  • Taylormade M4 Driver Review: The nicest feeling Driver of 2018??
This is the M2 replacement and wow what a lovely feeling club to hit. In the past I haven't been a huge fan of the M Range, with their move to Carbon Composite in my view spoiling the feeling of their equipment. Now maybe GeoCoustic has finally come good in its development in making this Driver one of the nicest sounding/feeling Drivers on the market to date.

I’m always a year late when it comes to golf equipment. I just got the M4 driver and 3 wood and love them!

A friend of mine I golf with bought one, I hit it 3 times and can honestly say this club for your amateur golfer will actually give you more distance.. its worth the cost I just bought one today in the d-type. should help my slice.

I’ve just been fitted for this driver, but the draw setting version with an ACCRA Tour Z extreme 455 M3 shaft. Better ball flight, distance and ball speed. The shaft felt really stable. The twist face worked for me in fitting, usually I hit a pretty straight shot with a dying fade at the end, with the M4 the fade disappeared.
Looking forward to playing out on the course with it.
    Nice review as always Jason.

Most sensible fact based down to earth review I've seen TM should hire you 😉

Hi there thanks for the kind feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed the review and got something from it. I think TM would be more likely to employ me based on these recent reviews rather than the previous reviews on the M1 and M2 drivers as they weren't quite so favourable 😏. For the moment I'm happy to remain independent so I can continue to give my honest opinion within my content 👍
Thanks for the comment and for watching.

One of the best drivers I've ever owned ... and I've owned them all. Great review.

Tested the M4 today and totally agree with you that this is best feeling driver I have hit. Numbers were similar to my Ping G LSTec but I wasn't fitted for the M4. Look forward to another hit soon and proper fitting. What a driver !

Hi sehnaz1, it will be interesting to see if a proper fitting will be able to squeeze some extra peak yards out and also getting the mishits a bit longer. I can't really say much about the TwistFace idea as really anyone hitting the extreme parts of the face have greater swing issues than anything TwistFace can correct. What they have done though is successfully made a immensely nice feeling driver and one that makes you want to hit it more and more.
Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍

great video, just bought a 12 degree loft one as have slow swing speed, love it, just wondered how you go about changing/ adjusting loft lie etc as can't find any info online at all? many thanks from Ireland , keep up the great videos, Jon Wright

Hi Jon by memory (on holiday at the moment 😊) but the outer sleeve has higher lower and Std notches, if you remove the head you get further information from the internal adapter part. But either way I think they are something like 0.75 degree increments decrements and directly opposite to Std marking would be the lie adjuster normally always upright by a degree or two....
Changes are fairly subtle so best try and measure the changes using launch monitor with a decent amount of shots with each setting (dataset) to see any functional change. 👍

wow what an improvement over your warm ups that we get to see , but the numbers that you use , we don't get to see you hit those shots at all . why is that ? I wish I could improve that much just by changing a ball out .. awsome :) LOL

Initial hits outside are done with Range balls which sound/feel the same as a normal ball but are restricted flight so won't go the same distances. That's why there are greater differences between outside distances and then when using a normal ball.

Would love to hear your thoughts after playing this on-course for a round or two with a shorter shaft. Love your content and presentation..

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  6 лет назад

Hi Alan. I already have a 44.5 inch shaft coming to give this a proper go around the course. I will probably do a quick 3 hole course vlog and hit my own driver alongside it.
Thanks for the kind feedback and for watching 👍

Hi Sodthong, even if you have no intention to buy one I think it would be fun to give it a go and test. 👍 Always fun spending time on a launch monitor 😉

Tried it the other week thought it was horrible driver was wild massive slices with it didn’t dig it at all . That’s the beauty with testing as everybody has different opinions and feel with different clubs

    • @AskGolfNut

Spot on DodgyDave75, the human condition called feel is an amazing thing. One person loves sprouts and another hates them. Did I just call the M4 a sprout 😊

Slice is a consequence of your bad swing. Go to a teacher

I`m not sure that the TM Marketing dept., will like their shiny new BMWish Driver being called a Sprout! LOL

was only slicing it with that driver knobhead

    • @AskGolfNut

It certainly performs better than if was swinging a sprout. Could and possibly should have used the Marmite metaphor instead 😏😁

How is the feeling of the m4 compared to Rogue?

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  5 лет назад

To be fair they both feel quite similar with the Rogue just feeling that tad more muted than the M4. Both very good drivers still even though really they have been superceded. Bargains definitely to be had, as long as you know your custom fitted specs 👍

Not my cup of tea as twist face would stuff me up.lol
It would send my poor drives to an even darker place.lol

Ahhh so I guess Adam you are a member of the bunch of people that miss high toe with an already open face..... After the video Andy (the range owner) was hitting it off the planet with a high toe to the right. I personally think its a bit of a gimmick, and one that it didn't need to have because its a brilliant driver out of the middle.
Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍
