, RAM, motherboards, cases, GPUs, water blocks, etc. LED RGB setup and configuration video. I'm an experienced builder and every RGB setup at best is a nightmare to take care of. Often I find myself having to reinstall windows from all the weird conflicts from RGB software.
Just found the channel and I love it! A little question for my upcoming build, I’ll be running an additional 4x uni inf 120 fans and 2x 140 of the same. Do I need to download both versions of the software or can I do everything from the one version? Thanks!
I am about to put this exact AIO in this case so would like to know if you can plug the front 160mm fans into the controller or should I either leave them plugged into the included hub or just plug them directly into the motherboard?
Great video as usual. Completely unrelated, my kids heard me watching one of your videos the other day and asked me "What episode of Bluey are you watching dad?"...it took them a second to realize that you weren't Bluey's dad, but now they want to watch with me to hear your voice. What about the other cable that plugs into the side of the pump? You only plugged in the USB-C cable. There is another couple that plugs in right next to it and it has a SATA power cable. So are you sure the pump had power? The fans were plugged into the hub and the hub had SATA power. So that means the fabs had power but the pump did not. Is there anything I am missing?

Great video but what is the second outlet for on the pump head? The cable goes to the pump head and splits to sata and a couple others I can’t remember. Is it not needed?
Thank you chef Nick! I am using Gigabyte Z790 AORUS ELITE AX. It seems like the pump 4-pin header is at the bottom of the MB... Will it be okay if I plug the pump top to CPU_OPT instead? Thanks!
If I have multiple sets of fans going to the hub, I don't need to connect the Argb cable to the motherboard for every additionally set do it? Just pwm for all of the additional set, and then everything is controlled from the hub at that point? Thank ahead of time! Been watching your stuff for years.
Awesome vid. Quick question. I got the infinity version. I have the infinity fans in case already. They came with a different cable it plugs into the controller with one cable. The Galahad has a cable with a 2 plug into controller. Do u think I can put the 1 plug from the triple pack on the Galahad so I only have one controller instead a controller for Galahad and controller for fans
Can anyone explain what the pass thru cable is for and I heard him say it was optional but leave it in. Is it best to use it or is it actually optional
Your video made me second guess myself as i watched this video after preforming my own installation of the product. The thumb screw things with the dots are compatible with am5, intel 115 and intel 1200.
I have a question, i seem to have gotten the 280mm with 2 fans .I cant seem to get the computer to detect the fans , doesn't show me the rpms or nothing but it does light up along with the lcd . What would be the reason for everything to work but the fans function. This model didn't come with a controller so i assume it should work with out or do i need the controller for it to be functionable ?
So what do I do if my screen doesn't turn on? Does it need to be connected to a monitor to turn on? I read the comment about using extraordinary force, and even still, the usb-c cord still seems wiggly? anyone have any suggestions, please help!
Lian li have wow products.I use a Lian li o11 Evo xl and a Lian li G Sl 360 AIO, quality is wow. I personally don't like the PC look like a Christmas tree 😅
Well I wish you would have told me that installing it in the position you have I would not be able to see the LCD lines on the left. So now I have to reinstall the LCD with the lines on the top and bottom.
Does it matter the direction of the pump when mounting to mobo? So like both tubes coming out the right side, the top side, the bottom side , or the left side are all ok or like only a few orientations are ok? Ty for the video!
Do I need to plug the argb header of the hub tho argb header on mobo to control argb of these fans? I thought the mirco usb cable is enough for both pwm and argb control
My biggest question that I can’t find the answer to. If I run a 9-10 lian li fans, can it all go to the aio controller or do I need to have a separate controller for the fans since the triple pack cable is different from the aio.
@@bozoqturkmni8137 I bought 10 singles and return my triple pack fans. The 10 singles are separated into 4 single connections after daisy chaining them. Connected them to the AIO and worked perfectly. And in my case is only 1 single controller.
I don’t see the secondary download on the LianLi website, I’ve tried to follow their “firmware update guide” but it just says it’s the latest version and I don’t have any LCD tab on the software, can you possibly provide the download link?
Love these videos Chef, those fans were still raw, slow simmer for 4 hours (like, who has time for that). I installed my first liquid cooler yesterday, it is amazing how low the temps get.
is it true that Lconnect 3 doesn't have coolant temperature as a sensor? I worry that the fans will ramp up and down pointlessly if they are following CPU package temps. I am returning a new icue link h150i elite because it has a Coolit pump that has to stay at high rpm. I am thinking of buying this Lian Li AIO instead because of the 8th gen Asetek pump.
I like the infinity fans and also the display. BTW, its 8th Gen Asetec with a good cooling-performance ... perfect, but. does it have an negative effect, that the intel backplate is plastic and would you recommend better thermal paste for an Intel 14900KS?
My question is can I sync all my 7 fans ( UNI FAN SL-INF ) which are on one fence 3...second fence another 3 and standalone....They all have their own controller .....( Lian Li GALAHAD II LCD 360 ) has a completely different controller... I would be very grateful to learn how all this can be synchronized
Thank you for your work on this! I have the same Gallahad II and the same motherboard. I followed this guide to meticulously, however my system fan in bios all read zero. They all work, and show up in L-connect 3, but on the bios level, it doesn't appear that I can control them. Any ideas?
One thing thats annouying with this unit and the tl lcd fans , is the CPU usuage when displaying sensor readings . I dont know why but usuage can range from 7% to 13% , which causes idle temps to rise from 36c to mid to high 40s for me . Also i have had random disconnects only with the Gallahad II and causes my game to crash and had to restart PC . Great products but issues with L-connect 3 .
Listen mister Nick. I love your content and I love Lian Li products so this was always going to be a banger... but mate, you need to start using nail clippers if you're going to be a hand model hahah
Why is your rpm for the AIO fans showing 0 rpm (located on the left side above the pump rpm). Mine is doing that too now. Could you please explain? Is it because of the pass through cables?
Fantástic Nick…loved the videos about the fractal terra…you gave all the calls about the problems I could find and between you and GN i managed to have a great build made…keep the good work …and the sense of humor.
Great video. I am stumped on something, maybe you can help. I have the GA LCD cooler AND a triple pack of 120mm infinity sl fans (which has its own controller). How can I connect both hubs up to the PC? Can each hub be connected to a usb port on the motherboard?
I had really bad luck with this Aio it seems. Bought one, leaking in the box. Got a quick RMA with the company I bought from and they replaced with a fresh one, still unopened with all wrapping on packaging etc, second one also leaking... Replaced that one decided I didn't trust it after 2 leaking units in a row and replaced it with a different brand cooler.
I have a question: (bad english sorry) If I already have sl-inf fan and L-connect3 controller, should i need duo controller for both fans and bump? RSVP
on my aorus x670e master board i only have a cpu opt and a cpu fan and a sys_fan8_pump on the top of my board where should i plug the pump cable greetings friend and what speed of pump and fans did you use and what firmware do you have and how did you update it to make it right.
Can you switch between the new and old power cables with these models? Everything works except my fans because I am using the wider other version than what was provided.
I would like to know what happens if I do not use the USB connector on the controller? What would stop working? I understand that the 3-pin connector would control the RGB and the 4-pin connector would control the fan speed. What would stop working on the hub if I do not connect the USB?
Blows my mind they still haven't put the AL V2 fans on these coolers. I really dont want to spend $200 on a cooler and then another $80 to put the better fans on that will match the rest of the build
My AIO is only a month old and the screen freezes all the time and it will be stuck on the logo and there is nothing I can do to fix it with out fully shut down not restarting
The one thing I don't like but almost all do is if you have a white build the why give you black cables when they ALL should be white. With the Lian Li fans which all change the way the controller plugs in I think Lian Li should sell the coolers with which ever fans you want to install in your case so they all match and look the same in your build. The same go's with power supply companies that give you white cable with black ends and the case companies selling you a white case and Black front panel connectors.
at @7:16 you say that cable is optional but not why you would or wouldn't use it ? Also, what is the other port on the side of the LCD screen beside the type c used for? Thank you
Can you please compare the colling performance with galahad 2 performance. I am not sure why they are released home grown pump in ga2 and asetek in lcd version within 2-3 months. My ga2 performance stopped working withinn a month making me wonder if lian li pumps are not that reliable and thats why they shifted to asetek.
looking into building a new gaming pc and this cooler looks amazing! Love the big square lcd on which you can project so many things. Never ever build a pc before, so video(s ike this one are a real blessing to me.
Really excellent guide. I'm doing my first PC build and this cooler and other Infinity fans are my last step. You showed me everything I need to know to get my rig in action. Thank you.
I bought the same aio but my question is I know it has pre apply themo paste but do you still have to put more thermo paste on the cpu just in case it’s not enough ?
I’ve recently installed it in my pc everything is working except the lcd screen it’s just black and the pump runs at full rpm I’ve tried the firmware update that lian li has on their website but it still isnt working and it also disconnects at random moments making the usb sound i’ve plugged in everything and made sure its all the way in like they said on their website but its still not working properly, the problem is mainly the lcd screen. Do you have any solutions for me ?
Unplug from the USB header on your motherboard and replug while the system is running. Also make sure all the cables are plugged in properly. The USB cable to the pump top needs to be plugged in quite firmly from memory. Double check :)

I have a question: (bad english sorry)
If I already have sl-inf fan and L-connect3 controller, should i need duo controller for both fans and bump?

on my aorus x670e master board i only have a cpu opt and a cpu fan and a sys_fan8_pump on the top of my board where should i plug the pump cable greetings friend and what speed of pump and fans did you use and what firmware do you have and how did you update it to make it right.
What would stop working on the hub if I do not connect the USB?
i have the same question bro
I think maybe the screen stops displaying but i could be wrong, never owned this AIO
Blows my mind they still haven't put the AL V2 fans on these coolers. I really dont want to spend $200 on a cooler and then another $80 to put the better fans on that will match the rest of the build
Nice Guide! But i have a problem and i cant figure it out. If i record my screen and press import... the video is gone. Same thing with mp4 uploads.
Thank you
I had to RMA this product form newegg TWICE. Every single time it was missing the controller.
how much usage does the software have? i stopped using NZXT because of their horrible software
My MOBO has both a CPU_FAN1 and PUMP_FAN1. Which one should I use for PWM connector? Thanks!
Really excellent guide. I'm doing my first PC build and this cooler and other Infinity fans are my last step. You showed me everything I need to know to get my rig in action. Thank you.
Hi, new pc builder here. Can I also connect the 3 daisy chained fans to the controller? Thank you so much.
Can i use the pwm functions through motherboard and the argb with Asus aura sync or have i to install l-connect?
I bought the same aio but my question is I know it has pre apply themo paste but do you still have to put more thermo paste on the cpu just in case it’s not enough ?
You missed one connection on the pump with 2 connectors?? Did you just leave it unplugged?
Decent, a bit too fast when it comes to the wiring and dont really show much of each wire end. Will need to watch 67 more times

So mine constantly runs into issues where you can't control the screen. Does anyone else have this problem??
Double check :)
did you fixed it?
I wonder if I can use ga lcd with inf fan and my other tl fans in l3 connect software together
First
Make sure you hear a *CLICK* when pushing in the white usb-c cable here @7:03
Hi, new pc builder here. Can I also connect the 3 daisy chained fans to the controller? Thank you so much.
Hi, new pc builder here. Can I also connect the 3 daisy chained fans to the controller? Thank you so much. 🎉
