Awesome video. Love how you covered every detail so clearly. 70 years old and I'm planning my first PC build. I made my list of the components I want and buying them as they go on sale. I'm sure I'll have questions once I finish the build. Just amazes me how knoledgeable you young people are. Hopefully some of that will rub off on me.
Good luck, I've been building computers since you could buy components. Things are so much easier now. Back then you could plug a cable in backward and kill the motherboard. It would be really hard to do damage now, at worst you'll just have to figure out what you did wrong. Also back then there was no internet to go look up info if you were stuck. As someone who's built hundreds of computers, you should be fine.
thank you brother. i am about to build my own computer in the coming month and i have been concerned about my capability. i will watch your video a few times until i start, then i will watch it as i am building it. best video!
Excellent video as always. The channel as a whole is very educational and useful to PC enthusiasts. One thing I would note about this particular video is that placing the main operating system drive (m.2 drive) in the uppermost slot is not always the best option. This is particularly relevant to gaming PC's and many Z790 boards. A good example is the Asus ROG Strix Z790-E Gaming Wifi. Placing any m.2 drive (whether gen 4 or gen 5) on the uppermost slot will automatically set the uppermost PCIE slot down from 16 to 8 lanes. The ideal location on this board for the main operating system drive is the 3rd slot. This slot is addressed directly from CPU lanes (not the chipset) and does not affect the uppermost PCIE slot for your GPU. One final recommendation after seeing the entire video is to check device manager after installing drivers just as a final check that everything is in order.
Thank you so much for this video. I’ve just finished successfully building my first PC using this tutorial. With a ProArt Z790, ProArt 4080, i9 14900K and air cooled with Noctua NH-D15. And it ran a 37583 on Cinebench. I’m pretty happy with the results. 😊👍 Cheers

This video is very well done. Thanks for posting. Helpful reminder of how to do process. Been wanting to build a new machine, after 6 years its time to do it again!!
Followed this tutorial step by step. Exact same mobo with 13700k. 6x Chromax on case with Noctual CPU Cooler. Be Quiet straight power 12 1000W. Quietest PC ever! Quick question : Why did the XMP reverted back to Disabled at 2:31:20? Is it normal? Mobo did the same to me. Memory is at 6400Mhz (bios and Win11 confirmed), but I'm curious why the XMP reverts to Disabled. Oh Subscribed !! :)
I've been building personal PCs and company servers since the windows 98 days, and I really can't see how or why the hobby never gained an interest with the mass majority of people back then. It's a great way to learn technology. It's keeps you busy and out of trouble. It creates great conversations with people. Unfortunately, the lack of interest back then caused collateral damage for retail stores like CompUSA and Circuit City.
Great video man! Thanks so much. I'm about to build a PC for the first time in like 25 years. I have all the parts except for the CPU which I will get on Saturday. I feel a lot more confident now after watching this. You have one more subscriber.
The bios update portion should really be filmed on a variety of brands from AsRock to Asus to Gigabyte. While they are similar, I have an AsRock x570 Taichi Razer edition and I always get hung up on Gigabyte bios for some reason. I have updated my bio on my AsRock, but I did not have a single bit of fun, completely concerned whether I was even doing anything correctly the whole time. I love this video overall and the bits and pieces where you say 'be careful with...' are extremely helpful to those of us that just go about upgrading our systems every 5yrs or so.
Man, thank you so much for all those videos! It's invaluable information! I've just finished a build completely based on your guides and tips for parts! It went way better and much faster than my last build, and even though I'm not a pc builder noob, it really helped to take some short cuts with your build guides! My new build is almost identical to your personal pc, except for the ssd's and the psu. I went with the be quiet straight Power 12 1000w instead. It's awesome!
Absolutely ESSENTIAL channel!! Thank you! We just built our first PC and installed the i-9 14900K on the Asus Pro Art z790 and plenty more goodies. But could of never done it without this channel (and a few others). I also used the whokeys link for the new windows 11 Pro. I couldn't use my 2020 HP Pavilion once I started using Photoshop. They are great and practical but it wasn't upgradable, it is a all-in-one and is basically a laptop with a widescreen. This mega PC I built was certainly pricy, about 4 grand all said and done including a 4k monitor Ultra LG 32GQ950-B and 2x 2 Tera byte Samsung 990 PRO nvm, but very happy and looking forward to photo and video editing. fyi I went with the matching rtx 4070 oc Pro Art and 2 sticks of corsair 6400 DDR5 32 cl ram. Peripherals really added up every step of the way, including an iFix it took kit. All very gratifying and well worth it. Still updating stuff on this pc and I have not even ran Photoshop yet but looking forward to the task now. Cheers!

Thank you for the video, it was particularly helpful for me since I have the North too and I really wanted to see how to do the cable management properly! :D
Thank you so much for the video. I almost exactly built this configuration and your input was very helpful. Now I am interested if there are software settings that help to speed up the workflow. Have you made a video that follow this one logically? Thx
Holy Cow! I haven't even watched the video yet. I'm building my 1st PC in over 25yrs, and I have just happened to have bought most of the components you are using. Fractal North, ProArt MOBO, 4090, with Air cooler etc. LET'S GO!!!!!!
Thanks for the video. I'm building a PC for the first time since I was a teen. I'm pretty excited about it. The longest part was deciding on all the parts. Mainly if I wanted to go with AMD or Intel as I will be mostly gaming with it. I don't need productivity work so much but at the same time I want it there just in case I decide to edit videos or so. 7800X3D or 13900K was the dilemma along with what mobo I was going to use. I'm keeping this build for at least 5 years as well but however will be doing another build in 2 years. Looks like the 14th gen will be using the same socket this year. Honestly I wish the AM5 mobos were cheaper as whatever you saved on the CPU from Intel you are losing it with on the mobo side along with more expensive RAM as well. The difference was around $75 so I told myself what the heck I rather spend a little more with Intel to get more productive while losing on some gaming. It's an older CPU but it's a better all arounder imo. I didn't want to do 7950X3D as the gaming performance was less than the 7800X3D. Lastly in the future if you could rotate the top view cam to face you instead so that we could see it from your POV instead. It's easier to follow you this way that's why.
Wow first time in my life I build computer from scratch❤️ hope you all best! I have same motherboard, but after windows installation I don’t have Wi-Fi and don’t gives me option to connect. I did follow your instructions, HOW to connect on internet, please help
👍👍👍 Thank you very much for this brilliant livestream (which I watched about a year later, a fortnight ago to be precise)! It was because of this video that I decided to build my first PC by myself. What can I say: sensational! Everything worked exactly as you showed (although I built an AMD Ryzen 9 system: Ryzen 9 7950X, Asus X670E Creator Wifi). The special thing: You really showed every step (on a clean and tidy workspace, at a moderate pace), so it was easy to follow along. That's extraordinary and that's why I'm absolutely thrilled. It is often the case that certain details are omitted in such videos (deliberately or as a mistake), but as a beginner/amateur you are left looking stupid and can't get any further. My new and fast system is running without problems and I'am happy doing image editing with Lightroom and Photoshop. Tech Notice is, from now on, my 1st adress for everything regarding PCs! 😃
Thanks - an enjoyable ride. Good refresher, too. I haven't built in a long time and am looking forward to your videos on under-$1000 builds. I hope to make Adobe Denoise AI go at respectable speed. Someone said that an RTX 3080 8GB is barely adequate for Denoise, though informal testing charts indicate that isn't true. Would love to hear your views on the subject. So glad you want to help creators, not gamers. At 81 I'm shooting events and videoing interviews with an R6.
Great video, I am also using the same anti-bending buckle. I am also done building, but not done cable managing. I might actually go for a different case (I have the bgears b-voguish), but I did the EPS cable run all wrong.
75 year old about to start my first PC build based primarily on your videos. I am going to use the Gigabyte Z690 Auros Elite AX ddr5 and would like to update the bios prior to beginning the build. But, the site is unclear to me which new bios I should be updating too. There is a version 1.xx and a version 1.4, one point to the latest bios version as f24, the other to version FL. Certainly don't want my first step in the process to destroy the MB. How do I tell which one I need?
Hi, i have some suggestions - that will make this kind of videos easier to follow: - rotate the top camera 180 degrees, so that the camera perspective matches with what the user will see when they work on their system - the contact frame should be showed as an optional step (since it's not really for beginners) - i get it that you say for i9 it makes perfect sense... but the people can follow your guide for i5, i3 processors as well and there the sense it makes drops significantly, plus other reasons: not all are designed the same, with some you can break your mainboard, also depending on the place in the world, one might not be available nearby, i don't have one for my i9 because it's not really convenient for me to order one. - agree with the recommendation to get the memory with xmp profile, but for different reasons that you presented: better compatibility (because it most likely to be on the recommendation page for your mainboard because it was tested by the mainboard manufacturer), other than that there shoudn't be any no long term disadvantage since both profiles are only some bites of information (frequency, voltage and main timings) in the ram spd chip that bios reads and apply. Cheers!
I noticed that on the second run after BIOS update (when you had to start it manually) the XMP was turned off again. That happens to me sometimes with my TUF board. 2:40:40
Hi, will there be a 4060 ti review coming soon? I'm considering waiting for the 16gb version or going for 4070. But the 4070 price is a bit above my budget. Love your videos btw, keep up the awesome work!
Hello. Is Asus Creator pro art B550 Motherboard Good for Ryzen 9 5900x CPU. OR is there any other budget and bang for buck Motherboard for the CPU. Currently i am having a B450M DS3H MB. So Kindly Suggest
Thank you ! Excellent video ! Small question, the graphic card is still running at 16x even if a M.2 ssd drive is installed on the first socket ? Your step by step video helped me in building my brand new PC (Asus ProArt Z790 + Intel i9-13900k + aio 360 + Asus ProArt 4080 GPU + 1To m.2 ssd for the OS (1st Socket) + 4To m.2 ssd (2nd socket) + 64 GB ram + 1200w). Thank you in advance for your reply.
@pc9784 @thetechnotice answered me in another trend, and here is his answer : On ASUS ProArt z790 you're gonna be fine. Don't worry. You can mount your SSD in first expansion slot.
excellent video, I tried to build my first computer. z690 aero g ddr5 Motherboard, I 7 13700k, Geforce rtx4070i, and I tried to boot and always two red lights are in the motherboard. do you know why? can you help me? thanks.
Thanks for the video. Very informative. I do have one question. When you put the GPU in the top pci slot and have a m.2 ssd in the top m.2 ssd slot does it reduce the pci slot to x8 instead of x16?
Yo supongo que no vas a jugar, por lo que estás buscando una placa versátil en temas de conectividad, cualquiera DDR5 Z790 Gama media pero no entiendo con semejante CPU porq bajarle el presupuesto a la board xD
Hi , I have a motherboard PRIME B365M-K and I put a GTX 970 on , can you recommend me a case to keep that Nvidia card cool ? What power source would you recommend ?
Would've liked if Noctua gave AM4/5 users red plastic washers/spacers instead of grey. Also glad that the AM4/5 way of installing is easier than the intel mounting. Looks more time consuming.
I just updated the BIOS and XMP Tweaked isn't showing up in my BIOS. I followed this tutorial step by step to build my first CPU (THANKS BTW!! - this was a huge step for me and so much fun - you made this so easy and I can't wait to build another one. However, not sure whats up w/ XMP Tweaked not showing up in the BIOS. Any thoughts?
We need to se é a test of the Noctua NH-15 with the fans from the Noctua NH-U12 the NH-15 has better heat pipes... but the NH-12 has the newer fans design? would you try test that?
Excellent video. Regarding the GPU/PCI-E cable extender - wouldn't it be better to choose a custom sleeved option that is going to bend easier than the one you've chosen and mitigate damage/fire risk?
Is there any useful reason to use a local account instead of signing into your microsoft account other than being able to say "Screw you Microsoft"? You can also sign in during setup then switch to a local account after install, right?
Would this be an acceptable PSU for this build: ASUS TUF Gaming 1000W Gold (1000 Watt, ATX 3.0 Compatible Fully Modular Power Supply, 80+ Gold Certified, Military-Grade Components, Dual Ball Bearing, Axial-tech Fan, PCB Coating, 10 Year Warranty)
I watched entirely all the video, very informative, thank you. I'd like to know if cpu temperature can be lowered a bit using the NH-D15 cooler. Also, what about using an AIO kit?
Hi, i have a plug 8pin cpu power led on on my motherboard. I have 8+4pin plugged in to the motherboard and I've tried replugging them but the led wont go away. I've been using the pc normally for a week, it is stable, and on cinebench multi-core test my ryzen 5 7600 is pulling 100W with pbo enabled. Do I have a faulty component or is this safe to ignore?
Amazon has it. There is also a video. Thermalright CPU Contact Frame for LGA 1700 Retrofit Kit, 17XX-BCF Bracket Intel 12th 13th Generation Anti-Bending Buckle Black
There is no way that the air cooler can cool that i9 efficiently. You might as well have a 13600k because once you start loading all of those cores the speed will throttle from high temps. That cooler is good for 160wats of cooling and that i9 has a rating of 253 watts. Throttling is not good.
I’ve just finished building my first PC but when i try to turn on i get stack on the VGA (orange) light and nothing happend. i have the i9-13900k so i remove the GPU and try to run from motherboard but it stil same issue. Any ideas? Aready flash the bios. Aready flash the bios and pull battery out for 10 min. i9-13900k Gigabyte Z790 AORUS ELITE AX ATX LGA1700 G.Skill F5-5600J2834F32GX2-TZ5RK SAMSUNG 990 PRO 1TB SAMSUNG 990 PRO 2TB RTX 4070 Ti SUPER™ 16GB NZXT H9 Flow DeepCool PX850G PSU
I'd appreciate anyone's help on this... I've finished my build with he ASUS ProArt CREATOR Z790 and the new i9-13900KS, and I've started the POST and it seems to keep coming up with 'CPU Overheat Error'. This isn't on every time I try posting, but most times. I've got the ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 360 and everything seems to be plugged in. I've reapplied thermal paste. Reinstalled the pump. When I entered BIOS the CPU showed up at 89°C. I've done a lot of research and still can't quite pin point what is going on... Is it worth updating BIOS first?
😢 I've got my mom's old tablet. She died, and I can't get this to let me past the Google account thing. I have tried her old Gmail and all of mine, but I still can't get in. How do you get past it?
This was the board I intended for my build. You are obviously thinking the BIOS and Overclocking/overheating/ burn condition currently in the news will be straightened out by ASUS before too Long?!
@@theTechNotice Please do a video about the actual issue. Seems to be ,,overclocking is the issue and the use of RAM that exceeds the processor limits but the manufacturers and others have promoted the ability to overclock beyond the 1.3 . So, is it false advertising leading to improper combinations of components. Love to use the board,, but not till this issue is cleared and ASUS develops a reliable BIOS(ie not BETA). Clarify for us all. I know it's difficult.
First of all , he alone should train off the camera and then start putting together pc (sometimes get stuck, by himself). Training how to build pc for beginners must look flawless.
Okay how much did u had to pay for "ALL THE PARTS and ALL THE MATERIALS" NEEDED. When U tell me the total BALANCE then I can figure out if this is even worthy to do or to even try it. But hey thnks for the video nd the info.

Great video. Thank you!
What is keyboard that you using? Looks nice, I like flat keyboard usually I’m choosing Logitech.
thank you so much, I really appreciate your help, keep going
Great video, I am also using the same anti-bending buckle. I am also done building, but not done cable managing. I might actually go for a different case (I have the bgears b-voguish), but I did the EPS cable run all wrong.
I recently purchased MSI Z790-A WIFI Motherboard. What are your thoughts on it?
Also I'm looking for a USB c to USB A extender. Any recommendation?
75 year old about to start my first PC build based primarily on your videos. I am going to use the Gigabyte Z690 Auros Elite AX ddr5 and would like to update the bios prior to beginning the build. But, the site is unclear to me which new bios I should be updating too. There is a version 1.xx and a version 1.4, one point to the latest bios version as f24, the other to version FL. Certainly don't want my first step in the process to destroy the MB. How do I tell which one I need?
There's also a date when they've been released, pick the latest one ;)
@@theTechNotice right, but is the f24 or FL correct for the ddr5?
Ok, thanks to your excellent videos, I am proof positive anyone can successfully build a PC. Appreciate it very much.
Hi, i have some suggestions - that will make this kind of videos easier to follow:
- rotate the top camera 180 degrees, so that the camera perspective matches with what the user will see when they work on their system
- the contact frame should be showed as an optional step (since it's not really for beginners) - i get it that you say for i9 it makes perfect sense... but the people can follow your guide for i5, i3 processors as well and there the sense it makes drops significantly, plus other reasons: not all are designed the same, with some you can break your mainboard, also depending on the place in the world, one might not be available nearby, i don't have one for my i9 because it's not really convenient for me to order one.
Cheers!
Very much agree with the camera rotation!
Thank you for yours videos
Lets say I am using an AIO instead of a air cooler like you, do I still do it at the same point you did or later?
Could you make a PDF pf all the software download and setup checks to run through in first sett up first run? Thanks
I have the same question, did you ever figure it out?
@pc9784 @thetechnotice answered me in another trend, and here is his answer :
On ASUS ProArt z790 you're gonna be fine. Don't
worry.
Or is it only on z690-e boards?
Hello, please, which motherboard is the best for a 13900K processor under $300? Thank you very much and great streaming :)

The best creator ❤
I don't have XMP in my bios. I have DOCP. Is that the same?
Would this be an acceptable PSU for this build: ASUS TUF Gaming 1000W Gold (1000 Watt, ATX 3.0 Compatible Fully Modular Power Supply, 80+ Gold Certified, Military-Grade Components, Dual Ball Bearing, Axial-tech Fan, PCB Coating, 10 Year Warranty)
Yeah
I watched entirely all the video, very informative, thank you. I'd like to know if cpu temperature can be lowered a bit using the NH-D15 cooler. Also, what about using an AIO kit?
21:50 A bit late, but he talks a bit about it at that timestamp.
Can I install and activate MS Office 2019 with activation key and without creating Microsoft account?
can we install 2 x RTX 4090 24GB? is the processor and board capable of run 48GB GPU?
Just found you. You Rock! (and ya got a new subber here)
m.2 PCIe (all size) and RST VMD Controller Miniport driver on install Windows
I did not find a link for the contact plate that installs onto the cpu. Please advise.
Amazon has it. There is also a video. Thermalright CPU Contact Frame for LGA 1700 Retrofit Kit, 17XX-BCF Bracket Intel 12th 13th Generation Anti-Bending Buckle Black
ram controller pin contact integrity? on that frame
No setup involved for the different ssd's?
Thanks!
Thank you!
Where is the IFixit kit link?
Can the ProArt mb take ECC ram?

Have like 1 hour till dinner so that's why I'm watching this
nice the video
this build running hot and loud.. also that case is very bad choice because it doesn't have good airflow..
Volume up please😊
😢 I've got my mom's old tablet. She died, and I can't get this to let me past the Google account thing. I have tried her old Gmail and all of mine, but I still can't get in. How do you get past it?
Nice
This was the board I intended for my build. You are obviously thinking the BIOS and Overclocking/overheating/ burn condition currently in the news will be straightened out by ASUS before too Long?!
This board hasn't been the issue :)

Tower cooler for i9? This is very... bad solution. It needs at least 360mm AIO

Hi
You said "If you are either a first-time Builder or have never built before..." Could you tell me what the distinction is between the two?😂
Good point! 😁
Is ok
hi
No sound
nooooo that's not how you apply thermal paste
Okay how much did u had to pay for "ALL THE PARTS and ALL THE MATERIALS" NEEDED. When U tell me the total BALANCE then I can figure out if this is even worthy to do or to even try it. But hey thnks for the video nd the info.
